I didn't see the thread myself or at least can't remember so can't really comment on your specific situation, but its probably a good idea to read through the forum guidelines here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

That way you can understand why it has been removed, and avoid any issues in the future. Alternatively, you could message the likely moderator that removed it (possibly quoting the thread from your drafts), and see if they can offer guidance. Although, before doing that you should familiarize yourself with the guidelines, and see if you can identify the issue yourself.

Bitcoin enthusiasts who have valid questions or concerns and begin meaningful discussions are often showered with merits. I think that's nice to see. People wrongly think merits are only given to those who solve problems, but bringing attention to certain issues can be equally merit-worthy.
I think its a good idea to actually encourage new users to think about their questions, and actually put an effort into them. They are usually the ones to get showered in merits as you put it. I think we are losing that stigma though, that you need to be solving problems or teaching something here on the forum to be successful in terms of earning merits, and I think most users are now beginning to realise that effort is king, and as long as you put in the effort you'll get somewhere.
2983  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: July 30, 2021, 08:49:18 PM
There are lots of high-quality channels on Youtube, but from what I've seen they all follow a cookie-cutter approach, starting with an intro followed by a few seconds of annoying music, followed by "be sure to subscribe and smash that like button for more new videos, blah blah blah" and then 12 minutes of content following Youtube's strict monetization policies to the letter.  I've seen this format followed in dozens upon dozens of videos, if not hundreds.  I'd like it if bitcointalk's channel didn't do that, simply because I find it extremely annoying.
I guess they follow an approach which has been proven to work over, and over again. Youtube videos have definitely evolved over time though. For example, Youtube videos of today are much more higher quality production wise, than they were before. In fact, to start off on Youtube now, you are pretty much already expected to have a decent amount of experience video editing, and being used to public speaking or at least speaking to an audience. Back 10 years ago, you didn't need anything, but a way of recording yourself or your screen with a legible mic. Hence why Cyrus probably opted for a professional company to handle the recording side of things.
2984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: July 30, 2021, 08:44:09 PM
I'm not a fan of Youtube's verify your age system, in fact I find it damn outright ridiculous. However, they have it, so why not use it? If a Youtuber is advertising something that involves gambling either directly in their video via a sponsorship or down below in their description or comments, then the video should be age restricted. That would at least inject some consistency into Youtube's moderation policy. This way, parents would have to manually agree that they don't mind that their children will be exposed to this sort of content, and advertisements.
2985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 30, 2021, 08:41:20 PM
I'm kinda hoping Khabib actually does fight him again and maul him. Maybe not let go until Herb Dean prises him off. I doubt he'll rise to Connor's silliness though as much as I want to see him back in the UFC.
This is the first thing I thought when I saw it. Conor seems to be taking every opportunity given to him, to create a divide between him, and the fans. I actually used to like Conor, and support him. Okay, I never really enjoyed him as a person, but his fighting style was immense, and exciting, and you always had it in the back of your mind that he's doing it for show. However, when it came to fighting Khabib, I think there was many lines crossed. Now, he seems to just be throwing shots just to stay relevant, and the fans are sick of it. I really want Khabib to come back, and absolutely humble the man, and I think Khabib is the only one that could do it, and it would be a nice rounded off 30-0.

The annoying part about this business is if he comes back, and knocks out Poirier, and becomes quite dominate again, all of this will be forgotten.
2986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: July 30, 2021, 08:36:28 PM
I'll even go as far to predict that Manchester United will hire a new manager by the end of next season. Probably, no fault of Solskjaer I just think its going to take a little bit of time to get the team to gel, and that's not because of the new signings, but they just haven't clicked at the best of times. When they bring in a new more experienced manager I see them definitely being more of a force.
2987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: July 29, 2021, 09:25:54 PM
It'll be interesting to see how Konate sizes up compared to Varane due to their similar transfer fees. No doubt, Konate has the future ahead of him, but I think hes already a very well rounded player at his age, and could potentially be the signing of the season so far. At least in the defender department, I imagine Sancho is going to make a few waves.
2988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 29, 2021, 08:49:48 PM
This has got to be the best transfer window I've seen Manchester United conduct in a very long time. When was their last stand out transfer window? It seems so long ago. Varane is an excellent acquisition, and I think that has really been a problematic area for them for a few years now. If these players gel quickly together, then Man Utd are going to be challenging for the title no doubt about it.
2989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 29, 2021, 08:44:20 PM
^  Here’s one likely thing that I think could happen.  Strickland throws the volume and leads the early rounds and gets caught by Hall later in the match.  And 2.75 for Hall?  That’s a good line imo.  No way am I laying the chalk with Strickland at 1.47 even if I think he wins.

