881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: July 29, 2023, 11:01:40 AM
By far the most scammed is ALT Coin. Still people are more interested in investing in these coins. While ALT coins are scams, there are some coins that are exceptions. I can only trust BNB for investment, I don't trust the rest of the coins that are out there. If there is any coin worth investing in for the long term after Bitcoin, it is BNB. Other coins are also good for investment but they are for short term for trading we can use ALT coins but for long term investment I will never choose other ALT coins.

He meant about altcoin and binance coin was also altcoin too. There's no different between binance coin and altcoin. I guess if you didn't get what OP meant above. you shall never investing in binance coin if you are not even trusting it.

It sounds really weird for me to see you said that above. BNB is altcoin.
And he also forgets that Ethereum is an altcoin too.
Anyways, it was acceptable that there are tons of shitcoins in the crypto market but to extend that we can't generalize them all as useless because some of them had a role to play like ETH and even Solana. We can't argue if someone would invest or not but the most important is that we are not investing worthless altcoins, especially those coins that are driven by hype to gain popularity and fame. We can't be careless in the sense that crypto space flooded with scam projects, yet there still some that are worth to trust.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 29, 2023, 07:28:47 AM
The thing is not to quit gambling,  most especially if you gambling for entertainment and how to keep yourself enjoying,  I am also against the opinion of taking gambling as a source of income,  but I am also for gambling because I actively gamble from time to time.

So there is a difference between the two,  and that is what ops must take into consideration in this instance and for that ops need to have rethink his decision to quit gambling in its totality.
I don't know why but I feel for some personal reasons people don't actually quit gambling for good, I feel they just take a break from it well if am wrong for everyone then for myself that's what I actually do because anything I feel I have gambled more than expected I actually pause for sometime and let go so I won't get affected emotionally and mentally.
Some people gamble in order to earn money.
Some also gamble for entertainment.

But as I can see, there are a lot of gamblers who think that they could win rather than just enjoy themselves. Of course, none of us are not aiming for it but we also know how to accept the fact that gambling isn't that looks like.
I don't encourage people to stop gambling but what I wanted is for them to think about it. I don't care about rich people but I was very concerned about the poor people who keep on gambling.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: July 29, 2023, 06:27:30 AM
I knew that there's many topic like this in the past that asking advice about loaning for gambling. The intention of this thread is determined what's the actual feeling when you are using a loan money on gambling knowing that there's an interest rate on your borrowed money which means you already lose part of your money before you start gambling.

What I feel is that - I can't focus on gambling because what is in my mind is worried about where I can get money to pay my loan if I lose them all.

