3201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do many mainstream economists always oppose Bitcoin? on: July 24, 2021, 05:44:20 PM
Unfortunately, most mainstream economists are so used with the traditional types of investment instruments in the market. Anything that is relatively new (especially if media has stigmatized BTCs), they would oppose it.

The problem with most mainstream economists stems from being too close-minded to change. They oppose the idea that a revolutionary payment scheme that eliminates third-party consensus cannot be sustainable in the long-term. But in fact, this would be the main consideration in the near future where the world shifts to digital currency- and the blockchain technology will play a huge part on that.
3202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why newbies lose huge money in trading on: July 24, 2021, 01:32:01 PM
Most newbies lose huge amount of money because, after learning the basics of trading they feel they know it all, they think they can manipulate through the market. But they end up losing big.

No matter what you are thought, you must know this that to be a successful trader, it takes practice and consistency.

I read an article before which stated that 97% of beginner traders lose money in their first trading experience and only 3% earn as much as a bank teller.

The problem with trading is that experience is key. Reading all the books about trading or knowing the market can help a beginner but experience will still prevail. In addition, most beginner traders think that trading is easy. It's definitely complicated as it requires extreme patience and determination in order to profit at the end of the trading period.
3203  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism: Where Do We Draw the Line? on: July 24, 2021, 07:21:22 AM
...but how we are going to differentiate the accidental plagiarism and intentional plagiarism since impossible to identify, so everyone will hide under the accidental mistake when they get ban and enjoy the perks.
It's hard to determine the intent for sure but I don't agree that it's impossible. Maybe we can call it intentional plagiarism if a member does it more often than what would be acceptable as accident? Like it's considered accidental if he forgot to place the link to an article only once or twice?

There's no difference between 'accidental' or 'intentional' plagiarism since the outcome is the same. Whether the act is done unilaterally or accidental, if the copied content is plagiarized then you suffer the consequences listed on the forum.

The very nature of plagiarism stems from a person causing it to appear that he/she originally did the work, but in fact, copied it without the consent of the original author. Like in our law, even if you do not have any bad intention to do something, but if the law prohibits it then you are liable malum prohibitum.
3204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should online gambling companies be responsible for harm related activities? on: July 24, 2021, 02:27:17 AM
Have these companies taken any steps to minimize the harm related to online gambling?  Is their CSR functional? Not all bet sites encourage responsible gambling because they rely on revenue from the losses of  gambling addicts. My question is, should online gambling companies be responsible for the harm related to their activities because of their current failures in the implementation and control of CSR policies?

I don't think so since engaging into any gambling activity is purely a unilateral act- they never forced anyone to gamble and the person bears all the responsibility of his losses.

From what I learned in by business degree, all the CSR made by businesses are nothing but words to make it appear that they care for their consumers. But in reality, all businesses have the end goal of profiting themselves. Even if they try to create a 'healthy gambling activity meter, etc.' at the end of the day that will definitely harm their business.
3205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥 [ANN][AIRDROP] DeRace: Virtual NFT Horse Racing Powered by $DERC ✅ on: July 23, 2021, 04:56:21 PM
The project does look interesting as if offers new ideas that are attractive to the public. However, along with the other issues present in other projects as well, will it be possible if you could post the real pictures of your team members together with their full names and links to their respective social media accounts?

Posting their real pictures together with their names would definitely help the project in proving its legitimacy. This would be beneficial to the project in the long-term especially that everyone knows who are accountable for such.

3206  Economy / Economics / Re: Does studying Economics in School make one to be economical or what on: July 23, 2021, 04:09:07 PM
What do you mean by being 'economical'?

I find this question very difficult to answer as it does not provide any further details but studying economics can definitely help you understand the fundamentals on how the economy works. If you know the basics, history, origin, and the theories, it can help you arrive at a decision in terms of your finances either short/long-term. Although this may help, studying economics as a major is not entirely essential as people can learn using various textbooks or videos on the internet.

