641  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it easy to trust someone? on: October 15, 2023, 01:07:30 PM
Trusting someone with money & sensitive info is not easy. It depends on so many factors such as past experiences, personal judgment& the level of trust between people. Some people find it easy to trust others with money based on their reputation or relationship, others might be more cautious. It's important to assess the person's reliability, financial responsibility & track record before making a decision. Open communication, transparency & establishing clear expectations can help build trust in financial matters.
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can CEX, institutional investors, whales, hinder or halt the growth of Bitcoin? on: October 13, 2023, 01:30:27 PM
I take it as a bullshit because the only way to control Bitcoin price is you need to own all Bitcoins, while FTX isn't own all Bitcoins.

Actually I don't understand why centralized exchange need to make the Bitcoin price below $20K, what's the point? they're making money from people who keep use their exchanges, so regardless what the Bitcoin price, they're still make profit.

I dunno, the last bull run was definitely suppressed, we got two rounded tops of 65k & 69k, no parabolic blow off top like previous times. I guess COVID & China ban (again) could have played a part but FTX were selling customer bitcoin so if you think about it they were selling the same bitcoin’s over & over again to prop up FTT coin & apparently LUNA also. Effectively people were holding ‘paper bitcoin’ or just seeing a data entry as their bitcoin balance on the exchange. They were artificially inflating the 21,000,000 cap by selling coins they didn’t own themselves.
643  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which does good leadership depends more on? Age, experience or education? on: October 13, 2023, 01:16:13 PM
Good leadership relies on a combination of age, experience & education. Age brings wisdom & a broader perspective allowing leaders to make more informed decisions. Experience provides practical knowledge & the ability to handle various challenges. Education equips leaders with the necessary skills & theoretical understanding to navigate complex situations. Leadership is not only determined by any one factor but by a combination of these elements along with qualities like empathy, adaptability, communication& the ability to inspire & motivate others.
644  Economy / Economics / Re: Not your keys > Evergrande collapse triggers bank run in China on: October 13, 2023, 12:57:19 PM
I have mixed feelings about potential large scale bank runs. If it’s going to happen I would prefer it sooner rather than later. The last thing we need is a COVID style Black Swan at a pinnacle time, for example when the halving is very close or during peak bull run in 2025. If the dominoes will fall then please ASAP so we can recover in time for an epic bull run.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how many halvings have you witnessed? on: October 13, 2023, 12:53:15 PM
2024 will be my third & I expect it to be better than the last one which I believe was suppressed, interrupted, kept down or whatever by various things. FTX were selling customer bitcoin to suppress the price, COVID played a role & also China banning bitcoin right in the middle of the bull really screwed us. I think we missed the crazy, parabolic top but we will get it this time.
646  Economy / Economics / Re: Not your keys > Evergrande collapse triggers bank run in China on: October 13, 2023, 12:18:14 PM
CNN reporting it was a localised bank run so not widespread & nothing to worry about yet.

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/10/12/economy/china-bank-run-evergrande-intl-hnk/index.html

Clearly the fiat banking system is failing & it’s only a matter of time until it collapses. This is why we bitcoin, obviously self custody is the only way to go.
647  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Government job or private job? on: October 12, 2023, 10:04:27 PM
Government jobs provide more stability, job security& benefits. Private jobs tend to offer more flexibility, higher potential for growth & innovation also potentially higher salaries. The choice depends on individual preferences, career goals & your personal circumstances. It's important to consider factors such as work life balance, job satisfaction, career advancement opportunities&personal values when deciding between the two.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig "Faketoshi" Wright saga continues. His team turns against him. on: October 10, 2023, 03:37:22 PM
There are still people who blindly believe his nonsense, that he is Satoshi. I see BSV maxis on Twitter who believe him, so weird. Maybe they don’t but it suits the narrative to protect their shitcoin value. He is losing court cases regularly now, it won’t be long before he is a mere blip on the radar of bitcoins illustrious history & soon future. There have been many fraudsters & snake oil salesmen since bitcoin was created, there aren’t many more conniving & devious, maybe even desperate as Craig Wright. He’s irrelevant but soon will just be a distajt bar memory.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: October 10, 2023, 03:18:06 PM
As ridiculous as it may sound, the truth is that I want to fulfill a dream of building a house with Bitcoin.
My parents took care of me from childhood and they taught me education and they are still trying to teach me education. Father is very old and it is not possible for him to work as he used to, so I myself feel that I should do something. At the moment, if I could somehow earn to help my family or pay for my education, then maybe the pressure on my father would be reduced a lot. I joined Bitcoin to fulfill my dream.

My mother has a dream to build a house, maybe in the future I will have to help her fulfill her dream because my father is spending the money he earns on my education and running the family so at the moment he cannot afford to build a house. I have already gained enough knowledge about trading by being involved with Bitcoin, firstly I want to start my Bitcoin journey through trading, after making some money from trading I plan to invest in Bitcoin for four years. These four years I will hold my investment and also save the money earned from trading or signature campaign for four years so that after four years I can start building the house.

You must pray for me so that I can fulfill my mother's dream.

