Now Red Bull is racing in different league. Russel expect that they should win all races this season and there is no chances for others to fight against them. Other teams only can fight to become best of the rest. It's so good to see Alonso on podium and I think he can fight for win in some races.
Mclaren looks so disappointing. And Ocon - how you can get penalty 3 times in one race, I never saw such thing.

I wonder what's going on with Vettel rn...  Lol.  He's prolly giving his wife a hard time for giving him hints that he should retire from F1 as Aston Martin doesn't look like a team who could put him on podiums.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Just one more season and he would've reaped the profits of his labor with the team.

And yeah, looks like I wouldn't be making a point of dropping everything else to watch F1.  Not worth it anymore as it looks like it's gonna be another domination of Verstappen and RBR.

It's a decent Fight Night card with lots of familiar names for the regs of this thread.  Wink  Some of them are really close matches tho, so making a parlay could be harder than UFC 285.  I think lots of parlays were hitting at 285 if they managed to avoid putting Shev in them.  She's the pie shtter of the event.  Would've won three tickets if not for her.  :/

Anyway, this next one is tough but I'll still be making a my greasy lottery ticket nevertheless.  Lol.  GL to all your picks.  And congrats to the winners of 285.

I'm kinda confused here..  Do you get points in both quali and the race or just the race?  I made my picks for quali but I seemed to have missed something as I still have no points.  And does this thing lock automatically?  I can't lock my picks and I can't find the lock button thingy.  There are those ones beside the drivers' names but when I click it, it says my pick was saved and I can change it later.

What is this?
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 04, 2023, 10:55:09 PM
^  I like the Shev via decision spot at 3.  I don't I've seen Grasso getting KO'd or finished via sub before.  And if she did, it must've been more than three years ago.  A safer option would be to take the over 4.5 rounds at 2.07.

Anyway, is anybody watching the event?  First match with Ribovics vs Radzhabov already a banger!  The underdog could  win here...  And there's a guy I know who's leaning towards the underdog here who's also leaning towards Neal...

Edit:  Ah..  Radzhabov won.  It was close tho.  29 - 28 in all three judges' cards.

Edit:  Basharat next!  Leeezzz gooo!

Here's what my betting slip looks like:

Farid Basharat
Tabatha Ricci by decision
Viviane Arajo by decision
Bo Nickal
Mateusz Gamrot
Shavkat Rakhmonov
Jon Jones
Valentina Shevchenko

x36 as an accumulator. Jon Jones obviously could be considered a risky bet considering he's been out for a while. However, I feel confident enough to put in on my betting slip at 1.60 odds. The bookie I'm using is offering a bonus for accumulators on the UFC, so the short odd fights like Bo Nickal, Shavkat Rakhmonov, and Valentina Shevchenko offer a bonus on top of it. So, they're better odds than they appear.

If you don't get that bonus though, It's probably worth avoiding them on your betting slip. Although, I'm fairly confident on them, Bo Nickal should get the job done pretty easily. Shavkat I expected will dominant with the grappling, and Shevcehnko seems to have a lot of doubters, but I don't know I just can't see Alexa Grasso beating her, since she hasn't got better stand up, and her grappling is probably the most joy she'll get out of this match up, but we know that Val has dealt with better wrestlers in my opinion in the past quite easily.

Yup, and who knows..  We could see prime Jones taking Gane down then raining bombs on top of him by R2.  And we'd all be saying 'what did everyone expect would happen?'.  Lol.

The match that could be a huge upset is Rakhmonov vs Neal.  A couple of guys I know irl who are huge MMA fans are backing Neal in this spot as they think the line shouldbe closer.  I was supposed to have him at my top ticket but backed off a bit and put him in my third ticket.

Anyway good luck to everybody!

Can Alonso fight for the Pole?

Free practice 3 timers:

Source: https://video.sky.it/diretta/sport

Hamilton is begging for a better car but he is near the top, I'm guessing these results are still with fake power.

I didn't watch any of the free practices but was FP3 stopped short or something?  The times were around 1:32's with just 13 laps done by most of the cars as opposed to FP2's 1:30 - 1:31's for their respective fastest laps with double the number of laps done...

Anyway, good job by Alonso.  Nice to see the start of the season with a little surprise.  But I think Verstappen edges it out at quali and gets pole position with Alonso getting the second spot and Perez the third.

