5Ghs? No point mining with that it would earn you more if you sold it as a paperweight/doorstop. I hope you didn't pay too much for it. You need something in the Ths range of mining power to even start thinking about earning anything nowadays.

I'm running all three boards. Heat wise it will keep the room warm (only a small room) no problem. Waiting on a replacement fan for the rear as it's bottomed out at 2400rpm whereas the front is down to 1680rpm.

Temps are 45-48pcb and around 70chip iirc. Would like to get it up a bit more so when the new fan turns up I may up the freq slightly to keep it running warmer.

Needless to say I don't need any additional heating in the room, radiator is turned off and it's still 20c which is perfect.

Incase anyone was wondering. The S9 can be made quieter if you want to underclock it. I've got mine running at 200m pulling 430w at the wall getting 4.2Th and it's nicely located under my desk.

could you tell me when last batch was sold out?

About two weeks ago they sold out of the latest batches. They sold out within hours of being put on sale.

There is no amount of words that can change anything. To get more blocks we would need a higher hashrate, but who's to say that we would get the blocks then anyway. Imagine a massive selection of draws all bundled together. There are 10 green straws among 1000 red straws. You have to find the green straws while blindfolded. If you're lucky you'll get them quickly. If not you would work through 990 straws before you got any greens. Now if you had five more people (all blindfolded) then all of you could choose at the same time. You would work through them quicker but you could well find that you still pick 990 red straws before you get any greens. Or you may find them all quickly. There is no way to know. It is what it is....luck.

Don't need this anymore. Bought two from www.eyeboot.com

There is a good amount of different kind of fans available, so why bother.  Wink

Very true lol.

And there's me thinking botmain would fork out for something specific for their miners  Cheesy Cheesy
1990  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB S9 Front Fan 120x38mm 4pin on: November 26, 2016, 03:44:25 PM
So the ones that come with the Antminers aren't special ones then? They are just generic delta fans?
1991  Economy / Computer hardware / WTB S9 Front Fan 120x38mm 4pin on: November 26, 2016, 02:00:50 PM
Hi,

I'm after a front fan for an S9 the larger blade type not the smaller blade type. I think they were fitted to the S7 aswell.

Only after one as I've got a feeling it's dear fan that causss the whining.

I'm in the UK so a UK seller would be preferred.

Thanks for the reply numnutz. That's what prompted the question to be honest Wink just thought I'd ask here than search the sea of google for a specific answer  Cheesy

Something as described above would be ideal for me to be honest.

Quick question regarding fans. If I were to change the fans out to a 3pin 120x38 fan and use a 3to4pin adaptor cable what issues would it cause? Would the fans run flat out as its only a 3pin fan?
1994  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 24, 2016, 04:31:56 PM
I'm happy to pay a little more for a quality product built for community miners and focused on our needs directly rather than ultimate "cost per Ghs" numbers. The fact it will be just as good and give us the ability to tinker and adjust to our hearts content (unlike a certain ASIC manufacturer....cough cough....shitmain) is well worth the additional cost. Plus I've always been a fan of paying a little extra to support a small busines.

You do know there is a supper thread in the same section as this thread  Roll Eyes

Maybe try in there as your question has probably been answered before.  Wink

Could it be that you mean this tiny, small, hardly ever read or commented on thread?

 Grin

That might possibly be the one I was referring too. But so many pages I'm not sure if everything has been answered already  Cheesy

WOOHOO!!!!

Now we've just got to watch all the hashrate start to come back again like it did before.
1998  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 20, 2016, 08:40:35 PM
Well what d'ya know, she lives!  Albeit at a lower hashrate than before 11.5Ghs avg. Meh, aslong as she chooches and gets shares then so be it.
1999  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 20, 2016, 04:03:39 PM
Well she's had a good life since I've known here. Time to use her as a template for the other two gekkos so I can mount them on a big copper heatsink.
2000  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 20, 2016, 03:25:29 PM
So ive got a bitshopper version of the gecko #10000031 (yep an early one) and its suddenly going crazy. Set to 215mhz for the past 12 days and been running at 12Ghs no problem. Until today. It drops out and then when hotplugged it comes back and does 18-20Ghs and a ridiculous high HW Error rate and gets really hot.

Ive hotplugged it few times and each time the same thing. The other two sticks running off the same hub and pi are fine (ive got a fan pointed at all of them too).

Anyone have any ideas?
