2221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: March 31, 2022, 02:10:41 PM
Well from the question itself, I can obviously say no since I have yet to have some children but most of my family members are aware of what I am doing.

When I first entered this forum last 2017 and participated into campaign signatures, that gave me this sense of responsibility of sharing this method to my peers. Since living in a third-world country is definitely financial challenging, any form of alternative income generated through the means of convenience is welcome, especially that the current wage is here below $15/day.

Now that my friends and family members are aware, it is up to them if they want to pursue this kind of opportunity. I can only go as far as telling and explaining to them what cryptocurrencies are, but it is still their decision whether they want to further pursue it or not.
2222  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be too greed for more gains.... on: March 30, 2022, 11:59:02 PM
I want to share my experience as a newbie in crypto....I started my crypto journey in 2021, and that year is very bullish as a starter which I could gain almost $6,000 or more if only I wasn't to greed for believing it will go more higher... those  gains are almost from NFTs (games and airdropped), I didn't take profit even it reached ATH until it fall to the hell lol Grin and some are turning to rugged tokens Sad. Im too late to asked for advice here in forum ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5388154.0 ) and now its too late that I took my profit which is less than half lol.... my advice to newbies in crypto here is always take profit don't regret if it goes up, don't be too greed. stay connected here in forum for advices. Smiley

Experience is definitely the best teacher. No matter how much we advocate HODLing, until we are in that kind of situation, we will never personally feel the need and to learn from our mistakes if we did not stumble during your journey.

What happened to you OP was very unfortunate but that will serve as your backbone and foundation in investing again. Greediness can absolutely destroy your investments especially if you cashed out in a different time. While being greedy is not wrong perse, it is still better to create at least a contingency plan on how much price you are willing to stoop down before you cash them out or sell next time.
2223  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Gambling Review Site on: March 30, 2022, 11:52:58 PM

How is Stake ranked below Fortunejack? Why is 1xBit in the Top 5?

Fortunejack isn’t bad either. Stake is great. I myself is playing there but Fortunejack has built some good reputation as well. Maybe there criteria fits best for Fortunejack LOL but hell, how come 1xbit?
This proves that he is biased and that's because they are trying to monetize the site. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be. That's where GamblingBro is much different.
Some reviewer just set up their review site just to make money from their affiliate links and don't care about giving the right review they will rank high those casinos that can and will give them a good affiliate earning we should not support or even read their reviews because it's thrash BTCGOSU and Gamblingbro are still the best casino reviewers and these newbie reviewers will have a hard time establishing their reputation here if they only think of money.
That is basically the way it is, as long as they get their commission they could care less about how reliable and trusted the casino really is, honestly I doubt that a great deal of those review sites actually gambled in the casino in question and they just made up the whole review.

With this in mind then it is important to avoid those kind of review sites and instead rely on websites in which you can find the opinions of people which use the services in which you happen to be interested, and this forum is a perfect example of a site that fulfills those conditions.

Unfortunately, you are definitely right.

Lots of video reviewers are somehow micromanaged and controlled by the gambling website itself, that is why the review sometimes comes and sounds bias on their perspective. Video reviewers also say what the gambling website managers wants them to say further making the video unrealistic and bias.

If you truly want to have an honest feedback and opinion from the users, then rely on forums such as this one for your information. People here would give their unbiased opinion and they would also recommend more options/information about the website as a whole.
2224  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Worth it pa ba ang mag invest sa crypto? on: March 30, 2022, 11:31:51 PM

It all depends ding kung ano ang investment goal mo at the end of the day. If you are someone aiming to earn that sweet short-term investment, then medyo risky ito kailangan bantayan mo ang mga cryptocurrencies mo para at least mag profit ka on the end.

Who knows a few years from now, baka tumaas nanaman ang price nito at baka mag sisi nanaman akong hindi ako nag invest.
2225  Local / Pilipinas / Re: WORTH IT PA BA? on: March 30, 2022, 09:11:03 PM
TANONG KO LANG PO IF EVER NA BABALIK AKO TO JOIN BOUNTIES WORTH IT PA PO BA?