Building a house with bitcoin & fulfilling your Mothers dream is definitely not ridiculous. If you can provide something like this for them after they made so many sacrifices to help bring you up then it is certainly not ridiculous, it’s close to heroic. If you can do that for them & yourself, you are close to putting on a cape with a bg S on the back. Just make sure you provide for yourself & any future family that you may have. Help them but ensure you are able to make a dream life for yourself too.
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling vs trading on: October 10, 2023, 03:10:41 PM
Always best to hodl because bitcoin is still very volatile & you can easily get liquidated trying to trade & time the market. Nobody who has managed to hodl for two full four year cycles has ever lost money. It’s boring & most people don’t have the staying power, patience required but seriously hodling long term is the way to go, it never fails. Trading is gambling & many times you are not a lucky winner.
651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In Case of Global Conflict, Is BTC The Best Alternative? on: October 10, 2023, 02:39:02 PM
In the case of global conflict bitcoin can 100% be considered as a potential alternative. Its decentralised nature & cryptographic security make it resistant to censorship & control by any single government or authority. Bitcoin operates on a global scale allowing for seamless cross border transactions & potentially serving as a store of value in times of economic uncertainty. The 21,000,000 hard cap is one of its best features. Bitcoin can be volatile though & its acceptance as a widely recognised alternative may vary depending on the circumstances & global sentiment. It’s always wise to diversify investments & consider other assets as well.
652  Other / Off-topic / Re: Learn to be safe and secured online on: October 10, 2023, 11:56:46 AM
Ensure your devices have up to date antivirus software & operating systems. Use strong and unique passwords for each online account. Always be cautious of suspicious emails, messages or requests for personal information & never click on unfamiliar links or download files from untrusted sources. Obviously back up your important data and enable two factor authentication whenever possible. Be mindful of the info you share online & adjust privacy settings to limit access to your personal data.
653  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your view on abortion? on: October 10, 2023, 10:37:22 AM
I think it should be the choice of the Mother, the person carrying the child. I don’t like abortion but there are situations where it is justifiable. There should be a limit on the gestation age of the unborn child though. You should not be able to abort a child that is over 20 weeks gestation. I think a child is a viable birth at 24 weeks so anything over 20 weeks is inhumane.
654  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't Stand With Either Palestine Or Israel on: October 10, 2023, 10:25:20 AM
The offensive attacks between Israel and Hamas should be discouraged in all ramifications. Don't attack Palestinians in your country, don't attack Israelis in your country. Don't stand with either Israel or Palestine, but stand for PEACE.
I STAND FOR PEACE.

I totally agree with everything you’ve said. Unfortunately this is the main topic of conversation in the developed world at the moment. Something needs to be done to broker peace ASAP. Too many innocent people are losing their lives on both sides. Leaders need to sit down & stop this ASAP.
655  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gaza Strip People - 2 Millions - No Food, Water, Electricity - Complete Blockade on: October 10, 2023, 10:22:44 AM
My heart only goes to the innocent citizens who know nothing about this invasion but a now suffering the consequences.

That’s the thing, there are no winners in war. All we see is bloodshed, pain & misery. I’m sure there are people on both sides who feel there is justification for war but it’s never the answer. I hope there is a peaceful resolution soon & casualties are limited. As I said in another thread, images & stories coming out of Israel are very unpleasant. RIP to those who have lost their lives already.
656  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Israeli - Palestinian conflict worsen the crisis? on: October 10, 2023, 10:14:14 AM
What I’ve seen so far is horrific, so many lives lost on both sides. It’s really horrible that this is happening, I just hope a resolution can be found quickly & peace can be brokered. It was on the news this morning that even in London, there has been attacks on Jewish businesses, with anti-sematic murmurings. I just hope this isn’t all false flag narratives to profit from war.
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin journey has started again on: October 07, 2023, 02:04:07 PM
Good luck to you OP. I have full respect for every single person who decides to change their lives for the better by buying bitcoin. No matter how big or small, every cent taken out of the breaking fiat system & invested into bitcoin is good. Just keep buying bitcoin regularly, you can’t go wrong.
658  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We Don't Really Know What's Happening on: October 07, 2023, 12:48:48 PM
We’re just normal, regular people. We’e never going to be in the know & kept up to date with real world event decisions & policies. Governments, the powers that be will always make big decisions that we don’t know about, trade agreements etc. We just have to get on with our lives & hope that their decisions don't screw with our lives too much.
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this fascination with claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto? on: October 06, 2023, 12:06:43 PM
Grifters, scammers, fantasists, narcissists & a mixture of all of that I suppose. Bitcoin is perhaps the greatest innovation of the last 100 years. To be able to say you are Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of such a phenomenon is kind of a big deal. All of these people who want what comes with that, want what it would bring to be the great Satoshi. Ignore all the noise though, I don’t believe Satoshi will ever come out of hiding, it goes against everything that he is/was. Certainly none of the scammers who have claimed to be Satoshi so far are the great man.
660  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a 20% Annual Return good ? on: October 06, 2023, 11:53:12 AM
A 20% annual return is fantastic & a great profit in any type of investment vehicle. Can you guarantee that though, like really guarantee it? Is it safe, is it secure? Are you the only one with access to this asset, is anybody else in control of it, because if they are it’s not a good idea & a recipe for disaster.
