721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin looking like sleeping gigant in this bull run season on: November 01, 2023, 06:18:02 PM
Ltc looking like sleeping gigant the price is Under 100$ definately cheap now people mis buy ltc because no body dont want miss the opportunity some experts Even say that LTC can Do 300% gain from here.
i think it's LTC time now in this crypto bull run season

LTC has a reputation for unexpected pumps but unfortunately the LTC pumps are rare. LTC seems to be dwindling out of existence slowly but surely. Between being one of the top 20 popular crypto and steadily losing its fans, I think we should see something exciting happen to Litecoin soon. But it used to be top 10 and even top 5 on coinmarketcap before that. So what happened?

I think it lost its appeal since there are much better third gen crypto alternatives that can do everything and more that LTC can do.

And how often do you hear about Litecoin in the news? Not so often, it seems. Huh
722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: November 01, 2023, 02:18:09 PM
Let's discuss the unique challenges of responsible gambling in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto gambling can be fun, but it's important to keep our financial boundaries intact.

Share your tips and thoughts on staying responsible in this digital realm.

I think the best way to stay responsible and safe in the world of gambling is to have an average amount of human common sense. And just like with almost anything else, common sense usually is quite effective and keeps you out of trouble. But that only goes for people who actually listen to their common sense and not those people who ignore it and do the bad thing anyway.

In gambling, doing the bad thing anyway (because YOLO lol) is extremely common. Much more common than anywhere else, I would argue.
723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 01, 2023, 11:04:12 AM
Gambling is not bad after all but addiction is, gambling has been receiving a lot of negative reactions and feedback but gambling also has a lot of health benefits associated with it but you can only get these benefits if you are a responsible gambler and you have total control of what you wage and limit your bankroll

These are some of the benefits to see more of its benefits you can read the whole article here

Can you add more besides what's written in this article?

Surprising Health Benefits of Gambling

Screenshots from: finehomesandliving.com

Seems like a complete bullshit article written by a scam artist who sells crystals to middle-aged women.

Gambling may be many things but it improves mood and is supposed to be a stress reliever? Since when? If anything it does the complete opposite of that. Furthermore, how is it in any medically scientific way healthy for the brain? It completely jumbles up the brains chemicals and screws up dopamine sensitivity in your brain. That might not be a irreversible, fatal illness but it can do a lot of harm. I see no reason to write a gambling article on the supposed health benefits of gambling. In fact, it will do more harm than good to gullible readers who actually believe it.

724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: October 31, 2023, 05:19:59 PM
I see a lot of people here talking about gambling responsibly. Yes, that is something very true, but have you ever been a gambling addict?

To be honest in the past I have spent a lot of money gambling. What I mean here is that I spent all my savings on gambling. Maybe the nominal amount is not that big but it makes me feel like a gambling addict. I spent 5 months of my savings on gambling. Currently I am aware and am in the stage of improving my own financial condition. Have you ever felt like a gambling addict? and how much did you lose in gambling?

Depends on what exactly your definition of a gambling addict even is. For some people, a gambling addict is someone who cannot stay still for a few hours without having to gamble. Or someone who spends his entire life in the casino, trying to catch that special high he felt the last time he had an amazing win. There are people who think think gambling once a month is a sign of addiction. Really, the addiction illness is different for everyone. Not everyone gets as easily addicted and not everyone gets as easily cured of their addiction.

All in all I think addiction is more of a spectrum. You need to know yourself in order to assess the risk of getting addicted. Or listen to a loved one that knows you.
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs and the 401(k) Dilemma on: October 31, 2023, 04:18:39 PM
As a staunch supporter of Bitcoin (BTC), I engage in Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) on a monthly basis. With the looming introduction of BTC ETFs, what should regular 9-5 workers with employer-matched 401(k) plans do with their mandatory fiat-based savings? In a scenario where my company allows self-directed investments, should we take a high-risk, "You Only Live Once" (YOLO) approach and dive into the upcoming BTC ETF? While many anticipate a positive impact on BTC's value, the question remains: should we channel our obligatory retirement savings into this? Or should we consider a drastic move, withdrawing from our retirement funds to purchase BTC, witnessing the world's chaos unfold over the next two decades? Your insights are greatly appreciated.