That is why - if we are going to gamble, it is better not from a loan or borrowed money so we don't care whatever happens to us. Because if we wanted to earn a profit and grow our financial capabilities, gambling isn't the right place to spend on. It is better to start a small business rather than relying on luck in gambling knowing that our chances it very slim.
884  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is AI in crypto a game-changer or just another hype? on: July 29, 2023, 05:54:13 AM
AI is the next trend/hype after meme coins. I couldn't say it was a useless project because many people had already benefited from this technology but we must also know that everything has its limitation. It can be applicable to some areas but can also be not suitable to others like in trading. I'm not sure if it will be effective on gambling as I didn't try it but I think I shouldn't use it as well. So for now, we are still uncertain about the output of this technology, it is too early to draw a conclusion, and we still need to be cautious when investing.
885  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is copy trading a viable option for newcomers? on: July 28, 2023, 10:06:33 PM
Copy trading has gained immense popularity in the crypto industry since its introduction. Bitget, being one of the pioneers in this field, remains one of the largest platforms for copy trading cryptocurrencies. Many consider it an appealing choice for beginners, but is it truly effective for those who are new to trading?
Copy trading and using Demo accounts are the best options for newbies as it was an opening idea that we can use in actual trading. But it doesn't mean that we just be confident enough about what we learn from them, we also have to dig deeper through reading books or online tutorials. But what is important is that we are not afraid to lose because losing would help us to educate and give us more learnings. The more we commit mistakes, the more we find ways how to avoid them. I suggest newbies do this but I have also to warn about joining signal groups that promotes copy trading.
886  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is improving I guess? on: July 28, 2023, 09:43:37 PM
I think lately the bitcoin market is getting better where now the bitcoin price is back above $30k after being stuck in the $25k-$26k area a few month ago. It looks like the current price hike will continue. So, let's see if the current price hike will continue to at least $40k or if it goes back down significantly.
Now we are at the end of July where the Bitcoin price is still stuck in the $29K area and it looks like that is the price Bitcoin will end this month. If you are expecting a price of $40K, I think you need to see how Bitcoin will move in the next month so that everyone can make more informed predictions, especially for $40K because I still don't think that a price of that size will be seen next month. Especially at the end of this month Bitcoin is still stuck in the $29K area.
I don't see $40k is impossible unless if he says this month. But granting that he is expecting this year, I guess that is really achievable.
Yes, we saw that we are stuck to the $29k - $30k level but this meant that we can never see any improvement in the coming days because I know there will be changes. As the halving comes closer, the more I believe that prices will improve due to the surge in demand. In fact, this is what we experience in the past halving which is why I have the guts to say that reaching $40k is likely possible to happen this year.
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: July 28, 2023, 12:37:15 PM
The Bolts are still leading, but it's just a 4-point game. Actually, ROS managed to win the 3rd quarter as they outscored the Bolts by 3 points (21-18). Either team could win here because, in most scenarios of a close game in the 4th quarter, it's hard to predict the winner. I'm wondering, what was the spread of this game? Did @bisdak manage to place a bet?

I didn't manage to place a bet on the first game as i plan to bet with a handicap but that was not offer on the time i open my phone, could have been a big win for me if i place an ML bet for Meralco. Just observed that Meralco was playing with almost all of their core players so it's understandable that they bet ROS.

Only managed to bet for NorthPort ML @5.7, almost end of the first half and the score is 41-49 with Converge leading. Hope NorthPort would come back in the second half and win the game.
That's a huge odds, with Converge already leading by double digits. However, it's still too early, as we still have the 2nd half for Northport to make a comeback. We've seen a lot of comebacks in the PBA, so it's not impossible for them to turn the game around and win. If we enjoy live betting, we can get Northport at 8.40 moneyline and 13.5 handicap for 1.90 odds.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 28, 2023, 11:42:00 AM

Nonito was most taller, So he get more range as compared to other people. The shorter boxer will be easy for the Nonito, he can crush the short boxer using his hand power. In addition he had a power punch compared to the Santiago.Santiago had win many old experience boxer using his power arm. This fight will against the two power arm fighter. So the game winner will be the maximum punch player. The Nonito should win the game against the Santiago to prove his power against the most powerful player. This will make them to prove his power and make other to think about the match, even this help the Nonito to get the championship.

Nonito Donaire could win this fight easily because of his natural speed and power but the problem here is if he can still manage to take punches and managed to survive up to 12 rounds of non-stop action. Because as we know, he is no longer feeling like his old self, and taking multiple power punches is way more harder than before. Most likely he will higher his chance to win when Santiago distances himself and will not gonna choose to throw multiple power punches throughout the rounds because he is scared of the counter punches from Donaire.
The only scenario I see in this fight is Donaire winning by KO. Santiago is not the type of boxer who loves to run; he is an attacker as well. So, it would be easy for Donaire to impose his game plan against a shorter guy who loves to attack. I think that's better than Fulton, who tried to play safe but was still caught by Inoue in the end. Thus, I'm expecting firepower from the start of round 1, and this fight may not last 6 rounds in my opinion.
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Analyzing XRP's Potential: Can It Reach $1? on: July 27, 2023, 09:56:43 PM

