Raphael Assuncao - Ricky Simon

Simon controlled his opponent on the ground for 3 minutes in the first round and tried to stomach more, tiring his opponent. He finished with a right hook in the 2nd round, it was a nice technical knockout. It's been easy for Ricky Simon and it's going pretty well.
Ricky Simon is one of the most underrated grapplers, and has proven he has decent power also. You know, 19-3 is a very good record considering the people he routinely fights. Its a competitive division, and I'd say hes just entering his prime at 29 years old. Could potentially be one of the main guys if he pushes for higher ranked fighters. Just think about it, only lost against Font, Faber, and Anderson Dos Santos. Those are some pretty respectable fighters to lose against, and while he hasn't got the most amazing wins against top fighters, I think hes ready to actually start making that push.
2482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley 2 - December 18 on: December 19, 2021, 08:14:44 PM
Well, I can't really be too hard on Jake Paul from now on, I'll probably have to lean on the side of giving him the benefit of the doubt. He obviously has the power to knock out professional fighters, which not everyone possesses. I'd like to see him against a outright boxer, but what he did last night was nothing short of impressive. I'll give him kudos where its deserved despite not being his fan. Haven't got too much to say about Tyrone personally, this stuff happens from time to time, and I'm not prepared to make excuses on his behalf either.

Jake did what he needed to do on a short notice fight.
2483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 14, 2021, 01:36:33 PM
I'm expecting a KO/TKO in both the Derrick Lewis fight, and the Wonderboy fight. Only doubt is the Wonderboy fight due to Wonderboy not exactly loading up on his shots, and being more a point based fighter. Though, I don't think Belal will have much to offer on the night. Very bad match up for him I'd say, I would be very surprised if he manages to get anything in the rounds. Not sure what his game plan will be, not particularly great at anything, while Wonderboy probably being one of the best stand up fighters in the UFC, despite slowing slightly with age.
2484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 12, 2021, 11:39:11 AM
What a night of fighting. One of the best in recent memory, and we've had a lot in the last year or so. The upsets went nuts, Nunes obviously being the biggest one. I would've never predicted that outcome, especially the way it went on the night. Ryan Hall didn't get his submission, but got the win which was a surprise to me as he was definitely close a few times.

Oliveria after taken an absolute beating come back from the dead, to secure a submission victory. What a bloody night, I didn't win anything because of the Ryan Hall decision, but my god what an awesome night for the fans.
2485  Other / Meta / Re: If the signature campaings are removed from the forum, will you stay or leave? on: December 10, 2021, 08:03:20 PM
Most will leave regardless, eventually. If the forum's administration continues to stay the way it is, I don't expect things to become better here. The OGs already left, when sig campaigns came around.

Think about this: Lauda left, Lutpin is Huh?, Zepher died(fuck.), same for Bruno(RIP), idk where escrow, tradefortress, or half of the OG ogs even are. Bitcointalk is no longer the iconic place it once was, it doesn't feel like the same forum where the likes of Hal Finney used to go around and speak with the community, hell even Satoshi was in the same forum; he fucking created the forum and now its a shitpile if anything.
Quite a few donators are still active, as in they're at least logging into the forum from time to time, although don't seem to participate in the discussions much. At the end of the day, if you've been around long enough, you'll see repeated content, that's just natural. We continuously have new users signing up, and asking basic questions, because they are the same type of questions we might have wanted to ask several years ago.

I do think this forum is better managed than a lot of the others on the internet, though you could potentially call me biased on that. I know at least there's staff here that are actually passionate about the forum, whereas other forums they might be doing it for the illusion of power or just getting paid. At least, most of the moderators I've had a chat with are passionate about how things run around here.

Of course, certain areas of the forum are less than ideal. I mean the Altcoins section is in particular pretty bad, however I dedicate a lot of time myself scouring that place, and moderating there, as do a few others. Some days I'm taking hundreds of actions in that section alone, and I'm also one of the patrollers. That's ignoring the fact that there's several others likely doing the same thing.

