This is odd, transferred shacoin is not showing in my shawallet-qt (blocks is latest) but I can track it at http://explorer.shacoin.co with 55 confirmations already, Transaction: 4e040b6b36f2d8f1bc907078b80417806690888dbbfd874bb0e92b12ef0d4fdc

I've run into this with bitcoin a time or two also. I'd recommend restarting your wallet and resetting the stake setup. Let it reindex. Always worked for me in the past, and the few minutes interruption shouldn't really affect staking.
2342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHA]SHACoin - First pure Pos SHA256 based coin - On Exchange Now on: March 26, 2014, 10:28:38 AM
today with 350 gh/s i make only 540 sha,why?
Mining was done this morning. Coin is pure POS now.

Read the OP. Nothing mined after block 14400.

lol, supposed attacker PM'd me yet again demanding ransom... this time 0.3 BTC/day.

 Roll Eyes

Too bad he can't be traced... I'm pretty sure a lot of us would be willing to pay him a visit and give him a nice "cease and desist" order... Cuz it's real hard to operate a computer with crushed hands!
2344  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: March 26, 2014, 10:21:56 AM
this offer is very insane of you guyz !

no offense, but what the heck, that can be anyone rig here Smiley

Check the other ASIC manufacturers threads (with over 1000 posts)...

I think you guys are going down the wrong road with attacks against competitors. Better to rise above it.

That said, nice deal on the SP-10

Agreed, on both fronts.

Frankly, if you guys can get to the shipping in hand model in short order, KnC isn't your competition, Bitmain is. If you can compete with Bitmain, the others become irrelevant, cuz you got better hardware. But so far, NOBODY has beat bitmain at delivering miners to customers in a timely fashion. That's your target, and negative ain't the way to do it. Just compete.
2345  Bitcoin / Hardware / AMT (HEX16B based miner) let out the magic smoke :( on: March 26, 2014, 10:11:54 AM
Hello Y'all.

I have two Technobit HEX16B boards. One of them sparked, shut down the PSU, and has quit. There are two tiny little components that I think are resistors in positions four and five from the left of the molex connector. Any of you nice folks know what they are, where I can get 'em, and how much of a bitch the repair will be? Nothing else appears to have burned on the board. The bitfury chips were barely warm when the incident occured.

Yes, but if you look for example at address 1EPhEgXRs9WybWqF1mWwG627h89KmsVuZQ (my address) then there is no transaction with received time 2014-03-21 10:22:45.

Payouts from 2014-03-19 and 2014-03-24 are there, but nothing between them.  Huh

You need to talk to blockchain.info about it, if you are using their wallet. Nothing Eligius can do about it.

http://blockr.io/address/info/1EPhEgXRs9WybWqF1mWwG627h89KmsVuZQ

The payment on 3-21 was paid and is in block chain with 812 confirmations.

Yes, it is blockchain.info online wallet. I will talk to them, thanks everybody for help.

This has already been noted a few times, but it bears repeating. You can export your private keys from the online wallet and import them into a client such as QT, Electrum, or Multibit and not have the problem anymore. There is really no reason not to have backups even if you do use the blockchain.info wallet. And mutliple "windows" to your account give you both a bit of redundancy and some peace of mind Cheesy
2347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHA]SHACoin - First pure Pos SHA256 based coin - On Exchange Now on: March 25, 2014, 06:21:20 PM
Any idea on the total coin count at this time?

13104000 based on the block rewards as per the first post.

edit: Not sure if any staked yet, earlier in the thread it looked like some had. But the above should be the minimum.
2348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 25, 2014, 03:58:13 PM

Last statement from FINCEN about BTC taxes was that trading would be taxed, and mining was not threatened yet.
It was on coindesk.  But Time will tell.... btw...  Taxes are NOT retro-active in USA brah, they never are. You cannot be taxed on your 2013 btc earnings unless you willingly give it away to them. There is no guideline in place yet, and when it is, it will be from then on, not reaching into the past, they cannot do that unless there was a guideline in place..
as they cannot just decide to tax you after the fact. Guideline comes first, then tax from then on.

