1901  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken.com always the error: Invalid username or password on: December 02, 2020, 07:02:29 PM
I don't think their support team are still active here, you'd have to try other platforms as your problem requires kraken's staff to be solved.

Try to escalate your ticket number in their subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/KrakenSupport/) by starting a thread and filling out this form (http://www.kraken.com/escalate-your-ticket). There's also twitter: https://twitter.com/krakenfx
1902  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Funds in my coinbase vault stuck for very long time on: November 26, 2020, 11:22:04 AM
Hmm.. are you from US op? maybe try joining this class action and while at it, slip the fact that you did in your ticket. Worth a shot, you wont lose anything. Im not sure if non-US citizen can join tho, wouldn't hurt to ask them if you are.

btw, how many upboats did your reddit thread had?
1903  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Black friday offers ~ Please help in creating the list. on: November 24, 2020, 06:49:35 PM
People who did a black friday sale in the past usually do it again the following year so probably check this too: Black Friday 2019

and maybe add the duration of each of them.
1904  Economy / Exchanges / Re: coinbase identity info on: November 20, 2020, 06:29:44 PM
I dont really care what Coin base knows I just dont want them sharing the info

Coinbase has done it in the past with the authorities (ref), don't see a reason why it wouldn't happen again. But pretty much every centralized exchanges has the tendency to share their users info to third parties so I'd stay away if that's my concern. Downside to it is you'd be sacrificing convenience.
1905  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Funds in my coinbase vault stuck for very long time on: November 17, 2020, 11:51:16 PM
@posi, op still hasn't completed approving the two confirmation emails needed for the withdrawal to go thru because coinbase nuked their secondary one. (similar prob from another user)

@op, what you can do rn is to keep trying to get coinbase's attention. Bother them in every channel they have, if you want you can tell them about this thread or whichever that has the most views/engagement
1906  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain second password on: November 04, 2020, 11:38:40 AM
Maybe you didn't take time to explore the wallet quite enough and therefore never had it enabled, but have you taken time to read through the responses in the thread?
Because if you did, nc50lc confirms that feature is still there with even a screenshot. Here is the link in case you would like to see the magnified version: https://imgur.com/LlI0ie6

They also said it could be for old accounts only. But I'm not sure how old 'cause I don't see it on my 2016 blockchain.com wallet, same with the new account I just created. It's also possible that there maybe other conditions to be met.
1907  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Accusation: HITBTC WITHDRAW KYC DECOY on: October 28, 2020, 11:59:17 PM
So, they made me go through all that process knowing I'm from America and sent a email saying I am not allow to use the platform being from the US. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Really?....

It's their way of confirming you're actually a citizen there.

So people don't give up your coins to these people....

Do not give up a cent to these people....

I'd like to say the same but if someone has the luxury of abandoning their account along with the money on it---losing that amount wont greatly affect your living, then doit 'cause it's not worth giving bunch of your personal info/documents to hitbtc.

Also, since your old ID is expiring this december 1st, it isn't valid for 3 months anymore which is their requirement, so on that part, they were right to consider it outdated.
1908  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashRange.com :: Reviews on: October 14, 2020, 10:31:31 PM
There are factors that affects mining hence why a guaranteed fixed amount of profit over a period of time is impossible.

Let's not forget their fake cryptocurrency. Deposit and withdrawal is impossible, you can only buy and sell them on their website. It's safe to say that it's not in an actual chain but just digits on their website.

Overly high returns which would be impossible thru their cloud mining business.

Reading thru their telegram, this looks like a recent change so users are locked out of their funds cause they pretty much don't want anyone to withdraw it. You cant use it to buy a contract either.

It's gonna collapse one day and they are showing signs now, stay away.
1909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Yobit DOWN??? on: October 14, 2020, 02:13:09 PM
It works fine on my end. It could be that it's just you. Try accessing the website in a different device and browser--and clean their cookies and cache. Turn off your vpn too if youre using one.