Signatures won't be banned because theymos knows that's the start of the end.
I do believe he's alluded to liking the idea of the forum having a sort of eco system. Though, I might be talking through my arse there as I can't actually find it, but that might be because I'm not searching the correct phrases used. I think theymos said something along the lines of liking that it's a thing, but if it becomes to much of a problem would have to look at dealing with that
2486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 10, 2021, 07:53:21 PM
I think that he leads to get the feel of it at first. Maybe throw some gaps, feel each other a little. You will surely maintain a distance with your opponent. I am talking about Ryan Hall by the way. His kicking is great and he will surely utilize his leg kicks. And If didn't even talk about Imanari roll. It will be hard to stand-up against him.
Placed my bet on Hall, hope will win tomorrow...
I'd say its highly unlikely if Ryan Hall is going to win, he won't be knocking his opponent out, and its unlikely to go to a decision. If its a BJJ match, then Ryan Hall likely has him submitted within a round or two, but probably the first round.

I've put a bet on for Ryan Hall by finish (mainly because I couldn't get just a submission bet) for 2.20 if I recall correctly. If he is to win, which is definitely a doubt due to his last outing, its got to be by submission, surely?

I'm probably biased because I quite like Ryan Hall, but he's my favourite of the night despite having some doubts because of his last outing. I actually think Sean O'Malley is going to run into an opponent that he won't be able to get out of there easy, and could potentially struggle. Although, I'm not quite sold on O'Malley yet, obviously a great talent, but flashy stuff doesn't always mean wins.

2487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Hash rate returned to its All-time high on: December 10, 2021, 12:43:34 AM
Can't wait for the news to catch onto this, and spin a story off about Bitcoin being bad for the environment once again. It'll be like clockwork. In fact, I'm quite surprised they haven't already start spinning it this way.

The last news I read was they were asking for public opinion on whether they should lift the ban or not.
We'll just go back to the ban-unban-ban-unban news if they actually lifted it.
Really? That sounds like the most anti Chinese government thing to do. Since when do they care about the opinion of their people? They place restrictions, and censor them whenever they're given the opportunity. No wonder China isn't all that stable, and most Chinese residents are finding ways around their restrictions they have in place.
2488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: December 10, 2021, 12:38:04 AM
I see no reason to give Joshua any benefit because Usyk is technically the better boxer, it is unfair to compare the Ruiz rematch with any potential Usyk rematch because yes it is true Joshua dominated Ruiz and won on points in the rematch but Ruiz was overconfident and overweight going in to the fight already having beaten Joshua and did not fully train - as he admitted later.
Yeah, it was a completely different fight. Ruiz looked like he gained quite a few pounds on the night, and also didn't look motivated at all. Plus, Joshua while he did box quite well, avoided any fire fights, and to be honest I think Ruiz has ruined Joshua's confidence in those tight spaces, which actually resulted in Joshua losing against Usyk.

Joshua has always been a fun fighter to watch, not because of his technique or his technical ability at all. We watch Joshua because he always has a chance to knock someone out, and the majority of the time does just that. Now, he looks reluctant, and I'm not even sure what his game plan was, since he walked into that ring, and tried to outbox a boxer he knows is much more technical than him.

The thing is I'm not convinced that Usyk is a heavy puncher at least not compared to the rest of the division, so I think if he can regain that confidence, and risk it like he did against Ruiz in the first fight, he'll end up knocking out Usyk. However, if he approaches it with the idea of showing off his technical ability, he'll get out pointed once again.
2489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 10, 2021, 12:33:33 AM
You can be right about this and Ryan Hall could get another loss from Darrick Minner, and comparing their body build maybe Minner has power on his takedown defense, and that Imanari Roll is really outdated right now maybe he builds new tricks up his sleeves well, I really don't want my expectation on Ryan Hall to disintegrate that is why I am giving this fight to him and if Darrick Minner could go on with a ground fight I really think Ryan Hall can have his way around, but If Minner can have a tip on Ryan Hall's recent fight against Ilia Topuria and preventing those Imanari Roll, and if Ryan Hall only knows that one technique they he surely underestimating the level of UFC right now.
This is often the case for Ryan Hall though. He doesn't really need the strength that other fighters have because he prioritises technique. Though, I have to admit a Ryan Hall who was semi decent at stand up, and someone who had a little more muscle to him would be absolutely scary for anyone in the division. It's a shame really that he didn't seem to fight more in the UFC, and try a different approach now, and again. HIs submissions are well pulled off most of the time, but I just wish he did try to become a more rounded fighter.

