961  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is not going to $12k. on: August 29, 2023, 03:43:52 PM
Ever since Bitcoin went above $10,000 a few months after that pandemic crash back in March of 2020, I knew it already that it will be the last time we will be seeing Bitcoin's price at near the $10,000 price.

Though anything is still possible, the chances of Bitcoin going down to $12,000 or even $10,000 are very low to near to zero. I mean the Blackrock filing for a spot ETF alone is enough already to tell that it will not reach that price again, but on the other hand, it might still happen if the filing will be rejected most probably next year. This filing is kind of like "we reach $100,000 in no time, or we go lower than the lows of 2022 at $17,000, and we might reach $12,000 if it gets rejected".

Overall, whatever the data we share here, whatever the charts we share here, whatever videos we share, all of us are just speculating because after all, we don't know what can happen to Bitcoin's price. Yes we can speculate base on history, but the truth is, there's always a chance for the other thing to happen. It's all a probability, not a certainty. As for Bitcoin going to $12,000, I guess Blackrock's filing get ejected is enough to put it down to that price again, or a series of negative news that have a huge impact towards investors might bring the price down to $10,000-$12,000 "AGAIN".
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trustworthy Sites Where Someone Can Work And Earn Reasonable Amount Of Bitcoin. on: August 29, 2023, 03:16:45 PM
l have been into bitcoin for a while now, buying and selling bitcoin, in addition to working in some sites, posting, air views, and earning reasonable amount of bitcoin. Recently, it's like some of those sites have closed down, while the remaining ones are paying little or no bitcoin. Can anyone tell me some trustworthy sites, where someone can work and earn reasonable amount of bitcoin?
The only 2 websites that I believe can give you a "reasonable amount of Bitcoin" is the freelancing website called freelancer.com, and this forum itself bitcointalk.org.

The first website is self-explanatory. Just register there, and if you have a skill that you can offer online then apply for different jobs there, and you can get paid thru Bitcoin or whatever currency you wanted to. I think I don't need to explain as well in the 2nd website because I believe that you know it already. Join in a signature campaign that pays their participants Bitcoin.

There's a third one, and that is thru trading. Wait. I've also bookmarked a thread here regarding websites where you can be a freelancer, and you can offer your skill online. Here's the link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5457166.0. I don't know though if the websites that've been shared here are "trustworthy".
963  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just Learnt About A Major Risk Involved In Stable Coins on: August 29, 2023, 08:44:33 AM
This forum is really helpful I must confess. I never knew about Pegging and Depegging. But after my previous post on whether to save in stable coins or my local currency, I got to know that even stable coins have their own risks involved, in which Depegging is one of the major risks

I'm very happy I asked the question and other users really responded very well. All the responses were really helpful. I think other newbies like myself learned a lot from the replies.

In general, all of the investments have risks, and stable coins aren't an exception to it.

Depegging is only one of the risks of stablecoins. Centralization is also one of the risks of it since most of the stable coins right now have a central authority. I mean that's very risky, and the best example for that is Terra Luna's UST. One single glitch on the project, investors took advantage of it, and boom UST de-pegged for a few days. Many still expecting that it will go back to a dollar, but when they saw that it has been days, and it hasn't been returned to that price, they knew the whole project is F*cked already. Another one is Tether whose been into a lot of controversies, but within the last years, I haven't hear any problem with them anymore.

TBH, I don't know the reason why there are some investors who are holding stable coins. I mean if they want to get profit then at least invest into volatile cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin right? Can please share some reasons as to why there are some investors who are hodling some stable coins.
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 29, 2023, 07:35:14 AM
Curry and Giannis would definitely pose a threat to other superteams. Even the Suns, I don't think, could defeat the Warriors in the playoffs. Giannis improves when the players around him contribute to securing a win.
There's shooting outside and take it inside for Giannis, this is a monster duo, to be honest. So with all the rumors rotating that Giannis has some plans to exit the Bucks are going to be a pain in the ass of the team. His being an asset to the team would hardly be replaced by any other star. These two are always hungry to take the title for every season and that will push them for more.

He will have less weight on his shoulders, as Curry, an MVP himself, can also carry the team. I would like to see this happen, as it would bring back the unstoppable Warriors.
He'll have someone who can he rely to and there's no doubt with that. Both have their own championship experiences and became champions so a combination of that and relying to each other's strength will definitely something big to get troubled with by other teams.
I have been a Warrior fan ever since their dynasty started way back when they and the Cavaliers with Lebron are facing the NBA Finals 4x.