The YOLO approach sounds like buying on FOMO. Thats emotional trading and I advise you to be careful.Sure, it looks like the ETF is a sure thing now, but anything could happen. Thats why we DCA, is it not? To divide up our risks? We do not put all our eggs into one basket, and I think it is only necessarily prudent to say that Bitcoin might be perhaps the one exception to that rule. Or at least it has been, based on its history. I expect great things of Bitcoin and I think the ETF pump will be a small blip in Bitcoins timeline.
726  Economy / Gambling / Re: Free Condolence Bonuses to Betnomi exit scam victims on: October 31, 2023, 12:17:07 PM
Kudos to Trustdice for making a humble contribution to the healing process of the scam victims!

Its not rare to see someone fall victim to an exit scam, especially in the realm of cryptocurrency. But one does rarely see anyone trying to help the victims out with their own money. I hope you guys gain some new gamblers from this bonus event. As one poster above me already mentioned, it is indeed a win/win situation both for your casino as well as the scam victims.

Hopefully this bonus event will serve as a reminder to other casinos, that gamblers are only human as well.
727  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: October 31, 2023, 01:01:35 AM
Many governments are moving to push hard to reduce sales of diesel and petrol cars, the European Parliament has officially approved a law banning the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in the EU from 2035

Quote
The landmark law will require carmakers to cut down CO2 emissions by 100 percent.
The 100 percent cut in CO2 emissions from new cars sold would make it impossible to sell petrol or diesel-powered cars in the 27-country bloc. The law that comes into effect in phases that will require a 55 percent cut in CO2 emissions for new cars starting 2030, which is a much higher target in comparison to the current 37.5 percent.

Source ---> https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/auto/electric-cars/no-petrol/diesel-car-sales-by-2035-european-parliament-approves-ban/articleshow/97939363.cms

Some reports indicate that the costs of running an electric car are actually lower than the costs of running a car with an internal combustion engine.
So, will this goal be achieved by the year 2035? Will the cars be more efficient and at a good price compared to current prices, or is it a policy that may take decades?

Yeah, because everyone will either buy used fossil fuel cars or buy new electric cars that are refueled with electricity that was produced by burning fossil fuels. Unless we discover a different way to generate electricity, we will come to the conclusion that our energy demands outstrip our energy production. The discovery would have to be something amazing though, like cold fusion.

I mean you can try slapping a solar panel on your Tesla but it won't generate enough electricity in a day to move a car.

2035 seems optimistic. Especially with with all the undiscovered oil reserves. Who needs a life-nurturing environment when you can save money?

728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to value bitcoin and cryptocurrencies? on: October 31, 2023, 12:46:11 AM
Market Cap = Current Price x Circulating Supply

Price = Marketcap divided by Circulating supply.

If people buy more bitcoin, the market will increase, which is proportional to the price. Which means as people buy more bitcoin than selling it, the price will increase.

NO!

value is not market price

the best method is to look at the most cost efficient method of acquiring an asset.

for instance if it costs a gold miner $900 to mine. and thats the cheapest on planet, that is the value point
for instance if it costs a btc miner $24k to mine. and thats the cheapest on planet, that is the value point

value is not price..

think of value as the whole sale cost and the market as the retail price.
value is a different number to the market

bitcoin price(34k) sits nearish to good value(23k) compared to the ATH premium(70k)(2021 high)
  0     23  34          70
  ||||||||||||||||||||
               ^

gold price(2k) sits no where near value(900) compared to the ATH premium(2.2k)
  0        900       2  2.2k
  ||||||||||||||||||||
                        ^

use the cryptos most efficient and least efficient mining cot on the planet to work out value vs premium.. then see where the price sits
to see if if the price is in value or premium zone

2023 adjusted view of bitcoin shows there is potential premium window limit of $140k instead of 2021's $70k which puts bitcoin more into the greenzone. however we have not tested the upper limits. so playing it safe bitcoin has potential to reach 70k again meaning a 2x upside atleast.
where as gold is near its all time peak meaning not much upside

And with Bitcoin, we know for a fact that the cost of mining a single Bitcoin will go up up up. This means the value rises, but as Frank mentioned, market price is not the value. This is why looking at a speculated value instead of the price is the preferred perspective of hodlers.

