541  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 1oz .9999 Silver NastyMining Wallets (Colorized, Gold Highlighted) on: March 20, 2024, 06:16:31 PM
Just a reminder that these are still for sale. The only colorized coins I ever made combined with being .9999 silver makes them extremely unique. Sure, having someone else create your private keys is never a great idea, which is why these are unfunded and never have to be loaded. More of a collector’s item, but completely functional if needed.
542  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bothered about every DIP? It's just a mental check. on: March 20, 2024, 06:04:45 PM
If you find yourself being emotional over the dips than that means you own too much BTC and should sell some.  Sure, that's not the smart move and it lets your emotions get the best of you costing you future profits, but it will give you a peace of mind.  If Bitcoin dips and you don't care, congratulations, you own a healthy amount of Bitcoin for your risk tolerance.  Nobody should be risking a heart attack over every dip betting with their life savings.  Just stack sats and chill.  Don't get caught up in betting the farm on every move.  Eventually that won't work out for you.
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you invest in BTC or MicroStrategy MSTR? on: March 20, 2024, 06:02:56 PM
I think for the correct answer to this question you have to look no further than the CEO of MicroStrategy.  Michael Saylor himself is dumping shares of MSTR as fast as he can personally and using his company to buy as much BTC as possible.  If the guy running the company is selling MSTR and buying BTC, why on earth would you think it's a good idea to dump BTC to buy MSTR.  You'd literally be going against the guy that you think is such a genius.  My advice, sell your MSTR and buy BTC.  I don't think Saylor is going to be able to keep doing debt offerings to stack BTC forever.  At some point it will sting him, but probably not until 2026.
544  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2024, 05:47:48 PM
Are you a Bitcoiner and having problems?

I don't know.  It seems like the market is starting to turn on Saylor now that it's been shown he's cashing out hand over fist using MSTR as a vehicle to get a massive premium on his purchased BTC.  I think if he doesn't come out and say that he's also buying BTC personally with all the USD he's cashing out daily from MSTR it might only be a matter of time before the Bitcoin community looks to tar and feather him.  You got to give it to him though.  His scheme of buying up the price of BTC and then selling off shares of MSTR at a huge premium is one of the bigger brained investment moves I've ever seen.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 20, 2024, 05:44:29 PM
The odds payout offered by the bookmakers on Philadelphia 76ers to win the away match against Phoenix Suns is @4.30, I am kind of surprised to see the odds payout for Philadelphia 76ers to be so high as both of these teams are almost quite close to each other performance with their overall win loss rate results this season. Phoenix Suns have lost 3 out of their 4 recent home matches played and I think Philadelphia 76ers might have a slight chance to beat Phoenix Suns away from home.

I think that is because Embiid is still out with an injury right?  He's missed a ton of games now and his team hasn't been doing all that great in his absence, so I will admit I also bet against the 76ers vs the Suns tonight.  Not to mention that we are scheduled to get our first look at Isaiah Thomas in a Suns uniform tonight and I don't think they're going to want to let his debut get spoiled by a loss against a team without their star player.  I'm looking forward to seeing what Isaiah can do now that he's being given another chance in the NBA and hope he does well.  He was doing great in the G league.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 20, 2024, 05:42:27 PM
I haven't seen anything about Jake Paul cancelling the fight.  Quite the opposite.  It seems like they're both promoting the fight and Jake's last post on the subject was him confirming that he does still want a piece of Mike Tyson.  On the other hand, there has been some talk about Mike having some serious health problems going into this fight.  His trainer has gone on a PR campaign downplaying Tyson's issues, but it seems to me like where there's smoke there's fire and Tyson is probably taking this fight because he needs/wants the payday for his family.  He is risking his health by doing so.  I hope he ends it fast...
Yes, we have not seen anything, and if this is cancelled then it might be the worst decision for Jake Paul. Everything has been set already, his company together with Netflix and Mike Tyson seemingly motivated and training hard base on videos we have seen. Most likely Tyson will get the money that he is getting during his prime, millions in dollars and good for his retirement and for his family and that's why he accepted this fight. And I think he is given a clean bill of health by doctors as well that's why the fight is going to happen even if he is already 58 years old in this fight.
Fake news doesn't destroy this upcoming match. If that is true it would be easy for Jake Paul to make a tweet or announce it in his youtube channel the reason why the fight is cancelled. But now it's silent, that means it's still gonna happen and maybe these two boxers have started training already even if the fight is still far.