Following Ripple's legal victory against the U.S. SEC, XRP's price nearly doubled. XRP has the potential to challenge the crucial $1 level in the upcoming days.
🔥However, the current outlook suggests limited strength in sustaining its rally further.
🔥If XRP successfully breach the $1 barrier, a potential target for September could hover around $1.35
For me, that was the usual price I see before and it only drops low during the bear season and it gets back to that price when the market had recover. But thinking it reaches high like other projects and turns bullish, that seems impossible and I'd never witness it. Honestly, we have nothing to expect more from the XRP price to rally high, it remains at that level below $3 no matter what we do. That is why many investors never see this as a profitable investment due to is behavior, however, I was happy to see its progress from its issue with the SEC.
890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Education and money as the key to Bitcoin adoption. on: July 27, 2023, 09:39:16 PM
`

Your knowledge and money will be useless if the government bans Bitcoin in your country. You are right, the government is really the key because if the government supports it, the people will follow. Though it is not the only reason why they aren't adopting bitcoin is because they heard about it from illegal things that were shown or heard in the news. That is the first time those people heard about it, and if they hear it again, they will be thinking again that it is like money for illegal things.
Government rules and policies surely affect Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies' broad adoption. They can ease or hinder change. Bitcoin is widely stated to be used in illegal activities, although this is an oversimplification. Remember that conventional currencies have also been used illegally, but they have escaped the moniker "money for illegal things." Criminals can't hide on the blockchain, and Bitcoin transactions may be traced. Bitcoin has improved from its darknet market days. We must overcome these illusions to appreciate Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Well, so many factors that affect adaptation and yes, the government has a big role to help. Their support is very important as that will also encourage their citizens to adopt but in the situation that they never see the interest of their leaders, I don't think they really have the courage instead, they will just ignore it. Because it was useless to learn crypto if the government is against it. This is why people have taken their options based on what they think could help them in the future or that might give them a problem when strict rules are implemented.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: July 27, 2023, 05:51:14 AM
On our local bookies i managed to get a nice bet as i'm betting for TNT +18.5 @1.99, different from crypto bookies.

Nice job, kabayan! Regardless, TNT still covered the spread, but it's good you were able to get 1.99 odds. Was that from live betting? Because the odds are high, it's supposed to be only 1.90 and below if it's pre-game odds.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 27, 2023, 05:21:13 AM
That's always been the case for Joshua after his first loss to Ruiz and Usyk. In the second Usyk fight, he had a breakdown after the fight.

So this is very important for him, Although he did get a new trainer, but still as the first round starts, it will be just him and Dillian Whyte. And it will be more mental for Joshua here than physical. He might be in the best shape of his life, but if his minds has started to doubt that he can win, then it won't help him here, IMHO.
The breakdown is so hard to see for Joshua's fans and camps but it is what it was it's a hard climb for Joshua but he is very prone to a breakdown he easily gives out when faced with a good adversary we first saw this in the Ruiz Jr fight he spits his mouthpiece and failed to answer when asked if he wants to continue after getting a knockdown, and on Usyk fight he became passive when Usyk was attacking him, I'm sure we will see a little bit of that trace when Whyte shows no respect to him in their coming match.

It's all in the mind now for AJ if he see flashes of the Ruiz fight in his mind in this fight. And we will see how Derrick James can motivate him in this fight. As @inthelongrun, he is training with a lot of great boxers as well. So hopefully, he will be extra motivated to train very hard in the same gym, sweating it out with the likes of Ryan Garcia and Errol Spence Jr.

So it's a mental game going forward for AJ, he should go back to his old style. And not be hesitant and let his hands go if needed. Because after the his first lost to Ruiz Jr., for sure majority of us has notice that AJ doesn't want to pull the trigger, and unsure without to punch 1-2 or just go chase the opponent in the ring without throwing any power punch.

