I would like to see similar competition at Safe Dice with transparent info on number of tickets, players.
Jackpot is other popular promo it is always good to have additional chance to win mega payout.

Well it is indeed better to have a lottery type wagering contest, this will encourage more people to join because of the possible chance of winning even if they do not wager that big.  In Wagering contest, small rollers will surely be discourage to participate in the event since they already know that they cannot compete with the high rollers but on the other hand, this will trigger a competition to the high rollers resulting in higher bet than the usual bet from this people.  I do not favor giveaways since this is subject to exploit by people who wanted to take advantage of the program. How about Cash back ? It is also one good promotion.

Yes I agree, but I do not think all giveaways are exploited by all and it can also help a site if players have to retweet something so the site can get exposure. Cash back is another idea I didn't think of. I am not sure if we will consider cash back but we will of course take it into consideration!

I wanted to join the wagering contest but saw the daily chart of others and I didn't had enough btc to catch up with some of those this week, so if there's a different contest next week that would be great.

Also rexxludi a old mod on safedice did giveaways with people who had hit the 300,000th roll and such with a minimum of 100 satoshi and did some small tips of 0.0025-0.01. It was quite busy at the time he did such things. Now I see the site is reaching for the 200,000,000 bet, so there's a idea.

I'm wondering whether adding more winning places (so more chance of winning 'anything') could work better. What if you did something like this:

1st: 0.3 btc
2nd: 0.15 btc
3rd: 0.08 btc
+ 4th to 10th: 0.01btc each

Not necessarily the most optimal model, but should give you the idea of what I mean.
So, the total prize pool (cost) stays unchanged, the 1st prize (which everyone with at least 1 ticket can win) is equally attractive, but the higher number of paid places could encourage more players to participate. But maybe it's just my preference, I'd like to hear what others think about that.

Yeah I agree. Even though it is nice to have a big reward prize, it isn't appealing to everyone. I am not sure the exact structure we will use but I think it will allow more people to win but of course the prize will be smaller.

Our current weekly wager will end Feb. 11th UTC 0:00 and rewards will be calculated and handed out accordingly.

New Weekly Lottery Wager:

Starting Saturday Feb. 11th UTC 0:00 for every account that wagers 0.01 BTC will earn 1 lottery ticket. You can earn as many lottery tickets as possible so the more you wager the more lottery tickets you earn. Once the contest ends on Feb. 18th UTC 0:00 we will have a lottery drawing for the participants. Any wagered BTC before or after the contest duration does not count.
