1721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 22, 2023, 10:35:07 PM
I was in a hurry to bet yesterday, so I just got one, which is the Magic vs Wizards, Magic at ML @1.92 odds.

And the Wizards are going to face the Nuggets next, it's going to be back to back for them obviously and maybe the Nuggets can steal one at the road against Washington, -6.5.

Golden State vs Dallas - GSW now a favorite on the road, hehehe, -2.5 for them. I guess Luka is still not going to play.
Hawks vs T'Wolves - It's being reported that KAT might suit up in this game that's why they become the favorite, but I will go with 4.5 for the Hawks.
1722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Game do you think is a Game of Chance or a Game of Skill? on: March 22, 2023, 10:25:54 PM
I was recently browsing the internet on a topic as to why cryptocurrency gambling games are so addictive. This topic is not only about online crypto gambling please do remember this before replying.

While going through multiple websites for my topic I found out that the online gambling industry has been growing rapidly. The growth has been significant as in 2021 the global online gambling industry size was recorded at $61.5 Billion, whereas it went up to $79.8 Billion in 2022. The rise as per my understanding is significant.

Yes, and because of the pandemic, crypto and online gambling balloon to a massive proportions, we have seen a lot of casinos being born around that time and still up to this day, they have their signature campaigns here and becoming bigger than ever. All of them are even competing to get personalities as their brand ambassador and athletes as well and for sure it will still increase in the next 5-10 years. Casinos are going to popup in this niche and there will be competitions.

While going through different websites I stumbled upon many websites which were about the top most played games in online casinos in 2021-2022. I have listed down the top 4 most played games below but my question is which one of these do you consider to be a game of skill or a game of chance?

  • Slots
  • Balckjack
  • Baccarat
  • Poker

I think Slots is a game of chance and Poker is a game of skills. Do you agree?

Slots could be one of the top most played games because you don't need skills and it's easy to learn, you just have to put your money in any slots of your choosing, it has hundreds of themes that a normal gambler can choose, enjoy, easy as that.

Blackjack and Baccarat, for those who love card games obviously, they can either go bet live with dealer or just simply video blackjack.

Poker, we are all familiar with it, it's a skill game no matter what angle you look at it.
1723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | Unified WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | May 7 on: March 22, 2023, 10:15:22 PM
It's sad to see the news that Inoue is injured. No estimated months means the injury is probably serious and training camp needs to stop. Unlucky as well for Fulton as the guy is grinding seriously to defend his belts. Maybe Fulton can take an easy tune-up to make his training camp worth it.

The original date would've been perfect to set up an undisputed match between the winners of Fulton-Inoue and Akhmadaliev-Tapales. This division is yet to get unified since the 4-belt era so hopefully, it will happen later this year or early next year. I am hoping for Marlon Tapales to score a big upset against Akhmadaliev.

Per ESPN report, the bout will be rescheduled this summer and i did a little research on what months belong to summer and i found out it starts on June and ends in August so we have to wait again for a maximum of five months to witness this fight that one of the best that this sport can offer Smiley.

Yeah, we are not familiar with what summer means for the Japanese as it is obvious that we are very different from them, hehehe. So as others have said, tune up might do good for Fulton to make him busy, just get some tomato can fighter that he can face, low risk for him but at least his body and specially his mind is going to be active while waiting for Inoue to fully heal 100%.

Speaking of Tapales, i also hope that an upset will happen just like what happened this weekend when Gesta upsets Diaz.

Definitely support Tapales against Akhmadaliev, but Gesta last week proved that anything can happen in the right, even if you are like 6:1 or 8:1 underdog. Tapales can win this fight if he can time Akhmadaliev coming in, or a hard fought match, back and forth war. Both are coming from a long lay off, but we shall see who is the first one to shake that ring rust.
1724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The future of CBDC in gambling. on: March 22, 2023, 10:05:01 PM
CBDCs are not cryptocurrencies.

Non of our concern here with fiat, CBDCs are just fiat and nothing more. If any gambling site begins to accept CBDCs which is what would later happen, they are still just accepting fiat. Our concern here is crypto, not fiat.

