3361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: May 11, 2021, 09:57:33 AM
Who knows. Doesn’t make it any less funny. I used to hate both the Paul brothers but I’m turning into a full on fan of them both. Their good cap bad cop thing is really working for them. I just hope the got your hat nonsense doesn’t somehow cost Logan his chance to fight and collect himself the biggest check of his life.
Its worked their entire career. Their "childishness" has always been a major factor in why they are so popular, because that naturally brings controversy. I actually quite like Logan, yeah he has done some messed up stuff in the past, but I'm not the type of person to brand a person based on their mistakes. Instead, after that big mistake he changed his view, and seemed to mature a lot. Now, I don't know if that was a business decision to save his brand, but hes got me sold on liking him.

For Jake. I can't bring myself to like him, although I'm definitely aware that his "bad boy" sort of attitude, and the more ego centric driven character out of the brothers is likely a business decision too. Its like Conor Mcgregor, I don't think he was a total arse when he first started out, I think he just understood what fans want, and how to build a fight. Exactly, what Jake has done his entire career.

Although, I do think putting up a character too long, usually results in them actually becoming that character, but I've never met them off camera, so they both could be really good dudes. Although, having acknowledged that, I can only judge them based on what I have seen, and my conclusion is I quite like Logan, hope he shocks the world with a win against Mayweather, and I'm still not very fond of Jake, and hoping that his fighting career is somewhat derailed or at least the hype behind him.

Plus, lets not kid ourselves. Most fighters need to put a front up, and act like they hate their opponent. Not just because of the fans, and building the fight, but to fight someone you need to be able to set aside any sort of affection for them, and want to actually knock them out. I don't know if any of you have sparred against friends or family, but its constantly in your mind, that you don't actually want to hurt them, even in sparring. So, an actual fight has that even greater pressure.
3362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Separate OS with separate drivers, one for mining and one for gaming? on: May 11, 2021, 09:47:37 AM
Hopefully, I'm not missing anything, and this should be enough to protect the bios from a very smart trojan.
There aren't many people who would target the likes of me, and you capable of creating as sophisticated code, so generally you would likely be safe from one that embeds itself at a bios level. So, "very smart" malicious programs would likely still be able to do it, however you aren't likely going to be a target for these more sophisticated approaches, there's simply better targets for them. Plus, the mediums you are likely to visit, and download from aren't likely to be a place where these things are hosted. Although, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be cautious, and take very precaution necessary.

So, following the advice of others here, and not downloading from non trusted sources you should generally be fine.
3363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 11, 2021, 09:38:43 AM
So, are we really counting out Ferguson already? I'm actually a fan of him, he will fight anyone, and although he did definitely get pieced up by Justin, he always brings a fight. Don't forget it wasn't like it was completely clean sailing for Justin, he also got dropped if my memory serves me correctly. "Old" man Ferguson still has it in him yet, and I believe while not being favorite here, he has more of a chance that people are letting on.
3364  Other / Archival / Re: A secure device dedicated to using cryptocurrencies safe use on: May 07, 2021, 09:12:50 AM
Therefore, all manuals are, of course, useful, but all responsibility for their safety always rests on the shoulders of the user.
It is necessary not only to keep your devices clean but also to constantly monitor news about emerging viruses to take timely action to protect against them.
Security, and vulnerability is significantly linked with how the user uses their system. Although, Linux is not only safer because of the way its been designed. Its safer because its much less of a target, than Windows. This is simply because the vast amount of population is using Windows as their primary operating system, there's also the correlation, that Linux tends to attract more advanced users, and not the users which are prime targets for malicious users.

Although, you could in fact increase your security ten fold, by either physically compartmentalizing or using software that virtually does it for you. I've talked about Qubes OS a few times, but it basically allows you to isolate different parts of your machine, so that if one is compromised, it won't all be compromised. The benefit here, other than the clear benefit of compartmentalizing is Qubes OS due to the way its designed, operates a little different from other virtualization software, and traditional operating systems, it means that there's much less malicious attacks out there that will compromise the system.

Physically compartmentalizing is the best approach, although its likely overkill for most people. Plus, it can be tedious. I've tried doing it physically, and depending on your needs it can be rather expensive if you need powerful machines for your activity. So, Qubes OS or another compartmentalizing operating system is the next best thing.

However, to return to your original point. Of course, Linux users can be attacked. Linux isn't impenetrable, but the security is definitely an improvement over Windows, and therefore your reducing your scope of error even if you are security conscious.
3365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 06, 2021, 03:42:17 PM
Here's a few of my predictions;

Harry Kane to Manchester United which would be an incredible transfer.