Regarding this scenario, it will never happen. Like I said, the Warriors don't have assets that are worthy to be traded in exchange for Giannis. Come to think of it. Who will be the players that will the Warriors will give just to get Giannis? Another one is that, will the Bucks want those players? The Warriors having Giannis is a dream come true for the Warriors fans because just think of how Steph and Giannis would be together, but in reality, this will stay as as dream because it will not happen.

Take note as well that the Warriors don't have cap space to sign him. Unless Giannis is willing to take a low salary for the sake of a championship (which is for me will not happen), then that's the only way for him to be going to the Warriors.
965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some smart guy converted $1000 to 1 million in one day with $BALD coin on: August 29, 2023, 07:11:04 AM
It's not smart.

It's called (Insider-Trading) he got early-information about the listing. Fun-fact, my self working as moderator we got some early information as well for the project I was manage to hit listing on exchange.

I can buy the token before listing on the new exchange. So, this one it's not smart just because he got insider-information and make him (insider-trading).
I'll be leaning to this one instead of the fact that he's just lucky, but thinking which has a higher chance of it to happen, I think having an insider is more feasible than the investor just being lucky. Being lucky in investing into projects like this is like 1 in a million.

I remembered when I joined in a bounty campaign back in 2018, I manage to join a channel for a particular project where they are sharing the updates there earlier. It's like an inside-trading channel. I manage to maximize it as well gaining profits selling their tokens, but at the same time I feel bad for those investors, and those who joined in their bounty campaign that isn't on that channel because they are already at a loss because developers already sold their tokens way earlier.

Anyway, I don't believe that the person who manage to x1000 his 1000$ isn't lucky, but he has access to an inside-trading channel like you said. To those who are believing that the guy is lucky, wake up, and think that it's almost impossible to happen.
966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop Events, Testnet Events is not an investment! on: August 29, 2023, 06:47:42 AM
I've participated in several airdrops. And it's great when you get paid even if it's just a few dollars. But since I have to do KYC and the tasks are quite difficult, I think Airdrop is no longer relevant.
And for influencers it is very necessary to educate their followers about what they are promoting. Even need to tell that this testnet is not paid. I think openness is important here.
If you have done sei testnet and linea for sure it will be understand the frustrations on sei community since it takes a lot of time to do the tasks and that took like more than 10 months. Then youll received few $, a lot of my friends did the sei anf completed it. Some of them say, they wont do any hard testnet anymore due to the kind of rewards they did received.
TBH, I'm thinking of joining in these testnets because of the threads you've created regarding these projects that are doing some testnets etc. but after seeing this one, I think I will be back in the part where I'll be hesitant in doing it again. I mean we only have limited time, and we are maximizing it, and trying to use it to gain some money, and yet they are being rewarded with a small amount dollars. It isn't worth it.

As for the influencers, they don't care if we as followers are getting scammed either buy spending money or spending time into the projects that they're promoting as long as they are getting paid in advertising that project. Who cares about us? They're the least ones that will care about us. There might be some who are educating, but it's more of an advertising. As for airdrop events, and testnet events as an investment, it's still an investment. You didn't invest money doing it, but you did invest time so that you can earn free money.

Speaking of free money, those who are joining these kind of activities more often must lower their expectations. There's no free lunch here.
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify shitcoins? on: August 29, 2023, 06:17:18 AM
Name is kind of connected to the ones that are counted as a scam project in the past.
Total supply of coins is around Billions
The pictures of developers in their official website is an AI-generated logo of whatever it is for ex. dogs, or animated picture of a person etc.
Some uses the word "guarantee" or any word that attracts investors. Some are giving high APY when you stake their coin.
Some also uses the word "in every transaction, some of the coins will be burned to decrease it's supply. This is mostly being used in meme coins.

I believe that there are some more, but these are the ones that I know. TBH, it's very easy to distinguish already which are shitcoins, and which are not. Just focus on Bitcoin, and Ethereum. They aren't shitcoins at all. Cheesy
968  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to smell fraud in projects and detect Ponzi schemes from far as a Newbie on: August 28, 2023, 03:05:05 PM
A good post that's been put on Beginners & Help section, and this thread will at least help those beginners out there on what thing should they avoid when they're investing.

TBH, aside from the videos that I'm watching on Youtube regarding tips, and tricks to know when a project is a scam or not, this forum also helped me a lot especially with these kind of threads. That was back when I was a newbie in investing, and it's still good to see some users sharing tips and tricks to other newbies. These are only some of the things that we need to watch out for whenever we are investing, and there are many more factors.

