This worries me, I remember that when Garoppolo was at NE he got injured when he replaced Brady and I just thought it was bad luck, but then when the four game suspension came and he got injured again in a regular football play I immediately thought he was too frail.

Well, he's been here for four full years, and only played all 16 games in only two of them.  I'd say I have to agree with the assessment of "frail."  It is concerning, but again, if he can stay healthy I think we have a better chance at making the playoffs than we had with the kid.

Lance and Shanahan want to play a very physical form of football and the fact he got injured so soon after a play which looks like the hundreds we see every week should be a cause of concern, maybe the kid was unlucky but I do not like what it could mean for the long term prospects of Lance's carrer.

Shanahan wants an O-Line like the Patriots, and QB like Mahomes.  Unfortunately, Lance seems to have the same build as Mahomes, but not the same ability, nor the experience.  Maybe he'll come back and make me wrong, at least I hope so.

Niners will trade Lance to Atlanta for a high draft pick, and draft a new QB.
Just throwing it out there for a chance to say "I told you so" if any of this happens.

What makes you think that he couldn't just continue the project while brazenly ignoring the threats?
They have stated in their announcements that there were no threats. There was no pressure from any government agency to start blacklisting anything. They were not given a deadline to start blacklisting UTXOs or face sanctions otherwise. It was their decision to take this route. That's what they said at least. They might be lying about not being put under pressure, but I don't see why they would do that unless it's part of a deal. At least if a government agency came knocking on their door, they could use that as a bad excuse. The way things stand right now, they have no excuse and they started all this drama on their own.
This is pure speculation, but if I'm honest, I don't fully buy it that there were no threats. They declared it repeatedly and I do hold them accountable for that, but in other circumstances (Twitter comments and such) I get the feeling they're not 100% honest. If it was part of the deal to lie about it, statements like 'otherwise we had to shut it down' make more sense.

I'm not so quick to doubt the Wasabi team that there were no "threats."  From my personal experience with the feds, they don't play the bad-cop roll and they don't lead with threats.  Usually they play the long game, and try to get folks to comply on their own.  If nopara73 was contacted by the feds, I would be willing to wager that he wouldn't describe the encounter as "threatening."  Of course this is all pure speculation, there's no evidence the feds did contact Wasabi.

Gabe Davis seems to be out.
Yahoo today: DaVIs wAs NoT eXpeCTeD tO PLaY oN mOnDAy NIgHt.

Well, it looks like Josh Allen has you covered; 4 TDs and 317 yards after three quarters.  I wonder if he'll play anymore, this one just needs the fork.

That's got to be embarrassing for the Titans after taking the top seed last year.  Losing to the Giants last week had to hurt, but at least that was a close game (and the Giants are better than they look on paper.)  But even at the hands of a top team, getting spanked like this should be a wakeup call.

In the other game, Minnesota is stinking it up pretty bad too, but at least the score isn't insurmountable.

Edit: CC has their IBCO page where they're looking for investors (revenue-sharing partners), but I don't see where they've laid out a goal of how much bitcoin they're trying to raise.  Maybe I need more coffee--and I also haven't re-read their website, either.

When I was approached to assist with escrow I was told the goal was to raise a specific dollar amount (expressed in USD) that is less than 1BTC, even at today's price.  But for some, I guess it's easier to shitpost hate, stupidity, and dumb questions directed at sockpuppeting trolls.  Those answers can be found by reading the website, which (by design) is easy to find.
925  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 is Casino Critique on: September 19, 2022, 08:29:12 PM
This thread is a prime example of why I'm getting really tired of the reputation board.  It's gotten to be full of self-important busy-bodies attempting to build their own reputations by besmirching the reputations of others.

To those of you who are concerned about the reputation of CasinoCritique; if you don't like the project, don't invest.  The reason CasinoCritique asked me to assist as an escrow is because he felt that my reputation (along with Hhampuz') would reassure folks that they would not get scammed.  Now, I have one of the signing keys and Hhampuz has another, without at least one us going rogue the funds will make it to where they are destined; i.e. paying for services and the wages of the team members.

What's my involvement?  Just as I described above; I'm holding one of the signing keys.  That's it.  If I'm asked to sign a transaction I will require documentation/invoices/receipts to ensure that the funds aren't being misappropriated.  It's my belief that my integrity and honor are the reasons I was asked in the first place, and if I see anything funny going on with the funds, I will be first to cry foul.  If you trust that at least two members of the Escrow team are not out to scam anyone, then rest assured that the project will not turn into a scam.  That's not the same thing as saying that the project will succeed, that you'll have to assess for yourselves.