True, it's just like fiat to me, and it's not to have the true definition of crypto. So in any case it will be rolled out and casinos are going to accept it, then it's not going to be surprising to us. And so by definition they should be of legal tender already as it is back up by government. They might have to developed let's say a slot machine to read QR code or something to that effect if CBDC's are going to be accepted. On the other hand, it's going to be easy for anyone to be track with their CBCD, that's already a fact so anyone whose going to used it in casino will obviously leave their footprints there. Regarding the question of it being universally accepted by casinos? sure, everything that people are willing to used in a casinos then they are going to accept it. If BTC will be the next trend for them? yeah, the same, it's business for them, so it's normal and not surprising.
1725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 22, 2023, 09:50:43 PM
How about Paul George awkward landing causing injuries?

It is being evaluated but it seems that he will be out for at least a month now? It could affect the chances of Clippers in the playoffs now, as he and Kawhi as the anchor of the Clippers and it's hard to see him with that kind of injuries in the knees since we all know that he had history already.  Still very close down the stretch for the teams in the West bundled up in the 6th-12th spot. A couple of losses should spell the difference between making the playoff and being in the play-in. Although Norman Powell is set to come back, but still though, missing Paul George is going to be tough for the Clippers.
1726  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can do 30k$ this month? on: March 22, 2023, 09:38:55 PM
I think that just a few days from now the price value of bitcoin will be broken at 30k$ because its wave resistance in the graph is at 28k$ something 2 days ago it was at 27k$+ for 2 days too then now that's it.

So it's likely that today until tomorrow, the chances are high that it will reach 29k$ and then it will drop a little again to 28k$ something on the chart for sure. That's why it seems like it's hard to play day trade when that's the behavior in reality.

We have a big resistance at $28k, we have been in that price for the last 3 days, and as expected, if the price is not going to go up and break that line, then obviously the price will go down and that's what we have been in the last 4 hour timeframe.

So let's see how much push the bulls has, it goes as high as $28,300, but the selling pressures is there to make profits. Although it has something to do with the Fed rate hike decision, that's why we lost that $28k and the momentum. But rest assured that it was not only bitcoin that goes down today at -2% or higher, also the stock markets went down as well.
1727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | Unified WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | May 7 on: March 21, 2023, 11:10:29 PM
Just an update:

The fight is postponed indefinitely as Inoue suffered a injury.

https://twitter.com/ESPNRingside/status/1638267613494247427

It's going to be reschedule though as per Fulton, so the fight is definitely going to happen, we just have to wait for Inoue to make a recovery. We don't know the extend of the injury though. But in any case if Fulton can wait then good, but if he wants to get a tune up fight, to make him busy while waiting then it's his call.
1728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: March 21, 2023, 10:58:36 PM
Great move by Top Rank to give Lopez a chance to get a belt at 140 lbs, hehehe. It was supposedly a rematch between Taylor and Catterall, but Josh got injured or something and so they postponed it. However, this news surfaces a few weeks after that and Catterall was sidestep by the announcement. But he can't do anything as this is official now. Yeah, lots of issues with Josh now, his fight with Catterall was controversial, having problems making the weight limit and his injuries. And with that, Lopez will definitely be a live dog against the champion here. He doesn't look good or sharp at 140 lbs in my opinion, but this is a opportunity that he won't passed and so I'm giving him a chance to pull an upset.
1729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 21, 2023, 10:45:17 PM
I just read that Tristan Thompson has a work out with the Lakers this week. I guess he wasn’t kidding when he was talking about getting the band back together. It’s nice to see that he didn’t let Kyrie joining Dallas stop him from trying to join LeBron for another ring chase. I’m not sure if he can still play at a championship level but I think he’d be a good pickup at the price.

As far as I know, Thompson hasn't played in the league for a year now, and his stats last season were pretty mediocre, as he averaged just 6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. In other words, I wouldn't expect the Lakers to offer him a contract after this workout, as he's unlikely to be useful for them on the court. Besides, they already have Davis and a few other big guys who play the same position as Thompson.

Yeah but this is right in the Lakers playback.  They always do this and offers dudes like this a contract lol.  It's last second sc4ambling and hoping a prayer is answered.  Even if he was still decent this won't move the needle for them.  Gotta give it to them they never stop trying these reclamation projects though.

Thompson can help Lakers as a back up bigman since he can make Davis and Bamba rest on early part of the game so that they can maximize their performance until 4th quarter of the game. He might be an effective addition since he has a experience to work with LBJ so maybe they will not get a problem for adding him in a rooster. Although his performance decline but he can be a good contributor on defensive side so maybe this is what Lakers want to him if he is officially signed a contract with them.

