You should stop pretending to be a member of the mathematics department at the University of Florida.

Sorry. I did not go to medical school. My degree is in mathematics. But your remarks are inappropriate because you are a generally immature hateful person.

Which university did not make you take basic anatomy as part of a 12 year degree?   Roll Eyes
I know what words like 'breasts' mean. Please stop this senseless nonsense.

822  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: January 09, 2024, 05:08:39 PM
Thankfully many of us do not regularly write about mixers therefore we will not have to watch our steps as we write avoiding various words that include URLs (though mentioning mixers by name is allowed). It will be just a small number of members that will be worried about either being censored or being banned. As long as we post as usual but without promoting/endorsing mixers, there should not be any problems.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: January 09, 2024, 03:14:04 PM
@JollyGood Chelsea owner made the mistake of sacking the coach too early when he sacked Tuchel and that’s why he’s keen not to repeat that mistake and therefore Poch is getting lots of time. Furthermore in my personal opinion Poch should stay because there’s no way any new coach can come and transform this Chelsea side because the squad is very big and many are new recruits and it was always going to take a while hence Poch should not be sacked at least for now.
For reasons not known or understood, the new Chelsea owner decided to sack Tuchel while he thought Potter was an up and coming manager and would be a long term project at Chelsea. Unfortunately for both parties, it did not work and Chelsea are paying for that error. Potter was way out of his depth because Chelsea were/are far bigger than Brighton and Hove Albion (his previous team as manager) and he could not cope with the demands of the fans or even manage a team full of expensive signings.

Pochettino will not lose his job at the end of the season. He will be there at the start of next season because Chelsea cannot afford to make another disastrous error.

Football management has evolved since he was at Tottenham. Not to mention that when Conte was fired, Tottenham had the opportunity to bring him back but chose other available options (they got a better modern manager).

Before you talk about Poch's successes at Tottenham, keep in mind that he won nothing during the golden Tottenham era and nearly destroyed the team after three brilliant seasons.

Poch is not a bad coach, but he is not the manager for our young project since his player management is terrible.
In your opinion who should be managing Chelsea now?

Have you managed to define what the "odd" in odd jobs means?

For those asking for account verification, I do not offer such service, thanks. More odd jobs please...
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: January 09, 2024, 01:45:54 PM
We can't trust someone who had PSG play the worst football in Europe with Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe on the team; he doesn't have a winning mindset, and he's proven it time and time again. Can you name one player who has benefited from Poch's presence? Just one
You only have to look at the way Pochettino transformed the way Tottenham played. I am sure he will benefit the players after he is given time at Chelsea. As for PSG, he could not manage a team properly when the dressing room was dominated by players with large egos such as Messi, Mbappe and Neymar but he will have no problems managing Chelsea.

I'm not saying Poch will def not be a success.  He very may well could be a success.  All I'm saying is it won't be a surprise if he's given the sack after a year or if they still have an empty trophy cabinet.
I agree but I think in the case of Chelsea, their fans have been through a lot of disruption and problems over the past few years therefore they will be patient with Pochettino as they need to start building stability.

Signing your posts with Ph.DD is simply pure gold and clearly rattled the OP Grin

Well, now that his so-called superior intellect has been challenged by your Ph.DD I guess he literally does not know what to do or where to turn when confronted with your own DD intellect.

On a serious note, it is very sad to see the way he has been pretending to be a member of a university staff with the sole intention of misusing his name (probably out of spite/revenge).

Please sir, this is not insincere sir, I need you to stop being jealous of me.  I will stop the next six pandemics for free, sir.

Unless someone pays me, I will not stop the seventh for free.  Sorry, but I have to eat.  :/

Edit: Please, sir.
827  Economy / Reputation / Re: Timelord2067, can you clarify please before I post a flag on you? on: January 08, 2024, 10:41:34 PM
Thank you, I am glad you posted the link  Grin

That campaign manager had no problem with accepting a troll and signature spammer (the OP) that had multiple negative tags yet was making afuss about some of his campaign participants with neutral tags.

