1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a new blockchain that will compete with Ethereum? on: September 28, 2021, 03:27:06 AM
There are new blockchains like Solana and Avalanche that have had incredible growth this year. Their price has gone up significantly higher than Ethereum in terms of percent. Several years ago people laughed at the idea that an ETH competitor like EOS and NEO could one day replace Ethereum but the latest generation of blockchains have proven that they could gain significant market share and so far they are looking like they will continue to have sustained growth and continue to attract users and developers.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No vaccine no entry Casino house! on: September 28, 2021, 02:44:21 AM
A vaccination card can be easily forged so I don't know how effective these requirements will be at preventing the virus from spreading. One concern I have is how far will they go with these restrictions that prevent unvaccinated people from going about their life freely. Some people have a valid reason for not getting vaccinated that have nothing to do with crazy conspiracy theories and these rules are discriminatory against them.
1183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good to invest on cheap promising coins? on: September 28, 2021, 02:10:39 AM
What exactly makes Zero Coin promising. It is so cheap because nobody has ever heard of it or doesn't want it. If it's been around for so many years and still hasn't achieved any adoption then I doubt that this will be it's big year. It could always see a random pump because of such low liquidity but as far as long term potential then it is best to look elsewhere.
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: September 27, 2021, 07:06:56 AM
Butler could probably make more money by stepping aside and allowing Casimero to fight Inoue. Inoue needs an opponent for the end of the year and it would be a shame if he couldn't fight a big name due to the sanctioning bodies getting in the way. Hopefully an agreement is reached and we will see a unification fight instead of the mandatory.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] JOSHUA vs USYK on: September 27, 2021, 05:51:00 AM
Usyk definitely dictated the tempo of the fight, no doubt about that. Joshua had no answer to Usyk yet he had all the tools win comfortably and this is something Joshua will struggle to get over when they meet for the re-match.

Joshua was stunned when Usyk started catching him hard in the first round and after that it seemed Joshua thought he could keep boxing like he did against Povetkin but Usyk is several classes above him. I think Joshua will struggle to win the re-match unless he changes his style and uses his huge frame to impose himself on Usyk.
Since the Ruiz and Joshua fight Joshua has looked hesitant to get into a punching match and instead when Usyk started to throw punches and look to trade a couple of them he backed out but that is not the most effective tactic. Joshua used to be good at these trading punches because he has big power in his punches and by stepping back he allows the better boxer technically to continue to dominate him. I do not see any way that Joshua wins in the rematch if there is going to be a rematch. Joshua did not speak to any media after the fight which I think is a breach contractually and I think his head is not in the best places right now. I do not see the rematch happening and if it does Usyk wins unless Joshua can get a lucky punch because it is obvious to me that Usyk was the better boxer.

Joshua has what many would consider a glass chin. He does not take punches very well. He has taken a lot of damage against Klitschko, Ruiz, and now Usyk. Punch resistance isn't something that can be improved with training. I just do not see how he will ever be champion again. He should fight someone like Dillian Whyte or Derek Chisora and get one last big paycheck and then call it a career. He is too damaged to continue much longer in the sport.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins on: September 26, 2021, 02:21:15 AM
I have a few coins that were airdropped, a few where I only have a little bit of dust, and a few coins from bounty rewards. They are either not listed anywhere or can only be traded on Uniswap where the fees would be bigger than the worth of the coins so I don't bother doing anything with them.
1187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] JOSHUA vs USYK on: September 25, 2021, 10:28:18 PM
What a fantastic fight. Usyk was too fast and skillful for AJ. Joshua started to have some success after he was landing some body shots but Usyk closed out the championship rounds very well and it looked like he was close to getting a knockout several times.

We will probably not get an undisputed champion anytime soon due to the rematch clause in this fight, but I think Fury vs. Usyk is a much more interesting fight. Joshua would not have done well against Fury if he is not even able to take a punch from a cruiserweight.
1188  Other / Off-topic / Re: GGG will have a fight this year! (BOXING) on: September 25, 2021, 05:01:16 AM
Ryota Murata is not a popular boxer, only had 16 fights (https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/657422) while he loses of that fights.

This fight will be in Japan, so it's good for Ryota Murata as he is in his home-court advantage, but I doubt it will help him win because GGG will not make him last 12 rounds, most probably a KO win by GGG will be witnessed in the fight day.

I'm just impressed by the promoter of the fight as they also consider bringing the fight to Japan and Asians would be happy with that.

Murata is very popular in Japan. They could easily sell out a stadium with this fight. It all depends on what Covid precautions will look like. They might have the fight in a smaller arena. The fight is around the New Year holiday which is when they have a lot of big fights in Japan.

