2382  Economy / Reputation / Re: Remove negative feedback on: January 25, 2023, 10:11:15 AM
Have you ever been to the 1xbit thread and see them whine? Enough rpoof that they are whiny bitches.
I said that you are whining, not them. Or you maybe consider yourself part of 1xbit?

You also provided proof that you can't argue. There is no need for me to provide additional proof, I am not here solving the scam accusations by other people. I am here solving the fake accusation against me. I am not going to sign it, no reason to do so, but even if I did, those whiny ass bitches probably argue that I work for 1xbit and therefore I am able to sign it after all, so also proves nothing? Are you able to follow that reasoning?
That''s your assumption. Why don't you sign the message from that address (its like 2 minutes work) and prove your theory? I would if someone called me out for bullshitting while I had tools to prove him otherwise.

And sorry if I have no idea how this archaic site works, but I am under the impression that allowing false accusations, because these members "feel so" should not be allowed. I mean I can also start making a bunch of false claims if you want, nothing wrong with that then? I only hope those won't get removed or won't get me banned, I mean it shouldn't if you would allow the false ones against me?
Exactly. You can claim whatever you want and leave feedback to anyone and no mod will remove it or ban you (as long as you follow forum rules).
2383  Economy / Reputation / Re: Remove negative feedback on: January 25, 2023, 09:49:29 AM
I actually wonder, what is bitcointalk these days, some whiny ass bitches who can't read?
The only one whining here is you. Bitcointalk is not like other places where you can just claim something (like 1xbit sending you 10 BTC) without any repercussions. People around here are less naive and will call you out and ask to show some proof for your claim. And no, txid is not a valid proof.

@Cyrus get your ass over here and start doing your job (no idea even how tagging works at this forsaken place)
This bolded part is the problem here. You don't know how things work, yet you cry for admins to help you.
2384  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: January 25, 2023, 09:33:51 AM
I wish SBF was not where it is now, flying in business class, holding meetings, giving interviews and spending millions of dollars on its comfort, but sitting in a prison cell and getting a real prison term.
Afaik, part of his his bail agreement is that he is on the house arrest meaning he can't fly around and hold meetings. Sure, everyone would like him to sit in prison cell while waiting for trial  but that's how it goes for rich people even for bigger scammers than him, like Bernie Madoff for example.

I really doubt and I hope they never succeed
If they manage to to make at least users of FTX US whole I can see them trying again. They are very well aware of the fact that an average crypto user has the memory of a goldfish so in a few years barely anyone will remember this fiasco.
2385  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: January 24, 2023, 09:24:13 PM
Why do you think that?
Honestly, the forum may even reduce its activity a little, but it will hardly cease to be the main source of information about Bitcoin and this market. It's one of the few forums I know of that has such good stability.
Hm I don't think I follow you. I didn't say that forum will die, but rather that activity will most likely keep decreasing as it was for the last ~5 years.

I am looking at activity from Pakistan members and it's again higher than our local board, French, Arabic, Romainan, Nigerian (recently added), and few others.
They deserve to get new local board, so theymos and moderators do something if you are watching and reading this.
Yep, their numbers are very good. And its not like that for the last few months because if you go back ~2 years ago when I include them into this overview they were already more active than many other local boards. I think that them getting their own local board is just a matter of time, but I do hope that they won't have to wait as long as Nigerians.

Any update about making yearly reports like we talked about?
But I already made yearly overview a week ago, I don't know how you missed it. Or you meant some other type of yearly overview?
2386  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 24, 2023, 09:15:13 PM
There is now a new government-funded loan program that is about to start, funding up to 75% of the loan interest-free while the rest is funded by private banks and is subject to a relatively low interest rate. This led me to think about taking a loan and purchasing an average two-bedroom apartment, but I have the concerns that I voiced earlier.
We have something similar to that in Croatia going on for years, and unfortunately all that achieved is that real estate prices went up so in the end the only ones who benefited from it were people selling apartments/houses while government keeps losing money. All the experts warned them not to meddle into market as they will just pump the price, and of course they didn't listen as they saw it as another way to buy votes with someone else's (ours) money.