~
you will get one or two pieces of evidence to avoid them if you are not greedy, remember a safe investment is a safe mental health and safe future.
Whatever happens, there will, and will always be people who will become greedy especially when it comes to money. That's why even though we are constantly giving warnings, advices, tips and tricks, and signs to these investors, it will all be useless when they become greedy. There's a famous quote that says "When Emotions are high, Intelligence is Low." Sometimes, these investors aren't thinking anymore whenever they see a project that's giving high APR to the investors.

I just want to say thanks to the OP for saying the text that I bolded. I have been experiencing many problems on a daily basis like most of the people out here, and I don't want to add investing into my problems that's why I'm focusing more on safer investments than those risky ones because I don't want investing in general be another problem for me. Maybe me experiencing being depressed is also one of the reason why I want to focus more on safer investments since I want to focus on my mental health more.
969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When to invest in bitcoin on: August 28, 2023, 02:25:19 PM
Bitcoin is good asset when you know exactly when to invest in bitcoin,
You can say that it's good since it can give you profits right? What if you lose money investing into it? You will call Bitcoin a bad asset then? I don't know, but the 2 parts aren't correlated with each other. I mean is thee term "Good Asset" or "Bad Asset" ever been used? What's a definition of a good or bad asset? Enlighten me with this one please.

Re: When to invest in bitcoin
Anyway, I will answer this one base on what I know.

The best time to invest into Bitcoin is "Anytime" except when Bitcoin is on a bull run. Bull run isn't a time for investors to invest, but a time to sell your assets. The best time to invest into Bitcoin is during the bear market, and the year after the bear market. 2022 is considered a good year to invest into Bitcoin because it's a bear market. This year 2023 can still be considered a good time to invest into Bitcoin because it's price is still considered below. Best time to sell will be during the bull which will happen a few years from now.
970  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH LESS MONEY? on: August 28, 2023, 01:40:58 PM
~
If you have a modest amount, let's say $150 a month to invest, here's a mindset to consider:

Maximize Risk-Taking:
Go for meme plays x10 or x100, or even lose it all. Take huge futures leverages. In the worst-case scenario, you might lose everything, but if you win, your $150 could turn into $1,500 or even $15,000.

Full-On Portfolio:
For you, diversification might not be the key. Go all in on a project. With less money, you need to make a big impact. Going all in could be a life-changer.

Farming Airdrops:
Rolling rewards are also quite smooth. Focus on L2 Ethereum solutions.

WORK to Earn:
Find ways to increase your income. If Grab/Ubers isn't enough, go do some grunt work or community management. Maybe you'll make $50/month and chuckle about it. 🤣
Between the 4 things that you said, the only thing that I did in my whole crypto journey was the 4th one. I did work to earn some money, and still doing it today.

For the first one, it's a hit or miss. It's either you will either become a millionaire or a loser at all. TBH, this is more risky than gambling because investing into meme coins have little to no chance of winning while if you are gambling, you have at least a higher chance of winning especially if you are knowledgeable on the particular sport/bet that you are doing. Personally, I don't recommend this one especially for the newbies out there... but it's your money so you have the final decision.

As for the 2nd one, I get the point, and I agree with it. There's no point in diversifying your money into different assets if you have a low budget on investing. You can't maximize your profits if you spread your money too much. There's nothing wrong with it, but there's a limitation on diversifying your money.

As for the 3rd one, TBH I tried this one, but it's harder than I thought. You spend time participating in these airdrops, and you don't even know if you are eligible for the airdrop or not. There are also times where you are doing the certain tasks that they're requiring, and yet you aren't eligible. Overall, there's nothing wrong with participating in airdrops especially if you didn't invest any money, but these airdrops are like "one in every 100 new projects".
971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here is a tight slap to bitcoin haters on: August 28, 2023, 01:05:04 PM
I recently found this cool website

https://buybitcoinworldwide.com/bitcoin-is-dead/

It has listed 20 occasions when bitcoin was declared dead by leading publications in the past and every time bitcoin came back stronger. So , next time if some popular news website tells you that bitcoin is dead, do not trust it blindly. Bitcoin still has lot of scope for growth and adoption.
It wasn't only 20, but it was 385 (Show 365+ more button).