As an analogy, in order to understand the market further, it is very important if you first handedly experience it like driving. No matter how many times you read about driving, the only way to learn is to actually do it.
3207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will everyone still believe in Elon Musk? on: July 23, 2021, 03:20:29 PM
I think it is hypocritical to scold Musk when he criticizes Bitcoin, and to praise him when he is optimistic about Bitcoin. I think he should take his thoughts and concerns about Bitcoin seriously, because many outsiders have these ideas. But at the same time, people should ignore his flip-flops on Twitter or act like a child. Elon Musk is just a person like everyone else. Stop using Elon Musk as an argument for or against Bitcoin, but actually listen to what he has to say and think about whether you have the answer.

We are not hypocrites, we support Bitcoin. What do you think we are going to do?

The problem with Elon Musk is actually his supporters. Although I completely understand that he is one of the richest people in the world and he holds great value of influence, sometimes, even when he is wrong people do still follow him.

I remember, Elon tweeted something that is related to vaccine and people reacted negatively to him. He went against Science and fact! In addition, I remember him tweeting about the rise of DogeCoin and the latter's price increased tenfold. At this point, just take advantage of whatever he tweets about since his influence affects greatly with thousands of his followers.
3208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler? on: July 23, 2021, 09:02:01 AM
Remember that gambling establishments are all businesses in which their goal is always to earn money.

The phrase 'the house always wins' is a common trend in all gambling establishments due to the odds being more favourable to them. Of course, there will always be that chance a person might win the jackpot and it may seem like they are putting the gambling establishment to bankruptcy but it gets its proceeds from all the losses incurred by other gamblers as well.

Regardless, I associate myself with the gambler as anything that I do involves risks.
3209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your betting budget on: July 22, 2021, 03:11:38 PM
In the past, I didn't pay attention to how much money I spend on gambling, which from the time perspective I think was very reckless.
For several years, I have been trying to be very careful with gambling-related expenses.
If I don't have any additional bonuses or lucky winnings, the maximum amount I spend on gambling per month is not more than $150, but I often manage not to exceed even $100/month.
For me it is a big budget, because for me the budget for gambling should be kept to a minimum and then we can continue to use the funds for the next bet from the profits obtained. when I can make a win at the beginning with several wins to get back the initial capital, then I can gamble comfortably without any pressure. Therefore, I never use large capital to gamble, because it will only create stress when gambling.

To be honest, this is easier said than done; that is why the best solution to this is to avoid bringing your cards and/or excess cash.

Only bring money that you are willing to lose. If not, you are open to the possibility of continuously betting especially if you experience a losing streak. You need to have control in your emotions since it can compel you to bet money more than you actually planned. That is why, bet with an open mind and heart- accept defeat if ever you lost all of your betting budget.
3210  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Another KYC requirements ng coins.ph? on: July 22, 2021, 02:45:57 PM

This is actually true. Wala din ako idea kung bakit biglang bumaba yung level ng account ko despite na verified na ako sa coins.ph since 2017. Nagulat na lang ako na bumaba yung transaction limit ko sa coins.ph after not using the app for like a month?

Well nevertheless, nag submit lang din naman ako ng KYC documents and after that, bumalik na account level ko and tumaas na ulit transaction limit ko. Maybe it is like a security function sa kanila on inactive accounts? Not sure pero sana hanggang ganito lang.
3211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm now all in BTC. All eggs in one basket! on: July 22, 2021, 01:43:31 PM
The plan is to HODL as much BTC I earn as possible since I do believe that in a few years from now, its price will skyrocket!

While I am against your strategy of putting all eggs in one basket, I do hope that you at least sell 30% of your BTCs because either way, you have profited already. The only goal right now is to lower your risks as much as possible and get the maximum yield.

All in into bitcoin is nice but i hope you patience enough to wait untill the price of bitcoin reach the new all time high. Throw all of your investment in one basket i think it's a smart move, but i hope you know the risk and already do the research about this, so if your investment is not what you expected, you don't need to stress and find someone to blame because of your decision.
but if we dump all assets only on bitcoin, I think it's a good decision, where we see this step can minimize risk and we can sleep well every day until we wait for the bullrun to come. we know when invested in other coins, while bitcoin seems to be in control of the development of all existing coins. So if bitcoin collapses, other coins will suffer the same fate

This is not necessarily true.

