681  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Halloween giveaway scam is all over, protect your Bitcoin. on: November 01, 2023, 01:25:47 AM
Oh yes, several years ago there was also a influx of halloween giveaway if I'm not mistaken. And it seems that the scammers are just repeating themselves taking advantage of this scams to lure their victims in the falsehood of a giveaway.

And it seems that everyday though, there are a lot of attempts, recently here in our country there is a influx of sms messages scam about your banks and the scammers are going to link you to a phishing site. So the weapons that we can used against this scammers is to really be very vigilant as to not fall for the trick and become the next victims or even report it so that the website will be taken down.
682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Positive thoughts and attitude towards Bitcoin. on: November 01, 2023, 12:09:06 AM
Everything that involves thinking and doing in bitcoin is something that has to be impressive, people have to be quite adoptive regarding this issue because bitcoin does lend money, it is better than putting it in a bank and for me it is one of the greatest inventions in the world made by a human, it seems so incredible to me that it is impressive that a human or humans have come up with something like this, it is as if it had no precedents, but we have it, the fact that a type has been created of economics where banks or governments do not have access is already something that is genius, so all my respect for Satoshi, he will always be the best.

For sure everyone is impressed as well into this kind of technology where you can do trade and investment by just simply clicking anywhere you want, as long as you are connected to the internet, some can do offline not sure what is it called but it has to do with like satellite. This kind of invention is not only amazing by it's features, but the fact that it changed a lot of people's life, it can be positive or negative, but let's look on the brighter side where mostly Bitcoin helps a lot of people. This freedom you get for the crypto industry where you are not under control, but you control your assets should be appreciated, that's why salute to the creator which is Satoshi!
It's new kind of technology, and just like the internet before, no one wanted to touch it before it has a lot of negative connotations and people that time doesn't believed on it. But sooner or later, people will really have to adopt to this new technology otherwise, they will be left behind. And now look at how internet has improved that everyone is now using it.

So I wouldn't be surprised if Bitcoin will have the same path. Lots of negative in the beginning, there are certain groups that attack it. Nevertheless, in the last 10 years or so Bitcoin has slowly taking traction and people learn how to used it, like form of money or store of value and an assets.
683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 31, 2023, 05:00:33 PM
Philadelphia 76ers traded James Harden to the Clippers.
The league is going to mess up badly with this team. Jarden, Westbrook, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are a very good squad, I hope they can be champions.

Uhmm they look scary on paper, but I still have doubts on whether or not they'll gonna gel together or at least how this team is gonna work. We've seen enough of old superstars stacking together on the same team, it usually ends up so bad.
Let's see how the Clippers are gonna make this team work, because IMO, this team aren't gonna beat the Nuggets though.
They have traded away most of their PF, so most probably they're gonna play small ball, something that don't work against a top rebounding team.
On paper yeah, they looks scary, but they don't have the chemistry in my opinion. I don't know, but it seems that this organization can't really find the perfect players for their franchise. They acquire Leonard from Toronto after winning a ring with them, but after that Kawhi was not healthy. Same with PG as they always fell short in every playoffs. And now they bring another headache in James Harden, trading their defensive players and then some future picks for nothing. James Harden ego though, he was able to get what he wanted, I think the NBA should put protection for the teams as well and not just give in to every trade this superstars wanted. Harden has been doing it, he goes to Houston and said that he wanted out, he go to Brooklyn, and then when everything is not falling, he wants to be traded and his wish was granted and goes to Sixers. Now the same thing happen.
684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 31, 2023, 04:26:03 PM
Some of you think Francis should have won, but the match should have been a draw IMO. He did okay, but not well enough to win. It just one round. Tyson Fury won every round according to the judges, even though he wasn't his best. But, the result won't change, so let's move on. It's all about the money!
Of course it won't change anything, the judges decision is always final. But this result is going to be discussed for many years in my opinion. And there could be different opinions as you have seen in the discussion here. There are fans who think that Francis won, or just like what you said, it could have been at least a draw. But the judges are not going to do that because it will derail the biggest heavyweight fight schedule in December (although this is not going to happen now because of the result of this fight as Fury will need to rest). Everything is about the money, boxing is business and so that judges could be in that two as this sports is corrupt as well.
685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - December or January in Saudi Arabia on: October 31, 2023, 09:50:17 AM
Fury completely underestimated his last opponent. He thought that it would be a piece of cake for professional boxer to beat MMA fighter in a boxing fight. Now, all of a sudden 2 months is not enough to recover and prepare for a fight against one of the best boxer. What a surprise. Fury has already spoiled his legacy with that split win against non boxer. Some experts say that this is the start of an end of his career. Imho, Usyk will be maximum motivated to win their fight and he will add a first loss in Fury's record.
It's obviously will put a lot of weight on Fury's career, I mean he should be winning against Francis in a easy manner. But Ngannou proved to be a good MMA/Boxer and he give Fury all he can handle and even scoring that big knock down that no one expected of him to do against the best Heavyweight boxers we have right now. It could be that Fury might be on the downside already because of this performance.

