The match between Paul and Nadal is about to start. Nadal is the clear favourite in this match. Especially since Paul is currently going through a weak phase at the end of the season. He has won against Bautista Agut before. But Bautista had not shown a good performance. And so far Paul has always been knocked out in the second round in Paris. That will probably be the case again this time.

Not so!
Paul is through after beating Nadal in 3 sets. I saw the first set and thought Nadal's serve
was not great, he was giving a lot of errors there. Paul broke Nadal in the first game of
the first set but Nadal still won that, Paul won the second in a tie break and surprisingly won
the third 6-1. Bear in mind Nadal had a lengthy a sense from the tour and was was back here
to get some game time in for the finals.

I was going to bet on this match but didn't know which way to go so I held off, I probably
would have gone with Nadal though.

Nice one Trofo, I wouldn't feel comfortable betting on Dimitrov TBH.

Just watched Fritz v Simon, Gilles has won another match to knock Fritz out, this is a bit
of a fairytale last tournament for him, I dont think many people expected him to go this far.

Back on Rune, he knocked out Hurkacz and with Felix AA just about winning today it means
he goes through to the ATP finals!

I had three bets on today, Medvedev, Felix AA and Alcaraz
2083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: <Bitcoin Creation> Dr. Craig Faketoshi Failed another Satoshi Test Again. on: November 02, 2022, 06:39:08 PM
If Craig is Satoshi and Satoshi is a liar then all it's clear now  Grin

I don't know why that guy keeps up on a fight that he knows it's impossible to win, he is just wasting time and money for nothing, if he really was Satoshi then should focus in how to make bitcoin better and not keep pushing with his fork, he is just trying to steal others work and failing hard in the process.

Eventually it will all come to a head or as we say here "run out of road" and the overwhelming
opinion by EVERYBODY will come to bear so heavy on him and his backers they there will be no
smoke and mirrors, no shady tricks or sleight of hand dealings to rely on - it's just a matter
of time - the clock is ticking.
2084  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🎃 [ANN] Bitcointalk Bitcoin Pumpkin Carving Contest 🎃 on: November 02, 2022, 08:54:50 AM

Rules - The only rule is that your creation has to include some sort of pumpkin, gourd, squash or something of that ilk.  If you want to incorporate 3D printed stuff, NFT's, coins, whatever, all the better!  There will only be one entry per person (but this can include a bulk of items together (i.e. a 3 pumpkin set with a drawing next to it, for example).

Edit:
As for the rules, yes , it MUST be bitcoin related in some fashion. If it’s just some regular pumpkin, without any bitcoin anything connected to it, it does not qualify.

A bit pity that the rules of the contest were updated right after the submission date has passed Smiley

Nope, as mentioned before the thread title really does point out what the contest is about,
also on page 4 ChiBitCTy directed people to include Bitcoin in their work. I can't understand
how anyone could submit work into a "Bitcoin" themed contest without actually having anything
related to Bitcoin....

Love the posts but guys…please read the rules if you want to be eligible for prizes. Most people aren’t following them. BTC must be incorporated in some way. Being a btc forum it’s kinda the whole point. I created a second contest to try and make this doable for anyone in the world who can have US items sent to them. But whether in contest one or two, need to be btc related please.  Awesome stuff tho !
2085  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: THE UNNECESSARY PRESSURE FOR MERITS on: November 02, 2022, 07:18:40 AM
The forum, is just like every other online forum or group
You can't have an extra income from posting in every other online forum. You can't call the administrator an asshole without punishment in every other online forum. Every other online forum doesn't have sixty million written messages in its board. Bitcointalk is different. It has character.

I still don't find the title very relevant.

The title is only relevant for newbies and the competition they think they are in to rang up
in all sorts of ways just as Upgrade00 posted.

It is totally unnecessary to be so focussed on the merit system, patience and taking
the time to learn are important aspects to growing into the forum.

it's true though that the forum is very different from others. We have to have the
largest community online ??
2086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 02, 2022, 06:43:08 AM
It was a busy day yesterday and another today with some very interesting matches to come
particularly keeping an eye on Rublev and Hurkacz who are in the race for the ATP finals.
Both won over their opponents yesterday so the two of them are still fighting to get into Turin.
Can't believe that Coric lost against Moutet and it's totally unexpected not watching this match, but I'm sure enough to put this match in a multi bet but sadly the outcome of the match spoiled the bet.

From what I think or remember of Moutet, he tends to have great performances at "home"
tournaments.

I watched the Rune Wawrinka match last night and was hoping my bet on Stan would pay
but he lost in a third set tie break to Rune.