Do I expect more in the future? Hell yeah especially from Peter Schiff who's been an anti-Bitcoin ever since. Him and many more anti-Bitcoin out there will just spit out shitty words saying "Bitcoin is dead", or "Bitcoin will not recover" blah blah blah. On the other hand, we are slowly gaining profits because of Bitcoin, and those anti-Bitcoin will slowly realize that they are in the wrong side of the coin therefore, they will go to the other side, and will support Bitcoin.

I expect more of these in the future. More negative articles, more negative tweets, more negative speculations about Bitcoin. We've heard it numerous time already throughout the past decade or more, but here we are seeing Bitcoin going up, and up, and up though it wasn't a smooth road, the price movement says it all. Smiley I just hope that I will encounter a person here in my place that's anti-Bitcoin, and I will slap him/her with the truth. Cheesy
972  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: August 28, 2023, 07:32:36 AM
What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? Will you give up all your investments and get out of crypto because of this ? Or do you you have even more broader horizon and can wait longer to see the next bull run ?

Personally, I am very much positive with bitcoin future but we should also be prepared for all situations. Nothing can be guarantee in present times and we must also be prepared for worst situations.
No I will not... for now.
I mean it all depends on different circumstances. I might be saying that I might not giving it up right now, but when emergency comes, and I need to sell all of my assets to cover it up, I might do it if needed. I mean it's very subjective, and situational because we don't know what might happen in the future.

Like I said, I will not give up my investments just because there are no bull run for the next 10 years, but if worst thing happens, I might do so. In the end, if that scenario happens, I will still buy Bitcoin whatever the price is. Reality is, what OP is saying will not happen because market moves in cycles, and the crypto market is experiencing a bull run once or twice in the span of 10 years.
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting btc of tuitions payments for College/students? on: August 28, 2023, 06:59:27 AM
Is it possible in future students to pay tuition with cryptocurrency like btc or another. As we all know that only stable money can run a country, moreover btc price is unstable so you can't do that even if you want to.
It's hard, but still possible.
I mean if the university will accept it then I guess there's nothing wrong. Aside from that, if the teachers will accept being paid thru Bitcoin then it's good, but I doubt that all of them will agree into it.

Universities don't want to make risks because we know that Bitcoin's volatile, and because of it, they might incur losses instead of just being paid thru fiat. Right now, I doubt that there will be many universities that will accept crypto, and there's no universities/colleges here in our country that are accepting Bitcoin as payment for the student's tuition fees.
974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto scam: A retired correction officer charged as defrauded $600,000 on: August 28, 2023, 06:43:48 AM

It told potential investors that they were getting a return of more than 20% with zero risk and misled them with several false statements, including saying that the coin was approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission as well. and it will be available for purchase in the main. stock exchange. authorities said.
20% return? Reminded me of Terra Luna's staking where they are giving 20% as well.
Zero Risk? All of the investments have risks. Even the ones who are being considered "one of the safest" investments still have risks.

I feel very disappointed for these investors because they fell for the fact that they've said that the coin has been approved by SEC because they will not fall into this kind of scam attempt if they just spend a few minutes of their time making some research. I mean with the 2 things that I said above is enough already that the investment is a scam. Who in the hell will give 20% return to it's investors, and take note that it has 0 risk. That phrase is the most absurd phrase that I've ever heard when it comes to investing. 0 RISK? Funny, but hey... it works because many fell for it. Cheesy

Overall, I always believe that investors will not learn if they will not experience it, so sometimes, seeing them being scammed for the first time is a good thing because they know it already thus, they know what they need to do in the future. Getting scammed once is still ok, but getting scammed twice then you have a problem already.
975  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Copy trading and Mirror trading. on: August 25, 2023, 07:32:46 AM
I tried to find the word "Bitget" in the OP's post because in the last couple of days, users who are promoting Bitget often uses the word copy-trading in their thread.
Kidding aside, it's my first time to hear the term "Mirror Trading", and thanks OP for sharing it to us.

Nevertheless, I will not do either of the 2. I'd prefer having my own strategy that works fine with me when I'm trading. Unfortunately, I'm not successful in trading because of my decisions, but... nahhh I will do it again, and again until I become a successful one. I will do it without the use of either copy trading or mirror trading because I believe these 2 are for those aspiring traders who don't want to go the hard way, but instead they want to just throw their money, copy those expert traders, and hoping that they will gain profit thru them which is a completely wrong mindset. Both are for those lazy traders who don't want to learn. Anyway thanks OP for sharing a new term. Smiley

Don't say it in front of my face already.  Cry Cheesy Cheesy

I tried trading, and then failed. Stopped for at least 2-3 months, saved some money then do trading again. Same result. Did the cycle at least 3 times, and after that I didn't trade anymore. Currently, I stopped trading already, but will I try trading again in the future? Yes I will, and will lose again. Cheesy Kidding aside, I will try trading again in the future for sure.

