is this the same as the latest git?
I don't see an "incentive protocol" commit...
and I'm on linux so I need the sources.

Seems this is a WIP update (thus labeled RC1) and the commits are on his private branch currently. Wait for additional releases since it's not mandatory anyway.

Version 0.3.4 RC1 binaries are out.

From what I got told on IRC, the source code on github does not corresponds to the released binaries of this RC.
Not to mention that the source code for the GUI is not published, so the user have to trust the 2 developers that have access to the secret development branches (johnconnor and xCore).

I recommend proceed with caution on this altcoin while further source code is not available. As this is not really free software yet.
They promise to release the source someday however…

Installed the update..

heads up.

I needed to unlock my wallet for it to work otherwise wallet crashed whenever a new block was found.

Double heads up.
This may mean you will be getting incentives if you download the new wallet.

The GUI is just calls to the daemon. I wouldn't worry about that source not being released yet.

^^^FALSE^^^ incentives have NOT been integrated yet. Just the basics of the protocol.

Does anybody know how the incentives work?  Just running the client will give you extra vanillacoin?

Don't really understand everything you say.

Except this RC1 update, every release since around January is open source. There is probably a testing reason behind it, also it's not mandatory.

Nice from a 10 post account to ask for caution, but John most probably won't spread any malware considering the amount of work he put into this project.

I have a good feeling about incentives. It might be better way to earn coins than masternodes. I hope that John will set the reward to 50%.

Be nice if someone made a guide on how to ensure your node is working, while remaining as safe as possible.

Hi is anyone minig VNL here yet?

I was minig it last winter  Grin and as it is getting cold here I am comming back with my rig 5xR9 270.
Last winter it used to generate at least 20-50 coins etc / day, nowadays after 3 days of non stop minig I minted 0.5 coin altogether.

Isnt that strange? With this, it is totally unprofitable to mine VNL although I love this coin, never sold any, nor I will until they are pair to BTC Smiley

What is todays approach to mining VNL? Did FPGA dominated this? I have around 80 Mh/s per card in sgminer but I cannot get more. What should I be getting from such card and expectin to mint per day?

I also have some 7950 still resting in closet, should I turn them on? What shoud I expect here from those cards?

Thanks anyone for info Smiley