Stan has been a long time favourite of mine and seems to be getting back in shape but Rune
has a lot of confidence lately and now faces Hurkacz, who himself needs to win this one.

All the big guns are in action today, Alcaraz, Djoko, Medvedev and Nadal.
2087  Other / Meta / Re: The Reason why you chose your username on: November 01, 2022, 10:24:30 PM
Pretty simple — I chose my username simply because the 3 characters sort of relates to me in some way, but at the same time with it not giving away any details about my personal information. But really, I don't know why people on Bitcointalk sort of over-analyzes usernames; it's really not that important at all.

In general with my usernames outside of Bitcointalk though? I mostly just use random crap lol.

and I always thought it was car related, I always think of the Ford Escort mk4, particularly
the XR3i

Will we see more of this type of celebration? anyway, congratulations to Daniil Medvedev, quick question: Daniil Medvedev is Russian, how was he not covered by the sanctions? or in tennis did not put sanctions against Russians?

That's actually a good point, never thought about it but yes, celebrations in different sports are really different. I would have never expected this type of celebration in tennis, which is usually seen as more formal, whereas in F1 you often see this kind of informal celebrations.

I'm surprised they didn't get into any troubles with the organizers since they have so many rules about everything, even what you can wear, etc.

It was a big celebration for Medvedev because he qualified for the ATP finals after
winning the title. It's different to see such a celebration, maybe there was no specific
rule about spraying Champagne, I can only think if there are matches to follow the court
would have to be cleaned, IDK?

We watched the match last night between Murray and Simon which turned into a 3 set
battle with Gilles Simon winning.

I was surprised to see Gilles playing but this is his last tournament.

It was a busy day yesterday and another today with some very interesting matches to come
particularly keeping an eye on Rublev and Hurkacz who are in the race for the ATP finals.

It's funny how the Welsh Rugby League team doesn't do anywhere near as good as their Union counterparts.

I think I'll take your suggestion and take a punt on them.

Well Papua New Guinea won by 36 points, Wales failed to register a score.

Papua New Guinea wouldn't be normally be regarded as a "Rugby Nation" but they are currently
ranked fifth on the world rankings!

They are through to the quarter finals and play Australia next I think?

Well done Ahli38!

I did the same as yourself and used some pumpkin to make a spicy soup with other
squash. I only carved one BTC symbol for the soup you did quite a few.

Fortunately almost all my family are into Bitcoin so the soup and carved pumpkin didn't
have to work to convince or introduce others to BTC but I can imagine it would be a great
occasion to do so.

Here was my soup:

Getting close now to the voting, I don't envy those judges with the amount of quality
carving, well done and good luck to all, this was a very successful contest with a
great amount of participation.

Thank you ChiBitCTy for hosting

2092  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit]It's almost 1 year being a Hero Member (Also Celebrating My Birthday) on: October 31, 2022, 11:16:31 AM
Congratulations on your birthday. But I wanna ask you a simple question.
What happens next the moment you have exhausted your 24smerits to low-rank members of the forum? Will you lock the thread or keep it open for the continuity of meriting low-rank members, each time you have smerits?

A year's journey in this forum as a hero member till now is worth celebrating. Celebrating in this manner is commendable. I hope by this next year, you will celebrate your birthday as a legendary member of this forum
That's a good question. I will lock the thread but I would still send my smerits to low ranking members and also to higher ones. As of now, I still have 17 smerits left and if there's still not much participants then I will start including full members and sr. members in here so I can now spent all my smerits. As what lovesmayfamilis said that there are other forum members who are good posters that we may come across.

This is a good initiative thread nakamura12, nice to give back to the community,
regarding "hoarding" sMerit - they will all be spent eventually and ita always good
to have "a few in the pocket" so to speak. Its nice to come across a post and have
the merit to reward ranther than the other way around.

nakamura12 can lock and unlock the thread as required.

I had a bet on Australia to win, the odds were fairly level at around 1.8. When Scotland
got on top of the game and went into the lead I feared for my bet, Australia went out to
around 3.5 at that stage and I thought of adding another usually when I do that I lose

The yellow card for Scotland let Australia back into the game and they managed to
take the lead again. With 2 minutes to go Scotland had a penalty kick to take the lead again,
and missed.

Rugby League

I have only one bet on for today and for the weekend on the RLWC, Papua New Guinea
to win by 29 points from Wales.

I had no other bets on either on the WRWC

The vienna atp was as promised a competitive one shapovalov managed to win the first set against medvedev but couldn't finish him off on the second, medvedev corrected the mistakes and made adjustments which led him to victory its been a while since he won a title congrats to him on a well deserved win.