Obviously, he's getting on a bit now so its not likely going to happen. Would have also liked to see him fight more, but I do believe quite a few fighters were ducking him.
2490  Other / Meta / Re: If the signature campaings are removed from the forum, will you stay or leave? on: December 10, 2021, 12:27:50 AM
I've never really understood why there's such a stigma against signature campaigns or advertising on the forum via your signature. Signatures can be disabled, and while yeah there are definitely spammers, they should be reported to both the moderators, and the signature campaign manager. Hopefully they're handled appropriately from both points of view.

However, the vast majority of users at least within the Bitcoin section advertising for Bitcoin paying campaigns are pretty decently run, with only a few exceptions. The problem lies in the altcoin section which is predominately paying in tokens which aren't worth anything at the time of signing up, let alone a few months down the line.

Though, there's definitely a lot of reports handled when they're reported, and several moderators seem to skim the section looking for trouble users. So, despite the altcoin section getting over run, there's a conscious, and relentless approach to dealing with it.

Amanda Nunes VS Julianna Peņa

I don't know why the UFC has pushed this fight through I mean I really think this is a missed match, because well I don't really want to say that Julianna Peņa is weak, I am saying that Amanda Nunes is just way stronger for her, even though Amanda Nunes is having her baby for the 1st time and she had focused in the family life for quite some time now but for me, Amanda Nunes could still bulldoze her, I may be one-sided with this pick but I surely think she could win this, and stake odds was surely has a huge difference 1.12 for Nunes and 7.40 for Peņa, well if you have bet for Peņa and she wins then you hit the jackpot but then again it is not profitable to bet for Nunes so I will sit this one out. but my pick would be Amanda Nunes for the win.

Ryan Hall VS Darrick Minner

This is a fight between wrestlers but for me, Darrick Minner can win on Submission and can also lose on submission, and for me, Ryan Hall can shine with this fight because Ryan Hall really wants to fight on the ground so if you Minner wants to fight on the ground Hall can surely oblige with that move and can win this, I think the level of difference between these two with their wrestling is huge and I think Ryan Hall has that advantage, stake odds 1.50 for Hall and 2.75 for Minner, I will go with Ryan Hall with this one.
Unfortunately, at least two women's divisions are utterly dominated by one person who is clearly multiple levels above the competition. Both physically, and skillset which unfortunately makes poor viewing. The women's divisions for this reason are usually more exciting when prospects, and ranked, but not top ranked fighters face each other. Usually, get quite a few good fights then. Although, the championship fights are usually quite lackluster due to the clear mismatch. Rose obviously did well recently though.

I just can't bet against Ryan Hall on the ground.  I can see him losing quite a few fights against a striker, just like his last fight. Quite a few times in his career hes been caught on the head rolling in, and those that can resist the takedown are fairly safe against him. However, when you commit to rolling with him, its almost like its his world even against top level wrestlers, and BJJ practitioners.
2492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley 2 - December 18 on: December 08, 2021, 11:17:51 PM
Don't worry. Jake Paul's reputation won't be changed even he will win continuously unless he will now fight a real professional boxer in their prime.
Without knowing what went on behind the scenes, and seeing evidence of Tommy's injuries we can't really assume this was a dodge. So, we can't really blame Jake Paul for Tommy pulling out. I wouldn't hold it against Jake in this case, I'm not a huge fan of Jake Paul, but he isn't the one to blame. Although, that doesn't mean Tommy is to blame either, accidents, and injuries happen there's no real way of avoiding them. Just unfortunate timing.