I could be wrong about the motives but there was a suspicion at the time that the campaign manager asked some participants to try to get their neutral tags removed because he himself created several threads trying to get his own tags removed and could use any revisions as an excuse to question why his tags were not removed. As I stated, I could be wrong but that was the assumption.

Yes he currently does not get paid for posting (or in his specific case for spamming or spouting nonsense). The chances are he will not get in to another campaign unless a certain campaign manager that no longer has mixers to promote allows him to join a different campaign. If that campaign manager had not allowed him to participate in a mixer campaign he would have disappeared but he will float around for a short while more before he finally gives up on the "digaran" account.

If my memory serves me right, that same manager had some "issues" accepting participants with neutral tags on their profiles. Negatively tagged trolls are fine apparently.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: January 08, 2024, 10:08:24 PM
Nowadays there are few clubs in the Premier League that would stick with their manager through thick and thin. The days of the board being loyal to their manager were over a long time ago.

If Chelsea sack Pochettino there is not a large pool of available managers to choose from therefore it will almost be like they are taking a step back. After they made a mistake hiring Potter they need stability and for that Pochettino is the best option for Chelsea. They are fortunate to have him and he must be given time to manage the team.

Poch's success is anything but assured.  Remember, they also got rid of their greatest manager yet in Mourinho.  So that shows that nobody is immune from the inevitable sacking if the team doesn't get the results.

It's just the way football is right now.  It's a bad culture and it's really sad to see that almost no club would be willing to stick with their manager through thick and thin.

https://www.tiktok.com/@jvanname

This is the second time I have mentioned the profile currently states:
"Ph.D. in Math. All ML algorithms are my own."

If you are who you claim to be, simply change it to:
"Ph.D. in Math. All ML algorithms are my own. I operate the jvanname account on Bitcointalk"

Here is what will happen, you will be unable to edit the TikTok profile therefore you will post every excuse in the book including repeating your earlier excuse/claim of wanting money in advance to prove it is your account because you claim you do nothing for free.

And with that there will be more excuses but the bottom line will be you will not edit the TikTok profile because you cannot. You do not have access to the TikTok account because you are impersonating someone else and they have no idea you are abusing their real name.

You still do not have any evidence of your claim that I do not have a Ph.D. in Mathematics, and you are too stupid to find any such evidence. You are so stupid that you cannot see any of the blatantly obvious evidence that I actually do have a Ph.D. in Mathematics. Yes. I am smart. You are stupid. Get over it.

This seems a very interesting idea but can you be more specific? How would the posting and decrypting to read part of the forum work?

Here is a quick shower thought.  Maybe this has been asked before however.

Is there a possibility to build a simplistic Decentralized Forum on top of the Bitcoin Network?  Or something that can be included in Bitcoin Core / Electrum and work in conjunction with Bitcoin?
832  Other / Meta / Re: FRAUD called "jvanname" create many trash at Serious discussion on: January 07, 2024, 10:55:52 AM
He uses those words (smart/stupid) in order to provoke members while he is using the real name of a person in real-life that he clearly wants to slander. The person using the "jvanname" is definitely not the person he claims to be. He is using his real name in every post just to bring negative attention to the real person.

I see that he persistently starts new arguments, based on "I'm smart, he's stupid", but I don't understand why the discussion with him continues. Isn't the best choice to ignore the troll, and given that he is smart, he will understand and give up in time.
833  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should Ratimov aka Symmetrick be in DT1? on: January 06, 2024, 08:59:46 PM
I echo your words, I have never seen an account of that level of prominence implode the way the Ratimov account did. Though accounts will continue to go down the same path, it might never happen again to another prominent account (or one near that level).

Be careful there you do not want to get a reputation for being a regular latecomer. I wonder, what is it that is happening around you that stops you from joining the party on time? Grin

I'm late to the drama party once again--not only did I miss that delightfully awful insult, but apparently I missed the banning of Ratimov as well.  I just learned about that in this thread, which was linked to from another one I was reading.  There's no answer to the question of why he got banned here, so is it a well-known fact that also flew right over my noggin or is it still a guessing game?