Hence, Usyk might see this weakness already and will try to exploit Fury in the mental games that they are playing. So it's better for Fury to just take a rest and fight Usyk early next year. I don't think he will recover enough till December.
686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquaio vs Mayweather 2 rematch on: October 28, 2023, 01:40:58 AM
This is the only exception I can think of for this rematch to happen. If Saudi people put tons of money for this to happen, it would most likely to happen, because this is the only way Mayweather would ever change his decision. I mean Pacquiao is always there ready for any challenges that will be offered in the table, but as for Mayweather he is already ducking to protect his flawless legacy. Even with just an exhibition against Pacquiao if he losses, it will still tarnish his legacy though his records are still clean.
Mayweather is all about money chaching! So money is the only way we can put these 2 together again in the same ring.

I will be very excited to watch these two fighters have rematch two. Nothing is impossible regarding to rematches ready to be featured between two fierce fighters. Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather would be a tough game to feed my eyes with, whereas the vast majority are ready to watch the big game but it's unfortunate because fights matches like this are determined and instructed by the upper hands, these are the main categories that decides and operates the affairs of these fight matches. Every activity carried out followed a gradual process, that's basically how we learn.
I still think the chances of this fight happening are not very high, because even if they were thrown a mountain of money to fight, we know that Mayweather cares a lot about his undefeated record and he did everything to keep it, and even if he demanded there was no scoring during the exhibition match and there was no winner or loser we know that fans and experts alike will find a way to score the fight anyway and declare an unofficial winner, and if he were to lose then he will lose one of things he appreciates the most at the very end of his career, so I do not see Mayweather accepting even if he loves to make money.
This fight is not going to be professional match, and most likely fell into the category of exhibition. Floyd has been doing it for years now after he retired from professional boxing. So he has face a lot from Japanese fighter to Conor McGregor. So it's will not affect his professional record. Besides, record are nothing, he is not the GOAT even if he is 50-0. Muhammad Ali is still considered the greatest. Rocky Marciano retired at 49-0, but might be up their to the list, but not as great as Ali. Even Manny Pacquiao are considered even better that Floyd as he goes up in 8 weight classes and become a champion. And I doubt that someone can touch that record. If Floyd doesn't loves money then he shouldn't be going after exhibition fights. But he did. So your argument is somewhat flawed, I'm sorry to tell.
687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: October 28, 2023, 01:09:27 AM
I might be seeing another Crawford vs Spence fight. Shakur likes to play like Crawford, while for me De los Santos fights like Spence. So it's a copy fight and we all know how it ended. De los Santos is a good boxer with power, but Shakur will figure it out how to beat him, and uses his boxing IQ. So maybe it's going to be +7.5 rounds, with Shakur winning by KO/TKO. But still though, this is a great fight and we will see Shakurs skills and technique.

