961  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF - decision 15th May - Time and place on: May 20, 2017, 11:13:08 PM
So what's going on with this now? Are they making a decision? Is it rejected? I can't find anything when searching online so are we supposed to assume that they're just working on it now?
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is the first mainstream CNBC video in defense of bitcoin on: May 20, 2017, 06:22:22 PM
Well it's so obvious that it's a currency so how could you blame it for some hacker? You'd have to be an idiot to think bitcoin is bad because a criminal uses it.
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to deal with the situation of non-recognition? on: May 20, 2017, 06:03:16 PM
If bitcoins are illegal in my country they'll be worth a hell of a lot more. So who cares. If the government makes something as free as bitcoins illegal them they're God damn communists. Ignore all of the bullshit and make your own decisions.
964  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: generate new address in Mycelium (for Bitcoin-Mixer forward address) on: May 20, 2017, 12:58:54 PM
If you just bought some bitcoins with a credit or debit card then mixing them would make sense. It's such a small normal amount too that it would be hard to track.

To make a new wallet in mycelium you just hit the little key with a plus > add HD account. From there it creates an HD address and each time you spend bitcoins a new change address will be created automatically.

Also, I don't think it is helpful to use a mixer in most cases.
Why? from the point of security or from the point of usability?

Thank you very much`!

Joe

It is useful. No idea what he's going on about.
965  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a bubble? When will it burst? on: May 20, 2017, 12:54:46 PM
I'm assuming sometime soon we'll have a bear market for a month or two but after that we'll break new ATH records over and over again. This bull run has been amazing so something has to go wrong soon. Maybe an exchange goes down or satoshi wakes up from his cryogenic chamber and sells off his bitcoins.
966  Economy / Speculation / Re: A new milestone 2000$ on: May 20, 2017, 02:43:06 AM
This should hit some headlines in America. $2000 USD is not for a ponzi, or some experiment. $2000 a piece is for freedom from any governments and freedom to own the people's currency. I'm glad I'm part of this.
967  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius 0.5 Silver sells for a steal on eBay! on: May 20, 2017, 01:07:15 AM
I love how you posted this after the auction ended hahaha. Less competition = lower price am I right...? Oh and auctions for anything always are at the last second. Anything before that is just a joke.
968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How long to wait to receive 1.4BTC on: May 19, 2017, 10:41:23 PM
Import your address on blockchain.info if you have access to your private key and enter as watch only address then click on send and insert prvkey then do as following> 1.3 to send and 0.1 as miner fee to make sure a miner grabs it.
The OP isn't sending, they're receiving.  And you seldom need a fee of 0.001, never mind 0.1.  Maybe you should check yourself first.

Saying any set amount like that is stupid. It totally depends on how many bytes your transaction is. Use the proper terminology.

Are you going to post that transaction ID OP? I saw that you've been online since posting this. It's the only way we can tell you what's going on.

You don't need to worry at all. It is known fact that transactions became slowly in past few weeks and this is associated increase of the size of the commissions. I suppose such situation is going to become usually for all bitcoin users.

Don't post false hope without any hard evidence. He said they may have sent it with no fee. If there's no fee it may never confirm.

970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yet Another Reason to Have Various BTC Wallets on: May 19, 2017, 09:09:53 PM
...
blockchain.info.

Diversifying is smart. Throwing your private key on your front lawn and asking people to please not look at it is not diversifying. In case that didn't get through to you, blockchain.info are thieves so get your money out asap. All Web wallets aren't banks so stop treating th like they are. When your bitcoins get stolen they're gone.
971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transaction almost 24 hours, please help first time this happened on: May 19, 2017, 09:02:05 PM
So I just have to wait until it confirms or is forgotten and sent back to my wallet?

I dont see an option on my wallet app that would allow me to re-spend, it is the blockchain app. Does anyone know how to do a CPFP or RBF on blockchain?

I think it's just desktops that can do the RBF/CPFP double spends.
And it should be returned to you once it stops being broadcast by the network (in a few days).

It depends too if there are less transactions going through in the next coming days it could always go through. I would suggest that you accelerate with viabtc's accelerator (just google it). If it says there are too many transactions then you need to wait until the next time the clock is exactly on the hour as that's when it refreshes.
972  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is total BS. Never a good time to sell! on: May 19, 2017, 06:11:54 PM
Reading this.. I really have to wonder...  did someone forget to put in the </sarcasm> tags to avoid confusion.. Huh?   Grin Grin Grin Grin

My bad. Lolol. God damn bitcoins are always going up. I have too much money now. More money more problems. Ugh. So many problems...
973  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: (I have green trust) Want to buy Bitcoin with Paypal GBP (0.05-0.1) on: May 19, 2017, 04:50:53 PM
Oh right! Thanks for clearing that up.

Can Americans accept payment in Paypal GBP?