If that doesn't work, I'd restart the router.
1910  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: lost secondary password and some of Wallet Recovery Phrases lost too. on: October 13, 2020, 01:32:58 PM
I have my back up phrase. Is that enough???

Just to make sure of which version of their wallet you have, how many words does it contain? and do they match what's on this word list https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039/english.txt?
1911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I need Help finding or recovering bitcoins off an old hard drive on: October 08, 2020, 10:29:36 AM
Blockchain.com before switching to HD wallets did have paper wallet as another form of backup. I'm not sure when did it became a thing in blockchain.com but definitely not 10 years ago cause their wallet service weren't around that time.

But still, this is what they look like and you can compare them to yours. (both source are from 2014)

1. Tutorial: Backup Basics! The Best Ways to Backup Your Blockchain Wallet (It doesn't look like a private key to me, not sure if it's intended that way because it's just a sample)
2. Blockchain.info Paper Backup Stores Private Keys in the Browser History (LOL)

Your old email accounts might have some trace of which wallet you've used. It's worth looking into them.
1912  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins Scamming people with EDD Verification Scam | How to hold them acco on: October 07, 2020, 08:38:46 PM
What they want me to do? IF THEY NOT UNBLOCK ACCOUNT I OPEN SOLUTION HERE:

We need to make website with NAME/SURNAME Addresses Family Addresses Kids Addresses of ALL WHO OWNS AND WORKING FOR THIS MONEY-STEALING COMPANY localbitcoins.com

I invite everyone who been scammed by them. We will know their addresses, make websites with them and will share the info until hurt.

Add me #Telegram for more info if you also been blocked by this unhumanity: kabon13

That actually could make things worse for you op. If you succeeded, it wouldn't be weird if localbitcoins close their entire services to you without giving a cent back.

Try to calm down and don't involve people who has nothing to do with this.

what you can do pretty much are:

1. follow up regularly thru their support
2. post your story in various communities to get their attention (you can indirectly make them know its existence)
3. consult with a lawyer

also requires a ton of patience.
1913  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Paxful is a scam ? on: October 07, 2020, 06:56:10 PM
Make no mistake, I am also against it. But if after OP has exhausted all possible means and Paxful remains adamant and would still not release his/her Bitcoins, I guess it is probably reasonable to try considering his/her last resort options.

It doesn't make a difference. The fair chance that op could get caught and suffer the consequences from doing so still remains, which again would bring more trouble than what they originally had.

Quote from: Darker45
Depending on the amount, OP cannot just call it quits. Or perhaps he/she could start taking legal steps, which could be more complicated and costly.

Yeahh. If op would be spending more that what they lost, it's better not to go through it. Consulting with a lawyer regarding the chances and options should help in seeing the big picture.
1914  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Paxful is a scam ? on: October 07, 2020, 10:25:45 AM
That's not going to work since he already submitted the passport. The name on the proof of address document must match the one in the passport.
Oh, yeah, I overlooked he already submitted it, now it seems like there's no way to get OP's funds out there.

In which case, if I were the OP, after trying in vain to reach out to them in all available avenues, I might resort to submitting bogus documents just to pass address verification. This is wrong and illegal and I am not recommending it, but it seems the OP can't expect anything from its inutile customer support. And, after all, this KYC thing is already rotten to the core.

That could potentially land you to more trouble, I'm against it. It's a serious crime and there's most likely a legal consequence if op's caught in the act. Their data is even on Jumio's database which makes tracking op easier. There's simply too much risk.

How much are we talking about here tho @op?
1915  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Paxful is a scam ? on: October 06, 2020, 07:23:25 PM
Support team is active-ish in their subreddit, try your luck there (https://www.reddit.com/r/paxful/). I'd post the link here if I were you, so ppl can help you with the upboats.

