I want to tidy up the cables on my hobby rig and just checking that it would be safe to use a 6pin splitter so i can run one card and one riser (one 6pin socket on each totalling 70-75w) from one 6pin cable.
Thanks.

Ive found the same thing. I use my cpu for mining but on a low level. My AB isnt even the beta version its the normal version but still find it a struggle to change settings lately. Never used to be that way.

5x ASUS Dual GTX1060's, i3-7300T, Asrock Z270 Pro4 120GBssd running off platinum server psu, total power usuage 400w. It can be done.
You have to undervolt the 1060 quite a lot to achieve that. 60% tdp hashrate is around 22.5-23Mh each on eth and 110hs pasc dual mining.

Ive got a kaby lake i3-7300t 35w tdp and running 5 1060's and cpu mining monero without any problems at all.

My cpu will mine it until it dies. Its sitting there using electricty anyway so may aswell use it.

Hashing efficiency is set when the chip is manufactured. You can adjust how hard the chip works by set the frequency in the GUI. The harder you make it work the more electricity the miner will use.

You want the power consumption of the S3 to be 50% load on the psu for peak efficiency. So if the S3 is 350w you want a 700/750w psu. If you arentnworried about efficiency then you want at least 150-200w overhead on the psu as no psu likes to be run at 100%load.

So you ignore my first question and keep saying its a virus. Its not a virus. Ive had three versions of claymore and none of them have triggered virus software. If they ever did i would just add it to the exceptions list.

I assume youve sorted out any problems with windows that are caused when switching mobos?
Did you create a new .bat file for the new v10.0 Claymore? I do it just as a matter of course.

Ive currently got i3-7300T only 35w and mines Monero at 68hs. Going to upgrade to an i5-7500T (35w) and hopefully get a bit kore hashrate for monero. Its complete overkill for a rig but if its going to sit there and do nothing i may aswell get the best i can afford and have it mining something.

Weve all been starting out at one point buddy so dont worry. You would get a better answer from the members in the "mining (altcoins)" section further down the main page of the forum. This section is strictly bitcoins and cpu/gpu mining is no good for bitcoins, only altcoins.

So checked out the monerobenchmarks site and older processors are getting like 100hs my i3 is only doing 63hs

Cheers for the reply. So i currently have an i3-7300T on my mining rig and was going to upgrade to an i5-7500T or possibly and i7. Would the hashrate be better because of the processing speed or th fact the i5 has 6mb cache and the i7 has 8mb cache?
|
|
|
Bit of a noob question but cant seem to find the answer. What does Monero rely on? The processong speed or the amount of cache the cpu has?
Thanks.

Had the same issue. Switch the fans to "auto" on afterburner or whatever OC software you are using. Ive not had a problem since. It must be some kind of bug where if it sees fixed speed for so long it assumes its not spinning. Auto will vary the speed so it knows its slinning.

Ive found a stability difference on my two regular gtx1060's (yes i know this is for 1070's) compared to my three OC versions. OC ones can clock higher and be more stable.

Thats just a silencer from a hydroponics system. Probably cheaper if you found the same thing under a hydroponics listing. Almost guranteed theyve increased the price to take advantage.

So ive got 6x ASUS Dual 1060 6gb cards running on Asrock Z270 Pro 4 mobo (win10) running Claymore 9.8. Ran great for a few days on a very stable clock and then suddenly today the hashrate on 3 cards dropped by 5Mh each. All have been running fine until today. Has anyone experienced this before?

Also arent nvidia drivers encrypted or something?