I think this is an evenly matched fight. GGG is past his prime and gets hit a lot. Murata has the perfect style to go toe to toe and make it an exciting fight which I expect to be a war.
1189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elizabeth Warren claims on: September 25, 2021, 01:12:32 AM
Elizabeth Warren is trying to throw any FUD she can on Bitcoin. She tries to portray herself as a champion of the people but that could not be further from reality. She is not trying to protect consumers. Trying to restrict Bitcoin will only deprive millions of people from financial opportunities that are not possible within traditional finance. There was even this open letter to Elizabeth Warren stating all the benefits Bitcoin offers. Apparently, she does not care and is even willing to screw over minorities and women for the sake of protecting the US dollar's hegemony.
1190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rapper Snoop Dogg partnership with virtual blockchain world Sandbox on: September 25, 2021, 12:54:13 AM
Snoop Dogg has always been a good marketer. He is involved in a lot of businesses and products where you wouldn't really expect him to be a part of. He is someone that can appeal to many different audiences. I'm not into NFTs but I am sure that there is somebody out there who is a fan of Snoop and will decide to check this project out because of him.
1191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advanced settings for dice bets on: September 24, 2021, 10:02:48 PM
I've used dice bots before but in my opinion they are not very user friendly. The UI isn't very nice looking and isn't the most intuitive. You also need to have some programming knowledge to customize the bot's strategy to the way you want it. I have not really found a strategy that was effective over a long time so I just prefer to use automated rolling directly on the casino website.
1192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polygon vs BSC on: September 24, 2021, 06:13:28 AM
They can both co-exist. There are many projects who build on both blockchains and they also share some of their user base. Binance Smart Chain is a little bit older and has more financial backing so it has a bigger ecosystem currently. Polygon is not far behind though because they are relying a lot on Ethereum's network effects to gain attention. Many of ETH's top dapps are available on Polygon.
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe BTC can be attacked? on: September 24, 2021, 04:52:37 AM
Poly Network wasn't a blockchain, it was a DeFi platform, so it is not really comparable to Bitcoin. This was more like The DAO getting hacked. Bitcoin can't be hacked because it is not the code itself that decides what Bitcoin is, it is consensus. You can have bugs in Bitcoin Core software but when this happens they are fixed and everyone agrees on what will get validated.

I get the 1 Satoshi thing also back and forth, but then I do spend some.   I think part or maybe the largest reason why this would happen is the variable term of interest.  Its not a precise 24hr interest is it because the time of pay is varied randomly if Im remembering right, its every day but sometimes its 16hr maybe the next day it's registering 28hr since the last pay.  If it was calculating the interest by the hour not exactly the day because perhaps some people do vary their balance alot and withdraw.
We're basically discussing the compound effect, you gained mostly in the balance from the prior interest (plus wheel spin minor stuff but largely the balance is carried over cumulatively etc.) so thats the difference observed with some of this 'wobble' back and forth.  Just a theory, I might have that wrong but I presume everyone can observe similar and so its universal.

I believe it has to do with how the interest is calculated. If they credited you with the exact percentage then they would have to add extra decimal places. Instead of adding extra decimals they sometimes round the amount up to the nearest satoshi to make up for the fractions of a sat you're not receiving the previous days.
1195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: September 23, 2021, 05:42:57 AM
Gaballo is undefeated but he has very limited experience and has never fought a boxer who is on Donaire's level. Donaire is an old fighter but this is a fight he should win. He is more skilled and accomplished. Gaballo is a novice by comparison but this is an opportunity to make a name for himself.
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blockchain and Gambling on: September 23, 2021, 03:16:48 AM
So I recently read a very interesting article which actually defines about how blockchain is responsible for more responsible gambling.
https://www.gamblingnews.com/news/hashing-it-out-ep-11-blockchain-as-a-solution-for-more-responsible-gambling/
Quote
One of the attendees whom CoinGeek interviewed is Peter Higgins – a commercial mediator whose work is to solve disputes between gambling operators and clients. Higgins explained that sometimes these conflicts involve big sums of money and that his job is to prevent things from escalating to court where possible.

Speaking about blockchain, Higgins is quite optimistic about its use in solving such conflicts as their robust way of working will make it much easier to find out who is right and who is wrong.

“If you can have these ledgers in place that proves what was placed when with some different examples, in crude terms, it’s basically more evidence for the operator or for the client in that case,” Higgins explained.

- An essential method to solve conflicts in the long run which does mean that there will be less problems and we will have more proof in case of some dispute

Not only that it have immense potential account to the author, the knowledge, license, the compliance, data, gambling, approach safety it's all very well received with blockchain technology.

It can also be used to track a players journey apparently which I don't really understand about how it's under the privacy map.

Well the article was overall a good read, what do you think ?

I would not trust CoinGeek to be an unbiased news source. They are owned by Calvin Ayre who has many gambling related businesses and he is also heavily invested in BSV. They are even shilling nChain and BSV in the article. BSV is one of the worst options for gambling because most of the hashpower is owned by Calvin so if there was a gambling outcome where one of his casinos suffers a devastating loss then they could just reorganize the blockchain to undo that outcome.
1197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: which is the best application for blockchain? on: September 23, 2021, 02:51:27 AM
Transferring value in a censorship resistant way is the best application for blockchain technology. People have tried to build blockchain based gaming and digital art certificates (NFTs) but despite all the hype these things remain very niche because there are already centralized options that work very well. Besides Bitcoin you could make an argument for DeFi but what we are mostly seeing are scams and useless tokens.
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polygon vs Solana. on: September 22, 2021, 05:09:47 AM
Solana has been getting the most buzz lately. A few months ago was the trending blockchain network. Solana has large institutional backing and this a major reason why they have been growing much faster than their competitors. I do agree that Solana is too centralized but this also enables them to have lower fees and faster speeds. DeFi users seem to prefer usability over decentralization so I expect Solana to continue to have an edge over Polygon.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: More women addicting problem in UK on: September 22, 2021, 02:45:29 AM
Anybody is susceptible to becoming addicted to gambling. It does not matter the gender. During the pandemic more people are staying home and they have more free time and many choose to spend that time doing online gambling. I've known women in my family who had an addiction and borrowed money thinking they could earn it all back only to suffer worse losses.
1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: September 21, 2021, 10:09:45 PM
Today was the first press conference and there was an altercation between the fighters. During this brawl Canelo was able to show his reflexes by avoiding Caleb's punch and landing his own shot that cut Plant's face. There is clearly some bad blood between these guys. If today was a preview of the actual fight then Plant could be in for a severe beatdown.