This is off topic but this is completely wrong.   FINCEN is about whether you need to register as an MSB.    The IRS has nothing to do with this paper.    You owe taxes on anything that you made income from (whether it is mining bitcoins or selling organic beets).   Just because the beet farmer does not need to register as an MSB does not mean he does not need to pay taxes.    You have misunderstood.
Post that new tax code then please.

It is my understanding that assets (in this case bitcoin) are not taxable until CONVERTED to dollars by sale or other means. Also, you can claim self employment and depreciate the machines used to mine. Not full cost, but over time based on their useful lifetime. If you go that route, you WILL need a CPA to check your figures and sign off on them, for the inevitable audit.
2349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 25, 2014, 03:21:54 PM
Spoondoodles or whatever their name is has said they don't plan to mine, other than 24 hours of burn in testing which they donate to charity.

Any manufacturer that mines has an inherent conflict of interest with its customers especially when it can delay shipment (and keep mining for itself) without any real consequences.

Let's face facts here.  Conflict or not, every manufacturer mines with their own equipment.  This is no secret.  I'm pretty sure even BitMain has a farm of some sort.

I don't think they've denied it. In fact I think they've been open about it. "Spoondoodles" denies it.

Bitmain has been pretty open about having a farm. I don't have the address anymore, but they mine at Eligius and it has "sex" in the address. It's usually one of the top two or three on the pool.

I'm actually rather curious about what they're up to. They have hinted at releasing a second gen 28nm chip. Spondoolies is rather interesting as well, with a pre order period measured in weeks rather than months, and open accounting of their VC backing. I'm really hoping the whole "pre order" nonsense is coming to an end.

As for KNC going exclusively cloud, I think that's pretty much going to be the BTC mining paradigm from here on out. I don't particularly like that, but it is where trends are heading. And as you can see in my sig, I'm buying in at least partially. My piddling 80GH/s isn't cutting it on BTC anymore, though I'm not doing badly on alts.

I actually disagree with ConMan about the asics killing LTC/Scrypt. I think they'll give a boost to the coins with something to offer. I may be biased as I'm part of the team for Earthcoin, but I don't see this as a negative development, other than the pre order bullshit. Gridseeds, OTOH, those are cool. As the first generation of Scrypt ASIC's, they are not terrible at all. Not as fast as many had hoped, but the power consumption vs. a GPU is fantastic. And little machines like that, readily available, might just stop the huge centralization of hashpower that BTC is seeing right now. Gridseeds are likely to break below 200 a pop on the general market real soon, and I don't think they've stopped designing. Next gen ought to be interesting.

I do think the whole "coin of the day" thing is going to come to a crashing halt very soon, though. Things will have to get much more innovative, either in the mechanics or the marketing side, real soon. With 400+ coins out there, there has to be a pruning. Soon.

... so basically, KFC got the bitcoin community to fund their mining farm?
Is that a trick question?   hehe
Guess it depends how you look at it.
big Yes and absolutely not at the same time.  Cry
My question would be "Now that "plan B" is nil, will they sell cloud?

They sell crap, I have refunded my early costumer batch order and I am glad I did Smiley

Really they ARE mining with your mining power, you and all other "costumers" funded their farm.

Now go get yourselfs some KFC and enjoy this major Clusterfuck.

Cheers

So the movie industry funded them? Funny, I thought it was the miners...

As most of you know, those that follow this thread anyway, I developed earthcointalk.org and earthazaar.com. I wanted to give everyone a little update on what I am building now and what I plan for the near future.

One of the sites I’m building is an Earthcoin crowd funding site (kickstarter) which I hope to launch about a month from now. I find this site especially exciting as it will give people all across the Earth the opportunity to fund their projects with Earthcoin.