Good luck to all your bets.

So overall, I take any resistance between $30K and $40K with a pinch of salt, because compared to 2019 $6K to $8K resistance level, it looks barely significant (volume wise at least).
Thank you for giving a technical view and giving a technical analysis of what you are trying to predict. I would be surprised if we went back to 30,000 levels during the year, but anything is possible.

Your welcome! I guess for me 2019 took me by surprise, I wasn't expecting Bitcoin to get back to $6K levels let alone reach $14K, so trying to mentally prepare for that possibility this time around. First a foremost price needs to get above $25K, without that, I don't see any breaking of $30K to $40K towards $50K. As maybe price instead just stays between $15K and $25K for rest of the year due to MtGox coins getting released.

With all the negative stuff going on, it'd be a huge win for BTC and I'd imagine the rest of crypto if BTC trends up to 50k USD.  Lots of alts could go up 3x or more against BTC.

Anyway just dropped by cos I noticed something weird...  The US session at NYSE started on a high note with lots of stocks gapping up and in the green rn.  Usually crypto follows huge moves like these but this time it didn't.  After the recent sell down, crypto is mostly stagnant.  So weird.  I feel like some shenanigans is gonna to happen this weekend.
1548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: March 03, 2023, 08:04:32 PM
^  Yup...  And we're still just at FP2.  Lol.  Let's see how Ferrari and Mercedes react in FP3.  I'm guessing Hamilton and Leclerc could do better after a little adjustment and tweaks in their cars.  It's still too early to say where Alonso might stand in the leader board.

But if by FP3 Alonso is still up there, he could get at least fifth at quali.  Damn, it might finally be the year Aston Martin has a decent car.  Vettel should've stayed a couple more years.  I'm both laughing and crying.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

From Formuladank in Reddit.  Lmao.

1549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 03, 2023, 07:55:27 PM
Right, I'm going to put my predictions up now, since I'll only forget tomorrow. I always do. Anyway, some tough fights, some huge favourites, and some huge pie shitters in this event. My biggest concern is Ian Garry against Song, I don't really understand the odds there. Garry is a fantastic striker, but he leaves himself open on a lot of his shots, and Song has power.

Anyway here's my predictions:

Jon Jones
Valentina Shevchenko
Shavkat Rakhmonov
Mateusz Gamrot
Bo Nickal
Trevin Jones
Dricus Du Plessis
Amanda Ribas
Julian Marquez
Kenan Song
Cameron Saaiman
Tabatha Ricci
Farid Basharat
Loik Radzhabov

I haven't made my bets yet, and they'll probably be slightly different to my predictions here. I'll probably post my bets when I've made them, that's if I remember obviously. I've worried for Dricus Du Plessis, I love the way he fights, but I think this could potentially be a difficult fight for him. Gamrot I'm quite confident on, along with Rakhmonov.

True that...  Garry is a concern but if you think about why the UFC matched him up with Kenan Song, I'm thinking someone behind the scenes is setting it up for an easy W for Garry as Kenan Song isn't really that good.  He has some KO powerrr, but not he's not good.  I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers.  I got him at tier two of my lottery ticket.  Been having a knack in putting the pie shtters up there.  Lol.  In hindsight Saaiman is also a concern.  I should've placed Rakhmonov instead.  Had second thoughts as Neal is a beast.

Here are the weigh in results.  A couple of guys came in heavy.

Jon Jones (248) vs Ciryl Gane (247.5)
Champ Valentina Shevchenko (124.5) vs Alexa Grasso (124.5)
Geoff Neal (175)* vs Shavkat Rakhmonov (171)
Mateusz Gamrot (156) vs Jalin Turner (155.5)
Bo Nickal (185.5) vs Jamie Pickett (186)
Cody Garbrandt (136) vs Trevin Jones (135)
Derek Brunson (185.5) vs Dricus Du Plessis(185)
Viviane Araujo (126) vs Amanda Ribas (126)
Marc-Andre Barriault (185) vs Julian Marquez (186)
Ian Garry (171) vs Song Kenan (171)
Mana Martinez (137)* vs Cameron Saaiman (135)
Jessica Penne (116) vs Tabatha Ricci (115.5)
Farid Basharat (136) vs Da’Mon Blackshear (136)
Loik Radzhabov (155.5) vs Esteban Ribovics (156)

* Missed weight

1 day at the start

Hamilton said: we are not at the level of Red Bull and Mercedes

Leclerc said: Mercedes will be competitive.

