2001  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB][UK] Antminer S7-LN on: November 20, 2016, 02:26:38 PM
I may have one for sale in a few weeks. I've got an S9 on the way and need time to set it up to run quieter if I can.

My S7LN has been modified (by sidehack) to run more efficiently than the standard model by tweaking the core voltage of the chips. It has only 100 HW errors within the last 27days which shows as 0.0000% on the GUI.

It won't have a psu or a bracket to hold the psu though as I didn't need them in my install.

price?

No idea what they go for so open to offers (plus shipping to wherever you are in the world).

im in swedenyou?, i dont know ive been buying s7 for 200 each so tell me ?

I can get more than that on eBay locally so I don't think we could work anything out with shipping to Sweden (from the UK) on top of that aswell.

Looks like another scammer. No replies and no following through on previous deals.

I'm very much a newbie at CKPool and mining in general,

Is there any way to consolidate payments or do we always get paid for each individual block the pool mines? I've only got one Antminer S7 currently keeping my flat warm for winter. I signed up for CKPool and mined for a few days but when I look in my wallet there are (let's say) 20 payments from CKPool of about 1mBTC each rather than one payment of 20mBTC. I don't think it is going to be easy to spend all these individual mBTC, it would be like buying a used car with a sack full of pennies rather than with a couple of hundred dollar bills. Have I missed an obvious setting?

I had that exact same problem when I went to buy an S9. Had to send fro one address to another with a really high tx fee (0.01) and then from that address to the seller. Absolute PITA! But that's the problem with us smaller miners on kano. Not slating the pool in anyway, just sharing my experience Smiley

On a positive note, once that big tx fee is done, all your small payments are consolidated...at least until more build up.

I'm happy to buy some btc from you for PayPal. Check my feedback for various trades with PayPal.

If you want to send first please send $30 worth of btc (at preev rate 0.04) to the" 1GTAddict" address in my profile.

Then PM me your PayPal address and I will send over the $30 as friends&family /gift as soon as it has one confirmation on the blockchain.

Thanks.

I'm definitely happy to have a preorder system whwre we put a deposit down so you can use that to buy chips/materials. Not fussed how long the lead time is (obviously once the chips are confirmed).
2008  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Do you think Bitmain make better than 16nm in future? I think no. on: November 18, 2016, 06:03:17 PM
Just look for the next big hashrate jump on the blockchain. That will be the newest gear being switched on. Most companies in any field of research and development have things in the pipeline years before they get released. Bitmain is no different they would already be working on more efficient miners before the S9 was even bought out. The chip development is one thing but the programming and communication of the chip into a pcb and eventually miner is another. They probably already have 14nm chips but just making money out of the 16nm chips for as long as possible (look at the prices of the miners, they don't go down when they release new batches) then once they have figured out how best to incorporate the 14nm asic into a miner they will build them for themselves and earn from them inhouse. Only once someone else builds something competitive they will release it to the public and earn even more.

Lets just hope when that day comes that its better than the last few batches of S9's.

If he doesn't listen to that letter which tells him exactly what we (the community) want and how many of use are willing to pay for it rather than bitmain with there dysfunctional asics and warranty, then he and bitfury are fools.

Fingers crossed!!!
2010  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 17, 2016, 08:59:56 PM
I'm happy to pay a little more. As you've said though you need to do minimal alterations to make a product that will hopefully provide enough profit to fund the main project which is more involved. A U3 style miner would be great I think. If it's got the barrel jack it could be run from a breakout board like the grid seeds etc with 6pin pcie input and screw terminal outputs, which I'm sure many people have laying around somewhere or you could develop one (not sure how cheap it would be to produce but it's down your street for psu bits). I'm just thinking and typing at the same time so these ideas are probably over/under thought  Cheesy

The pod miner would be the favourite I think as it would be easier to run for people and it wouldn't be as limiting as running things of USB, but a 2pac stick is definitely a winner as it doesn't change much from the existing form and would still be feasible to use on an existing setup i.e swap a single chip gekko out for a 2pac version.

Does sound like its going to be a fantastic little miner. I cannot wait to get my hands on one (at least)!! As soon as I have earnt some btc back from an S9 I purchased (spent all my btc) ill drop a donation in the 1burger pot Smiley
2012  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 17, 2016, 05:28:49 PM
Sounds freak in awesome for a mining desk tinker toy!! Now an important question....is it going to have blinking lights?

I like the fact the gekkos have them so you actually know they are working. Not just the standard on-off-on perfectly monotonous blinking.
2013  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 17, 2016, 06:21:10 AM
I like both ideas. As for the heatsink I've been looking at 1U passive copper heatsinks to attach my three gekkos too so I don't need the fan aswell. Low form factor, a decent enough heat dissipation and a square/rectangular shape for ease of design.

I know of one member that's bought theee machaines frlm them. I don't think they are the newest batches and it's debatable if they are really new and not cleaned well after being used. But three machines have been bought and three arrived and worked so.

I haven't ordered anything personally from them but have messaged them and they have been quick to reply to an enquiries (given the time zone difference).
2015  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Newbie Question on: November 16, 2016, 10:17:53 PM
No put them under different worker names so you can identify if one is having a problem username.S9a, username.S9b, username.S9c or some other method of differentiating them from eachother.
2016  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Newbie Question on: November 16, 2016, 10:06:07 PM
www.bitminter.com

Been mining with them since I started just under a year ago. Great pool. Going through a tough patch at the minute (but all pools do at some point). Well worth putting as a backup as the payouts will be bigger than other pools although less frequent.

Use a free image hosting site like Imgur or Photobucket, the copy and paste the URL link for the picture. Easy enough to do all from a smartphone Wink

Trying a little boost.  You never know.   Smiley

http://rig.rent/rigs/25525

I've got the first one for 5 hours and the second one for 6 hours.  That drains my funds completely.  I hope it freaking works.

If I had any decent amount of btc left (just bought my first decent miner S9) then id do the same. Good luck!!!!!!
2019  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 16, 2016, 02:36:30 PM
I know on my S7LN when the temp dropped below 48degress it would drop a board. 52+ is better and runs with no problems at all.
2020  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 15, 2016, 09:17:31 PM
From what BitmainWarranty said further up this thread, there is short turn around time for the repair of most boards. This would surely indicate a common problem on most boards that is likely to fail. Surely making us aware of this common problem might help miners from losing hashing time sending boards for repair?