Woodley on his day isn't a slouch, I think the concern is his day was about 10 years ago. Nah, but seriously Woodley still possesses the ability to knock out Jake Paul, and that's what makes this fight at least a little bit interesting.
2493  Other / Meta / Re: If the signature campaings are removed from the forum, will you stay or leave? on: December 08, 2021, 10:35:42 PM
First of all, I quite like the idea that I can earn some money on the side while doing something that I intended on doing anyway, because I enjoy it. I probably posted a lot more when I wasn't in a signature campaign years ago, naturally I've become a little more busy as time progresses, and you could probably say I've matured a little more, and aren't quite as excited as I was before to get involved in discussions.

Though, I still have a passion for the forum unlike any other I've encountered. Some might think that the moderator position effects my attitude towards signature campaigns, but I don't think so. I love the mod position, and I also love earning while doing something I would do anyway; post. I think it's natural at times to be more motivated to post when your earning from it, I won't deny that's obviously a motivation for a lot of users, but if the content is good, I say let it be, and not worry too much about the motivation behind it.

I literally don't participate in any other forum, and I think that speaks a lot for the quality of content available here. Yeah, the forum has its problems, but what doesn't have its problems these days. Bitcoin something we're all here for, has its problems.

I'm also someone that struggles to pick up new habits, for example I've been introduced to several other ways of communicating about Bitcoin, and other interests, but they never really stick. The forum has, and I'm going on eight years now since I've registered. I definitely haven't been in a signature campaign for that amount of time, so yeah I would definitely be still here.

Although, I do concede that this forum would likely lose a lot of traffic, and I have no way of verifying that, but it does seem a lot of users come here with the prospect of making money either through altcoins or through Bitcoin signature campaigns, which I'm totally fine with.

There are still few (as I know)  who do not wear signatures even though they can easily wear and get accepted everywhere. They are the real ones who would like the signature free forum.
I think there's likely quite a few users here who would prefer a signature free forum, but while its not they might as well earn a little something on the side. I don't really have too many complaints about users using it like this.
2494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tor browser Bitcointalk members read this on: December 08, 2021, 09:54:40 PM
Doesn't attempt to deanonymize Tor users happen almost everyday? But i wouldn't worry too much since the attack usually exploit human mistake or target specific people.
Probably goes on a lot more than we would care to admit. Since, anyone who wants to run a exit node, could potentially sniff out data from its users. Although, considering the amount of Tor exit nodes, this rather chance based, and the likelihood of the malicious user achieving their goals against specific people is rather slim.

I do like the initiative though. If we want freedom, and the freedom to be anonymous, since there are definitely reasons to want to remain anonymous for legitimate reasons, mostly from web hosts collecting your data, run a node if possible. Just like Bitcoin, the more nodes we have the more secure the network is.
2495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley 2 - December 18 on: December 08, 2021, 09:49:49 PM
Jake Paul and team are picking and choosing the fighters where they think is their best choice to win and make millions per fight and till now they are successful in finding opponents and promoting the fight and make millions per fight Grin.
I wouldn't be critical of this too much, this happens in boxing frequently even with bigger names. Anthony Joshua, Fury all had to go through journeymen before getting to where they are, and they likely cherry picked names along the way, in fact I'd say it was in the boxing promoters interest to keep the hype train of Anthony Joshua going as long as possible, since there was clearly holes in his boxing, but wasn't exploited until recently.

The day Joshua lost the fight against Ruiz, and seemly lost his confidence is the day boxing took a big hit to their wallets. Yeah, he's still a big name, but he definitely isn't bringing in the same type of money he once was.

Jake can't be expected to come into a new sport, and take on the hardest opponents that he can. Yeah, that would make a statement, but I think beating Woodley is a statement enough. He has at least beat a professional fighter who had won a few accolades along the way. Though, it makes sense to progress from close to amateur level fighters, to a fighter who isn't trained specifically in boxing, but has some reputation attached to his name.
2496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 08, 2021, 09:45:56 PM
I would add that some people can not just take multiple shots throughout their career, but their health does not suffer from it. But I still can't get behind the idea that that doesn't add up in a way. Obviously, the combination of great technique and toughness is the best option, but people that are tough usually don't develop great technique, so there is always a trade-off.
Yeah, it very much likely does contribute to ill health. However, unfortunately the understanding of the brain is rather lackluster. Though, significant amounts of money is being poured into it thanks to sports recently. For example, other sports like Football are investigating whether headering a football has an impact on brain health, so you can imagine what a career's worth of punches, and kicks is going to give you.