Buying your own place is certainly a risk and it depends on the number of factors like what kind of job you have/how easy is to find another one, where do you live etc. For me personally it is worth a risk and basically all people I know are choosing that option rather than giving someone else your money for 30 years and not owning it in the end. I don't know how big are pensions in Greece, but in Croatia 95% of pensioners are not able to afford the rent so that's another reason to get your own place while you can.
2387  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What could make you start using a new crypto wallet today? on: January 24, 2023, 07:08:05 PM
Since I don't like to change things that work, the only reason why I would change the wallet is if there's some serious flaw with it or if it becomes unpractical to use. Example of that was blockchain android wallet I used in the past but after constantly having issues with it I switched to Electrum years ago and I can't complain about it. And no, I wouldn't be interested testing wallet that is new on the market no matter whether its open source or not and I would rather leave that to people that are more knowledgeable than me to thoroughly check it out.
2388  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: January 24, 2023, 04:13:53 PM
Official excuse: I rediscovered Halo and I am now doing a legendary Run. Such a waste of time, but highly addictive, possibly more than the forum. Hand eye coordination not what it used to be.
As a fellow gamer, I fully understand the addiction and its a perfectly legit reason for slacking with the overview.

Hand eye coordination not what it used to be
Hah tell me about it. I used to love playing online pvp games (and was pretty good at it) but since my reflexes (and eyes especially) are not what they used to be, I got tired of getting ass kicked by 14 yo kids so now I only stick to single player games mostly RPGs.

I was aware that we have a relatively big German-speaking community, but the fact that in the end there were 37 users who wrote over 99 posts and 130 users who wrote 10+ posts surprised me a little. Since you often see the same users opening threads and writing analysis, it is nice to see that ultimately a few more users are regularly active and participate in the discussions.
Well those are the numbers over period of one year, not one month and keep in mind that ninjastic.space counts even deleted posts so those numbers are probably inflated a little bit. I personally count those that wrote 100+ posts backbone of their local board and regular posters.

And that despite the current bear market. Very cool, looks like oldschool forums like Bitcointalk are not dead yet
Bitcointalk numbers may keep decreasing, but I don't think that it will ever die in the sense that there won't be any people writing on it, no matter happened. It was an important part of bitcoin history and as such will always have enthusiast willing to spend some time on it.

I appreciate your smart work. It is much time consuming task to provide Monthly and yearly  detail of all local board. May I ask how much time you give to make all data?
Its not really that consuming as it takes me maybe 3-4 hours spread over few days. I can probably make it much faster but I usually do something on a side (like watching football) while making it and that makes process longer than it should be.
2389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: January 24, 2023, 03:54:55 PM
Guys and gals, Oscar 2023 nomination list is out and from what I could see, there's no major surprises. Everything Everywhere All at Once is leader with 11 nominations, followed by All Quiet on the Western Front and The Banshees of Inisherin each getting nominated in 11 categories. Here is the full list https://variety.com/2023/film/news/oscar-nominations-2023-list-1235495072/

Actually, if I can call something surprising (at least for me), that's Avatar getting Best Picture nomination. I saw the movie last weekend and it was a big disappointment. Yeah it looks good, but that's all there is to it, nothing else really. But I guess since movie made 2 billion dollars already, it made sense for them to include it.

edit: now I see that odds on Everything Everywhere All at Once went even more down, probably caused by being the leader when it comes to amount of nominations. Despite being favorite, I simply can't bet on a movie that I couldn't even finish so I will probably got for a surprise and Banshees instead.
2390  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: January 24, 2023, 10:14:43 AM
Its time for a yet another brief monthly overview of local boards activity, this time a little bit later than in previous months as I was busy with yearly overviews. All charts and table are made with the help of @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan and Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards yet but hopefully that changes soon.

Post activity per local board during December 2022

During above mentioned period, 13499 posts were made across 18 local boards, which is a 9% decrease compared to November 2022 and 14823 posts written. It is a quite a big decrease, but I think that its just temporary and  might be connected with holiday period as people have better things to do that write on the forum.

As always, Russian board is far ahead the others, making 2x more than the 2nd most active board (Turkish), followed by German and Portuguese and pretty much the same names occupy the bottom of this chart. Majority of boards had fewer posts written when compared to November, but the one with biggest decrease (percentage wise) was Italian board that for some reason had 45% decrease which is a big change for such an active board.