Definitely, that's the weakness I have seen in him now because he was once a champion, and now he has plenty of losses already. When the problem is mental, it's not hard to rise up from that since what your mind says, the body will follow. However, there's good news because AJ has won his previous fight, so maybe he has slowly recovered a bit from his losing experience. Now, he's facing a fighter he has beaten before, and I'm sure he knows how to do it again.
893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why this Altcoin called Worldcoin could have a huge potential? on: July 26, 2023, 09:30:07 PM
Im seeing some fraud allegation to this project. The regulators were also trying to spend some times to examine this project. It's not yet clear what's gonna be other purpose from scanning human's retina. Well, it can be used as a proof for human being but we must also think if it was also a very sensitive data. It sounds weird to see some people were calling it as a digital passport as well. You must be careful when dealing with this kind of tokens.

A lot of allocations will be going to the users but the problem is still remain the same as there are so many people wanna try to get reward and dump it to the market. The current circulating supply was around 100 millions while the total supply was 10 billions.

The price will be adjusting itself to the circulating supply. The chance for the price to decrease in the future is very high. The price is quite high due to the hype.

This is true. I see honesty in your reply. About the regulators spending time to examine, I think that doesn't mean that the project won't survive.
But about the circulating supply, you are very right. The more it circulates, the more the price adjust it self to the circulating supply even if the demand is high. Seems I will be more careful interacting with the coin for now till I see much circulation and no regulation.
This might not be the case but until the SEC is on the investigation, we can't assure the safety of investing in this as we never know yet the results because what if they fail and seize the project? It is very important to invest in projects that we know it was at least safe and have no SEC issue because that determines the potentiality of the project and most of all, we can really think that it has a bright future. Because even if it was a billionaire or connected to a known personality, that was not enough to measure that it will succeed, many were still turn to a scams.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: July 26, 2023, 12:31:28 PM
Unfortunately, still not this time as Mags continue the domination, that second half run brings them the lead that covers the handicap, lucky for those who manage to pick them up during a live game for sure there are good changes while the game is ongoing, there're some instances that Phoenix manage to take the lead but then again Mags showcase their talents and not to allow any possibility that Phoenix will going to disappoint them.

Magnolia Hotshots seems to be so serious on their PBA on-tour campaign as they continue to dominate and blew opponents out and they still manage to cover that huge spread. I thought that I will win my bet as it appears like Phoenix is fighting hard but Magnolia had a good run in the fourth that ruined my night.

Games for tomorrow:

Dyip vs Magnolia
NLEX vs TNT

Wonder what would be the spread on the first game.

The odds are already out. Magnolia is -15.5 and only 1.03 if you bet on the moneyline. On the other game, NLEX is -14.5, while 1.02 for the moneyline. Both teams are heavy favorites, so it's not worth taking the ML, but if you trust they'll dominate, that high spread is going to be attractive.

However, if you want to play for fun, you can parlay both underdogs and get a total odds of 82.56.

Magnolia still won the game and covered the spread. However, the game between TNT and NLEX is quite interesting because TNT is currently leading, though only by a single-digit margin. It could go either way, but if a bettor risked money on the game, I'm sure the kind of thrill they are experiencing now is enormous.

The current score is 62-61, and we are in the 3rd quarter.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: July 26, 2023, 11:40:11 AM
I have full confidence in Inuoe that he will dismantle Tapales with his punches and that will make him win easily. He is a brave fighter. Tapales might be bigger but that is not what we consider,if you watch the victory of Inoue over Fulton yesterday, you will know that he will be the winner in November 20. Tapales sluggish moves isn't good enough to knock Inuoe out of his way to be the champion. I will bet on Inuoe because it is a sure win. The Filipino might still prove us wrong if he can withstand and win the fight.
There's no question that this scenario is likely for the fight, but I admire the courage of Tapales for challenging Inoue. He is not afraid to taste the power of Inoue and has confidence in himself. Being Filipino, he will not talk trash to Inoue; instead, he will train hard and try to find a way to upset the heavy favorite, Inoue.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 25, 2023, 11:04:24 AM
The main event is coming up next; you should find ways to watch the game so you will not miss a good fight. I'm wondering if Inoue is still the same, or Fulton would be able to find a way to give Inoue his first defeat. For Fulton to win, it should be via KO, as he can never win the judges in Japan, even if he is the defending champion. It's a tough battle for him.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 25, 2023, 10:25:53 AM
Yeah, and as Paul George, shout out to WB for taking the minimum just to stay with the Clippers at least for this year.