I was busy with other stuff today and only saw bits of both Medvedev v Shapovalov and bits
of the Felix AA v Rune match.

I didn't have any bets on for these two but for me the two expected players won.

Medvedev seems like he took his play to another gear.

Felix AA is on a roll, 3 tournaments in a row and got the job done in 2 sets!

Medvedev has qualified for the ATP finals and with 2 tournaments remaining Felix
is in a strong position to take a spot.

I really like your work, I have posted an image below!

There is a lot to see and love the symbolism and Japanese theme particularly the
reference to Judo and the battle between Bitcoin and traditional banking.

Very well done, GLWS

Rugby Union

My two bets from yesterday in the URC came in, both Leinster and Glasgow Warriors
did a big job on both Scarlets and Benneton respectively.

URC

I haven't looked at what games are on this weekend

In the two games this evening there are surprisingly good odds on the favourites,
Leinster to beat Scarlets @ 1.31
Glasgow Warriors to beat Benneton @ 1.35

I have 3 more on for today's games:
Dragons to beat Zebre
Ulster to beat Munster
Connacht to beat Ospreys
- this could be a tricky one, Ospreys are at home but I think
Connacht have found their winning ways and will be looking to build on recent good
performances. They have to win this to leave their abysmal start to the season behind.

Another 3 winning picks yesterday in the URC, Ulster just beat Munster by 1 point, I
actually didn't think it was going to be that close.

And Connacht are definitely on a winning streak to win away to the Ospreys.

Autumn Internationals

There were 2 games this weekend Japan v New Zealand, NZ just about winning, by the scoreboard
it looks like that was a super game, Japan 31 - 38 New Zealand !

Also Scotland v Australia, We watched that game, it was very entertaining, Australia
winning by 1 point - 15 - 16.

Timelord did you see that game?

future liabilities.

Twitter is not a safe place for CSW, looks like he can be easily exposed as the fake he is.
2098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 30, 2022, 06:58:57 AM
Holger rune seem on fire recently after winning the stockholm Atp against tsitsipas he is dominating his opponents in basel tournaments he have beaten easily, de minaur Humbert and today Rinderknech, it seems that his next opponent is bautista agut, another one in a good shape i think he is a little bit favourite to win i expect it to be a war my bet is on him and alcaraz to make it to the final.

Yes, another young gun that we have to look at specially in the last couple of games here, he was really on fire destroying his tough opponent. Now he will be facing Bautista-Agut in the semifinals.

On the other hand, Alcaraz vs FAA, this is gong to be a classic. I wouldn't be surprised if the match goes on another three sets with tie break in between. But let me try to beat on FAA here, at 2.08 odds, is not that bad and I think it's a value bet for me.

That's not a bad price for Felix AA, I see on Rollbit he is 1.99 now and Alcaraz is at 1.83,
very close so it might be better to go with Alcaraz purely on being #1?

also a consideration is that Felix has a great service game if it goes to tie breaks.....

In the other Semi final Rune v Batista Agut I'm going with Rune. As Ratash says he seems to
be on fire alright, I have him at 1.55.

Good bet guys, FAA easily bet Alcaraz in 2 sets, 6-3, 6-2. I never thought that this will be score, not sure what happened to Alcaraz in this game, but it seems that FAA has got his numbers and didn't allow Alcaraz to take control of the match.

While on the other Semi final, Rune was pushsed by Bautista-Agut to 2 tie set breaks, but it was Rune who has the next and survived. So we won't see two young players in the finals or at least a Alcaraz vs Rune.

So congrats on your bet.

Auger played an amazing match against Alcaraz that has been struggling lately. Alcaraz is not showing that he deserves the first place and is there just by pure luck. Happy that Auger destroyed him to just put him down on the ground. Auger has a big chance to win this tournament

Yes, that's what I noticed against Alcaraz in this tournament, he is just struggling and a matter of time before he was exposed and I did think that FAA will be right guy to do that and he was the underdog so it's a good value bet for me.

In the Finals, I will still go with FAA here, although the ML is just around 1.3-1.4. But I think I will go with that one and put enough money for a good return. I'm also thinking about about the Over/Under bet, but we shall see.

That was an easy enough win by Felix, 6-3, 6-2! I thought it was going to be closer than
that with tie breaks.

Regarding Rune, he is indeed on fire ATM, to come from 2-6 down in the second tie breat
to snatch that set away from Batista Agut and win the match shows a lot.

I think I will go with a Felix AA win today though.
