16561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best paper for a paper wallet on: January 22, 2014, 01:17:44 PM
I am looking for something better then just good old paper to print paper wallet. But I cant seem to find anything. The closest I can find is water proof paper for maps.(don't know how thick it is) I like to keep a paper wallet with .01 btc in my wallet to help explain bitcoin  when asked. I am wondering if their is paper out their that is more like current currency than binder paper.

Books printed on "good old paper" can last hundreds of years. Don't see the need for "special paper". We have a similar thread about types of ink. Same thing again. Any normal ink is fine. Books that monks wrote 1500 years ago are still perfectly legible. I don't think hi-tech solutions are needed for paper/ink when doing paper wallets. Maybe don't use invisible ink though Smiley

Do they? Most books I have start to yellow pretty quickly even after a few years. And those old books are usually written on papyrus or hemp paper or some other form.

I put the referral link in my sig yesterday and already have 66 referrals. Nuts. Looking forward to when PD3 goes live.

How did you even do that did you use sock puppets or something?

Yes, I created 60 odd Primedice accounts just to get referrals  Roll Eyes. I already stated how I got them. And I have exactly 100 now  Grin.

There is NO REFERRAL currently, anything currently going to PrimeDice doesnt count and is not active.

I'm already aware of that.

Laminating it would stop it from folding properly to hide the privet key I would think. A card would work but they don't hold up all that well either.

Why don't you buy one of these: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=400367.0;topicseen

There's other cards available in the marketplace if you don't like that one.

Since I watched Batman Returns the other day, I thought I'd give The Dark Knight Rises another spin.

And just like I initially thought when seeing it in theaters, The Dark Knight is a superior film in every aspect imaginable.

I thought Batman begins was pretty shit, The Dark Knight was fantastic, and TDKR was all right.

CAn you help me out, im looking to pay someone to post ads for me on CL,  they dont take bitcoins only paypal.

I have a suggestion, why dont you create a own paypal account, which is virtual, and just use it for craigslist?

Oh, Craigslist. I've never used it before, but isn't it free to post on there, or do you want somebody to post listings for you?

http://rt.com/usa/las-vegas-casino-bitcoin-974/

This could be the start of some fun.

They claim they will not accept BTC for bets, but at least its a start that they accept it for food/rooms.

I wonder why they'll accept it for food/rooms, but not gambling? Seems weird.

I'm sure there is some legal reasons.

Probably so tight now because of the old days of the Mob and the skim.

If they can accept cash then why not Bitcoin? People bet with the chips anyway, don't they? Aren’t they just a form of money?

Why dont you guys just use torrent. It a great way to get movies

What's the point? I used to use torrents to download files, but why bother when you have a littl set top box that pretty much does it all for you, and without having to wait for the download.

To counter that you could say why stream when you can download the file to keep forever and watch whenever you want?

Because I can watch them whenever I want, with no storage needed. I have a huge external hard drive full of films when I used to download them, which is useful to have, but I much prefer the Pi for it now. When I'm in the mood for a film, I don't wanna have to wait an hour for it to DL on my crappy Sky Internet. I just boot up the Pi and search for it. So much quicker.

Surely if you can stream them fine you can download them fine too? Does Icefilms have every film that is available online, or do the links ever turn out to be dead etc? And you don't have to be in the mood for the film there and then, if you have them all on an external drive you can pick whatever you choose from that selection.

Yeah there are dead links sometimes, but there are loads to choose from. I've never had to go without because of dead links. They get removed pretty swiftly too. I guess that's true if you have them all on your hard drive already. I like that the Pi connects easily to the HDMI port on my TV and hides behind my TV nicely. Each to their own I guess. Either way, it's way better than Netflix!

Yeah, my bro always moans and asks why I download so much when I could just get netflix. I argue why even bother with netflix.
16569  Other / Off-topic / Re: Shows about Micro Chip implantation... on: January 22, 2014, 12:43:42 PM
These arent just conspiracies, really only linking Obamacare to microchips is a conspiracy.  Even Google and Motorola are looking into microchipping and "electronic tattoos" for the near future.  It just seems strange that multiple shows pushing them are just happening to come out on different networks.

What's so strange about it? Technology/ the future is interesting and exciting. It's only logical that shows are going to exploit new and future technology.

Just use some quality paper or card and laminate it. If your keepin it on your wallet you should probably use card instead of paper. Or just ask some currency counterfeiters  Grin.

16573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: STOP POSTING RESERVED on: January 22, 2014, 12:34:33 PM
I genuinely don't understand the whole reserved thing? Do they think the thread will be locked or something and they are reserving a space to ask a question later? But then, if it's locked then nobody will be able to reply to their post. Very strange.

I've ran and used some of the largest forums in the world and only on here have I ever experienced this strange behaviour.
IMHO this is coming from announcement threads, when new altcoins are announced way before launch. The first people that wrote "Reserved" meant they reserve mining power/time of their GPUs to mine the coin. Or they reserve time to setup mining.

So first "Reserved" meant "I am gonna mine (on launch).". Then it became cool, because it's pretty funny and people posted it everywhere (every thread they support or wanna watch).

I'm pretty sure this isn't what they mean when they post 'reserved'.

Need someone to buy me some stuff from Godaddy. I'll pay you in BTC and pay extra for your time Smiley

PM me if you can help.

What do you need exactly and what's to stop you just buying from there?

A credit card/verified PayPal account is required. If you can help me buy from GoDaddy, let me know.

I have a debitcard and verified paypal account would either of those be fine?

Yep, definitely. Can you send me a private message? Thanks Smiley

Deadlock - I'm Gone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7M97B7bLZU#t=204

Female-fronted melodic death metal, although this is a little tamer than their older material. Still always catchy though. Great singer.

Seriously? Have you even read a single post in this thread? The OP himself said it was a scam.

Sonofabitch

Monica,  I am disappoint in you. There's an overview of sig campaigns here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=333916.0

I saw that overview thread but fell for this one... I'm sorry I disappointed you Sad

This thread should be flagged as scam and locked at last to prevent further deception and misunderstanding. Just my two bits...

Mods don't deal with scams or scammers. In fact, if you report them or this thread you'll probably even get it marked as a bad report.

16579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for a single use small denomination VCC for bitcoins on: January 22, 2014, 11:55:25 AM
Hi, I'm interested in acquiring a VCC loaded with a small amount of money in exchange for bitcoins. About 35-40 dollars ideally but if 50 is all that's available I'll take that. It does not need to be reloadable as I will only be using it to make a single online payment. If anyone can help, hit me up. Cheers

There's plenty of people offering these over on the marketplace. Take your pic.
16580  Other / Off-topic / Re: Share the best holiday you have had on: January 22, 2014, 11:54:21 AM
Hopefully I haven't been on my best holiday(s) yet. Have lots of places planned, but it's hard getting everybody to actually book time off work and ust get the damn things booked.

It's really hard to say...

One of my top "vacations" was to Thailand with a friend of mine back in '08. We were there for 5 weeks in total; me to escape the pain of a break up and he to escape a soul sucking job after quitting suddenly. We saw and did things we didn't think we'd ever see/do and we both look back on it every now and then when we hang out.

Reminiscing about all those ladboys, eh?  Grin

I'd like to spend a month in Thailand. It is ridiculously cheap over there.