This is a different kind of fight – a champion versus a non-champion. That bout between Spence and Crawford was an undisputed fight, while in this case, Shakur isn't facing a world champion. So, I'm not setting my expectations too high for this one. It seems like it could be more of a tune-up fight for Shakur.

Maybe a little similar in the way that De Los Santos has to be the aggressor here and try hard to land his big shots on Shakur. Shakur is the one to use his footwork to stay away from engaging and use his skills to hit and not get hit.
Yeah, and this is what I'm trying to say, the aggressive and style of Delos Santos, he want's to take the lead by Shakur might counter him all day. Just like in the Spence vs Crawford fight. Wherein it started as a chess game, but when Spence was making a lot of mistakes as he try to be the aggressor, Crawford take advantage of it and eventually score a knock down that change the complexion of the fight.

But in terms of experience, Shakur might be fighting only the 2nd time in this division but the experience difference is just too wide. Shakur is a silver medalist in the Olympics, a 2 division champion, a 1-time lineal champ, and a unified champion. While he is a regular 135 fighter, this is the first time De Los Santos is fighting a 12-round event let alone his first championship fight.

So I have the feeling that De Los Santos gets tired in the middle of the fight and that is when Shakur tries to stop him.
I think Delos Santos will go and opt for being the aggressor here, he can't just laid back and let Shakur be the aggressor. He has a tough chin as well so he will go early. So it's going to be a good battle, while Shakur picking up his shots while Delos Santos is coming in. For sure him though have work with that gas and stamina. He needed that if this fight will go full 12 rounds.
688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 28, 2023, 12:56:35 AM
Harden won't be back, I am sure of that and I agree with what Sir Charles said, 76ers management will be forced to take a bad deal just to let him go.
But here comes a problem for him.
Quote
The league, which strengthened its rules about resting healthy players this summer, is investigating the reasons behind Harden’s absence from the 76ers’ nationally televised season opener against the Bucks.

“We’re looking into the facts around James Harden’s availability tonight to determine whether an approved reason exists for his lack of participation,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement.
https://www.nba.com/news/nba-looking-into-james-harden-absence

I'm pretty sure the 76ers were well aware that this situation was going to happen. It's puzzling why Harden hasn't been traded yet, especially when the season has already started. They should have made the trade before the season began to allow for better chemistry among the players involved in the Harden trade.

Although they put up a good fight in their game against the Bucks, it's evident that they were undermanned, and they ended up losing the game. The longer they keep Harden on the team, even if he's not playing, the more challenges they'll face in each game. It's high time they make a wise decision, even if it feels a bit late.
Well, it's because Daryl Morey is the president of the basketball operations of the Philadelphia 76ers and this guy ain't going to receive a losing trade. He had been in the trading business for a long time and all I knew was that he always ended up winning his trades, not the other way around.
That may be the reason why the James Harden saga continues until now. Either that or they are expecting Harden will change his mind and come back voluntarily thinking how much damage he had already done. But I doubt that, I think Harden is as hard as stone now and this ain't actually the first time we have seen this in the Philadelphia 76ers. Ben Simmons remember? It took a year of drama and Ben didn't play at all.
They cannot repeat that same mistake again, they need that roster spot to be filled even though the trade will be a bit unbalanced. There's 1 year left in the contract of Harden, and not many teams will inject him mid-season just to pay for that balance and not get any good thing in return.
Might be better if he will just comeback and play with the Sixers. But I guess the damage has been done already, with him and Joel and the rest of the team. Remember that he just came here last year and with a lot of expectations. He really did good though in the playoffs against the Sixers, but they fell short. But with the way the Sixers play in their first game without him against the Bucks, they look solid, so maybe the team are not going to miss him after all. And then they will just let the management deal with the drama, just like when they had it against Ben Simmons. So Daryl Morey will not give any of his core just to trade Harden, they are find without him.
689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A brief explanation of bitcoin ETF on: October 27, 2023, 09:16:35 AM
I'm seeing numerous news channels uploading news on bitcoin ETF since the recent increase in price of bitcoin. What is it about? Searched for existing definitions and answers here but wasn't satisfied with the 2011 thread I read. Why is it not approved by the government officials? Thanks in advance.
Others have provided a lot of links for you to study what Bitcoin ETF means, but in any case you have questions, here is a good thread, Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask!, or Everything you wanted to know about a future Based ETF and were afraid to ask! by @fillippone.