Someone here is lying.

Lolol...  I think as the tests showed, Hamilton is telling the truth.  Leclerc on the other hand doesn't want the pressure that Ferrari might perform worse than expected so he's saying that Mercedes is competitive to make everyone think the gap between second and third isn't that big.  But what it really means is they're both correct.  As is, right now, both Mercedes and Ferrari aren't at the level of Red Bull.  But we'll see as the season goes.  Both teams have fine engineers and will def develop their cars.

Anyway, join us in the F1 pool.  It's fun!

If Gane hasn't been practicing his wrestling, and Jon Jones has half the ability he had in wrestling a few years ago, Gane is in for a extremely long night. We talk about how wrestlers tend to have the edge against strikers, and Jon Jones is literally one of the best wrestlers to have ever done it. The poor showing from Gane against Ngannou were warning signs to me, and I saw a image the other day of a quote from Gane saying he doesn't train until fight camp.

Now, I don't know how true that quote was, but if is then I'm not sure how he expects to beat one of the greatest of all time, and keep a belt too. I wouldn't have thought the quote was true, since Gane definitely has talent behind him, but you never know heavyweight is probably one of the weaker divisions in terms of quality.

We really don't know.  Gane could be practicing a lot of wrestling as he knows who he's up against.  As for Jones, he just needs half of his wrestling ability to hold down and control Gane.  Ngannou isn't an astute wrestler but he was able to control Gane.  Ngannou had an injured knee and was kinda gassed too.

The only worry I have for Jones is his mindset.  And a lot of guys are giving Jones flack for his 'dad bod'.  I think that's fine and nothing to be too worried about.  I'd be more worried if Jones came out jacked to the tits as it could mean he'll slow down carrying around tight muscles.

My lottery ticket for 285...

Jones - Basharat 1.98
Add:  Saaiman - Garry - Shev 3.45
Add:  Du Plessis - Nickal - Rakhmonov 6.38
Add:  Barriualt - Araujo - Garbrandt 34.75
Add:  Radzhabov - Penne - Turner 481.77

Jones not really my most confident pick but I'm forced to put him at the top.  No value if I put my more confident picks unless I go for 3 - 4 legs.

Group B was yesterday and I lost my tier 4 and tier 5 tickets because of one guy who decided he wasn't gonna play well that day.  Sharp didn't show any interest at all and it felt like he threw the game.  There was some shenanigans in the SC/BW pro scene when a couple of players were caught fixing matches back in the day.  Wouldn't totally be surprised if it happened again.  :/

Anyway, here are the results for Group B...

Dragonvslinux made a good post in the Feb sentiment thread about how BTC ended up mostly neutral with the smallest monthly gain...  But he also said that there were a couple of spots when it closed the month the same way and went on to go up the next month.

So what do you guys think?  Up above 25k USD by end of March or still below it?

Here's how monthly chart ended for Feb.

A possible comeback in Formula 1.
Vettel can race at the start of the season with Aston Martin.

Stroll has his hand broken and it is not sure he will race, it is improbable.

In his place, it will race their 3rd driver or Vettel.

Vettel never seemed like the kind of guy who will take his word back and join the Formula 1 again. He is a racer at heart, but when I saw his goodbye message I thought that this is surely final. Alonso can't get enough and people thought he might stop driving years ago. Perhaps he is still driving when he is 45.

Yup and if ever he's gonna return to F1 again, I think it's gonna be as a team principal or a team strategist role.  He has a good mind for the sport and has always showed his interest behind the scenes in the paddock.  I remember before when he used to be a young racer in Red Bull whenever he had a DNF, he's always there beside Horner and Newey in front of the monitors and trying to learn new things about the sport.

I hope we see him as a team principal as I think he'll be good at it.

^  Yeah Till's run in the UFC is done.  They gave him more than a couple chances to get back on track after having high hopes of him becoming the next big thing in the UFC.  It was Woodley who spoiled all of it for Till during his first run for the belt.

As for Tukhugov, I had him at my top ticket in his last match.  He looked like he didn't want to be in there anymore.  And finding out just now that it was the lst fight in his contract, the more that he should've showed that he wanted to be in there...  :/
