2081  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 04, 2016, 05:00:09 PM
No, the auction sticks are a real thing and will go out in the next couple weeks.

Sweet, got a tad confused. But yes a multi chip USB would be a great addition to the USB collection. Ill have to change the current setup now though  Roll Eyes
2082  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 04, 2016, 04:46:22 PM
Multi-chip USB stick is good for me aswell.  Grin

Does that mean the auction sticks are now a no go? Would the equivalent value be put towards the new USB sticks?
2083  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 03, 2016, 08:39:55 PM
Well that definitely sucks then as (like you HagssFIN) its 20% here plus fees by the postal service for doing the "paperwork" for it.
2084  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 03, 2016, 08:32:11 PM
What do Bitmain put on the Customs Declaration when they send the miners? Do they list the real value of the equipment or do the "adjust" it to help customers out?

Only reason I ask is that the customs duty would kill me having a new miner (which is needed as I would like to make a profit for once).
2085  Bitcoin / Mining / Bitmain and customs declaration on: November 03, 2016, 05:57:59 PM
So do Bitmain actually fill out the customs declaration with the miners full value or do they reduce it to try and help customers out and save money on import duty?

Anyone know?

So who fancies sorting this block out then? Because quite frankly I've had enough of it  Roll Eyes

Seriously though what does happen if it hits 100%? Is it going to be like the "millennium bug"?
2087  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 03, 2016, 05:44:09 PM
Hopefully everything else cooperates and I actually get past prototyping. Right now I only have enough sample chips to build one; it'd be nice to get enough to make several and send them out for testing and review like I did with the BM1384 Compacs. It'd be really great if I could have 'em out in time for Christmas, but even if I had a working design now it'd be two weeks before I could build one and at least five weeks before production started.

But it'll be worth the wait I'm sure. I'm trying to keep a lid on the excitement for the USB stick I won in the auction  Cheesy
2088  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 03, 2016, 05:21:43 PM
So they are going downhill with the quality.
I don't like all this info about problems with the autofreq models, so that's why I ordered another S9 11.85Th/s regular model from www.eastshore.xyz. This is my second order from them, first one came nicely and it is beefy one with 662Mhz OC 14.1Th/s  Smiley

Just taken a look at their website. It says the "Customs Declaration" for the S9 11.85Th is $90. Did you have this with your orders HagssFIN? As that's half the problem if I were to order direct from Bitmain. Id get stung for customs duty and VAT for hundreds of pounds (GBP).
2089  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: November 03, 2016, 05:05:59 PM
Anyone know when the R4 will be back for sale?

Since its getting colder, I really would like to spend the $150/month on power the next few months as electrical heating in the house instead of my garage!

I emailed bitmain directly and was just told they had sold out due to high demand (duh  Roll Eyes ). No actual dates or even mention a ballpark of when/if they will be available again. I assume they are doing the same sort of thing to the R4 as they did with the S9....fucking up the firmware with auto-tune crap that doesn't work properly and takes 20-30mins to boot up and start hashing.
2090  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 03, 2016, 05:02:35 PM
Glad to hear that the auctions did well and that you're planning to cram so much information into the new pod miner. Its been long overdue to have a miner that gives all the details/features you want.

2091  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: help please on: November 01, 2016, 06:55:12 PM
As said eBay would be your best chance although prices are quite high there. You can buy new from Bitmain but expect delivery and customs charges to be applicable. Also you must be aware that most machines are very noisy so you won't be able to run it under your desk at your office.
2092  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling 41ths farm 2.8k u pay shipping Mutual Escrow on: October 27, 2016, 09:34:20 AM
Pretty sure it doesn't. It's the lack of interest that buries a thread quicker.
2093  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: October 26, 2016, 04:13:42 AM
I don't see how the R4 is at all profitable; I've done the math and at 10 cents a kilowatt this thing is really not profitable at all maybe just maybe a few bucks profit after over year of running 24 hours a day if prices stay where they are now.

That's the thing is priced too high. It was almost the same as a 12Th S9 when it was on sale.
2094  Economy / Auctions / Re: GekkoScience miscellaneous auction for 16nm miner dev funding on: October 25, 2016, 04:38:41 PM
Sidehack,  I've PM'd you about payment and delivery etc to the UK. I may be unavailable as I'll be flying to New York early tomorrow morning (7am GMT) for 5 days but will be able to contact you after I've landed.

Just a heads up as I don't want to lose out on the USB stick  Wink
2095  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: 30$ btc for 38$ paypal on: October 25, 2016, 11:44:26 AM
Your rate is too high.

I can do $33paypal for your $30btc but you send first as you have no feedback rating. If you agree send the btc to the address at the bottom of my post and PM me your paypal address.

Otherwise, good luck with finding a trader.