690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: October 27, 2023, 08:38:40 AM
I'm starting to have mixed feelings about what Tapales has been doing lately. It seems like he's moving away from being a humble boxer and trying to imitate what Casimero has been doing. I understand that he's training hard, but maybe he should keep his words to himself and just focus all his energy into training.

Calling himself a "nightmare" for Inoue sounds a bit funny because no amount of trash talk is likely to disrupt Inoue's focus.

That's just how it is, man. Boxers who engage in trash talk tend to get more attention. While Tapales might not naturally be that boastful, he's probably following the orders of his promoter. Marketing the fight is crucial, and this kind of promotion is designed to make the fight more interesting, attract a crowd, and boost potential PPV sales if there is one.

Also, if there is an agreement in their contract that the fighters will receive a big bonus if the sales of their payperview reaches a certain quota then Marlon Tapales should certainly trashtalk and market himself as Inoue's nightmare hehehe.

I reckon Marlon should also watch the replays of Conor McGregor's interviews and start walking the billionaire walk like Conor hehehe.

Nah, I don't think that Tapales has the swag like that, this Filipino boxers came in poor like Manny Pacquaio, so they are really very humble in boxing even if they become a world champion because they still think were they come from. Exception to the rule is John Riel Casimero, however, it seems that his arrogant lifestyle has caught up with him. He doesn't have a good fight at 122 lbs so far and we don't know if Inoue will give him a chance after he got all the belts from Tapales.

And remember that this two doesn't speak English very well and obviously it's not their first language. So it's very hard to talk trash against your opponent as it will go on a translator and the translator might missed or intentionally omit words.
691  Economy / Gambling / Re: Nexus - your online casino platform on: October 27, 2023, 02:53:24 AM
We will localize our site in the near future.
You don't have to localize the site because it is already localized so you only need to make the site general for everyone to participate. As it is, it is only the local language users can participate because people like us do not understand anything there. And the thread is in general board. If I were you, I won't wait for any near future but I would have add the general language right now. Just the language and nothing more for now. Then later you can add more features to it.
My dear friend, these are the costs of translation from Russian into another language, new localizations will be ready today.

Ok, so most likely we will have to wait then how is the website in English. And as you can see, everyone is very excited to see your gambling platform. Because gamblers here wanted to test new and see how it goes for them. So it's very important that you have at least English because almost everyone here speaks that.

Again, as others said, might be good if you will hire someone to promote your new site hear for greater audience. Yahoo62278 already show his interest on handling your marketing here through signature campaigns as it is one of the best promotions that you can get in this community.
692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 27, 2023, 02:21:39 AM
What a debut game by Dame Lillard, and if I'm not mistaken, he has now own the record in Bucks history for most points in a debut game. He puts in a show with 39 big points, And Giannis with 23 points.