As for any speculation to who's behind the CasinoCritique account, you'll just have to keep speculating.  Yes, I do know, but I will not be disclosing that information.  I made a promise to keep it secret, and I intend to honor my word.  But by no means does that mean I will allow a scam to occur under my nose.

It appears presently we have found out why San Francisco should always keep Jimmy Garoppolo hehehe. They should pay him more money. It was a mistake for Jimmy G to accept the pay reduction. Trey Lance might not be the franchise quarterback they want him to become. Justin Fields might have been the better pick for them.

Not sure if you've heard the news, Lance's ankle is broken, he'll be going in for surgery tomorrow, and will miss the remainder of the season.

This is exactly why I don't like it when coaches priorities running ability when evaluating QBs.  I understand that Shanahan has a lot of tricky ticks he wants to run (literally) with a quarterback, but if any risk a broken ankle, they should be thrown out.

Anyway, Jimmy G will make out just fine with his current contract.  The ~$7M was for warming the bench, any playing time comes with incentives.  I can't remember the exact details, but he'll be making significantly more now that he'll likely start the remainder of the season.

I hate to say it, but all of the sudden I'm way more confident about our chances of making the playoffs.

I'm getting spanked bigly. I mean WTF, 26 points for defense, who does that LOL. And then this Green Bay guy running and catching and running. Oh well. Congrats DireWolfM14.

Sorry you're having a bad day.  TBH I expected this very thing to happen, but with the rolls reversed, lol.  Tampa's defense was FF superstar today, a pick-6 does wonders for the fantasy score.  Starting Christian Kirk was a good gamble as well.

I hope it's some consolation that the Lion's aren't winless, and it's only week two!

And as far as grabbing any gems off the giants you won't find any because theor is none lol.  I'm a realist, this was an anomaly to start the year.  They don't have any real good ff impact players on theor squad right now.  But hey who knows right:)

Saquon is keeper I think, but yeah, can't really think of any others, lol.  Nice win today, though, it's good to see the Giants undefeated, I hope it continues.  For some reason it always seemed extra exciting whenever the Niners and the Giants met in the Playoffs.  Not that it's likely to happen this year, but it would be fun.
927  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bet - Will major CEX do 'off chain' LUNC burns on: September 18, 2022, 10:32:04 PM
Noting only for future reference at this time:

In the last 24 hours Fatman has informed me, for the first time, that he intends to initiate a dispute in respect of the application of clause 3, should application of the clause become necessary.

Specifically he has indicated that he intends to claim victory, and full payment of the bet, should the tax be reduced by LUNC governance vote below the 0.9% threshold, or cancelled entirely, between 20/09/2022 and 01/01/2023. I strongly object to this and maintain it is an attempt to alter the original agreement. As such, there is a possible dispute looming.

No further action is required right now. At this moment it is possible (and my strong hope) that the bet can be concluded without needing to 'test' the application of clause 3. This will be the case if the tax is not reduced below 0.9% or cancelled by LUNC governance before 01/01/2023. Fatman has confirmed today that there remains agreement between us in respect of all other clauses.

I want to highight clause 6 which states:

Quote
6. In the event of a dispute, the escrow provider will determine the ‘winner’ on their sole discretion but must rely on this agreement as the sole basis for their decision.
[emphasis added]

In the event of dispute, escrow providers should rely on the original terms as the "sole basis for their decision" without taking further submissions from Fatman or myself.

I regret that it seems necessary to note this item at this time.

Thank you

928  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Guide] Easy to build bitcoin ATM - Includes Bill Collector on: September 18, 2022, 06:30:10 PM
If I do I would keep it simple and cheap, since I'm not sure it would get much use.  One way to cut down on costs and still keep it fun is eliminate the bill counter.
You mean without bill counter such that the user just inputs how much cash they threw in, manually for instance?
I think it takes away from the experience a little bit, but technically fine in the office / home type scenarios that we are both considering. Maybe the bill counter can also be sourced for cheaper, not sure about that.