Number of active members per local board during December 2022

During December last year, 1165 members wrote at least 1 post in their local board, which makes it a slight decrease compared to November and 1204 active members. That slight decrease is not a surprise given the noticeable decrease in the amount of posts written.

I thought about separating members in several groups according to the amount of posts made like I did for yearly overview as that would give clearer picture but it will have to wait for the next month's overview as I've been busy in the last couple of days and it will remain the same until the end of the month. So, if you have some idea how to divide groups, let me know pls.

Merit shared per local board during December 2022

Even through posts written decreased significantly, amount of merits shared increase a lot; from 5469 merits shared in November to 6347 in December which makes it a 16% increase. Majority of that 16% overall increase goes to Russian (1209-1687). Turkish ( 588-843) and Spanish (382-643) boards, while some like Portuguese (293-228) had a significant decrease.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during December 2022

Despite the big increase in the amount of merit shared, number of senders/receivers didn't change drastically: during December 354 members sent merit while 478 received, compared that with November that had 375 merit senders and 431 merit receiver.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for December 2022

And for the end of this month's series of chart, merit/post ratio. Since number of merits shared increased while number of posts decreased, its no surprise that almost all local boards had increased ratio compared with 12 months average. As a matter of fact, I don't remember ever having 4 local boards with more than 1 merit per post ratio, like it was during December.

The most active members per local board during December 2022

Last but not the least, list of the most active members in their local boards. Once again title of the most active member goes to joker_josue [246], followed by DdmrDdmr [171]  at the 2nd place and Ratimov [170] at the 3rd. Congrats guys, keep it up!

2392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: January 22, 2023, 04:46:06 PM
That's what I am saying, it should be world wide and not just American if they want to improve the movie world. Why? Because if there is a movie that they believe was done better than any other american made movie, and they do not give them the reward just because they are not american, it wouldn't be fair.
But why would they do that, what would be the benefit for American film industry to "improve the film world"? Oscar is first and foremost American movie award, and one of the purposes is to award and protect American film industry. And later it developed into what we see now, with finally non-American movie winning a Best Picture award.

Don't get me wrong, I would like if foreign movies have the same chance of winning like American ones (good example of that Roma which is a vastly superior to Green Book, but latter won the award nevertheless) but I also understand why they are doing it that way. Less American movies winning award means less money poured into American movie industry equals less money for actors, directors etc and exactly those people vote for the awards (afaik 80% Academy members are Americans).
2393  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Plagiarized Whitepaper - MEMV MetaMallVerse on: January 22, 2023, 04:32:43 PM

FYI, I believe Royse saw this thread (Maybe not), and he suspended the round 2 Campaign.
He is aware of it, we talked via PM about the issue.

I hope that he does, and the reason why the campaign is suspended is due to this findings, as his message on his TG group indicated that he's trying to get to the bottom of the unexpected issue.
Since they showed no remorse or willingness to sort out the whitepaper (and other plagiarized content), I don't see how that campaign could be reopened.
2394  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Plagiarized Whitepaper - MEMV MetaMallVerse on: January 22, 2023, 01:45:05 PM
Is it allow to Run a bounty for project which already catch up stealing data from other project? Many compaign manager was tagged previously for only one reason that they run compaign for scam project and reason of scam was just plagiarism of Whitepaper . If it allow then remove tag from all old Bounty managers.
Tehnically it is allowed to run a bounty for a project that plagiarized whitepaper/had fake team members or any of the other major red flags because scams on bitcointalk are not moderated. Thing is, by doing that you are risking your reputation and getting tagged by other members.

I can't speak for other DT members, but unless Royse777 doesn't stop their bounty campaign, he can expect getting tagged by me but I do hope it won't come to that.
2395  Economy / Reputation / Re: Injustice while Tagging on: January 22, 2023, 01:35:23 PM
So am I right in my understanding that the main wrongdoing here is the plagiarized whitepaper?  That's certainly wrong to do and doesn't reflect well on the integrity of whoever's behind the project, but that doesn't say much about how legit MetaMallVerse is or to what extent Royse777's reputation ought to be sullied.
Beside some other red flags like having anonymous team while conducting ICO and generally looking like very little effort and thought has been put into this project, you are right, the reason why MetaMallVerse account got tagged and flagged is due plagiarized whitepaper. Combine those two things and its pretty obvious how this is going to end up.