Mohammad Salah or Sadio Mane to be sold, to fund a move for Jadon Sancho.

Obviously, Liverpool are apparently in advanced talks with Ibrahima Konate which will be a decent option, and I think they would have finally got adequate backup. Feel they'll be a real force in the league again, but for that too be possible they'll either need to find a way of getting Firminho firing again or alternatively look to a new signing to play in the position of striker while dropping firminho back a little bit.

Arsenal HAVE to make signings. I don't know who, but they need too. This might be helped by if they manage to win the Europa League. Also, Tottenham will need to replace Harry Kane if he was to leave, which I think they might look at someone like Danny Ings. I don't think there's been any link of the two, but I feel like he's definitely a top club striker.

Also, I think Mbappe, and Haaland will both stay as their respective clubs. Mbappe due to money issues, I only see one or two clubs being able to afford is demands, and maybe only one club that would be able to justify it. Those being Manchester City or Real Madrid. Haaland I think will stay at Dortmund for another year.
3366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: May 06, 2021, 03:35:00 PM
Well, it seems that the chances of seeing this happening aren't so far away. The main thing as I see it it's that this rare occasion seems to be becoming routine! If I'm not mistaking the last time that we see four EPL teams in both major European competitions finals was back in 2019. Just 2 years ago... Shocked
Not surprising it seems the draw of the Premier League is bringing in not only top talent, but top managers too. Tuchel, Guardiola, and Jurgen Klopp. I remember saying at the beginning of this season, or was it last? I don't know anymore, the two seasons have become meshed inside my brain due to Covid, but there were several big names signings, especially from Chelsea with Lampard at the helm. As well as the recent decline of Spanish football, well at least the top two clubs, particularly the whole situation revolving around Messi, and Barcelona I just think the appeal for English football is starting to really be a driving force behind signings. I think we'll see more coming in the next transfer window, with Jadon Sancho making a return to English football.
3367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 06, 2021, 12:26:13 PM
I'm thinking Chelsea with Tuchel at the helm can beat Man City, and ruin their chances of getting their first champions league title. At least, that's who I'll be betting for especially with the likes of Kante now hitting a real nice run of form. He looked absolutely sensational, against a normally very good Real Madrid midfield, yet Chelsea were in total control.

I think Real Madrid have lost because they are overly dependent on Benzema. Benzema is the only Real Madrid scorer. Real Madrid could have scored if there had been another talented striker like Benzema, and the outcome of the match might have changed.
Except for the initial spell of success Real Madrid had, they didn't really pose a massive amount of threat, and that started at the midfield. They couldn't get control of the midfield, and therefore Benzema was somewhat starved. I don't think another striker would have made a difference, it was the midfield they needed to regain control of.
3368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: May 06, 2021, 12:22:43 PM
I've got both Arsenal, and Manchester United on my accumulator so hopefully these English teams don't mess it up. It would be pretty nice to see a all English final, in both the Europa League, and Champions League. I feel fairly confident with Arsenal pulling it off, but with Man Utd already being up by a decent amount, and their game with Liverpool looming I feel they could look to rest a few players here, and mess a good looking accumulator for me.
3369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being unpredictable on: May 06, 2021, 12:15:18 PM
Don't play with the same people, that's really the only way of being unpredictable, even then if you've ever participated in high level sports, or anything for that matter as the skill level increases, you expect your opponents to be better, and therefore they will generally follow similar strategies, since its proven to work.

Going back to poker specifically, at higher leveled games, and therefore higher stakes at hand, its not unknown for the players to have studied the psychology of humans, and therefore attempt to look for these triggers which the player isn't even aware they are doing themselves. The fact is, our body gives off more indications off subconsciously, than we do while we are consciously thinking. The only way you can truly become unpredictable, is learning what your body does, identifying it, and then training it via muscle memory to prevent "leaking" these indications. There's a few books out there, and podcasts which talk about this side of the game, and generally we are talking about the higher staked games here, rather than your local pub get together game.
3370  Other / Off-topic / Re: Slapping Tournament on: May 06, 2021, 12:13:14 PM
I think Muay Thai Sports is more deserving to be listed in sportsbooks compared to this slapping Tournament.

All I can say, this is too boring, Muay Thai on the other hand has more to offer. Fighting styles, pieces of training, experience, and counter. Meaning to say that strength isn’t the only thing you had to weigh compared to Slapping Tournament.