I meant just the fiat coin receptacle, but not the bill receptacle.  It would still be fun, and effectively just provide family, friends, and coworkers a way to prevent their pockets from jingling.  Some might even decide to cash in their entire coin jar.  The optics of it might also be less intimidating if there's no way to collect larger sums of cash.  Of course there's more risk of running into dust limits, but that can also be a coaching opportunity.

929  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Ukrainian supermarket chain to accept cryptocurrencies through binance pay on: September 18, 2022, 02:24:31 AM
Not everyone realize importance of decentralization or downside of using 3rd party to accept cryptocurrency. So it's not surprising this supermarket decide to Binance Pay since Binance is one of popular cryptocurrency company. But if this part of the news is accurate, then they don't really accept cryptocurrency.

To take advantage of the payment option, crypto owners will have to download and install the Binance app on their Android or iOS devices. Then, they can go to the Varus website, select the products they want to buy and send the digital money from the Binance Pay wallet.

I can almost understand a retail business using a centralized service to process crypto payment, it makes a lot of sense for most people who don't have the technical capability to host their own systems.  If they're accepting credit cards, they already are using a centralized service, so for the uninitiated it must seem like the natural thing to do.

But, to contract with a centralized payment processing service that requires your customers to download an app, and create an account?  I don't care if it's for crypto or not, that just seems silly.  No one is going to so much trouble just use an alternate payment method when there are more convenient options.  It makes think that the people running that grocery store know absolutely nothing about crypto, but maybe they know a thing or two about marketing.  Wink

I also find it strange that Biniance offers such a service.  I mean, I wouldn't put it past them, but it seems like they would know better.

Oakland A's? They were pretty exciting when Rollie Fingers and Catfish Hunter were around.

Yeah, that's them.  I've never been much of a baseball fan, and most of my family and friends who are usually pull for the Giants.  Since they're still bitter about '89 I guess I'm biased for them, lol.

Was your sound out of synch?  My skynet has been acting up lately.  It's probably just becoming sentient.
No, it was fine... probably just interference from the NSA watching the game alongside you.

Already been probed by the DOJ and the FBI, I guess there's no use leaving the NSA out of the fun.  Lips sealed

Great QB matchup, was a heck of a game.

It was a good game, fun matchup with the two QBs and the division rivalry.

Speaking of streams.. I was able to find one for last nights game in a Football discord group I’m in, but does anyone have a good reliable source for the Prime Thursday night games going forward?

Hueristic posted some links around the beginning of pre-season, those might work.
931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Umbrel — Discussion, issues, solutions on: September 16, 2022, 04:42:46 PM
Just did a test with a node in a box that I was going to re-image anyway. RPi4, 4GB, SSD.

That actually brings up a good point.  I've never plugged a hard drive directly into my RPi, just mounted SSD NAS directory to use for the blockchain data.  One time I even tried mounting the NAS directory at /var/lib, but still no joy.  Every time I've tried I would allow bitdoind to fully synch the blockchain before installing ElectrumX.  Most of the time the system would become unusable while synchronizing ElectrumX.  One time I got ElectrumX fully synchronized but it crashed shortly after that.  That's when I finally gave up.

I have a couple of servers (enterprise hardware) collecting dust in my garage, which I've been planning to spin up soon.  One has two Xeon processors and 64GB of ram, which I plan to set up with three or four VMs to do do most of the stuff I've currently got running on the Dells and the RPi.  I just been dragging my feet because I don't have a rack to house them in at the moment.

Looked pretty touch-and-go with Herbert there for a minute, like he might have suffered some sort of rib injury, but then he managed to shake it off. If he were older, he woulda been out for the rest of the game, and maybe one or two more after that...

That was my fear at first too, but on the replay it looked more like a punch to the gut.  On Herbert's following snap the defender reached around from behind him and targeted that area, lol.

Was excited by the prospects of the Chargers beating KC at home, but alas it was not in the cards.

Never considered that a possibility, tbh.  I should have put money on it when were they down 10-0 in the first half.

Pretty stoked with Amazon Prime's Thursday Night Football, much higher quality than the average unauthorized stream.

That was the only way I could watch it.  It was supposed to be on fox, but I guess some fucking MLB team that nobody cares about called the Oakland Athletics or some shit was taking precidence in my market.  I couldn't find it anywhere on YTTV.