I don't condone plagiarism by any means, but correct me if I'm wrong: it's a thing that's accepted in certain parts of the world, something that people wouldn't think twice about and certainly wouldn't believe it would cause problems (especially if those people were young and/or naive).  We've seen it happen so many times with ICOs that I can't imagine project owners would continue plagiarizing if they knew they'd be held to task for it.
Its been a month since they got caught having plagiarized whitepaper, and so far they haven't done absolutely anything to sort that out. They didn't rewrite those parts, or maybe even included reference links for copied part and everything stayed as it was month ago. To me that tells that they absolutely don't care as they are here for a quick scam. I can't imagine a legit project that is here for the long not doing absolutely everything that they can to clear their reputation.because if

Anyway, we'll see if Royse777 knew about the whitepaper.  If he's doing the campaign manager job properly, I don't see why OP is making a fuss because he hasn't been tagged.
The right thing to do here is to stop the bounty campaign immediately and I hope he will do that.

2396  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Plagiarized Whitepaper - MEMV MetaMallVerse on: January 22, 2023, 07:47:56 AM
FYI, there's been a bounty campaign going on from the day one (for more than a month) hosted by Royse777. Did anyone warned him about the existence of this scam accusation topic? Anyway, I just sent him a PM and lets see what he has to say about it.

Bounty campaign round 1
Bounty campaign round 2
2397  Economy / Reputation / Re: Injustice while Tagging on: January 22, 2023, 07:29:08 AM
First of all, I had no idea about this MetaMallVerse plagiarism case (you can check that I wasn't active in their scam accusation topic) and even less about Royse777 hosting their bounty campaign. Or you think we should all be aware about each and every scam accusation case?

I am surprised to see that no one in MetaMallVerse scam accusation topic mentioned their ongoing bounty campaign and warned Royse777 about this situation as it looks like a clear scammy shitcoin project with anonymous team and plagiarized whitepaper. Anyway, I will contact him and let him know about it and if he still continues with bounty campaign he will bare the consequences. Although I don't understand how he missed that project he is promoting for a month has been tagged and flagged.

Same kind of Whitepaper Plagiarized was happen with the Project UKAN Promoted by Mr Crank and was given 3 Negative feedback.
I guess you are an alt account of MrCrank? Since at first it looks like you were only the bounty manager there, stopped bounty campaign upon discovering plagiarism and didn't have previous tags for something else, I will look into it a little bit further and if everything checks out I might change negative to neutral.

However, there have been some reports that many of them have created their alt accounts.
Well, based on the list you provided I see only a few accounts that were created after pumpkin contest started.

And many users have earned merit from here and qualified themselves for signature campaigns.  But sadly those who got merit only from pumpkin contest.
If that's what they needed in order to get into signature campaigns then I don't expect them to be very successful staying in those or getting into new ones, or reaching higher ranks.

This is why I like Cannes a lot more, in the world of Cannes you get to see movies from all around the world, they are not works that are Oscar like, they are just artistic movies that gets very few and limited viewership, they are movies for intellectuals but at the very least they are fair towards the whole world and not just to France where it's held (I think?).

Oscars should be more like that, it's not about the best movie that comes out of Hollywood, but the best movie anywhere in the world, and that would make it harder to watch that much more movies, but it's definitely possible if you look at the most watched movies of at least 20-30 more nations.
You are mixing two very different things. First and foremost, Cannes is a movie festival (like Sundance, Berlin, Venice, Karlovy Vary etc) whose goal is not to give awards for best movies made in some specific year like Oscar is, or BAFTA, Golden Globes etc. Now that you mentioned France, their sort of equivalent of Oscar is Cesar Award but it only gives awards to French movies (+for best international one) so I think that Academy is doing by including bunch of foreign movies in their award is a good thing. After all, Oscars initially started as an award for American movies only, but later developed into what it is now.