July 20, that's 4 months from now. A lot of things could happen and more hype to be made, so it's a good ample time for them to focus on their marketing to make more people interested to it, and the fact that it's Netflix are gonna cover, they should have not problem with the viewers as they could easily get millions of eyes willing to watch this.

There's just too much money involved for this fight to be called off.  I'm sure Tyson would do anything for the payday he's about to get.  I'm thinking maybe as much as $100,000,000, but that's just a guess.  Netflix is certainly not scared to pay top dollar for good content, and this will probably be Mike Tyson's last fight.  What I really want to know though, is who are we betting on?  I haven't seen the odds yet, so that might make a difference, but I really want Tyson to win and might have to put some money behind him just to try and support the cause from my couch.
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 20, 2024, 05:40:32 PM
This latest news with Bruno Mars is pretty crazy.  I wouldn't put him in the same category as Drake because Drake can afford to lose millions and it isn't a big deal.  Casino's letting Bruno Mars get himself into the hole $50,000,000 shouldn't be allowed though.  He's going to end up performing in Vegas for the rest of his life to try and work off that debt.  If I were his accountant, I'd have him looking into ways to move assets around and file for bankruptcy.  A $50,000,000 gambling debt is insane.  I really hope he finds some help or has an amazing comeback run.  This is a bad situation.
548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 20, 2024, 05:37:33 PM
A ton of mismatches today so there wasn't really much to do but bet the favorites.  I left out a couple of games that I thought could possibly go either way but for the most part these games should all go the way we think they will.  It would be a pretty big upset if one of these games was a loser, but with this many games in a parlay it's always a risk.  Good luck!

549  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Do you eat tacos on Taco Tuesday? on: March 20, 2024, 05:18:27 PM
...

It does not look bad at all, Mr Nasty.
Actually, I like how somehow the plate where you served those tacos seem to match some Mexican style I have seen before somewhere.
Anyways, if you don't mind, it would be good if you shared your personal recipe of your tacos together with a list of ingredients. I have considered to buy some Cholula Mexican sauce lately (I have read it is a very good sauce), and it would be good to try it with some tacos.
I am yet to try my first tacos.
What kind of hot sauce do you apply on your tacos generally? Homemade or do you prefer to use some brand like Tabasco? Tabaco is okey , In my opinion, but it lacks of flavor. It is more about hotness than adding more flavors to the meal. Those brand hot sauces are imported here so they are not cheap. Any recommendation from you about hot sauces is welcome.  Tongue

Thanks. My recipe for these tacos was pretty basic. Just ground beef, hard taco shells, cheddar cheese, sour cream, lettuce, carrots, cabbage, hot sauce (which I forgot), and taco seasoning. The taco seasoning was Old El Paso which I added to the beef while cooking and then when I’m done putting it all together I usually add tapatio hot sauce, or if I’m feeling crazy Hot Ones The Last Dab hot sauce.

The plate is southwest themed and part of a hand made set of plates and other dishes. I got them at a second hand shop for a great deal. They didn’t know what they had.

I've been looking at some of your pieces, all great and very beautiful too, what's your manufacturing process like?

Thank you for the kind words. My process probably isn’t as cool as yours and I’m sure the machine is not as expensive, but it does the job pretty well. Just some good old fashioned metal on metal engraving. I have a clip I uploaded to X (twitter) of the process that I’ll link below. Feel free to hit that follow button. LOL

