1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is safer, USDT or Binance USD? on: August 07, 2020, 10:03:23 PM
depending on what platform you will use to trade, if you use Binance Platform then it's better to recommend BUSD than USDT, but in terms of price, maybe USDT is safer and can maintain its value as well.

Yes, if the trader will be under Binance, there's advantage of getting the BUSD. However, don't put all your investments on that. It is always better to diversify your portfolio. Because you have no idea what will happen next, it is better to safeguard your funds by putting them into various currencies.
1462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCal Shows Hidden Gems? on: August 04, 2020, 10:33:07 PM
I have been visiting coinMarketCal and for several years I noticed not all of their announcement are good, but I guess the majority of it are real. Seeing on this Lamden there is only 33% confidence over 800 plus votes, but votes can be manipulated too. I will not buy for now but I will be watching it, Just found their source code on github https://github.com/Lamden/

33% confidence is still low. It means, users don't have the strong faith on this project at the moment. But let's see if it will change over time. And follow if they will be having good development updates from their side. Hidden gem or not, it is always better to dig more about the project. One can always say that a project is a hidden gem but without supporting facts, don't believe right away.
1463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you miss in block explorers on: August 02, 2020, 11:24:22 PM
Personally on the top of my head, I currently can't think of much. I just wished there was an extra-lightweight version of Blockchain.com/Blockstream.info/Blockchair/etc so loading speeds will be significantly faster when using Tor.

I think on my end, like when I checked blockchair, it shows the priority of your transaction. If it is possible to include also the approximate waiting time to get 1 confirmation at least. Maybe not exact but according to the previous history of the mempool, I guess they can calculate the waiting time.
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥[ANN][BTCU] Bitcoin Ultimatum - a new-generation Bitcoin fork 🚀🚀🚀 on: August 01, 2020, 11:11:49 PM
Aside from attracting btc holders to this upcoming airdrop of yours, what other things are lined up for this yet another bitcoin fork? How are you going to change the route being a forked coin? Do you think you can make a difference and not only using the popularity of bitcoin in your name?
1465  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump has declared that he’ll ban Tiktok over privacy concerns!!! on: August 01, 2020, 10:26:42 PM
Tiktok should be banned as it's not secure and sells the information to China. It could have been a great platform to promote talented artists but unfortunately people later started uploading videos where they were promoting guns and other violence. Such platforms need to go through moderation.

Most of the users of this Tiktok app are youth so they are not that knowledgeable about the security. Once they see that the Tiktok app has a lot of users, they will also use it just to come up with the new trend. Some of the Tiktok users are not that aware about the hazards of social media. They should make another app that is more secured than this app if they still want to showcase their talents in the social media. Privacy should be prioritized as it can make your life at risk.

Younger generation or millennials don't care much about privacy and security. It is like their whole life revolves around social media. So this declaration from Trump is just a precaution not to breach the security of his citizens. Not a Tiktok user but I know a lot of my friends using it. Actually, as much as possible I avoided social media nowadays. Your life will become toxic if you get hooked to these socmed.
1466  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAP] FAKE uniswap website - BE CAREFUL! on: August 01, 2020, 02:02:26 PM
Since scammers are always following latest trends, it was expected that they will jump on this hype train as well.

I've been victim of phishing in the past due my own negligence and stupidity, so yeah, be careful people, always double check the website, and even better, bookmark those that you are regularly using.

These scammers even paid their ads. But google can flag it down, right? I was trying to send a feedback but couldn't make a screenshot as I have problem moving the cursor at the top of the page. But if someone can report this, much appreciated here.

1467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AltcoinDaily.io Youtube channel removed on: August 01, 2020, 09:44:06 AM
Lol, maybe this is just the second round of waves of banning. We have since this happened last December 2019 wherein there's a lot of legitimate accounts being banned because they went full nuts sweeping everything that involves crypto.

For sure they can appeal their ban and be reinstated. And I agree that Youtube should focus more on those Elon Musk or Vitalik Buterin fake giveaways, even their ads have been infiltrated by this criminals already. So let's see how it goes, if AltcoinDaily.io is legit then reinstate it, simply as that.