There were times that the price of BTC dropped but other prices of altcoins increased. It all depends upon the market to be honest as there is no absolute indicator.
3212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Can We Expect Gambling on Axie Infinity? on: July 22, 2021, 11:14:59 AM
...

Will this be the path that might lead to Gambling?
if they give such notification then I'm sure axie will add the feature...

axie infinity is on the rise and has had a tremendous increase in members in just the last 2 months, Adding another feature is their obligation. even though I don't play Axie but I'm sure it will lead to gambling and that's good IMO.

Hi, can someone please explain to me the whole Axie Infinity thing?

My friends told me that they actually earn real money by playing games. They mentioned that depending on the price of BTCs, they usually earn $10/day and the idea behind playing while earning is novel to me. I tried watching some videos on YouTube but it still baffles me on how the game actually works and on how the development team earns during the process.
3213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hey newcomer's if you have a IMGUR then you can upload an Image on: July 22, 2021, 07:21:35 AM
Like what I previously mentioned to other similar topics such as this one, I highly recommend using postimages.org in posting photos as it offers resizing options already. Although you can manually adjust it here on the forum, the convenience that it brings is unparalleled.

just to make things clear. newbies cannot post an image to their post but they can post the link. if they want to bypass that restriction they can buy a copper membership. look here for more information
I actually laughed when i saw this comment. a mean, OP really felt he or she was getting somewherre abd then the first comment yiu get is spottibg out errors. Well, i suppose us8ng the world beginners would have grouped those for whom the ibformqrion is meant and mkre usefull. Anyway, youve got tp give it to the OP to have actually come up with the idea of using pictorial representatuon to demostrate the whole process.

I think it is better if you actually encourage OP instead of laughing him off. We were all newbies at some point and we all made mistakes that truly defined our characters. But then again, OP you should have checked and utilized the search tool bar to prevent creating spams.

3214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL- Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: July 21, 2021, 04:01:15 PM
Agreed ralle14 & ryzaadit.
After watching valorant for a while noticed it's gameplay is nice to watch but cs go just has more focus on certain aspects which the other doesn't.
Valorant is just a substitute for Overwatch, with the latter being much better in my opinion because it employs a more different kind of play compared to Valorant where they tried to make an FPS that has power involved as if R6 Siege haven't done it already.

As someone who played CSGO for around 1550 hours, I would say that Valorant has some interesting aspects that sparked the interests of most players.

Counter Strike has been around for years. It has also been tagged as the King of FPS since its popularity is widespread throughout the years. Many FPS have attempted to re-create the same atmosphere that CS offered but they somehow failed to manage to encapsulate the audience with it. Now comes Valorant with the same fundamentals and skill but Riot introduced 'Agents' in which the latter offered respective unique abilities.

At the end of the day, my heart will always be at CSGO but the mechanics introduced by Valorant makes me want to play it more.
3215  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Expose] Prestige-capitals.com Ponzi Project on: July 21, 2021, 12:32:02 PM
The audacity of these scammers to create fake licenses to make it appear that they are holding a genuine project. I really cannot fathom on how these people are able to swallow their guilt of deceiving investors to their project.

Even if this ponzi-scheme is not listed in the forum, it is essential that you report these projects since the traffic coming from unregistered users in the forum is relatively high. They can also use the search function in order to double-check if a project is tagged as a scam here or not.

Keep up the good work, Leviathan.
3216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling attracted to emotion or luck on: July 21, 2021, 11:46:02 AM
Well, gambling is tied primarily to luck. But our emotions tend to cloud our judgement especially when the person gambling has substantially lost a significant amount of money in the process.

Gambling is all about discipline and self-control. Without such traits, the gambler is under potential danger of experiencing extreme pressure and indecisiveness in his decision whether to continue gambling or not.