IF YES MAY TATANGGAP PO BA SAKIN KAHIT NA MAY NEGATIVE TRUST AKO IN ANY BOUNTIES.

SALAMAT PO.

I personally think na hindi masyado worth it mag participate sa bounties given its track record din dito sa forum. I would also recommend participating sa campaign signatures as mas stable and guaranteed ang payments dito compared to bounties. In addition, ang dami nang campaign signatures ang lumalabas nowadays kaya you can take advantage of this situation habang maaga pa.

With regard sa negative trust mo, it is up to the discretion of the campaign manager if they are wiling to include users with negative trust. Though that may be the case, siguro mas mababa ang chances mo kung may negative trust ka kaya depende pa rin talaga sa manager if willing sila kumuha ng members na meron.
2226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chess online? on: March 30, 2022, 08:21:36 PM
As long there would be no involvement of cheats then it would really be giving out  that confidence on having a fair game but we know that cheating does exist on this sport through online which it do really makes hard

As long as there is money involved I don't think cheating will be out of the option since some people will do everything even cheating just to have the wagered money or the pot money. The OP was looking at some gambling site for a p2p chess online which I don't think exist yet.

ya.ya.yo!

Based purely on my personal experience watching online tournaments live, cheating is almost non-existence if the players that consist of such are within the top 20 of the rankings. If those GMs that are within the top 20 participates in a tournament, you can almost guarantee that they will not be using any chess engine during the whole match due to the effects of it on their careers.

I would somehow understand if the players involve are within the range of 1700-2500 but when a tournament consists of players within the top 20, then I guess it is safe to bet on those games. I just hope that there will be websites that will consider chess gambling as it is really an underrated game to be betted on.
2227  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How secured is fingerprint lock on wallet? on: March 30, 2022, 03:14:21 PM
If I use a fingerprint lock on my crypto wallet will this add more security to my wallet and recovery seed or just security over avoiding someone to see my wallet balance via operating my phone?

It does add an extra layer of protection on your part. Think of it as like a 2-factor authenticator; before you can log-in with your account, it asks for more information and authenticator by inputting the code sent to your phone/email.

Like what Rikaflip also mentioned, it is also a matter of convenience on your end where you get to see your BTC wallet balance on your account. The best way of getting protected is still not spilling your private keys in your wallet except to one trusted member of your family to add a layer of contingency in the event that some unfortunate event happens.
2228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency will not save Russia from sanctions on: March 30, 2022, 02:53:10 PM
Considering the numerous restrictions on the Russian Government they are still strict measures on every transaction that is displayed on the Blockchain. Any huge amount of money moved into a wallet will be flagged and checked if it's headed to the Russian Government. And it'll be difficult for Russian Government to convert a huge Bitcoin into Fiat as well. Do you think they can get around the corner and still escape the numerous financial restriction on their country through Bitcoin or altcoin

https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2022/3/1/crypto-will-not-save-russia-from

Like what I previously replied to this post, cryptocurrencies cannot save Russia from its financial turmoil given that Western businesses and products were pulled-out from their country. Though this might be the case, cryptocurrencies can somehow be a band-aid solution giving Russia some sort of circulation and liquidity on their transactions if they were to integrate cryptocurrencies in their projects.

Unfortunately, I do think that Russia will soon see and feel its effects slowly. Their economy may somehow be the downfall of their country if they could not pacify further the restrictions being implemented to their country.
2229  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips and tricks for day trading on: March 29, 2022, 11:42:09 PM
This will not be the behavior of a trade that wants to succeed. It needs passion and a sort of dedication. Pursuing a dream is not easy, time, effort, and we never have to feel tired or else, we only just fail. What I am trying to say is that we have to be strong and positive. We have to neglect/ignore negative things around us as this will be the reason for our failure.