Trading really isn't for everyone especially for those who are BI-POLAR who change their mood very easily. Trading isn't for those impatient people as well. Trading isn't for those who can't control their emotions as well (like me). Trading isn't for those investors who are thinking way ahead to the point that they want to get X amount of dollars in a short amount of time where in fact, they can't get it. Trading is only for people who has self-control, patience, have knowledge in trading, and for those who are ready to lose money. Cheesy

Kidding aside, I always like to go the safer route which is DCA. Trading can give you more profits in a shorter amount of time, but at the same time, you can lose money doing trading in a shorter amount of time compare to just doing DCA that it takes a long time, but it's safer. Smiley For those who like who tried, and failed multiple times already, come to your senses, and decide whether you still want to do trading or not.
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Airdrop Scam on Trust Wallet via Links on: August 25, 2023, 03:16:21 AM
~
Beginners beware of Airdrops that will redirect you to their website through the provided link around the shiny coins you see on your wallet, where you will be required to fill in informations in other to claim the reward, follow the instructions as provided above and avoid their website as it leads to scam if any information is provided.
It's a very common way of scamming people, but HEY!!! it works because there will be, and will be ignorant investors, and beginners out there who are falling very easily into these kind of traps.
I mean if only, if only they research first before they decide anything that includes their investments, I guess the chances of them getting scammed will be lowered.

I guess it's good that I didn't scammed that much when I was a newbie because I'm very hesitant at that time, and because of being hesitant, I lost many opportunities as well that could've made me a millionaire. Kidding aside, this is a good awareness for those beginners out there that they should think twice or even thrice before joining into these kind of airdrops. I guess it would be better if they will just simply avoid airdrops at all in order for them to prevent getting scammed.
978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 25, 2023, 02:29:45 AM
New York Times is reporting a quote from Giannis Antetokounmpo where he alludes to signing with a new team for the first time ever. Definitely trouble for the Bucks. He’s going to play for them this year, but to me it sounds like he’s preparing them for a departure after the season. If he goes to the Warriors and pairs with Curry, it will be the greatest team ever built.
After that huge blowout loss against the Heat in only 5 games last playoffs, that might've affected Giannis' trust, and faith with the organization, and to the players as well.

I mean you're the top seeded team last season, and you will just get defeated by an 8th seeded team in only 5 games. That's shameful TBH, and that's why he said on the interview "If everybody's not on the same page" is because he don't want to happen what happened last playoffs.

Now regarding him going to the Warriors, who will the Warriors be willing to give up just to get Giannis? I mean I can't think of any players, and TBH I don't think that the either of the team are interested in trading their own players. Bucks aren't interested in any of the Warriors right now, except for maybe Looney, and they don't want Green IMO because he's old already. Overall, I don't see this trade kind of happening in the future, but who knows. Cheesy

I already shared my strategy. Set up a selling price, and stick to it whatever happens.

I understand why you closed your post with that sentence, but really is it right to ignore whatever happens left and right and sell regardless? If you feel and see that the hype is real and backed with reasons that make sense rationally, why wouldn't you adjust your target price then? If some things feel different and maybe the regulatory environment makes a massive turn in favor of Bitcoin specifically, I would definitely adjust my former considerations.
Of course not.

After all, it will depend on the current situation, and I guess since I know how to read charts a little bit, I will also make some adjustments like you said. I said that I will stick to it because I always want to be safe including my profits, and I mean I wanted to make sure that I will take profits this time unlike on the last bull run where I just watched the markets going down where in fact, I'm a few clicking of buttons away from taking it.

Will I adjust my target price? Yes I will, but it will depend on some factors, and circumstances.

Nahhh, as if we don't know that it will happen. What a display of stupidity it is.
I mean for what? For popularity? For hype? For fame?

They might be rich in money, but they aren't rich in knowledge, or in this case they have no mind at all. Sorry for the words, but they are just predicting what's obviously gonna happen. I mean just look at the previous cycles that happened during the past decade. Bear market - Accumulation Phase - Halving - Bull run. It happened already multiple times, and now they are acting like they're intelligent now, making a prediction on something that we as investors, and has been known Bitcoin for a long time that we know will happen a few years from now.