I have this theory called the 'gambler's cycle' where a gambler, regardless of his wins/losses, will continue to gamble. If he wins, he has this tendency of thinking that he would win again and if he losses, he also thinks that he would recover his losses by betting again.
3217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you worry about not being able to convert BTC to fiat in future on: July 19, 2021, 04:00:28 PM
I'm currently receiving some of my income in BTC, and I'm just holding it because I expect it will go up long term and so it is my savings.
But sometimes I'd like to be able to turn it into fiat for daily expenses. I can't yet pay my rent or buy my groceries with BTC (hopefully one day! but not today and not in the near future).
With banks in some countries blocking transactions from known exchanges is there a worry that one day it will become impractical to turn the BTC into fiat? Either just very hard to do, maybe street-corner-deals or at risk of getting your bank accounts frozen?
Do people think about this and have plans to work around these kinds of banking barriers? Or are there ways around it already but I'm not aware?

I find it very interesting that you receive your income in the form of BTC. Do you have an independent business or are you working in a company that allows payments for salaries as BTC?

Regardless, the price of BTCs will always depend upon the amount of people willing to purchase it at a given price. That is why, I do not see it happening from the near future that BTCs will not be able to be converted to fiat as people would always find ways of purchasing it for investment.
3218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: July 19, 2021, 03:30:09 PM
What a shocking start it was! Just as I expected, the race started with a high competition between Verstappen and Hamilton for the 1st place. Verstappen defended him really well until a point. But they had a huge crash and Verstappen was through the barriers unfortunately. Hamilton got a 10 sec penalty for that but I still think that it was Verstappen's fault. Verstappen just pushed his luck too much there.

Now, Leclerc is still leading the race. He has a decent gap with Hamilton (2 sec). The pit strategies will be really important. If Ferrari does a strong pit stop with Leclerc, I think that Leclerc has a really big chance to even win the race.

I am really happy to see a Ferrari back in the podium once again! They've been struggling last season but I think they're making a huge comeback this year.

With regard to Verstappen's crash, I think it's partly Hamilton's fault for not giving enough room on the right side of the corner. Even with the slightest contact, Max flew like a stick and crashed into the barrier. When you're driving around 300 kph on corners, it is to be expected that you have to give some room especially if you are the one overtaking.
3219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daytrading vs Holding on: July 19, 2021, 03:21:06 PM
I've tried both, but for me daytrading is to nerve wrecking.

Depends upon the experience though but I do agree with you.

I remember I tried daytrading and risked about $100 worth of BTCs and I lost like $20 in the process. I mean, the sky's the limit in terms of potential income. But the risk attached to it is really not worth it in my case especially that I was just a beginner.

HODLING, on the other hand, presented me with huge success so far. I started HODLing some of my BTCs back in 2017 and its price just skyrocketed on its own. Unfortunately, I sold most of my BTCs before it reached the $20,000 mark but it still presented me with some profit at the end.
3220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You got a pifzer ? Then you can be eligible for lottery in Poland. on: July 19, 2021, 12:45:30 PM
I think the lottery is just there to motivate people to get the vaccine and probably make it something that most people will talk about and spread the word out so that they come in numbers.

Great initiative from the polish government if you ask me because it's very difficult to convince people to get the covid vaccination in any part of the world because of the many rumors that are being spread about the covax.

I don't have any issue with such initiatives. The US state of Ohio recently had such a lottery system and it was wildly successful. But along with these initiatives, they should also try to prosecute those individuals who spread unsubstantiated rumors about the vaccine. My friends in India claim that they have received dozens of WhatsApp messages, claiming that the vaccine would make people impotent. It is important to arrest such people who indirectly cause tens of thousands of deaths. Lotteries alone will not solve the issue of vaccine hesitancy.

I mean, what do these people get from deceiving the public about the reality of vaccines? It is really hard to comprehend on why anti-vaxxers spread such unsubstantiated rumors given the fact that Science has already proved the efficacy and success rates of vaccines.

Personally and not to offend anyone, I realized that most people who get persuaded easily are also the ones who lack proper education. I am not saying that they are stupid perse, but they are deeply misinformed and easily influenced.