- keep moving forward
- focus on the thing we need to accomplish
- must wear positivity in mind
He only explains what is like to become a day trader. We all want to be successful in trading but if we are starting we can't avoid to experience those things but later on we can adapt to it or we can get used to it. It's not possible to not feel tired because we are only a human.

If ever we got tired, we should take a rest because it is an essential thing and it makes you recharge so that you can do better by the time you get back in trading. For the negativities, we are always surrounded by that but like you said we can just ignore it as that can't contribute anything good in your career. What we need is a positive mind for us to keep going.

Just a quick word, I've read an article before explaining that 97% of beginner day traders lose their money on their first experience and the remaining 3% earn only as much as a bank teller. This fact shows on how much risk is involved in day trading, though it can also be extremely rewarding if you exercise your methods/techniques well.

The essence of day trading focuses on experience. If you are a beginner with little-to-no experience, then I highly recommend trading relatively small amounts of resources in order to get an overview and feel on it.
2230  Economy / Gambling / Re: Proof that Freebitco.in game is not provably fair. on: March 29, 2022, 11:32:55 PM
What's the problem? Though it's definitely in the 'unlucky' side, losing 13 times in a row is definitely a possibility. It's not like the possibility of you winning the gamble goes up after every loss.

Also, with freebitco.in, the possibility of you winning a x2 multiplier is 47.50% not 50%.

not quite, i have had more rounds today, i lost 10 times on another round , but i won 1 times and recovered my lost satoshi, say wathever u say this is not a provably fair game... also a friend played some months ago and he lost 17 times in a round, for y'all if you dont want to risk your satoshi, dont bet on this website.

Freebitcoi.in is a gambling website that has established its reputation in the internet as one of the most trusted and biggest websites. I doubt that they would pull any rugs under the table that could cost them years of reputation building. I would like to remind you OP that you are in a gambling environment- anything could happen as long as the odds permit it to be.

Again let me reiterate, a person could experience as much as winning 17 times in a row or losing 17 times in a row depending on your luck. Consider this as a bad day on your end and move on. If you are truly bothered by such experience, then feel free to contact their customer support in order to inquire on your problem.
2231  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: March 29, 2022, 10:55:36 PM
The simple idea that a campaign running in a corner of the World Wide Web is capable of having such a deep impact in people who live in third world countries is just mind-blowing to me, in a very positive way. We're talking about people that no matter the amount that they receive from the campaign, it ends up meaning a world to them and the amount deeply impact their lives.

Exactly! It is just truly a privilege that I am currently participating in campaign signatures due to their vast impact on my financials. Given that the nature and value of our currency in our country is relatively low compared to the currency of first-world countries, every bit of dollar counts as it can purchase you with loads of things.

But truly, it is just stunning to experience this kind of privilege and blessing at the same time- which I feel like I have the duty to share this method to my friends as it can impact their lives as much as it impacted mine.

Quote
I hope, however, that people who live in these countries do not rely solely on this (and other alike) campaigns - in the event of their closure it could mean that some dark times could also come to some users. Again, never put your eggs in only a single basket!

I agree with you. Again, treating campaigns as a form of your primary income is putting oneself in a situation where the sword of Damocles is constantly hanging. It is too difficult to imagine if a person quits his current job in exchange for something that is not temporary in nature.
2232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you tell your friends about your crypto achievements? on: March 29, 2022, 10:27:59 PM
Do you tell your friends about your crypto earnings and trading strategy?

Sometimes it's hard to keep it to myself, but at the same time, I don't want to share my trading lifehacks.
Do you share with your friends?  Tongue

Definitely! If there is an opportunity to share my earnings and methods of earning BTC, I always share it to my friends and even to strangers whom I just recently talked to!

The reason on why I am always keen on sharing it because of its impact to me in my life. It changed on how I see payments and earning money in an alternative method. The fact that I am experiencing such privilege of earning BTC weekly is just truly a blessing that I am endowed to share to anyone- though if they do follow it, they are bound to know about cryptocurrencies from their experience.