But you have to give up to the 76ers as well, without Harden they almost steal this one for the home court of the Bucks. But in the last 4 minutes Dame took over the game, perfect in free throws and then his beyond the arc attempts. Not sure what they stick with Oubre guarding him though, I mean Lillard is just going around circles with Kelly and then made those 3's.
693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the last 5 years compare to now on: October 27, 2023, 01:35:29 AM
Well, it's nice to see how Bitcoin has changed in the last 5 years.back in 2017 Bitcoin was around $4000,  and there a lot of speculation if it will be a good ideal of investment.  With the pass years we have seen the up and down with price of Bitcoin nearly $69,000 @ November 2021, the price today of Bitcoin is around $21,000, which is a big huge change from the past few years. Bitcoin have a positive  value, it can also used as and asset.  In the past five years has been a huge growth, however institution that held Bitcoin and investment on it like Tesla , having a amount of Bitcoin on their account. This has brought a huge profit. The way Bitcoin is been used by large and small companies and organizations. Do you think this will continue in the coming years?
Just for the record, the price right now is almost $34k not $21k,

Not sure if you have been here in 2017, but yeah, it was a very good time back then, not just Bitcoin but even altcoin market back then are booming with their ICO. Regarding your question of institutional money flowing in the market, yeah why not? You don't need to worry about those institutions though, as retail investors just like you and me are very important on the market. We are the one going to push for the price in the next bull run. So the question is, are you ready? have you accumulate enough to make profits? If not then you still have months to save and buy Bitcoin.
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blackrock ETF Discussion on: October 26, 2023, 10:18:19 AM
It is very interesting that Blackrock ETF, which was on DTCC's site since August, suddenly caused so much speculation yesterday and then was taken off the site. What do you guys think? Is an ETF coming soon? How come no one took notice of DTCC's site until yesterday?

https://www.coinfeeds.io/daily-trending-news/clarifying-blackrock-bitcoin-etf-speculation
Yeah, it is very uncanny for them to removed the ticker when someone notice it on their website. So it could be that they just made a big and honest mistakes on their end, or they wanted to see the pulse of the crypto world and see what will be the reaction. And so obviously, it created a lot of noise and pushes the price to $35k. And the good thing is that even after they have taken it down, the prices keeps on that price range.

As for the ETF coming soon, yeah, the pressure is now on SEC to approved it. There are big guys playing on the market right now, too influential that the SEC can't really do anything about it but to approved it. And most likely it will coincide with the bull run in the next year.
695  Economy / Speculation / Re: 127% Up from Bottom in 2022 on: October 26, 2023, 10:00:18 AM
I almost forgot how long it's been since the bottom was reached until I came across this thread title Smiley Thank you for the upbeat and positive reminder. The painful "prediction" for me this year & 2024 though is if whether that was the bottom of this whole cycle because all other cycle bottoms drop to around 15% of ATH... while this one was above 20%. Are we seeing another big dump first before new bull? Is it something to affect how we hold? Smiley
Lol, it seems that you have a short memory, but for us it is still fresh from November last year as we have to endure the FTX collapse news and how it put a dent on the market. But looking it, sometimes it's better to see that happening in our market. I mean, we don't pray that we see black swan event like this one. But it shakes the market and what's let is those investors who what we wall the diamond hand.

I'm not sure if we will see a big dump though, I mean it's almost the end of the year now and investors are looking for the block halving next year. So we might see pre-halving at $50k. So as others said, just continue to accumulate and see how it goes in the next bull run for us.
696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a Top-down or Bottom-up bettor? on: October 26, 2023, 09:36:03 AM
Might be better if the OP put up a poll so that we will know how many of us are using this kind of methods.

But I guess like the rest of us, bottom-up betting method. I mean for example in sports betting, we only play or bet on the games that we are more familiar with. Like basketball for example, it's one of the most well known sports here in our community and we have a lot of members who bet on that game (including myself). And if you look at the tips, it's almost that it is based solely on their analysis and not on someone tips or something. Maybe there are a few here who find some reliable tipster and follow them, it might not be a good idea though as that tipster might encounter some losing streak or be on a negative for a certain sports.

Yes, this is another sad story with regards to gambling and it's consequences especially if you don't have total control of your emotions. So imagine the burden of the lady here, as he put more than half of it for their once in a lifetime wedding that they will not forget as this is a very special day, thus he fiancee just play their money and obviously lost almost everyone.