If they can prove that they are not doing any illegal things then it will ba back to the owner.

That's part of YouTube security measure  to remove those who are making fake giveaway using their platform ,YouTube  just  make mistake that they are one of them who is promoting fake giveaway since that channel is related to crypto currency.

Yes, if they are not doing any fraudulent activities or spreading fake news, they don't have to worry. They can just appeal to YT, and the YT on their end will review their channel. It is very likely that YT removed it because they are tackling about cryptocurrencies. And they are not the first actually to have that problem. Several of these crypto-related channels have been shut down. We can't blame YT, because with so many scammers and fake promos, what they did is just shutdown these channels to avoid further ruining people's funds.
1468  Other / Archival / Re: Bank Account Freezed on: August 01, 2020, 08:46:19 AM
After a long time, I found a right place to ask my question.

Last year, my bank account got frozen. Bank said that my account is blocked based on the instruction from Cyber Crime.

I did few P2P Trades on P2P Platform. Is that the reason?

No one has contacted me so far? Does any faced similar issue and got it resolved? If Yes, how?

Update:

I am from INDIA.

There could only be 3 reasons why banks froze your account:
  • Your account was suspicious for doing illegal activities
  • You have unpaid debts on your creditors
  • You have unpaid debts on your government

You should know what is happening on your bank account.
In your case, I guess the bank thought that your account was suspicious so they froze it.

You can defend yourself if you knew that you did not do anything wrong.

I agree that you should keep your silence until you get your own lawyer because they are the one who can defend you legally.

And the lawyer will help him communicate with the bank and know the truth about being freezing his account. Because if there's no lawyer, they can say whatever they want, and you as their customer will think of awful things why your account got tagged. Will the OP update us regarding the progress of his case and what's the real reason why the bank did come up to that action?
1469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Traditional Crypto online gambling sites against Crypto based gambling sites on: August 01, 2020, 07:17:19 AM
Like what most of the other respondents, I got with the traditional as well. Not only because it offers a wider variety of coins for betting but mainly because of convenience Smiley. Imagine the hassle of converting first your btc into eos (just an example) if ever you will play on a crypto based. Not yet mentioning the fact that some people are not comfortable to use other alts. Yeah eos and tron are reputable in all fairneess, but there are people who are still not into it.

We can't disregard the other advantages of using tron or eos, but most users here are oriented with btc or other popular alts and most of them have their btc holdings. And so if they want to play in tron or eos-based gambling site, they have to convert their btc to tron/eos, which is really not practical for them. So instead of converting their coin to tron/eos, they just play with casino sites which are accepting what they have, and that usually is btc.
1470  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long can the gov keep up the economic lie: downplaying the pandemic? on: August 01, 2020, 06:32:17 AM
So many countries used the opportunity to get huge sum of money especially the leaders, the president, ministers, health and safety environment management boards, and many others to mention. This thing here is, covid 19 is seeming to be scammed as rumours airing out such, but that can be true. It's enough to have completed the vaccine production ketsbget back to normal, citizen residents dying, suffering but the government isn't doing anything about it. This is something eye opening, developing oneself for better future and stop being lied to by government.

So what we can do right now is to take care of our own selves and our family. Since we can't rely from the government all the time. We need to look out for ourselves. Look for options how to generate income, whether a small task or a big one. If you have space around your house, tend a small garden. We can even grow something hanging on our windows if we want to. Be realistic with the situation so your actions will be realistic also. Don't put blame on others, as it will just give you a stressful life.
1471  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Three charged in "Bit-Con" hack of famous Twitter users including Obama, Gates.. on: August 01, 2020, 03:44:26 AM
Are they just stupid

That's always a safe bet.

Even if a mixer spilled some beans it probably wouldn't matter if the perps e.g. used Tor or didn't try to cash the coins or didn't anything else similarly stupid. A typical mixer doesn't KYC so it wouldn't have much to give to the government.