But as a safer bet, I’d go for the under.  Stickland could bring the violence too.
Not sure I'm convinced that Strickland could get Uriah out of there, but I can certaingly see it happening the other way around, and its probably the bet I'll be making on the night. Uriah can definitely bang, that's for sure. I can't believe those odds though, that's crazy what am I missing?

I really don't understand this low odds for Sean Strickland to win against Uriah Hall.
Both of them are in good form and Uriah Hall have 3 inch reach advantage and he has much better striking accuracy, but Strickland is better in grappling category.
Majority of wins for Uriah Hall are done by KO or TKO so we can expect to see interesting fight and clash of styles.
Strickland is more than capable of picking his shots, and beating Uriah. However, with his weakness in grappling I'd say Uriah could easily get him down to the floor, and then like I said before I'd fancy a ground, and pound victory for Uriah.
2990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: July 29, 2021, 08:42:23 PM
Liverpool:  Still could win the league but dunno...  Like you said, they need new signings.  I think that back line needs another good CB.  We’ve seen what happened with them without VVD.
Konate, VVD, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip should be enough in that center back position which was particularly problematic. Liverpool are vulnerable if they lose Trent more than anything. Its also worth noting that seasons like last season don't happen often, and they suffered several very long term injuries (1+ years) to some of their star players. They'll be much better this season.

United:  This could be a surprise.  They could either be really reeaally good or just good enough for a max spot of second in the league.  And I’m not really convinced with Solksjaer even tho he has Mike Phelan backing him.
I hate to say it, but if Moaninho was still at the club with these signings I would probably be putting them up at the top spot. I think they've finally solved a lot of their problem areas, other than their manager. I'm not convinced that Solsjaer is suitable for a club like Man United who should be challenging for the title every year.
2991  Other / Meta / Re: How to be on the first page or top of the list on Announcements (Altcoins) board on: July 29, 2021, 08:34:48 PM
I'm curious how far 1% of my base bump power gets me. Or better: I'm curious how much bumping power is spent on the top of the list. Before
If its any indicator, when I have used the bump button its almost always bumped it up to the top. I've never really paid attention to my bumping power at that point though, as it was mainly for testing it out without going into too much detail.

I believe I've tested this with a super bump, and a non super bump, and the end result was the same top spot.
2992  Other / Meta / Re: Is Bitcointalk.org losing user base? on: July 29, 2021, 08:31:53 PM
3. Reddit is one of the most popular social news website and it's not oriented on one task but there is a discussion and boards on almost every theme/subject and people prefer to use it because for that and also for the nice UI.
This is really the only one that comes close to comparable to Bitcointalk. However, its success isn't based on its quality, in fact I would say that its popularity is because of its lack of quality. The platform is designed mainly for lower quality content, and has a visibility feature which is easily abused. However, out of the ones you listed its the closest one that comes to Bitcointalk's goal, and that's quality based discussion. Don't get me wrong Reddit can have quality discussion, but because of its nature it tends to encourage lower based quality.
2993  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: July 29, 2021, 08:24:30 PM
There's lots of scams in YouTube. LOTS OF THEM. If you search for bitcoin giveaways, you'll get tons of clickbaits & obviously not yet confirmed scams. I'm in disagreement for having giveaways through our videos and that is why.
Like I said previously, there's a way to mitigate this through notifications. After all, we can't possibly spoon feed everyone, otherwise the interviews, and podcasts would have to be censored in fear of spreading misinformation, but that isn't the reality. I'd like to think that people are more inclined to research a shady looking Youtube video, than believing something just because their favourite infulencer said x is good. I mean, you only have to look at so called privacy conscious Youtube channels promoting VPNs which are no where near privacy conscious.
2994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ethics of boxing and gambling on: July 29, 2021, 10:42:26 AM
Its probably as ethical as gambling companies exploiting their users, there's long terms effects for both getting hit in the head, and spiraling into debt because gambling companies want people who are addicted to gambling on their platform spending money. Of course, it is horrible that boxers to sustain injuries long term, and there probably needs to be more done in that regard. However, they do know the risks, and they do sign on the dotted line. The issue is, this is most probably due to a lot of them coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, and trying to change their lives.