And yeah, a reputational nosedive is the best way to describe what happened to him.  Given his prior history and his apparent dedication to the forum, I really have to wonder what the hell was going on with him that he didn't try to maintain altitude, if you will.  I've seen other respected members go down in flames but maybe aside from Quickseller, Ratimov's disgrace and public shaming was the fastest and most complete destruction of a good reputation I've seen yet.

One wrong move, gents.  One wrong move.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 17th FEBRUARY 2024 on: January 06, 2024, 06:27:13 PM
Rumours are going around that Tyson Fury could pull out of the fight because he is not motivated enough.

Personally, I do not believe he will postpone the fight but his motivation has to be questioned. After his trilogy of fights against Wilder, it seems as though Fury has not been at his best and does not portray himself as someone who is desperate to unify the titles. Usyk has himself not been at his absolute best either but hopefully both boxers will be ready to fight on the night..
835  Other / Meta / Re: FRAUD called "jvanname" create many trash at Serious discussion on: January 06, 2024, 03:55:36 PM
He forum name should not be confused with the name he is adding to the end of the post. He is using the name with the consent of the person and is pretending to be him. In reality, "jvanname" could have had some issues and problems in real life with the person he is pretending to be (we do not know) but I hope he stops his trolling and provocations.

So, @jvanname, what do you say we talk this out respectful-like?

You are using the name of someone else without their consent. You are pretending to be someone else and even though that in itself might not constitute a ban, it certainly should increase the chances of being banned when the context of your posts include to inflame, troll and provoke members which signing the name of someone else as though they are doing it.

Even if it could be borderline acceptable as far as rules are concerned, it is not as far as a moral question is concerned therefore you deserve to be banned.

Instead of banning me, why don't we ban everyone here who is saying that I do not have a Ph.D.? They are harassers.
838  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: January 05, 2024, 11:14:54 PM
And here I was hoping and expecting the number of low quality posts and spam to decrease substantially. If any campaign is rewarding participants to post with up to 60 posts per week then I think the full effect of the mixer ban will not be visible when it comes to numbers of post or assessing low quality posts and spam.

With mixers now banned it will leave many members searching for campaigns. How many will continue frequenting the forum if they do not get paid for posting? That also should become apparent within a short space of time.

Anybody compiling any stats about how this change has already effected the community?  I'm curious if the amount of posts per day is down at all.
[cut]

I guess the typical number of posts per day or week won't change that much, long as stuff like Bitvest and Eloncoin campaigns keeps going.  Those reward up to 60 posts per week!  There might be a little drop off, but probably not significantly.  All participants doing the mixer campaigns seemed active and engaged posters.  So they shouldn't have trouble getting into new signature campaigns if they ain't already.

As for other impacts, hard to say just yet.  Too early to make any real judgements on that.

It seems the thread you provided a link to has been nuked.

I have already asked moderators to ban the "jvanname" account because he is trolling and also is using the name of a person in real life without their consent therefore impersonating them. Let us not forget he is asking for money in order for him to prove he is the person he claims to be.

why modertros doesnt moderate Serious discussion? This fraud create many trash topic at Serious discussion. todey he create trash topic with tittle "I will not do anything for you for free. Pay me."  at Serious discussion. modertros should NUKE this fraud or at laest delete his trash topic.

@JollyGood -: No Chelsea fan is happy with Poch at the moment. He met us at 10th more than 6 months ago and we're still 10th
Pochettino is the best manager Chelsea could have at the moment. Given time he will make them a much better team.

@JollyGood -: No Chelsea fan is happy with Poch at the moment. He met us at 10th more than 6 months ago and we're still 10th
But is the manager really the problem at this point?  I think by now, the Chelsea brass and the supporters should just go with Poch and accept that tough times are still coming ahead.  I mean nothing changed since I think Sarri?  And the last time the club has seen success was with Conte?  Dunno..  But it has been a long time.
Changing the manager would only help when/if there is a need to replace someone who does not have the confidence of the players, such as with what happened with Potter. They will have to at some point retain the manager by having belief in him and sell the players that the manager does not want. It will send a strong message to the team that the owners trust the manager and also that players will be sold if the manager does not want them.

Pochettino will be a success there but he has only been their manager for a short time therefore the really does need time.