Though, data is rather inconclusive, obviously we do know to some extent that impact on the brain definitely can damage it, and I would say there's some sort of weak evidence that points to volume being worse than impact of the hit, since boxers seem to have considerably more brain injuries or illnesses linked with CTE than fighters in MMA.
2497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul on: December 08, 2021, 09:42:23 PM
If Jake beats Woodley once again, this will be a biggest embarrassment for whole MMA community.

I hope that Jake and Tommy would fight in future, however it will be hard to organize, if Jake wins Woodley, as he will turn into a bigger star and wont be interested that much in Tommy Fury candidacy.

According to google, it takes several months to heal a broken rib. I hope to seen their fight in Q1 2022.
I don't think its that much of an embarrassment. If you put Jake Paul in a cage he probably doesn't last 5 minutes, let alone win the fight. That's without going up against Woodley, I'd say most MMA fighters would do a job on Jake. So, expecting it on the flip side for Woodley to go in there, and put on a boxing masterclass feels a little misguided.

Yeah, boxing is a part of MMA, however boxing in boxing is much more different than boxing in MMA. Completely different. I think the only thing that would truly embarrass MMA fans is a knockout for Jake Paul, although he wasn't anywhere close last time. It was Woodley who looked the most likely, and in fact definitely did get a knockdown (per boxing rules) that wasn't counted.
2498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale bought $150 worth of Bitcoins during the dip. on: December 08, 2021, 09:38:54 PM
It's definitely worth considering that while $150 million sounds like a lot to the average person, it's somewhat like pocket change to some multi-billionaires or companies. They can often run out of places to park or diversify their money but Bitcoin gives them another spending outlet. However, it's very possibly one of the giant companies like Paypal
Its mainly companies making these types of moves, even for someone rich, considering that most wealth is public data to some extent at least. An individual is definitely going to notice that amount of money, so while I get the point your making, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things how much it's worth to them.

The important part is this is a significant amount invested into Bitcoin at a dip, which contributes to people gaining faith, and creating a domino effect in buying more Bitcoin. So, while it might not be much to the person or company that's decided to do this, it's definitely quite significant to the wider Bitcoin user base.
2499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 08, 2021, 09:13:37 PM
I just made my predictions for UFC Sportsbet promotion and I honestly think this is going to be very good fight card to watch.
Even prelims with big heavyweights Augusto Sakai and Tai Tuivasa will be bombastic and I don't know for sure who will win that fight.
One of the fights I've had a eye on for a while too. Should be a close fight, and the odds are showing that with both 1.80 / 1.90. Although, I could never bet against my man Tai Tuivasa, he made me a fan for his down to earth nature, and entertainment.

Ryan Hall's fight, Tai Tuivasa fight, to keep me entertained while I wait for Oliveria to submit Poirier Wink. Nah, I really don't know what's going to happen in the main event, same with pretty much all three of these fights. Though, due to the return I'm going to have to bet on a Ryan Hall submission, Oliveria Submission, and a Tai Tuivasa knockout.
2500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 08, 2021, 05:42:21 PM
Already have it planned for this weekend; wings, pizza, and some beers for the event. Last time I was this excited for an event, Conor snapped his ankle so be prepared Cheesy.
How can you recover from that? But Guida did, and won the fight in the second round. Amazing stuff.
I know this is a cliche, but some people are just built different, and are able to absorb a tremendous amount of damage. You can have all the technique in the world, e.g riding the shots while they come at you, tucking the chin when striking, but certain people just seem to have more of a threshold than others.

Just look at Kattar, and how much damage he suffered against Max Holloway. I do believe Max that night set the record for number of punches in a UFC fight, which is unreal considering almost all of them were landing quite significantly.
