GAW/Homero is not going to implement any major merchant acceptance at any price. That would mean a continuous dump into the market as merchants cash out their XPY as soon as they get it, sucking up all of the available Buy Bids, which GAW/Homero need to make payroll, pay bodyguards, pay lawyers, etc. etc. Example: These dumps are the whole purpose of XPY. No way in hell they are going to have merchants taking away their only revenue stream.

hes in trouble and wants to keep the price at least at the level of slowly dying or stabilize it before its cent level shitcoin, he has shitloads to dump! hence he will proove one of his concepts will work and might evolve to increase poopcoin value in the minds of the believers. he picks or recruits a merchant with low value&volume product (just like most of his earlier merchants) to showcase willingness to accept xpy with way positively skewed rates

Yes, the GAW/Homero daily dumping is done with an eye to not immediately tank the XPY price and kill the Goose that lays them Golden eggs every morning. Merchants would not do that, they would all dump immediately at whatever bid was available. This would be a double fuck to the Scammer's running this shitshow. First, there are only so many idiots who will "invest" in this obvious scam, and the merchants would suck up all the best bids, and secondly, this would at the same time drive the XPY price into the toilet real fast. No way there is going to be any major merchant acceptance of XPY any time soon.

This thread is so weird. suchmoon, "Scott" and, later, Mr. Felt and Coinfire are the posters who have been the most reasonable and realistic all along. I have no idea why people are attacking Coinfire so hard when he's posted perfectly reasonable articles about this fiasco.
The probably faked leaked emails are weird because the idea for Paycoin 2.0 is actually a pretty good idea. It's just that Garza is such a liar and so poor at executing that an idea like that in his hands is useless. I love the idea, though. Release information that only merchants would care about as a reward for holding coins, thereby giving merchants an incentive to hold that consumers don't have. That's a really good idea in concept.

Guys it's amazons fault they betrayed their commitment to paycoin.
Mr ganza says
The most probable scenario is the one we originally started with.
When we launched Paybase, we expected people to "use" Paycoin at a value of X.
If a large merchant were to accept paycoin at X value, we would bring the price of paycoin back to X, honor our commitment, and not have any religitory issues.

As far as I know, this as nothing to do with market cap, and everything to do with liquidity. Happens all the time on small stocks on the stockmarket. aren't most of the coins still in GAW hands (pre-min) and locked in "cashstealers" ?

@ CanInvest. Ya, I get it. I also get that a coin with no liquidity is not worth anything, that is the whole point. If a coin can have it's value moved 20% with $50 it is NOT a $10,000,000 market. Why can these morons not understand that merchants do not give a crap whether a coin is worth 2 cents, $2, $20, or $200? They charge whatever amount in crypto that equals what they need in fiat. Beyond that, ALL they care about is that they can have a reasonable expectation that the coin will be the same value for a few hours from the time they accept it to the time they do their end of day dump into fiat.

It's been months and they still haven't explained why. Why would a merchant accept coins at $x? What are they going to do with the coins? One merchant won't do shit because they need to do something with the coins. This is why I don't have much sympathy for the bagholders. There has never been an explanation for what gaw would do with the coins they paid 20 for, so it never made sense to believe that.

The probably faked leaked emails are weird because the idea for Paycoin 2.0 is actually a pretty good idea.
The idea to give retailers an incentive to hold XPY, by collecting information about users and releasing that info to the retailer only if they hold XPY? I think it's a dumb idea, but dumb in a very Garza-esque fashion which is one point in favor of the emails possibly being genuine. Look at it from the retailer's point of view. You've sold a widget for $100, and accepted 120 XPY in payment. You have suppliers to pay, employees to pay, utilities to pay, etc. If you took in that $100 in USD you wouldn't hold it. Most companies don't keep large cash reserves on hand. The money comes in and goes right back out (some into your pocket, hopefully, if you're the owner). How much less attractive is it to hold those funds in an alt coin that you can't use to pay any of your bills, and whose value could double or be cut in half at any time? You're playing roulette with the cash instead of paying the bills.

@ Bitpop: Funny (and scary) what these idiots were conned into believing. They are also certain that somehow merchant integration will somehow magically instantly raise the price of XPY as well, when in reality a coin with no liquidity would instantly have it's price pushed into the toilet as merchants dump into the market and suck up all Buy Bids. When you read the posts on HT it seems that they somehow equate a merchant accepting XPY as it being "gone" (or held- which is never going to happen by a real merchant) and this will drive the price up, when the reality is that to the market spending at a merchant is exactly the same as dumping.