There will be a charge for the currency conversion, but yes they can accept it. The rate is probably around 3% but  not sure as I never use either of those currencies Smiley
974  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: (I have green trust) Want to buy Bitcoin with Paypal GBP (0.05-0.1) on: May 19, 2017, 04:40:47 PM
I don't understand.

He means your custom trust list means nothing. You are black 0: -0 / +0 trust across the board. But anyway, having some positive trust is ok, having default trust is another thing.
975  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the right number of BTC to own in order to become rich in 10 years?? on: May 19, 2017, 04:38:47 PM
I usually don't post in such silly threads but wait guys, what gives you guarantee that bicoin's price will grow? Hope everyone here knows how changeable it is. So also there is a chanse it will fall. On another hand, for some people rich is millionare, for some - billionare and etc, so this isn't correct termine. Forget future dreams and think on current real time.
Forecasts ungrateful business, I would not have become so far to start my story about what I think about Bitcoin and its future. Of course, everyone hopes for nothing but positive moments and a high price, but how we all understand reality can be completely different

Nah that's bs. Bitcoins are going to the moon and no one can stop them. The rise is going vertical next year. Mark my words. You can quote me on that. 2018 will be a never ending vertical chart with tiny little red blips here and there when whales offload for some profits.
976  Economy / Speculation / This is total BS. Never a good time to sell! on: May 19, 2017, 04:36:35 PM
Any time I go to sell my bitcoins the price goes up another 10 or 20 or 40%. So I never sell. Then they go up another 20%-40% and I still never sell. This is ridiculous! How am I supposed to sell a currency that's constantly going up in price? I've become the cheapest person in the world now thanks to bitcoins. I don't know how much more of this price increasing I can take. Bitcoins just don't work at all like fiat does. Not even close.../s
977  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone else suffer losses from Poloniex with no explination? on: May 19, 2017, 04:12:30 PM
I did read that they are already being investigated for insider trading. Burns Weiss LLP is looking into it so I'll asume that if anything comes of it you'll be one of the ones to speak up. I'd read up on it more so you have an idea of what you need to do, and possibly even reach out the them with your claim in case they need more evidence.
978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How long to wait to receive 1.4BTC on: May 19, 2017, 04:08:28 PM
Just post the transaction ID and it'll be fairly obvious what to do from there. Try viabtc's accelerator or try and have them send the same transaction with a higher fee. Anything above 200 sats/byte will confirm probably within a day ish (hard to say exactly) and anything under 100 is just so low on the totem pole right now that it could be weeks or months.

Just post the transaction ID and we'll have a look. It could be that with 1.4BTC they had a lot of inputs and only attached a tiny fee.
979  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing money on bitcoin..! on: May 19, 2017, 04:05:48 PM
I think people will invest more in the coins once there is a better way ( easier ) way of buying the coins.

Well ya, if you want to see triple digit returns you'll need to buy before an exchange scoops it up. Once it's on Bittrex or Polo it's overly pumped. Look at the shitcoins they have that just get pumped and dumped over and over again. What the hell is a huntercoin, Viacoin, blackcoin? They're all just garbage. They have no real value, no volume except for whales pumping then right after dumping. A perfect example of it right now is BYTECOIN. It does have some real world value IMO, but holy shit it just got pumped to the moon and back. from 14-16 satoshis to what like 140? in ... 48h or something? Obvious manipulation is obvious. No words from devs, no new tech. It was just easy for some whale to buy out, pump the shit out of it then sell @ 10x profits. They're tanking now btw. Just like every pump and dump shitcoin will.
980  Economy / Speculation / Re: Addicted to HoDLing! on: May 19, 2017, 04:01:22 PM

-snip-

Here's my way of thinking: I consider my fiat investment in BTC as money already lost.
-snip-

Selling all/most of one's BTC now, just to gain a few thousand $, is not a very smart move IMHO, unless it's absolutely necessary. My advice to all is to keep hoDLing your coins and don't let some smart guys pick them up for peanuts (because $2000/coin is peanuts when you think of where it could rise to). 10 years is not a long time to wait...

I never understand when people say they're going to sell either. Why sell a currency? Why not just spend it once you're at a point you're happy with? Buy a car or a house or whatever you've been saving for. Retire or get a boat. Whatever. I 100% agree with you that if you're "invested" in fiat, you're already losing. You're actually losing 1-4% buying power every year! If bitcoins were dropping 1-3% every year consistently like clockwork you can be damn sure I wouldn't still be invested in bitcoins.

HODL forever. Spend when you need them, don't ever sell everything. If you have 15 btc and you need to spend 5, whatever. That sucks. But don't sell all 15! your 10 will soon be worth what your 15 were worth, so why sell everything? I'll never get rid of all of my bitcoins ever because they're just so... Perfect.