I will post details on this site, and when exactly the site will launch, in the near future.

The site I will develop after I finish the crowd funding site is now being planned. It will be a marketplace where you can exchange EAC for USD, and USD for EAC. It isn’t exactly an exchange, and it will not look like one Wink

This site is only in the planning stages at the moment, but I hope to launch it in June, maybe sooner if things go well. I will post details on this site, and launch dates, after the crowd funding site is up and running.

I'm not technical, but what do you think about a exchange of EAC against other coins? We have BTC and LTC against other coins, sometimes even DOGE, why not EAC?

Why not create a stock exchange of the best 30 coins, give it a weight like in the DJ.

People can buy 1 share and indirectly that means that you bought 30 coins, if the coins move up then the value of that one share move up, if they move down then the value of that 1 share moves down... And you have create groups, like the animal coins, the planet coins, etc...

What do you think? And that one share is quoted in EAC of course, so that people need to buy earthcoins to buy shares....

This is exactly what I think needs to be happening. EAC as the base to the pair on an exchange. If such an exchange exists, then it boosts popularity of the coin, as people trade AGAINST EAC rather than AGAINST BTC. I don't have the skills to do it either, unfortunately.

A lot of ideas, but no power to execute them Sad I don't know, i hope a big bagholder is really technical and went to spend a lot of hours/days/weeks to make this, as it is in his own interest that Earthcoin will be a success again....

I could easily do the accounting. My real world jobs have mostly been restaurant management, so I'm good with money. It's the actual coding I can't do.

If there were a template out there for a BTC exchange, I'm sure I could modify it. There's a company that I added to the list of merchants a couple days ago that sells hosting for EAC, so it would be self sustaining if the volume were just fair.
2352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHA]SHACoin - First pure Pos SHA256 based coin - On Exchange Now on: March 25, 2014, 02:54:52 PM
i'm in no hurry with SHACoin. those who wanted to pump and dump have done so.. right now, it's buying time.

Unless people keep dumping like fools, I've shot my wad. No BTC at the moment, and I ain't selling my stake. But if people remain stupid I'll buy some more in a few days.

I like the logo too! Im just curious how the block chain is secured if there is no hashing power from all the miners.

I am assuming that the wallets will hash to keep the network going. Seems kind of weak, though. Of course, they could set it so difficulty jumps per block so high that a 51% attack is only possible for one block, but I'm not good enough at cryptography to know if that will work.

Interesting concept at the very least. Well worth a couple days mining, even if nothing comes of it. I like experiments Cheesy

It's funny people are afraid to buy at 100 sat when blackcoin was 3000 at this point on the same exchange.

i wouldn't be surprised if it did hit 1000-3000 by this time next month, it would depend on people not selling so dam cheap so fast !

Why is anyone selling so cheap for ? way undervalued
They just want to give me more. That's all. Keep it coming, ya fuckin' idiots!

I'd like to touch on something i read a while back in this thread..   (around pg 47 i think..)

Someone else reported receiving a payout and it not showing up in their wallet.  I too am having a similar problem..  On 3-21-14 @ 10:22:45 my stats page shows Eligius making a payout to me but it has yet to show up in my Blockchain wallet.  Any knowledge as to why this may be happening?

thanks for any intel

You could try searching for the transaction here as a secondary source of info: http://blockr.io/

strange..  so the block is listed, click on coinbase transactions and my wallet address is 2nd listed.  click on my wallet addi and it shows my info, with correct balance et al.  so why doesn't it show for me in blockchain.info or in my wallet??
This is the Bitcoin gods telling you not to use an online wallet. I use and recommend Electrum. In the meantime, export your private keys and import them into a wallet such as Electrum or QT, and when it syncs, it should be there. If it's in the blockchain, it's there.