Hard to give her advise, maybe the man is not meant to be for her. And maybe look for other guy and reset everything. But the emotional damage that has put a toll on her and the guy. I don't want to be in her shoe right now. But I guess she has to make that important decision in her life, whether to stay with that man, or broke the relationship and start all over again.
698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 26, 2023, 05:22:14 AM
Speaking of the best players in the league. Shams Charania is reporting that the 2024 NBA All Star game will return to the East vs West format. I think this is important for the future of the All Star game if they want to start tying finals incentives like home court advantage to the outcome of the All Star games to up competitiveness.
Good at least we are back from the old pattern because when they introduce some changes, fans didn't like it at all. Back to the games, San Antonio Spurs almost put a upset win against the Mavs. And everyone is very eager to see Wemby's first official NBA games and fans are not disappointed. He put up a show, but then again, it's the experience really that lacks with this young Spurs team.

And Luka is dialed in this game and will not allow the Mavs to lost against the Spurs. That step back three, is the dagger. But I'm impressed with their rookie acquisition in Lively. That's supposed how Wood should play when he was still with the Dallas.
699  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First bull run - how to not sell too early? on: October 25, 2023, 12:17:10 PM
Next year will hopefully be the start of the bull run and it will be first for me so just wondering if anyone has any advice/tips on how avoid the temptation and not sell too early?

All I have experienced so far in Crypto is bear market and with the market showing good signs over the last few days its made me realize that I am not used to the good times and I want to have a plan in place for when the bull run returns.

Even after the good few days recently my portfolio is still down 17% overall and at the worst I think it was 50% down so just getting back to break even will feel big for me but need to remember I am in this to do a lot better then break even.

Any advice or individual plan when it comes to selling in bull run?
Well just wait for it, I mean in 2017 Bull run, the ATH was December, and in the last bull run, is was November. So somewhere along that month, maybe in 2025, we will see a new all time high. Maybe it's 6 digit so who knows.

So I guess with that, just continue to HODL and mentally tough not to sell early. The best time to sell would be November-December in my opinion.

And I remember on the last bull run, it hits $50k+ and everyone says that it's the all time high already. But it continue to grow, just saying. Or if you wanted to, then sell some if you need to and not wait and time the market for the new all time high.
700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 25, 2023, 11:09:34 AM
First half ain’t looking so good for the Lakers. This is especially bad because in Denver opposing teams get tired fast so the Lakers have an uphill battle ahead of them. I think Anthony Davis is looking great on defense and LeBron looks pretty good, the rest of the team doesn’t seem to be playing very smart on offense though.

Too bad for the Lakers as they just being handed with another L against the Nuggets for 6 consecutive games, including the sweep in the playoffs. They had a strong early first quarter closing the gap to just 3 with the 13-0 run, but wasn't quite able to maintain the same level of energy when the Nuggets rallied back. It could have resulted in a different outcome if AD did not magically disappeared in the 2nd half. The guy did not score a single point.
LeBron still looking sharp, I though he could still play for another 2-3 years.

It's crazy how the Nuggets just refuse to lose on their home court, and their chemistry is on point again. They're still the team to beat, even though they're an underrated champion. And can we talk about Jokic? He's out there starting the season with a triple-double: 13 rebounds, 11 assists, and 29 points. What an MVP performance!

It's scary to see that Jokic still have that kind of ability to continue and dominate and have his first triple double in their first game against the Lakers. LA did everything they can, but the Nuggets simply refuse to lose this ball game in front of their fans. Jokic dominated the paint against Davis. I like how Gordon though take advantage of his size against Austin Reaves and taking him inside. And when everyone is healthy, they are really hard to beat specially in their homecourt.

They established that double digit in the first quarter and even if the Lakers try to make a comeback, the Nuggets will answer back. But in the 4th, a 3 by Murray and Porter Jr, seal the win for the Nuggets.