The Lakers back is against the wall right now, they need to find a big man that will help Davis, Mo is injured if I'm not mistaken and there are no timeline for his return. Gabriel is too small to play the center and we all know that Bryant left already, but I guess it is a bad decision for him as he was not effective with the Dallas team. In any case for the Lakers, and even if Thompson hasn't play for a year, if they think that he will be a good fit as of this season or if they go to the playoff, then it will be a good acquisition for them.

Pero pinagtyagaan at tinabraho talaga sya or sila.

1731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Low demands as bitcoin declined in price. on: March 20, 2023, 11:25:23 PM
There is been low demands in the technological core about bitcoin wallets because people felt the price has not being well doing over time. I wants you to understand that the big banks and entrepreneurs are profits oriented ventures, that's why nobody wants to keep their money in bitcoin at this period of its lapses.

The demands in bitcoin is really low in figures but not in values since no big investor's are pushing their money into bitcoin but when this saga is over the same big investor's will still wants to survive through bitcoin.

Where do you get your numbers that there are low demand in BTC? Lol, have you seen the current rise in the price? Have you seen that we almost doubled the price that what we have like 5-6 months ago?

Or it is just me on the timing of this kind of threads from newbies, hehehe, it's either they just like to create FUD and buy more bitcoin or really doesn't know what's going on right now. Although technically we are still in the bear market, but having grown at the start of the year, for sure there is more demand right now as compare to last year. And regarding the argument that nobody wants to keep their money in Bitcoin, it already proven itself to be a good financial hedge, just like what we have seen during the pandemic crisis in 2020. It went down in March but later on went on a bull run, topping $60k++. So it's not a wise decision to think that BTC is not a safe haven specially with the Banking crisis that we are witnessing.
1732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: March 20, 2023, 10:59:37 PM

Maybe that's the only available dates that they can squeeze, but I think what's important is that Shakur will be able to fight in front of his hometown again justl like his last fight.

So regardless of the numbers, his fans is the sure winning here. And maybe the Japanese fighter too, he will get a good payday and then fight in the US for the first time. For Shakur just another fight, maybe it's a tune up for him in 135 lbs and then target big names later in this division. And there are a lot of them, so good for Shakur to have like a get busy fight at the start of this year.
Shakur is not a KO artist, so I would not be surprised if this fight does not earn a lot of money. Most boxers who have a lot of followers and supporters are those who can really entertain the crowd, so Shakur needs to fight a champion who is entertaining too in order to sell big numbers. Look at Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis, both are KO artists, and they are already making lots of ticket sales.

A few days to go this fight will began and think this will be a good fight as well we all know that even though they are not just Master in KO or KO artist. But still for me that will bring us a good fight. But like you said mate that this fight will not earn a lot of money then I think you are right that. It because the popularity of a boxer matters and we all know that these fighters not a very known in the world so the crowd will be lesser than other popular fighter.

Yes, Shakur Stevenson may be a 2-belt champion in his previous division but he is not that fully known yet in this industry and in this new weight class that he's in, he will be start making his name because if he can manage to defeat Yoshino (which I know he can) and end the fight with a statement, there's a huge chance that his next fights will be against the champion. It might be an interim belt or even against the undisputed champion directly.

Yep, he is just going on ranks that time, he already has name though, nut not household enough for the casual fans to recognized his him. Until he beat Herring that time, who held the WBO World Super Feather and has been tearing the division (Shakur holds the interim title). But when they fought he just dominated Herring and get this title solidifying his status. And then fought Oscar Valdez for the WBC World Super Feather in which he knock down Valdez 2x, (which also that time is bigger than Shakur in terms of name). With that win against the highly touted Valdez, his name is now on the limelight. But the true test for him will be the 135 lbs as there are a lot of great name boxers here.
1733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 20, 2023, 10:39:30 PM
Just 1 out of 2 for me, Bucks didn't cover the spread by just .5 points hehehehe, very close game indeed.

Philly vs Bulls -  Sixers is riding on a good winning streak and they are back at their homecourt, so -6.5 @ 1.62 for them. Joel Embiid playing like MVP, so I'm expecting another huge game for him and so is Harden.

Memphis vs Dallas - Same here, even without Ja Morant, Memphis is in winning form and fighting for the second spot against the Kings. So they will have to win this game against Dallas as they have the advantage at home and still without Luka if I'm not mistaken. -3.5 for Memphis @1.86. Parlay them  @3.01.
1734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | Unified WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | May 7 on: March 20, 2023, 10:30:36 PM
There could be some attractive odds for Inoue to win by KO or by Decision.

