Do you have the updated details for the getting started page? I will - as soon as i know them myself That is a valid dependency.

Don't know... for the moment I am still working on the code of the cuda version (which should be ready on launch)
If a CUDA miner will be available at launch, is it worth it at all for miners with CPUs to mine? Will the GPUs not be raping the hash? Also, many miners have invested in AMD because it was superior at the time for GPU mining the other algos. Only a small section of miners will have Nvidia cards. Will it not be better to hold off on the GPU mining to give the normal guy in the street a chance to get some coins for a fair launch and only release the GPU miners when the diff is high in a few days or weeks? It sort of defeats the purpose to create a CPU mineable coin and push that feature and then push hard for GPU miners to be available at launch even before CPU mining has started. Then the dev could just as well have skipped CPU mining completely and develop something for GPU miners only and release it when GPU miners are ready. I guess it depends on what the purpose is of this test and if the data required can be obtained through CPU mining and if GPU mining is a necessity for getting the data. The only reason I can think of for pushing for GPU miners at launch, is to enable a few miners to outperform CPU miners to get most of the blocks when diff is low. I cannot think of a scientific reason why GPU mining is a necessity at launch that cannot be achieved later on in the process.

What is the max supply cap? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) There is none.

Does the CPU miner use the special flags of the newer CPUs like the later monero miners did?

Testing new things in real life conditions is a valid reason for making a new coin, with participants being rewarded for taking part in the test in order to obtain test data for further research. Being a test there is also the prospects of the test ending at some point when enough data has been collected or conditions becoming out of control.
However, @earlz can you please confirm what new things you will be testing and what the conditions are that you want to create? What aspects will you be adding to the virtual currency body of knowledge towards creating a currency of the future in the categories of technology, process or economics? Do you have an estimate of how long the test will last and what the bounds are after which the test will stop or be aborted? This is important information to know for participants as it is input to the risk/reward calculations.
The sole purpose of alt-coins imo is to test new things and building the body of knowledge bit by bit. 5% of altcoins are real tests and the rest are just scams or fake tests to make a quick buck. A few coins of the 5% find new things and stick around longer than others (e.g. DRK and its masternodes etc.) but in general they have short lifespans. Any estimate on the Sup lifespan?

I see a warning message regarding the old checkpoint in the wallet. I have 8 active connections and it's been like 2 hours now. How long does the syncin take?
It depends. Iv seen it sync in 30min on one computer and on the next it took a whole afternoon with 8 connections. Try closing and opening the wallet, also reboot your router to get a fresh Internet connection.

This is the most fun coin that has ever been produced IMO, I do think there is some future things in store for 10K as it initially was only intended as an experiment, imagine what the Final Product will be like ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Fully agree.

But in the first page it is indicated that best way to stake is to reset coin age to 0 after receiving one
Nothing wrong with that as you have an hour before your coins mature again. If you move them at the beginning of that hour then your whole stack should stake again next time. I prefer it clean. I dont know however if coins with higher coinage like 10 days or so get some kind of VIP status. Perhaps the dev can answer that if coins with a coinage of 1 day is equal to coins with a coinage of 15 days. If it is the same then you can just as well move everything after each stake. Do you know anything about future developments for this coin? Or will it remain this way? Hope the future of this coin isnt similar with balls going down to 100 sat - Buy support that is smaller than sells Not really, there's 7 BTC in buys in as many orders as 2 BTC worth of sells on Bittrex The equilibrium of buys and sells is where the price remains stable. If the price goes lower, then buy support is less than sells.

Do you know anything about future developments for this coin? Or will it remain this way? Hope the future of this coin isnt similar with balls going down to 100 sat You have to ask that from igotspots. One can only speculate on certain fundamentals. Economic principles indicate that over the long term there will be a downward trend in price with a constant high sell pressure. The dev team has to counter that with plans which should include measures to increase the buy support, increase the holding base (number of holders), implement some kind of value and some kind of use. The high stake is a good incentive to hold but only up to a point. The dev team must come up with the plans before that point is reached, wherever the point might be, otherwise the coin would implode. Currently the big ticket items in 10K's favor are: - High stake causing people to increase their holdings enough to sell off just enough to generate a steady income stream. - Fast transaction times Big ticket items against 10K are: - High inflation causing high sell pressure. The saving grace so far for 10K is that due to hman nature holders want more coins and are building their base, banking on future plans creating enough buy support for them to sell into - Relatively small holding base currently - Buy support that is smaller than sells From this you can make your own decisions about the future of the coin or wether to get involved or not.

Best way to stake is after receiving my first reward i should send it to new address?
Yes. The whole amount. Your existing address will do just fine too. i just received my first reward. i transferred my whole 10k to my 2nd address. by doing that did i reset my coinage to 0? Yes that reset your coinage. If your whole stack staked in one go, all your coins have to mature again so you can just as well move everything out out and back the moment they become available after the stack. When the become sliced up a lot and staking at different times it becomes tricky to move them because you might lose several hours on portions of your coins that have been gaining weight a long time but not yet staked at the time of moving your stash.

can someone explain ths to me
Max coinage will be 16 days Constant staking will never make it to 16 days To maximize staking yield, reset coinage upon receiving a stake for 0.00 Encourages active, 'manual' minting, while keeping inflation controlled without limiting stake or raising fees. 0 return means you have split as low as you can go. That stake round is over Six Decimals. Plan accordingly
what do you mean by 16 days. and how can i reset coin age what does reset coinage upon receiving a stake mean? is it when i get a reward i should do what to maximize?
Well said up to just before your questions at the end. Regarding your questions - coinage is how long your coins have been in your wallet without being moved to another address. When coinage gets to 1 hour your coins become mature and are eligible for staking. When coinage gets to 16 days it stops being eligible for staking. Resetting coinage means sending your coins to another address and sending it back again so that the coinage is reset to 0. After 1 our it starts staking again and so the cycle continues. You have to find the optimal way of moving your coins manually at the right times to ensure you get the maximum stake. The chances are high that you will get to 0.00 stake long before the 16 days are over, meaning that you have to move your coins to reset the coinage long before the 16 days are over. To reset your coinage therefore, send it to another address and back. I send coins to another wallet and back. Others say they send it to another address in the same wallet - I am just old school.

could you give a brief guide on how to setup to solo mine ? I have never been able to figure it out thanks
This coin is POS only so in essence, by setting up your wallet for staking, you are "solo" mining. There is no POW solo mining if that is what you are referring to, so any guide for setup POW solo mining is at most interesting in relation to 10K. If you are referring to solo mining for POW for another coin you want to mine then there are some guides on BCT. To setup POS mining for 10K, you can look at this link. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=942977.msg10388060#msg10388060

anyone else getting payments and staking small amts without losing weight i keep getting small mints like 30 or so without losing weight
Hang in there. It is sometimes difficult to lose weight. But if the condition persists, cut out sugar and carbs or take a dump. Whatever you do though, never cut out the stake, even if it means putting on extra weight.