There are way too many unknowable variables to define the speculational value at some future or even present time. All we know that Bitcoin is designed to become more scarce and the demand for Bitcoin is still strong, after all these years.

That seems like a projection which sparks confidence.
729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Profit And Conscience on: October 30, 2023, 05:24:41 PM
the agent wants to lease at a very good price and a share of the income of the lotto.

Exactly how much of a share are we talking about? And is it normal for someone to demand a share even though he already is profiting (I assume) off of the leasing? I am not too sure whether or not this is a good deal for the agent, but then again OP did not really give us any in-depth details. There might be a good reason why the agent is so eager to lease at such a disadvantage. Your friend should take his time on deciding and should not let anyone, especially the agent, rush him into a decision.

When something seems to appear more urgent than it really is, especially with a deal involved, then there is probably a well-thought-out purpose behind it.

730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports bets or in-house games, which is best for the weekend. on: October 30, 2023, 04:23:57 PM
Hey, fellow gamblers so I have some free time for the coming weekend and I want to spend it with family and also enjoy some games,  I want maximum entertainment and fun to ease me off the stress.

My challenge is, I have limited funds to spend on gambling for the weekend so I have to be very accurate and certain about what I will be spending my money on this weekend, and I am confused about which of the games to go for.

weekends are for football matches, where I can watch the games,  make analyses and stake my bets along that line,  which have always been the usual rutin for all.

Also in house games are also very exciting and entertaining since I will be in control of the games and their potential outcomes keeping in mind the possibility of the house edge,  so this brought me to this confusing position between which of the both to choose from and so I will like to get individual opinions on the best games for the weekend.

Sport bets vs in-house games which is most enjoyable and has a higher tendency of bringing much winning compared to it possibility of losing?

I prefer in-house games because, in sports, I mainly enjoy boxing. So that limits the fun for me when we are talking about sports gambling. But I have been looking into a few sports and I may be changing my mind sometime in the near future.

Having said that, if you are looking for fun, I think slots are probably the most fun you can have without having to think about strategies or game plans.

Just for when you come home from work, tired, and want to relax without having to turn on your brain and stress your mind. At least that is how I see things.  Grin
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: October 30, 2023, 08:52:03 AM
Loneliness can definitely bring one to an addiction. Whether or not that is a gambling addiction or food addiction, drug addiction or even an alcohol addiction (although one might suppose that is also considered a drug addiction). Remember what addiction is: A malfunction of brain chemicals which give you the feeling of happiness and reward. If there is something wrong with your dopamine receptors or the levels of dopamine, then it can lead to addiction as a symptom.

The best thing to do is go cold turkey until your brain chemicals rebalance itself back to normal. That can take months or even years, depending on the severity and time of your addiction.

Loneliness is what makes you crave for more dopamine. And your brain thinks that, if you gamble, all your dopamine needs will be met. But that is just your brain lying to you. You should know better.

732  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges allowing fixed monthly investment in BItcoin on: October 27, 2023, 04:47:03 PM
Where are you in the world? Not every exchange operates in every country.

NOT YOUR KEYS NOT YOUR COINS

NO MATTER WHICH EXCHNAGE YOU USE

Don't leave your BTC on an exchange, deposit -> trade -> move coins to your own wallet.

-Dave

I completely agree that one should never leave their coins on ANY third party wallet. Whether it is a crypto exchange wallet or an online gambling casino wallet. But again that might be difficult if he is a day trader who often needs to trade. He will probably burn all his money away on the transaction and withdrawal fees of sending the coins back to his wallet. Exchanges do try to make withdrawal unnecessarily hard for their customers. One alternative would be either DeFi or to use a different coin with a very low fee in order to push back and forth often without incurring large fees.

Anyway, try to stay out of trouble and good luck! I will be sure to check out your casino soon! I must say, the UI looks great!
734  Economy / Economics / Re: In times of war, Gold rises. What about Bitcoin? on: October 27, 2023, 11:03:53 AM
I've seen Gold market prices rising lately as a result of the current Israel-Hamas conflict. However, Bitcoin hasn't experienced any upsurge in price. It's still hovering around the $26k range. Something similar happened during the Russia-Ukraine war.