551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 20, 2024, 05:06:31 PM
I watched LeBron James and JJ Redick’s new podcast yesterday. It definitely shows off LeBron’s basketball IQ but I’m not sure how other NBA players will feel about LeBron calling out their ability to run plays and flip them without needing a coach to draw it out. Seemed almost like he was stroking his ego a bit. We’ll see how episode 2 goes…
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden resurrects 30% crypto mining tax in new budget proposal on: March 20, 2024, 06:13:37 AM
His capital gains tax increases are pretty crazy as well. This is definitely something to keep an eye on. A lot of Bitcoin holders could be wise to sell in December if he is really going to more than double the capital gains tax. I don’t think he will and even if he did I think Trump will get in and reverse all Biden’s craziness. Still something to watch.
553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fed rate adjustment on March 19/20 2024 what will happen? on: March 20, 2024, 04:37:56 AM
I think the price went lower because we just had a massive runup with lots of buying from the ETFs and we aren’t seeing the same inflows continue. I doubt it has anything to do with fed rates decisions. That being said, they want to lower but obviously can’t with inflation starting to tick up again. They should raise and try to pop the AI bubble, but they won’t do that either because we’re already seeing cracks forming in housing and private debt. So I think they’ll do nothing but issue a statement saying they’re keeping an eye on inflation.
554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Do you eat tacos on Taco Tuesday? on: March 20, 2024, 03:38:21 AM
I switched it up this week and made my own tacos at home. Sure they might look like a crazy person made them, I forgot the hot sauce, and I won’t win any awards for tossing lettuce everywhere (but it was a nice blend of lettuce carrots and cabbage) or smashing sour cream on top, but all that and the terrible picture aside, these 4 ground beef tacos were really good.

555  Economy / Speculation / Re: VanEck thinks Ether ETF would be even bigger than Bitcoin ETF on: March 19, 2024, 09:02:12 PM
I think having a lower market cap obviously lends itself to being more effected by the ETF market.  So it's probably true that Ethereum will see larger price increase on a % basis than Bitcoin did.  However, Bitcoin somewhat benefits from ETFs, as it removes currency in circulation and makes it more of a store of value.  That lowers actual usage which keeps the blockchain from getting clogged up.  Ethereum benefits by a lot of usage, as that reduces the total number of Ethereum in supply.  I'm not sure taking it one step closer to being a store of value is a good thing, but it is for those pumping money into it and wanting to see higher prices.  Actual users will probably find the network unusable at some point after the ETF approval, which I guess will queue up the Solana network for a run at an ETF.

Imgur apparently nuked all the  past pics on Bitcointalk.

That's true but you can use a plug-in to automatically move all your old images to the new talkimg site.  I don't have the link on me but you can search the meta section for it or ask someone in the talkimg thread and I'm sure they'll steer you in the right direction.  I'm not sure why the forum doesn't do this automatically for everyone, but at least there's a workaround for those who want to make the effort to clean up their old images.
557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Contest: Predict the exact possible bitcoin price for 22-3-24 and win merits on: March 19, 2024, 08:54:52 PM
I'm with the others in total confusion about the date.  It seems like that's some weird made up format and not something I recognize, but I am American so who knows...  Maybe some sort of countdown or mention how many hours until the end date/time would be helpful and appreciated.

Now that all that has been said.  I'm going to go with a prediction of $63,269.

I also don't think this is the appropriate section for this thread.  Seems more like it belongs in the games section.
558  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius coins - opinions on future view. on: March 19, 2024, 08:49:38 PM
Safety would be a concern, but that could be managed for sure.

Gotta join the cause to bulk up the muscles alongside the wallet.dat.  Smiley

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5484350.0

I don't think safety would be that big of a concern really.  Nobody would know that you have the coin except the buyer and seller, who each have a reason to want things to go smoothly.  Not to mention if it were done in airports then security would be provided for free by Uncle Sam.  You'd just have to make sure not to do something stupid and lose the coin while you're on the airplane.  Perhaps avoid in flight naptime.

Things are starting to look bad...  I'm seeing people on Twitter saying that Coinbase isn't crediting their deposits of not only Bitcoin, but altcoins as well.  No news articles yet so take that with a grain of salt.  Seems like the cracks are definitely forming though.  Not processing deposits is sort of the other side of going offline when the price is shooting up.  Looking like more downside in the immediate term.  Shorts are no doubt building up on the ETFs.  They will be the fuel for the rocket to the moon once we're done defending the building of short positions, profit taking, and panic selling.  What price level that will be is anyone's guess.