It went up for a while when there were talks about limiting the supply. Let's talk about it some more! Smiley

I don't know if i need to complain or not, as i said before, complaining when the coin price is low is stupid, shut up and buy it Smiley  That is what i'm doing ... Smiley I know that they are looking at some options. Really would love to see a multipool for EAC, i believe it cannot be that difficult, no?

EAC multipool sounds maybe good, but it is better for the coin to mine it directly imo...

Yes, maybe, but look what happened with Blackcoin.... they can do multiple steps... of course the most important step is still marketing outside those little four walls....

Put your coin in the news, and what is news? Crimea... Tatars people from Crimea... Something like Donate to help Crimea... People can donate either BTC, EAC or real dollars. And with all the money you received from donation you can give people Earthcoins...and then they can use those Earthcoins on plenty of the shops that support Earthcoins now.  By receiving real dollars and BTC ,it means that they need to buy EAC on the market, prices will go out. The collected Earthcoins will be given away to the people in Crimea and this will get back in the market after they bought something on the websites. Everybody will talk about Earthcoin, people will just donate, and prices moves higher and higher...

So many options to consider to get EAC back to 100....200... and maybe more.

Set it up. Remember, guys, Earthcoin is not just the development team. We'll make sure it's secure, and we'll be involved in as many projects as we can reasonably handle. But seriously, if you have a pet project, there is no one on the team that will stand in your way!

Make stuff, organize charities, organize campaigns to get the coin in circulation outside the currency exchanges. Talk to your friends about it. Talk to your enemies about it.

I'm looking for a way to make a big splash on Earth Day. It's OUR DAY. We couldn't ask for a better opportunity. I will have a template up for download with Earthcoin logo business cards in the next few days. Pass 'em out! Get the word out that there's a new coin in town... and it's easy to use!
2359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][FER] FERENGICOIN on: March 24, 2014, 08:13:04 AM
Hello again. My first couple posts weren't serious. I was just playing with you, and I mined this for a few hours for fun. Right now my miners are engaged for about 30 hours, but after that post? I think at least half my hashpower is going to FER for a while.

I can't really improve on what you're talking. Over at Earthcoin, we're also looking into the partial payment idea, and I believe it has merit. If we come across any takers, assuming the rest of the team is agreeable, I'll recommend they talk to you as well. I'd appreciate reciprocation. Customers are everywhere Cheesy

One thing I would suggest is add the "getnetworkhashpersec" method to the wallet. It's a bit disconcerting to not know the total network. I'm not a real deep delver in code (yet!) so if there is another method that I'm unaware of, I'd appreciate knowing what it is Cheesy

Best of luck, Lots of Latinum, and tell Morn to shut up!

- Why does your pool not directly mine EAC?

- This is for my social studies:

* Do you REALLY believe EAC has an over 0,01% chance to really take off and develope to into something useful?

* Would you still believe that, if you weren't a huge EAC holder?

Just answer please, no hate from me.
Not sure if that was aimed at me, but I'll answer, just in case.

If you're speaking of the multipool, the idea is to mine what's most profitable at a given moment, but change the focus from BTC to EAC. It would mine EAC when it was the most profitable.

For the rest:

Yes, I really believe this brand has a good shot. We got people that believe in it, a great name, and some great ideas. The downside risk is that most of those ideas take a bit of time, and this is a fast paced environment, so the risk of failure is high. That will only make victory the sweeter should we succeed.

I'm not a huge EAC holder. I have a bit over a million coins. I'm willing to give up close to half of what I have if somebody will make a USD to EAC exchange. I'm a believer in the brand, which I think is why I got recruited to the team Cheesy

You've been in on it from the beginning too, but unlike me you had the opportunity to mine it. I can only mine SHA coins or CPU coins at the moment. Truth is I'm pretty damn broke. But this is something I believe in and want to make happen. I'm in for the long haul. I'm currently mining SHA coins, selling them for BTC, and trading that for Earthcoin. If I could exchange them for EAC directly, that would be fucking cool!