No, he will stay for 2 years as that's what his contract says.

Quote
Free agent Russell Westbrook has agreed on a two-year, nearly $8M deal
https://www.nba.com/news/russell-westbrook-2023-free-agency

If he cannot make it next season, he still has one more season to help the Clippers win a championship. I think it's possible as long as Leonard stays healthy. Actually, even without PG, Leonard and Westbrook would already be enough to lead the team.
And that might be the biggest decision by WB in his career, take the pay cut, and still play high level basketball and help the Clippers to win a ring and he will also be in NBA history, for taking the biggest risk.

As compare to let's say Oladipo or Dennis Schröder by declining a huge contract and then later on signing for lesser money. But in this case, WB is on the opposite end of the spectrum and it could paid off.

Westbrook can receive a lower salary as he already made a lot of money during his time with OKC. On the other hand, in the cases of Oladipo and Dennis Schröder, they were at their best when the contract was offered, but they gambled and got a bit greedy, looking for bigger offers. Unfortunately, it didn't happen, and for sure, they regretted that decision.
898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Advise People To Stake? on: July 22, 2023, 08:42:36 PM

As far as I can tell, the annual return stays at 17.66% for the duration.
Is there any drawback I'm missing?
Why don't people just buy Cryptos that they can stake?
Honestly, people don't take this staking option as the best thing to do because it was too risky in the first place. Whatever happens to the exchange where you stake your coin, you will also suffer possible losses. If you are very concerned about the safety of your funds, you will not do that but instead, just keep it in your personal wallet.

They offer a 17.66% annual return. It was big enough to consider but I'm not sure how reliable it was because based on my experience the usual offer won't go far above 5%.
899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I avoid and identify scams? on: July 22, 2023, 12:11:09 PM
Am not much familiar with cryptocurrency, and that's why I need more guidance so that if eventual I see one, I will know how to handle it, this will help me to have a good knowledge on the path to settle for.
The best step to avoid scams is to avoid investing in new projects. Because no matter how convincing the project looks, we will not know for sure if it is really legit or just a scam. because all this time, more and more scammers are making their scam projects as if they look very legit. In fact, they also have hundreds of thousands of followers on their social media which are quite active. What's more, there is not only the danger of scam projects but also projects that are easy to pull out, this is because of the hype. So don't get hooked on the hype project too easily. Or, also avoid investing in platforms that look too good to be true, let alone promise super high profits in a short time, this is also one of the characteristics of a scam.
That is the very first thing to do and we have to anticipate the situation that new projects often turn a scam. In fact, there are a lot of promising projects that we know already and I don't think we have to risk investing in new projects. However, we can't just disclose the fact that because of the influence of known personalities, many individuals get fooled by such promising words and invested in the wrong projects believing that it was a good investment as was been said by the promoters.
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 22, 2023, 11:38:14 AM
I'm not a rich person, but I have sufficient money to gamble.

If I don't have sufficient money which I used for gambling, it's mean I gamble for making more money. This is not good because if the result I'm not making any money, I will felt remorse after gambling.

We as a gambler should gamble when we already have sufficient money, don't force yourself to always gamble every week even though your income aren't stable enough.
As a gambler, we must also know how to limit our expenses in gambling. Not because we have sufficient money we can gamble our whole life and not manage our limitations because even if you have thousands of millions today, it will drain fast for sure. So before it happens, we have to be sure that still we are in our control and never think that we have a lot of money to spend but must to stick the limit otherwise, this will lead to getting poor.
We should help ourselves to become responsible gamblers.