Not sure how high are the chances of succeeding, but they also have a form where you can escalate your ticket number

If you have any issues and you haven't heard back from our support team within 1-3 days, please use our Paxful Escalation Form so we can help: https://tinyurl.com/paxfulhelp

Since you're already there, might as well crosspost it in other cryptocurrency centered subreddits-- could also help if they saw it posted in two or more communities
1916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Openbazaar needs your support on: October 02, 2020, 01:37:45 PM
The tweet mentioned that the donation was only good for until the end of this year, however.

Also, this does not change the description that Openbazaar might be something similar to a webbrowser that is only wanted by a very small segment of users.

and the article doesn't say anything about the donor which extends their services until this year (cause they didn't update it). A person would be convinced they shut down yesterday (oct 1), had they only read the outdated article. It's not an update that can be shrugged off.

Openbazaar didn't try to launch a token as well and I guess, they could have succeeded if they just launched a token to build a community.  I don;t think its too late for it.

Doubt. It will most likely be used to trade in an exchange rather than a currency to be used in their platform, therefore would only form a pump and dump community and wouldn't significantly increase their platform userbase.
1917  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think about the BitSeven platform? on: October 01, 2020, 04:31:07 PM
@voodox, Just to be sure, ignore the newbies above, they are not happy customers but shills, check their post history.

Be careful with bitseven. They could be operating with a lapsed license.

No information about the team behind and their exact location is available to public. Stick to established exchanges.
1918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Openbazaar needs your support on: September 30, 2020, 11:47:58 AM
The article is outdated, they were able to secure funds for until this year so those supporting services to OB and their app won't shutdown in Oct 1. The end game doesn't change though, unless they can fix what they lacked-- enough users/working business model.  Relying on donations to run without enough userbase won't work either as it is unsustainable.

BREAKING NEWS!

An anonymous donor has agreed to cover the costs to run OpenBazaar infrastructure through at least the end of the year.

and looks like OB1 won't be the main dev?

The future of @openbazaar will be more independence from @OB1Company. More news on that soon.
1919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you store your seed? on: September 29, 2020, 01:39:17 PM
I heard of cryptosteel where its fireproof and floodproof so that works?  But isn't the issue if someone finds it, well its pretty easy to see oh why is there a bunch of long words and some ppl might even figure out its the seed to a wallet

You can set up accounts that can only be accessed if someone has the seed + passphrase (more about this: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005214529-Advanced-Passphrase-options) which would divide your funds between non-passphrase protected and passphrase protected. Then you can make the former act as a dummy wallet in case of wrench attack or when someone gets ahold of your 24 seed backup, and there's a high chance they'll be convinced that's all you've got.

Not telling anyone you're holding cryptocoins also helps in minimizing physical attacks since thieves sets targets.
1920  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin exchange detected a large withdrawal. Provably Hacked? on: September 28, 2020, 01:37:08 PM
So they started an insurance fund in 2018 but there's no trace of it. It doesn't make sense that you would not announce something that could potentially bring more users...

even their reddit mods have never heard of it

As a global exchange, security is one of our top priorities. We developed all the infrastructure and systems by our own to ensure its stability and security.

We have plenty of security mechanisms to protect the digital assets of our users and we are working with many 3rd parties like Chainalysis, white-hats to improve the security level.

We know that a few exchanges set up a fund after being hacked while we do not have such a thing at KuCoin. It is because we care more about how to prevent such things from happening. While of course, if any users suffered losses because of our fault, we will take the responsibility to solve the problem, and cover the losses.

(They dodged it) A year ago
Protecting users’ privacy and assets from infringement is our priority. Through a combination of account security features, frequent updates to our security policy, and vigilant monitoring of system security, we are prepared to take immediate measures for any abnormalities. Thank you!

They do have an insurance fund in their futures platform but this was established on 2019 and it doesn't look like it is made for hacking losses but instead for liquidation losses. Well, I guess they could use it for this incident, but the problem is, it's nowhere near enough (https://futures.kucoin.com/contract/history-fund) cause it barely makes $1M.