Edit - some details here: https://www.wired.com/story/how-alleged-twitter-hackers-got-caught-bitcoin/

Basically no Tor and no mixer, used Coinbase, etc. And it wasn't really the blockchain that did them in. They started the scheme basically in public on some forum and on Discord and the forum had been hacked in the past so all account e-mails, IPs, etc were conveniently available to the FBI. The funny thing is they made like 30 grand on low-key Twitter account theft and nobody cared. Probably would have made more if they just stayed under radar.

This is the mistake of Sheppard. Not really good at covering their tracks. Interesting what would be the ruling of the judge on their case? If you submitted your KYC to the exchange like Coinbase, the Feds or other authorities can uncover your transactions with them. But it is already a good thing that they were tracked fast. At least 3 scammers out in the field.

1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What difficulty do you face on trading bitcoin? on: August 01, 2020, 01:12:00 AM
I haven't encountered difficulty yet in trading bitcoin since in my country bitcoin is legal. We can enjoy trades daily at all costs. I’m just wondering what punishment a person can acquire if doing illegal activities or against the government in your country. Well, then just to be safe just follow the rules and regulations there in your country since it is hard to put in jail once get caught.

That is really unfortunate to hear that the OP's country is still treating crypto as illegal. I am assuming he's getting a lower rate of btc as compared to the global market. Because that's how it works if it is p2p. On my end, though dealing with crypto is legal in my country, the problem (though not really a problem) that I usually deal is that these local exchanges are below like $600-700 from the global market like for example right now coindesk's btc price is about $11282 but if I want to sell it to my local crypto exchange, they are only buying my btc at a rate of $10600. So I guess that's a big loss for the trader. So I wonder how much is the price difference from the OP's side when he deals with p2p?
1473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some gamblers have been arrestes in Bangladesh for money laundering through btc on: July 31, 2020, 11:58:12 PM
why be afraid if you do not do it.
I think you have miss something and this is what he says at the first page.
I forgot to mention that BTC itself is illegal in our country which is the major reason of my fear. I sometimes sold BTC to unknown guy and that's what I'm fearing of. If it was legal, I would have nothing to fear at all.
And probably he's not doing anything bad unlike the others and to worried about but since it was illegal for their country, no one could ever feel such worries and fear since their authorities are aggressive in implementing the law. Of course, all illegalities just like money laundering is a need to stop and punish those involve.

@OP, will it hopes that your Leaders will change their minds and think good for Bitcoin adoption. Though they are apprehended those illegalities but not in a way to generalize it and arrest those Bitcoin holders/investors who did nothing bad to it. Of course, I feel the same if that so.

It is only a matter of time to change their views on bitcoin or crypto in general. If their government will see those advanced/progressive countries that are openly accepting crypto, why not them? For those users who are residing on that country, they just need to be extra careful in dealing with crypto for the moment. Make sure that they are dealing with legit individuals to avoid getting ill-gotten crypto.
1474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waste to crypto? on: July 31, 2020, 11:48:03 PM
There is a new method to create waste backed crypto with anaerobic digestion. This is an unlimited resource. You can convert waste and sewage to electricity in these new plants and then sell the electricity with Energy Web Token (EWT). Send a private message for more details if you are interested.
Why don't you provide all the details and start an ANN thread if there is nothing regarding the project rather than asking everyone to contact you in private. Lay down the details and if people are interested then they will invest or support the project. It would be great if you could write in detail about the project so that people have the choice.

Agree, rather than we have to send PM, it would be better if he made ANN about his project so that there is transparency about the project. Today we need to be vigilant because so many modes are used to deceive others

Better head to their website and check their project rather than sending him pm if you are really interested.

https://energyweb.org/

Also, they are currently listed in kucoin, bitmart and liquid. Why not trade in those exchanges rather than get rekt from a user here via pm?
1475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree with the experts? on: July 31, 2020, 11:20:46 PM
corona has affected  the economics globally  but has also dampened the growth of crypto-currencies. Until the dreadful disease get wholly wiped off, it is not possible to see any improvement in the crypto market.