Its worth noting though, not every boxer sustains long term effects. So, while it obviously is a concern, and most definitely does happen its not like you are betting for that person to sustain long term injuries. Your betting on them to win the fight, and you do that with all sports, despite the risk of serious injuries. For example, I believe football has now implemented a rule where they can't header the ball in training sessions over a certain amount, depending on the severity of the collision with the ball, because of fears of it contributing to various long term head injuries. So, you could argue that if you bet on a footballing event, its the same as betting on a boxing event. Although, not quite the same because you are betting for boxers to get the KO sometimes. Although, then you could argue that its not the KO that does the damage, but rather the accumulative effect of getting punched in the head.
2995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: July 29, 2021, 10:39:40 AM
Here's my predictions for the new season:

1. Liverpool (if they make signings)
2. Manchester United
3. Manchester City
4. Chelsea

The thing with Liverpool is they haven't made any signings apart from Konate, who is a fantastic addition to their squad. However, they still lack that true striker, and while Firminho may come back to his best, it would be a safer bet to get someone in who is a proven outright striker, and then chop, and change them based on the opponent, and form.

Manchester United have made fantastic additions this summer. They've probably had the best window out of everyone in the Premier League, and I would expect them to either be first or second it really does depend on how well as a team they gel with the new players. The season after this one, I would expect them to be top of my list unless other teams make some serious signings.

This is probably the first time for a long time that Manchester City doesn't look so much better than the rest of the league on paper. They have lost a few important players over the years, and they haven't made many big signings. I feel like after many years of success they might actually be starting to stagnate, and as a result will struggle to stay on top with a constantly evolving league.

Last year I thought Chelsea signed some very good players, but they never really got to gel together, and as a result they probably under performed from a lot of fan's perspectives when they first heard about the type of players they were signing. Their success this season completely depends on whether they've worked out that issue. However, other teams like Manchester United have seriously stepped up their game in signings at least, and Chelsea no longer have the better players when you compare the two.
2996  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blocks of Crypto -- a Minecraft-Crypto Concept on: July 29, 2021, 10:29:18 AM
The question is whether there is a guaranteed exchange between the in game currency and the external cryptocurrency. If there isn't, it might be hard to convince people to still deposit real, externally usable cryptocurrencies. If there is, the in game currency might be regarded as a unit of account for the external cryptocurrency, and thereby possibly a collision with the EULA.
I haven't read the EULA in a long time, but I would assume that depositing for virtual currency within the game would break it already? Since, most games don't allow the sale of in game currencies, and I believe Minecraft also didn't allow purchasing of any non cosmetic items, which a virtual in game currency would violate that.

As long as the above is correct, allowing to deposit or cash out any real money would break the EULA regardless how you implement it.
2997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 29, 2021, 10:23:07 AM
Here’s the thing with the main event tho, Strickland is chinny and doesn’t shoot a lot of TD’s.  So for how his current is line is right now, it’s not worth it imo.  And Hall’s weakness is being taken down.
Yeah, Strickland has done well since coming back, but he hasn't really been tested all that much. Uriah will test him, and while Strickland has some very slick punches, Uriah if he ever gets in trouble will go for the take down, and probably get it. This could just be a war of attrition, and Uriah wins by control time or Uriah knocks him out probably via ground, and pound. I think Strickland could probably out strike Uriah in the stand up, but we haven't seen him perform well on the ground, and Uriah needs to recognize that early, and just take him down, wear him out so that at least if he can't get him out of there he will stay safe himself, and will wear down Strickland to the point where he won't have much left in the gas tank to actually throw punches.
2998  Other / Meta / Re: Users PAM:111 on: July 29, 2021, 10:14:03 AM
You'll probably see more of this since the merit source allocation change a week or so ago. I think there's already been a observable difference from the amount of merit that's being thrown around, and just by statistics more newbies will also catch some of them.
2999  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: July 29, 2021, 10:11:19 AM
For starters: Imagine LinusTechTips and the theme would be BitcoinTalk instead of tech reviews.

That would be great, probably one of the better channel out there for technology related content. Would be great if we could focus on the technology related to Bitcoin without actually endorsing certain products/companies like you mentioned.

Bitcoin game shows! That's a cool idea, though we need to either create a format of our own, or... find an open licensed format? Not sure if those exist, for any popular shows.
Yeah, I think collectively we could probably come up with a unique format of a Bitcoin related game show. I think the creation process of this would be just as fun as being in the game show.
3000  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: July 28, 2021, 07:37:49 PM
Fantastic news, I'm surprised you hired a external team for video production, but is probably the right move!

On another note; Bitcoin related game shows was also something running through my head while away from the forum. Might be a fun project in the future.