Of course a Fulton win by any other method is going to be high, but that's tough for him. But if we will go right now with a bet on Inoue, might be good by KO or by Decision. By KO because we all have seen the destructive power of Inoue and even if he is going up in weight, he might carry it with him. And if Fulton is really that tough not to crack for Inoue, he could also win by decision.
1735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs John Ryder - May 6th in Mexico on: March 20, 2023, 10:06:18 PM
This should be a really good fight, I am expecting Canelo to win this though.

Has anybody seen any early fight odds, please post any crypto bookie odds here if and when you see them.

And here are the odds now, as per Stake:

As we all expected, Ryder is 8:1 underdog, and even David Benavidez says that this is just a tune up for Canelo. And with that, no value in betting for ML here on Canelo, but if you love the underdog Ryder, then it's already a very mouth watering odds, hehehe, but the risk is very high. This is Canelo's best weight, and will be fighting in what could be the biggest live audience in the last 5-10 years because it's going to be held in Mexico. So just imagine the magnitude if he is going to lose this fight. So he will do his best to maybe end this fight quickly. I reckon the line for the Over and Under will be 7.5 rounds, let's see how bookies are going to list it.
1736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 20, 2023, 09:58:16 PM
And they are still hyping this fight even if it is just a week away from it:

https://twitter.com/BOXINGFOTY/status/1636899331344330752

This is a supposedly video of Caleb Plant getting kicked out of a boxing gym in Las Vegas for not paying his gym fees. Not sure if this is real or what or just a promotional stunt for this upcoming fight. How can a professional boxer not pay for a gym? or maybe he has his own gym as well.  And it was said the Benavidez Sr is the one who posted this video and this is not recent.

And with this, they are now trending in Twitter hehehe.

What do you guys think of it?

Lol, this is funny and just like what you have said, how come that a professional boxer or a guy with a million-dollar asset could not pay his gym fees hehe, so yeah this is just a promotional stunt to sell the fight to the fans. Have also read that this is not breaking news as this video was taken last summer.

The fight will be in the weekend and lots of options now on the bookies and i'm looking this win by Benavidez via decision @4.30 as Caleb is a tough guy to knocked out.

Hehehe, yeah and someone said that this could be an old video or maybe the owner just wanted his 10 minutes of fame and what a way to do it with Caleb as he will have a fight this weekend against "Fat Boy", that's how he addresses David Benavidez now hehehe. So really very interesting and good fight for us this weekend, I haven't put any bet yet, but we will see.

And in response, Benavidez says that he has been called fat throughout his childhood, but nevertheless, this fat boy has power and knocks most of his opponents.

David though still the favorite for this fight obviously, but we should be looking for good options to bet not just on ML if we are on David's bandwagon.

And Caleb has support from former champion Shawn Porter:

Quote
"David's spoiled with his pressure. He breaks everyone down, but I don't think he'll be able to do that to Caleb, so I’m picking Caleb in a late-round stoppage.”

1737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 3 Reasons Why Cytpocurrency Gambling is more Addictive than Fiat Gambling! on: March 20, 2023, 09:46:16 PM
It is not like everyone is going after crypto gambling but after COVID-19 the business of online gambling has increased more than offline gambling. Although fiat online gambling users are more than crypto ones, they tend to visit an offline casino after a few online sessions as they miss the atmosphere of an offline casino.

Whereas cryptocurrency casino users would always be loyal & habitual which makes them more addicted to gambling than a fiat gamblers. Below listed are the three reasons which I think make them more inclined.

1. Immediate gratification:

One explanation could be the immediate and continuous enjoyment that bitcoin gaming offers, whether you win or lose. A cryptocurrency can be swiftly converted into fiat currency or other cryptocurrencies, as opposed to traditional gambling, which typically calls for cash or chips, what I am referring to here is offline gambling. This feeling of immediate satisfaction can increase excitement and encourage players to keep playing.

Still work both ways though, I mean if the price of crypto is down, then yeah, it's better to play with our bitcoin and altcoins. But there is one thread wherein when the price of let's say BTC is going up, there are gamblers who opted not to play with their precious bitcoin, just saying.

2. Anonymity:

The amount of privacy gained by gambling with cryptocurrencies is unbelievable! Non-KYC platform, which is common may make some people feel more secure since they can offer a level of secrecy and security that more traditional forms of gambling cannot. This sense of anonymity may make it easier for individuals to engage in risky or addictive behaviors without fear of being judged or identified.