But honestly, I don’t see the point Slapping Tournament should exist. This is a very boring competition, the contenders are mostly douchebags (sorry for the words). I was able to see a man joined this with a muscled implanted and I really found it gross and I pity the man.
I agree with your first point. Although, I'm not sure I could say this is undeserving because its boring. I mean, I find Golf a absolute bore to watch, I'd rather go paint the Garage, and I hate painting, but a lot of people find it relaxing, and nice to watch. While the slapping competitions can be interesting to watch, I've found myself like many others down the Youtube hole watching these various slapping competitions, just because I'm surprised that a guy who's expecting a massive slap in the face, still gets knocked out by a slap. Although, I must admit most tend to be punches disguised as a slap.

Where does one even watch a slapping contest on TV rather than just replays on Youtube?
3371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: May 06, 2021, 12:09:00 PM
Logan finished 5th in the state in wrestling in high school (with a slight injury) and made a division 1 wrestling team in college. I know he’s got the fighter spirit in him and he very obviously has the physicality to cause problems. The only thing in the air (in my opinion) is whether he has the skills to touch Floyd. I sort of don’t think he does, but he’s been training hard and shit happens. I stand by my thought that Logan has a better chance than he’s being given, and will happily admit to being dead wrong if Logan gets his ass knocked out in the first round.
I treat wrestling, and getting hit in the face a little differently. He's definitely got dedication, and heart he wouldn't be where he is today if he didn't. He's in tremendous shape too, so he's obviously someone who works hard. I don't doubt that, and I know he was a good wrestler. (I believe in the USA, state wrestling is held to a rather high regard). However, I'm not convinced he has that killer instinct that's needed to put the pressure on in a boxing match. I can only go by what I've seen, and the fight against the Youtube guy, he was hesitant, and despite the very well timed, and executed uppercut, he largely avoided throwing many combinations at all.

Hey, at the end of the day its a fight, and we have weight classes for a reason. Smaller men, generally don't do well against bigger men. So, definitely he has a punchers chance, although I'm significantly doubting it, it may well happen. I would be more than happy to put my hands up, and say well done to Logan. If Logan manages to knock out Floyd Mayweather, that would be incredible not only for him, but also for boxing. I'm actually secretly wanting Logan to win, although that doesn't mean I have much hope of that actually manifesting.
3372  Other / Meta / Re: Activity issue on: May 06, 2021, 12:02:42 PM
I thought the total login time affects.
Yesterday my activity count was only 784 and today it has increased by 798. I saw that some members younger than me (included yours) have had more activity than mine, even 1.3x. The number of days since I registered until now is 1254 days.
As suggested, posts only within the two ish week period are counted towards activity. Time spent online != Activity. It can be confusing, but basically the more you post, the more likely you are to hit these periods which give activity, since you only need to post once inside of them to gain the 14 activity or potential activity since you would still need equal or more posts than the potential activity for it to be displayed.
3373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unban Bitcoin in pakistan on: May 06, 2021, 12:00:02 PM
Are Pakistanis still trading after the ban should be the question, if they are trading just like Nigeria are still trading crypto after the ban, the price may not really be affected immediately. Also with how the country is, I do not think if crypto are legalized in the country will result to any significant effect on bitcoin price.
Without taking a look at the data, absolutely. This has been proven time, and time again. Every single time a country bans Bitcoin, there is still a massive amounts of volume coming out of the country. Plus, we've seen several countries sort of boomerang back, and forth between banning it, and allowing it. Which suggests to me that as I previously stated; the countries that generally are banning it, are trying to censor their population, and that population is generally aware of that. I honestly thought, it would have an impact, but if anything China was speculated to be trading more than when it was banned.
3374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Secure Our Wallet to Prevent Being Hacked! on: May 06, 2021, 11:28:17 AM
If your OS version is not updated with the latest security upgrades, it can be compromised when this is detected by the hacker.
Even if it is updated it could still be compromised, so you shouldn't assume because your up to date in the latest software that you aren't a potential target. Although, what your saying is possible, its much more likely that the hacker will look at the unencrypted information you are entering on the WIFI, and therefore look for passwords, rather than actually compromising your machine itself.