Was your sound out of synch?  My skynet has been acting up lately.  It's probably just becoming sentient.
936  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Received Bitcoins were instantly gone on: September 16, 2022, 01:12:58 AM
~

That is quite interesting, because the OP also made it sound like it was instant;

I sent some bitcoin to my electrum wallet as soon as they appeared in there as unconfirmed there appeared a secound payment order.

I don't use blockchain, and haven't in a while.  What a shitshow their front page for the explorer has become.  Anyway, I used mempool.space, blockstream, and blockchair, (and a locally hosted mempool as well,) they all show the timestamp of both transactions as 17:30 UTC.

ETA; I just noticed that the Blockstream specifies the timespamp is indeed that of the block hash.  Blockchain must post the time the transaction was broadcast, but it's possible that it doesn't treat a  transaction with ab unconfirmed parent the same way.
937  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Suite will add a CoinJoin mixing protocol on: September 15, 2022, 09:50:50 PM
I never said Bisq has servers, but you still need to have some level of trust with anything you use.

Not to get too far into the weeds, but there's very little trust required to use bisq other than having to trust that selling bitcoin for fiat won't result in a charge-back.  But that requires trusting the other trader, not the software.

You can't really know that anything you use is not spying on you all the time, so it's not fair to claim this only for wasabi wallet.

There is the fact that Wasabi admitted they will be scrutinizing your UTXOs for taint.  The term "spying" may be a bit of an overreach when it comes to Wasabi themselves, but if they decide many of your UTXOs are not to their liking, they'll have enough information about your wallet that can be provided to the authorities who can possibly use that information to determine your true identity.

Everyday smartphone is 100% spying device, yet nobody seems to mind using them all the time.

When I'm hunting deer I turn my phone off because I don't want Google executives knowing about my honey hole.  Tongue

Well, Trezor builds hardware wallets, and Wasabi is a coinjoin coordinator, those facts we know.  My sharply honed powers of observation leaves me with little to surmise other than Trezor plans to integrate zksnacks' coin-join into Trezor Suite.  Call me simple.
Wrong.
Wasabi is not coordinator.
zkSNACKs is coordinator.

Okay, so I conflated the two entities, but lets not argue about semantics.  We both know they're essentially one in the same.  I suppose it's possible that Trezor doesn't want to maintain Trezor Suite going forward, and would rather promote Wasabi as their official wallet, but I doubt that's the case.  Even if that was the case, the end result would essentially be the same thing, i.e Trezor's official wallet including zksnaks' coin-join coordinator.
938  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Received Bitcoins were instantly gone on: September 15, 2022, 07:33:35 PM
Not sure if the script is the culprit here. The outgoing transaction is 10 minutes after the incoming one. Scripts are usually activated immediately after the first confirmation. I still think that someone made a manual transaction after receiving notification about the incoming transaction. The OP may have some spyware on his/her computer, or the private key (seed phrase) was leaked in some other way. But of course, it is impossible to know for sure.

What makes you think it took ten minutes for the scam transaction to be initiated?  To me it looks like it was generated instantly after the OP's wallet received the Tx.

I checked three different block explorers and they all show the two transactions with identical timestamps.
939  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: buying BTC as big amount on: September 15, 2022, 04:02:26 PM
If you're legit, want to avoid KYC, and want to preserve your privacy use Bisq.network.  You won't be able to trade in one transaction, and it'll take at least 30 days for your account limits to be lifted, but it's probably the safest way to trade fiat for bitcoin without KYC.
940  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Received Bitcoins were instantly gone on: September 15, 2022, 03:27:21 PM
It was sent to this adress: bc1qzwmd424kpgdl6n57fe8cxlre9v3e2jwzcgxl53
Dont know if this is safe to share: https://blockstream.info/tx/1d7e75d00847a550983185c6cd3ceb011f5ad5daefd81f62f38fef061482ff00

The only danger in sharing the information above is breaching your privacy, no security risks exist.

But I did notice a clue that's tells me you got scammed somehow; the fee rate that was applied to the outbound transaction:

227 sats per v-Byte is a huge overpayment on fees.  It's a typical tactic used by scammer scripts that force huge fees to make sure the scam transaction gets confirmed in the next block, and prevents the victim from double spending the transaction in an attempt to thwart the theft.

I also see that you've used the same address as recently as last month with no ill affects.  That makes me think that something on your system must have changed after August 21.  Do you recall installing any new software, or making some adjustments to your OS in the past few weeks?