No longer that case though, we have heard horror stories already of crypto based casino asking for KYC specially if you have won big. And it's not an assurance that you are going to get paid right away even if you submitted one. So there's no such thing as No-KYC policy for casinos now.

3. Thrill of volatility:

We are all aware of how unpredictable the cryptocurrency market is, with prices varying quickly and erratically. Some people may become addicted to the "high-risk, high-reward" mentality as a result of this volatility. Even though it may result in severe financial loss, they may get high from taking chances and placing large wagers.

As I have said previously, depends on how gamblers take that volatility, there could be some individual not playing their crypto when we are in a bull run.

Do you guys think my assessment is to the point or do you think there are more reasons related to cryptocurrency gambling addiction? Please go ahead and reply to this thread. If you have a valid point that I think is related to this thread then I would add it to this topic.

Personally, I don't see that much different playing on land base casinos or crypto based sites. Of course, you can play at home that's one advantage, but as far as volatility and KYC and other factors, just the same for me, the thrill will always be there.
1738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 20, 2023, 09:34:29 PM
Grizzlies destroyed them last night. The best player for Warriors was Kuminga, that tells us something's wrong. I don't think Warriors can go far enough even if they get a spot in play-off.

"Particularly on that game", I agree with you that there's something really wrong but if that will be the focal point to determine how the Golden State Warriors will behave in the playoffs, I think that's not appropriate. What I stated previously, is "in general". Of course, things might changes as there are teams that really shown improvement this season.

Not a fan of the Warriors though and I don't really care where they will end up this year, but still, it's not that we can't expect them in an off-night mode always, especially in a series game. Well then, wait for the playoffs and see how far they will go this time.

They are truly a wildcard.  They can't get their act together on the road but are fine in front of theor home court.  Their experience will help and tight rotations means starting 5 gets a lot more run together in the playoffs.  So we'll see.  Until then I'm betting against them every road game lol

And they will still have problems in the remaining of the season:

Warriors at Toyota Center vs Houston Rockets
Warriors at American Airline Center against Dallas

They go back at Chase but then will have to face one of the hottest team right now, Philly.

So next their next 2 games will be critical before they can go home and defend their homecourt and hope for a good run before the end of the regular season and see where their standings are. And not to bring him down or something, but I'm not seeing the Warriors going back to back with their lineup.
1739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 20, 2023, 09:24:16 PM
Maybe the fact that Bivol defeated a superstar in Canelo made him increase his points.

Not just that, Bivol just turned Canelo into a punching bag that no one might expect knowing Canelo is at the peak of his career during that time.

According to some stats, 97% of bets on that match are all in favor of Canelo.

Just imagine how underdog Bivol is prior to that fight. -440 was given to him which is equivalent to 18% winning the fight. Cheesy

Yeah, that time we never knew how that fight will turn out, but maybe majority never heard of Bivol, how good and fast he is as LHW and Canelo is really riding on a winning streak and everyone he faces at 168 lbs was destroyed by him. And everyone see him as invincible even if he is going up in weight. His camp are even talking of going as high as CW, and at LHW, he had won a belt already so we think that he will just steamroll the champion in Bivol. And another important thing is that he or someone in his camp may have the judges under their pocket, to just make sure that he is going to win. But they were all wrong and Bivol won although it's a bit controversy as I have said because the judges was trying to make the score closer or at least hoping to get a draw.
1740  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much return are we expecting next bull run? on: March 20, 2023, 09:14:50 PM
Have been in crypto just over a year now so have yet to experience a bull market and up till now I have just bought and held.

Currently my portfolio is 10% down and am not planning on selling any until I 2x at least.

Bitcoin takes up 30% of my portfolio with the rest in altcoins.

What is everyone expecting in 2024/25 bull run? Is a 10x a good return or should we be hoping for more?

Taking into consideration the last all time high? and like multiplying it with 2.5-2.6x (based on the last numbers that we are getting every 4 year high), maybe we can see a rough estimate as how big the next bull run will be in 2024/25. So maybe around $100k-$200k (this is a guess or estimate).

I'm not sure though why your portfolio just takes 30% of BTC. On the contrary, perhaps majority here could have more BTC in their pocket like 60% or more and then the rest is altcoins. Anyhow, yeah, we are still far from the next bull run, bitcoin halving is around last week of March to first week of April, so still have 12 months of continuing to DCA and stack sats. And then after the we can still accumulate even in the bull market. But obviously the time is right now since the price is still very cheap and easy to acquire.