Is it because investors still don't trust Bitcoin as a store of value? Or is it something else? Please enlighten me. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

I do not see why Bitcoin would not be a good hedge against war. In fact, I think that unless the internet itself is compromised in every country in the world at the same time during some apocalyptic world war 3 event or something, Bitcoin will be completely fine. But it is important to diversify, just in case. Every time the news is bad, we see a short term Bitcoin drop. And if that bad news is connected to Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general, then the price dumps even harder. But in the long term, we should take a look at whether or not the wars have had less long term impact for Bitcoin than for say, stocks or gold.
735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Mattress Mack" loses nearly 10 million dollars on Astros Loss on: October 27, 2023, 10:41:10 AM
Most of you probably aren't familiar with this man, but he's pretty popular here in the United States, known for making monster bets on his favorite baseball team, the Houston Astros ( also the most hated team in America being that they were caught cheating  during their World Series win a few years back).

I saw a video of someone giving him shit and him stacking "fuck you, fuck you" left and right back at the man.  This guy seems to lose his cool quite a bit.  He seems like an old fart but if you look up his history, he's bet millions upon millions of dollars, both winning and losing TONS of money.

Here's the recent bet/story ( could you ever bet millions if you had it? )
https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/jim-mattress-mack-mcingvale-lost-at-least-7-9-million-on-astros-world-series-bets/

I never really understood the allure of gigantic bets. If you were to see that amount of money from his perspective, I think you would agree that it is not really impressive, considering how much money he makes/has. I bet that for him, betting millions of dollars is like losing a small chunk of his immense fortune. He has a net worth of $ 300 million. So he lost a bit more than 3% of his money. Roll Eyes

People here have bet their entire life's savings. Or money worth years of saving up. If you ask me, that is both more impressive and dumb.
736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the last 5 years compare to now on: October 27, 2023, 09:30:16 AM
Do you think this will continue in the coming years?

Oh yes. Definitely.

I also think we will see somebody post a similar thread in 5 years time, saying how crazy it is that only 5 years ago, Bitcoin was only $30k. Grin

To be honest, it would be history repeating itself because 5 years ago and 5 years before that, people were posting threads just like this one, saying how surprised they were that Bitcoin reached such leaps in price.

I am not going to be one of those people in 5 years because I will be hodling. No surprises. Only happiness. Cheesy

I recommend others who are currently investing in the wrong coins to rethink whether they want to be part of Bitcoin history or not. Now is one of the most exciting times- Countries have started adopting Bitcoin. It starts small, at first. But the Bitcoin adoption is now unstoppable. Shocked
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling industry is using big tobaccos playbook on: October 27, 2023, 09:20:44 AM

I guess covid really sparked the gambling itch for so many people

I totally agree. People were bored out of their minds while trapped inside their own homes. A situation like that was a godsend for online gambling casinos. Especially those who like to play dirty. But then again, most big corporations are evil. Not only gambling or tobacco. Even a sweet nostalgic brand as Nestle is quite evil, if you have been following their outrageous "business tactics". The fat cats are all extremely vile and evil people. Thats probably what it takes to become so big in the first place. A complete disregard for everyone else but yourself.

739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 27, 2023, 07:14:50 AM

Even though you overall conclusion is positive about bitcoin, you surely make a grim showing in order to get there,
...
does it matter very much?

Its not really grim, it is wise to keep an eye out for good buying opportunities. I would love a lower Bitcoin price because I know it will go much higher in the near future. Gotta fill up those bags.
740  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 27, 2023, 05:21:15 AM
Nobody truly owns any bitcoins..because the ownership is only established when you are able to apply a correct private key in a "send" tx (via hardware device or something else), albeit validation of the private key (at some other point in time) is possible. Before that, it is all allegedly. This is in principle, of course.

This is like saying that your house is not truly yours, until you put the key in the lock and open the door...

....

Losing your keys is not relevant to the discussion. In the same manner, the possibility that you could cross a road and be killed by a passing car means that you're not really alive right now. I can see this turning religious fairly quickly...

If you prefer science, I can steer the argument into the realm of quantum physics? OR American divorce laws. One day its your house, other day you come back from work only to discover that your wife is now the sole house owner.  Tongue