I discovered this forum from my close friend way back in 2017 and I feel like I have this duty of spreading the word to anyone, hoping to change their lives the way it changed mine.
2233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe it is to invest in cryptocurrency on: March 29, 2022, 12:26:22 PM
As I would see it, there should be a largely if not an overall view of the different beliefs and critiques surrounding bitcoin. Not coming into conclusion without proper findings and proof to back up false claims about it.

By answering your question in the spirit of the discussion, I think it is relatively risky to invest in cryptocurrencies if you plan on profiting on your investments. Due to its inflationary nature and value, its price may change every second/minute without any given notice, compared to all the available investment mechanisms present.

But, one thing that cryptocurrencies (BTC, to be specific) is relatively safe is that it can be a good store-of-value due to its significant and high value on the market. Many people have started investing into cryptocurrencies due to their value on the market. I guess that one of the benefits of having crypto is that you can always withdraw and cash them out without anywhere in the world.
2234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia to legalize Crypto Mining Soon on: March 29, 2022, 05:21:59 AM
Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Evgeny Grabchak revealed statement about introducing clear regulations for crypto mining in the country. His statement served as a support for the cryptomarket and the miners within the country, because back in January cryptocurrency mining was banned in Russia.

I suppose people living in Russia will take advantage of this to mine, but I doubt this will attract foreign capital, at least significantly. It is no longer because of the war or Putin, it is because of the perceived insecurity of having gone back and forth on this issue: now I am going to ban it, now I am going to legalize it, tomorrow I will ban it again, and so on.

That said, I hope it will finally be carried out.

I wholly agree with you.

While this may seem like a band-aid solution in order to further enhance their economic situation, their finances is still continuously collapsing due to the pull-outs of all western associated businesses in their country, following the necessary sanctions given. Again, miners in Russia should take advantage of this situation as their government seems to struggle and exhaust all the possible remedies to combat financial shortages on their part.

In the perspective of cryptocurrencies, I hope that this would bring a positive effect in general. By legalizing mining, this may somehow affect the price of BTC in which would be beneficial in the long run.
2235  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You don't need to hodl a particular coin all your life on: March 27, 2022, 11:59:37 PM
How long have you been hodling a particular coin while the coin has been making progress for your profit taking and yet dropping in your eyes ?

Some people don't understand the hodling technique, they are hodling a particular coin and never sell to rebuy again or to sell and buy another coin. You can sell this coin and buy that other coin that is how to turn over your money.

I didn't tell you to sell your bitcoin and not to buy again. I only say you sell the bull and buy the bear  Grin

I mean, this entirely depends on your goal as an investor. There are people who HODL coins not for the purpose of earning a quick profit, but there are also some investors waiting for that perfect moment to cash-out their coins.

For example, people who focus more on the short-term aspect of investment may cash out their coins once the purchase price is higher than the acquired price they bought their coins. While this may be the case, others prefer to HODL their coins and cash out for maximum value- I guess minimum of 5-10 years of HODLing?
2236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender bias in gambling. on: March 27, 2022, 11:41:09 PM
There seems to be a bias in the opinions of people regarding gender and gambling. Most persons in my locale consider gambling as something more appropriate for males than females, who made that a law?

Will it be possible if you could share which country you are staying? That is very unfortunate to hear that such bias still exists in the 20th century given that lots of women fought for their rights and equality on their respective countries.

Quote
-In my locale, a man who is considered a compulsive gambler may be overlooked if he is doing well regardless, but a for a woman, regardless of her financial state, will be perceived and considered highly irresponsible if she is found in a betting or gambling place.

This is just straight up sexist. Again, in the 20th century, the society has recognized and understood that women and men are definitely equal. In fact, almost all of the jobs that were once viewed that only males can do, also females now can do. Even in gambling, in fact, there was a thread before stating that women can handle their emotions well on gambling.

Quote
Why the bias? should gambling be only for Men?

Gambling should be available for everyone irrespective of one's gender. The fact that there are countries that has an unequal view between men and women is just really unfortunate. I hope they recognize that such bias cannot exist as there is practically no difference between the two genders.