Security is important, but we tend to put emphasis on hackers like they are geniuses, when in reality most hackers are using well known exploits, or using someone else's script. There's not too many hackers which are adept enough to code their own sophisticated attacks, especially since their opponent is either Apple, Microsoft or Linux, which constantly monitor the space, and make improvements.
3375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 06, 2021, 11:23:53 AM
I think Gillespie will find it a tough fight, but I have faith that he'll overcome whatever is in front of him. I do think its going to be a predominately stand up fight, despite Ferreiras decorated jiu jitsu. It could go either of two ways, we have a stand up fight which one of these guys could be getting knocked out or it'll be a safer approach for both of them, and the wrestling will take a points decision. I do think if its a stand up fight like I'm anticipating Gillespie will have the better hands, and ultimately win via decision or knock out.

Whats our thoughts on Daukaus taking the win? Currently have him on an accumulator with 3 matches already won, with Daukaus, Ribas, and another couple of football matches to net around 13k.
3376  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't ever quit your job to trade crypto. on: May 06, 2021, 11:19:18 AM
Crazy decision to be made by anyone since we cannot really earn a fortune for trading in first year of our career here maybe they should learn first before they quite since they will break everything what they have if they risk their future for tradings we know bear market always strikes and its dangerous if we caught and left bag holding since we possibly end up broke and became homeless if we push this idea.
Not completely crazy, although trading really isn't something I would recommend for those that are new to either cryptocurrencies or trading in general, because of their extremely volatile nature, a seasoned trader probably will have a lot of fun, because of its volatile nature. There's definitely profits to be made, and you could also argue that holding Bitcoin long term, might be as risky depending on your faith in the technology.

I wouldn't recommend anyone quits their job, to pursue something they've not had experience with. However, if you are good at it, and have enough experience then I why not. Bitcoin trading is as profitable as anything really.
3377  Other / Meta / Re: The signature campaign “syndrome” on: May 06, 2021, 11:13:40 AM
Signature bearers post > Non-Signature bearer posts
I think the signature campaign has done more good to the forum in terms of post quality than bad,
That entirely depends on your perspective, as I know a lot of older users would prefer the atmosphere back when there was a smaller, more tightly knitted group of users. So, doing more good isn't exactly a good measure, as what I might think is good for the  forum, you might think otherwise. Although, undoubtedly signature campaigns have helped with the growth of the user database, and has likely contributed to the amount of activity here.

I actually quite like we have a sort of sub economy here, even if that is advertising. Something which users usually want to get away from. Although, the difference is I actually do want to see Bitcoin services being advertised, as they are usually better than their centralized fiat alternatives.

Shit posters cannot represent a brand anyway.
In a perfect world, but some of the campaigns or bounties look like they actually actively target those that are low quality, so they can pay them peanuts, while also getting their brand out there through sheer volume.
3378  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Secure Our Wallet to Prevent Being Hacked! on: May 06, 2021, 08:06:56 AM
I do not know how true this information is, but any browser hung with various add-ons will always pose a danger to the owner.
Any extension that you have installed which isn't open sourced, and hasn't been verified by either yourself or others has the potential of compromising your data. Therefore, you shouldn't just install any extension, plus personally I don't see the need to install several extensions at a time. Honestly, I could only recommend security/privacy open sourced extensions such as Ublock Origin, potentially a No Script extension if that suits your purposes.
3379  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unknown things to newbies on: May 06, 2021, 08:03:34 AM
Although, it is good to know the various abbreviations about, I'd recommend not using them yourself unless you've already stated what it means in your post. For example, if I was to talk about DT without actually specifying what it means prior, it wouldn't make much sense to those that aren't clued up on the forum. You should, aim to write your post in such a way that its understandable from everyone's point of view. For example, writing DefaultTrust (DT), and then later using "DT" is fine, as you've already established what DT means.

This is especially true when it comes down to technical terms. You should be giving someone a chance to be able to search up technical terms, and learn themselves without complicating the matter by giving them abbreviations. Bitcoin is already complicated enough, and this forum also has its fair share of complex concepts if you aren't familiar with it. Its best to keep everything as clear, and concise as possible.
3380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When you heard about Bitcoin vs. When you first used Bitcoin on: May 06, 2021, 07:57:38 AM
I can't remember exact dates or even a period of time, but I'd like to think I got into Bitcoin as soon as I heard about it. I can't really remember. However, I do remember I was looking for an alternative for Paypal, and payment processors at the time, and that's how I stumbled upon Bitcoin. So, I probably got into it in a short period of time after happening upon it.

I wish I had a clearer recollection, but I don't think it was of any significance upon discovery, I do remember being pretty new to the concept of cryptocurrencies, and not having a clue. So, it definitely took me a while to actually get up to speed with things.
