16581  Other / Off-topic / Re: Shows about Micro Chip implantation... on: January 21, 2014, 06:27:21 PM
Anyone else noticed the number of shows/movies promoting microchip implantation?  The two that are advertised repeatedly during football games are "Almost Human" and "Intelligence."  There is also a Johnny Depp movie coming out where he has a microchip implanted.  All these seem to be promoting "computer-like" intelligence or access to vast amounts of knowledge if you have one.  I know there are conspiracies that say there is a part of Obamacare that will begin to implement RFID microchips in people starting soon.  Although I dont know if that is true, it does seem the "entertainment" propaganda is fully behind the idea of microchips.  Are there any other shows/movies you have noticed that are promoting these?

Haha, I wouldn't really listen to most conspiracy theories. What exactly is the evidence for this microchipping?

Well it is an addiction, just like any other.

And how much do you like to lose? Cheesy

Don't like to lose any thing Tongue.

Then surely by taking your own logic you should never play.
16583  Other / Off-topic / Re: best gambling is never play on: January 21, 2014, 06:16:13 PM
I learnt the hard way I gambled a lot in recent years until I finally moderated, I honestly think it's like a health condition it can ruin peoples lives and then make others very happy If you get addicted to gambling it's very hard to actually back out I was lucky and got out before it did some major damage to my life.

Although, I do gamble now and then but in moderation and normally don't gamble more than I would like to lose.

That is nice but no reason to bring this scam thread up again and again!
few persons already send message to mode for lock this thread but they not done so many coming here and giving him life

Yeah, mods tend to not bother with stuff like that.
but they must do this because now its just waste of time and nothing more

Tell it to the mods, but doubt they'll listen  Cheesy.

I put the referral link in my sig yesterday and already have 66 referrals. Nuts. Looking forward to when PD3 goes live.
16586  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is it too late to get involved on: January 21, 2014, 06:05:33 PM
Yup its to late to get into any crypto coin.

If you still want to get into crypto even with it all dying and being dead end, go with scrypt hardware, you'll get better chances for mining for your money.

How is it too late to get into cryptos? Especially with new ones popping up daily.

16588  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Prepaid Credit Card on: January 21, 2014, 06:02:19 PM
I expect bitcoin debit/credit cards to be a common thing in the coming years.  Ultimately for more mainstream adoption regular everyday people are going to want something easy like that.  Of course you then have to deal with 3rd parties which will include increased fee's , but so long as those fee's manage to be cheaper than current debit/credit card fees then a lot of people will probably still use them while those of us who understand bitcoin a little more will spend bitcoins on our own without relying on a 3rd party.

Couldn't you just make your own? I don't see why we need third parties at all, this is the genius of BTC.

16590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Challenge... on: January 21, 2014, 05:17:21 PM
My position on wallets regardless of being offline, cold, or online is that once the private key has been used to move any coin, you need to move the remaining balance to a new unused wallet address and not re-use the source address again. In other words, wallets are theoretically safe indefinitely, but any wallet address that has been used to move even 1 Satoshi out needs to be abandoned and never re-used again. Wallet addresses used for out bound transactions are therefore temporary. If you don't keep a balance in a given wallet, then theoretically, you may be able to safely re-use that address assuming no balance is kept for any length of time (i.e. you sweep accumulated balances to another address frequently).

I'd like someone from this forum to challenge or confirm the premise with backed up logic.

Can you explain why a wallet should only be used once and not re-used?
16591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mentioned on a TV show on: January 21, 2014, 05:11:29 PM
Next stop...The Apprentice!

A task on which team can make the most bitcoin by posting their referral links all over the forums.

Haha, that'd actually be a good task. I love The Apprentice and the twats on there. I wonder when the next series is?

Yeah it's always good viewing. Not sure when the next one is. I always love the introductions they give themselves right before making themselves look like idiots. 'I'm the alpha and the omega, I'm a lion and the next Apprentice'. Yeah...but do you own Bitcoin?  Tongue

Why aim for the sky when there's footprints on the moon? Why aim for the moon when there's a rover on Mars? Yeah, they're classic arrogant megalomaniacs, but you've got to be a twat/'character' to even get on there.

Series 10 has been pushed back till autumn because of the World Cup apparently. http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/apprentice-next-series-pushed-back-2652853

Haha, very true. Ah I see, I think the 'Kids Apprentice' or whatever it's called got cancelled too. Sugar was tweeting his annoyance about it.

Miniature tyrants in the making. Those little gobshites are even worse because they're just as arrogant as the pricks who are ten years older than them on the adult apprentice. Imagine what levels of douchebaggery they're going to be at in the future.
16592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin tourism - a question on: January 21, 2014, 04:57:14 PM
I'm not sure if pingit uses smartphones or regular phones also.  Mpesa works using USSD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unstructured_Supplementary_Service_Data) and SMS.  AFAIK USSD basically works on any GSM phone.

Ah, think you might need a smartphone for PingIt, so that's one draw-back.

Yeah, you do. I have the pingit app as I originally got it to buy my first Bitcoins but backed out and used PP instead. Can people chargeback on Pingit or is it safe?
16593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Save wallet.dat from multiple altcoin clients and remove the client? on: January 21, 2014, 04:50:51 PM
Hello, Is it ok just to save wallet.dat from multiple altcoin clients and remove the client?

Yes, that's fine. I'd suggest making multiple back-ups of them though on a few different mediums.
16594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, The most dangerous currency in the world? on: January 21, 2014, 04:44:14 PM

Saw the article/video on Coinbits this morning and was annoyed by it. Absolute trash.

People known to be killed over Bitcoin: 0

This is not true. Distorting facts does not help the Bitcoin cause. DPR put hits on all sorts of people for bitcoins.

Yeah, but none of them were killed and the 'hitman' was a Fed.
16595  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PAYPAL on: January 21, 2014, 04:39:24 PM
technical question
I have several bitcoins for sale but I only work payment method PAYPAL anyone know where I can sell with confidence, or any web site where you can be sure of not suffer a chargeback?

how much do you have to sell, if it's worth it we could meet and take care of the transaction

For Paypal? Doubt he's going to sell to a newb who just signed up.
16596  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: MakeBTC.org Pyramid Scheme on: January 21, 2014, 04:30:29 PM
I think it's possible to reach level 30+. Also if chinese bitcoin holders discover the site, even further levels we can see in a few months.

Why would the Chinese be interested in pyramid schemes? They tend to invest their money wisely.
16597  Other / Meta / Re: Image proxy protect people from themself? Passes exif on: January 21, 2014, 10:27:01 AM
The purpose of the image proxy is to protect people from each other (eg, IP-tracking images), not from themselves. The latter has never been the forum's job.

Yeah that makes sense. Exif filtering is an extra load.

So psa, filter exif yourself or make sure to use imgur which does it.
Is that what 'gps location info' on most phone cameras refers to?
Yes the GPS info is recorded into the exif data from a smartphone if set up to do. Most Ive seen can be disabled.

I'm pretty sure they all can be turned off in the settings of your phone.
16598  Other / Meta / Re: trust feedback on: January 21, 2014, 10:26:01 AM
I got my first trust feedback, but its under the untrusted area. Why?

how can I get it trusted?

It won't show up to everyone else as trusted though, unless they have you on their list.