2237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Long Term Holders - When Do You Plan To Cash Out? on: March 27, 2022, 08:57:55 PM
One of the things I regret the most was not holding the Bitcoin I had acquired a few years ago, I didn't really need those funds but had cashed out a large chunk of them. Luckily, some of which was saved till now and was invested in DeFi projects and managed to earn a decent sum of money.

After this experience, I'm trying to save as much Bitcoin as possible. I'm not sure when I'll withdraw again, certainly not before surpassing the last all-time high. Currently, I'm not need of funds, thus, I'll keep on holding.

I feel you and this experience also costed me an opportunity of not taking advantage of BTC's volatility and inflation.

Back in 2017, I was privileged enough to participate into various campaign signatures where I earned a handful amounts of BTC during my stay. Since the price of BTC was relatively low (around $5,000-$6,000), the denomination and pay of each campaign signatures where high. Due to financial difficulties, I had to cash out my BTCs weekly in order to provide for my education and materials since I was a college student at that time.

Fast forward to today's year, if I did not cash out my BTCs from all the campaign signatures I have participated, I would have saved at least $30,000+ which could have granted me an opportunity to purchase a car for my dad. That is why, this expensive lesson taught me something- to at least cash out my BTCs if I direly need them. I could have worked my ass-off by doing part-time jobs but I chose the easy way out.
2238  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Worth it pa ba ang mag invest sa crypto? on: March 27, 2022, 08:19:01 PM
Parang napapadalas na kasi ang pagbaba ng mga tokens

I agree with the points that @mk4 mentioned above- may idea ka na ba kung anong cryptocurrency/ies yung pag iinvestan mo ba? If you answered all of his points, then doon ka makakagawa ng decision kung paano ka mag-iinvest.

Just to tell you my experience, nag start ako dito sa forum na to last 2017 where 1 BTC = ~p230,000. Akala ko nun una hindi na tataas presyo nito but here we are, 5 years from now, nasa mahigit ~p2.2m pesos na ang price niya. That is like 1000% ng increase ng price ng BTC over the course of 5 years kaya if you plan na mag invest dito, better start now and HODL it for long-term.

2239  Economy / Economics / Re: online skills in the face of war on: March 27, 2022, 08:04:37 PM
If we try to analyze this critically we might say this insufficiency in pay checks is one of the factors that is triggering greed, selfish and money conscious services around organizations. I was thinking If many get an side paying job with digital skill that can help handle bills it might be a gateway to reducing the self centered services we receive

Are you thinking what i am thinking or you have a different view

That is where the opportunity of working online comes into practice in situations like these. With the face of war affecting countries globally, it is but paramount for people to exhaust all of the possible ways in order to earn money, which includes working online with convenience. I guess that this forum has the best repository of such skill since people may demand some "digital skill", like you mentioned, under our services board.

As someone living in a third-world country, the opportunity of participating into campaign signatures is nothing but a blessing for me and my family. The fact that I have some emergency funds while paying for my own education is truly a blessing that I will never be thankful enough despite the face of war.
2240  Economy / Economics / Re: Thailand ban using crypto for payments on: March 27, 2022, 03:08:07 PM
The prohibition is due to the concern of the regulatory body for money laundering and the inability to respond to this fact.

Crypto users in Thailand will still be able to use exchanges and P2P.

It is a shame because with the model of Thailand because it is one of the countries with the most experience in crypto, it can provide a path to follow for other nations to adopt bitcoin.

Money laundering around crypto will be present, there will be much to learn and how to act to avoid the dark side of money.

This is interesting- so the threat came from the idea that users might be involved in money laundering by using crypto payments? I think the possible remedy for this is to regulate their local exchanges with more KYC documents, if they have any. Though the problem lies on the fact that if people were to transact using globally/universally accepted exchanges, then it would be difficult for their government to track down their payments.

This is one of the negative effects of transacting cryptocurrencies but I do personally think that its positive effects outweigh such negative effects. The opportunity of integrating BTC into your financial method can have a positive impact in payments, in general.