Yes, it did affect major economies in the world, no doubt about that. Even crypto have been affected negatively, bitcoin plummet to $3800 last March because of the pandemic scare. But it seems you're not aware that it has recovered already and we are in this sort of mini bull run, ETH even broke it's barrier of $300 and looking forward to hit $400-$500. So net effect is only short them.

What do you think about this? Do you also monitor the market?

Of course, who wouldn't monitor when our money is here as investments. As for those so called experts, they are just like you and me and majority of average joe, making wild educated guess. So don't put 100% trust of what they are saying, it is not a guarantee, better do you own research.

I guess the OP needs to check the current happenings in crypto market. Bitcoin is already going up even with this pandemic situation and so with the other alts particularly eth. And in terms of those "experts", I don't believe such experts. Most of them are self-proclaimed experts and what they say is just a prediction. And prediction most of the time is a miss from the actual scenario. So even us, can have our own prediction.  Just trust your instincts when it comes to your own investments.
1476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN]MYSTIC - A DAO PROJECT THAT FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING DeFi dApps on: July 31, 2020, 10:48:54 PM

1477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hacker Arrested! on: July 31, 2020, 10:05:03 PM
Damn dude.

This kid is going to get one hefty sentence.
I will not be surprised if he is going to be working under serious guide to unlock some other applications. The guy brain is too hot to be wasted just like that.

I feel pity on him if he will only end his life in jail. I hope they can work around here and just hire him for other vital projects. He's too young to just spend his entire life in prison. He can still change and do something different for his life. Let's see what will be the verdict on him and his accessories.
1478  Other / Politics & Society / Re: DoD just officially announced that the Aliens exist but nobody cares. on: July 30, 2020, 11:58:46 PM
In fact, the United States, especially the military industry, is hiding a lot of facts and hiding them from people's eyes, sometimes attributing them to strange phenomena.
For example, the phenomenon of flying saucers (UFO), which spread widely in the sixties, there is a lot of talk about it that it was a superior American military inventions since that time and people thought when they were seen as creatures from space through flying saucers.
So for me, I wouldn't exclude that this was also one of the superior American military inventions that defied the laws of physics known to us.

That likelihood of being another superior American military invention is very high. With our technology right now, they can build something that is not deemed possible. But sometimes it is interesting to watch and read all these conspiracy theories.

I like this one though. I think you've used this image before as I already saw this.. Grin But yes, this maybe the case here also.

no where in any of both images does it prove beings from another planet
even the top image can only prove 'object that cannot be identified'
1479  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown restrictions increased to reduce the spread of immunity. on: July 30, 2020, 11:36:22 PM
Informed opinion seems to believe that 70-80% of the population already has immunity. That seems to be herd immunity, but the government seems to have not-heard-immunity.

Covid doesn't kill, but lockdowns, unemployment and debts do. ( and masks Smiley ).

Actually, this lockdown has given a lot of hardships to those that are already below the poverty level. As they have very limited means of earning money for their food, and a lot of them are suffering from other diseases not this covid. And the government can't satisfy all their needs. We expect more deaths not owed to covid but malnutrition??  Roll Eyes
1480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PlusToken Ponzi Goes To Jail on: July 30, 2020, 10:58:09 PM
This is exactly what should be done to these fraudsters who parade themselves as project developers and blockchain experts, float an IEO or tokensale with the sole purpose of defrauding investors. Most of these projects in the industry have absolutely nothing to offer but hype. Their intentions aren't pure and they aren't looking to solve any challenge but just looking to grab as much money as possible before disappearing into thin air. Hopefully, with this China crackdown, most of these fraudulent projects cease to exist.

But unfortunately, only few of these cases have been resolved. A lot of them already disappeared along with their collected money. Remember, there are so many anonymous projects launched in 2017 that raised huge funds and where are they now? Enjoying the money of others. But at least, this one got their justice but I wonder if they can recover some of those funds?
