981  Economy / Reputation / Re: To all BMs, here is a list of fake French translators - help us tag them ! on: July 04, 2018, 11:14:44 PM
Look like DT don't care anymore..

Look like the french board have to be closed... We are tired without moderator. One year I ask the same thing, one fucking year !
Only one guy is not tagged by DT and you say they don't care? If you know any french DT member, contact them next time, maybe they will get tagged soon.
By the way people have asked for less, and have waited for more than a year for that, don't think you're the only one here.
982  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: dont trust privcy coin on: July 04, 2018, 11:11:55 PM
I don't know if this is (entirely)true or not, but it seems to be that privacy coin is the next marinecoin(in terms of shills). People get so pissed when you talk about privacy coin. I see many similar red flags.
Anyhow, OP,are you saying that you didn't get paid for your airdrop? Or are you saying that someone else has similar username to yours? And please for the love of god, use a translator, that might work better than your english skills. Or tell what happened,in more clear terms.
983  Other / Meta / Re: Bitre Mining ANN has only Bot accounts posting on: July 04, 2018, 11:01:22 PM
This is not a scam accusation, move it to meta.

Report the thread(if you haven't already) and the thread started would be banned and the bots would be nuked.
984  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk is now protected from Phishing Sites on: July 04, 2018, 10:39:11 PM
The good thing about it being on Firefox is that you can use this extension on your phone. FIrefox is available to download their the play store, and you can add extensions to it.
Yeah, android version of Chrome sucks. Even though firefox supports extensions on phone, sometimes they don't work as good as they do in PC(it depends on which extensions people use).
I am pretty sure there are more bitcointalk lookalike phishing sites, I don't remember them though.
985  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a new feature of the forum? on: July 04, 2018, 10:27:17 PM
I think it has been there forever!

But I only notice it from time to time. Never use it actually.  Tongue
This. I use this a lot and it is definitely NOT a new feature. I am shocked that people just came to know about this. But nonetheless, now that your curiosity is solved, you know what to do. Wink
986  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk is now protected from Phishing Sites on: July 04, 2018, 10:10:01 PM
Wow. Thanks OP, I was looking for a chrome extention. And nice job on contacting them. This will not work on phones but it is what it is, and we have to deal with it. OP, you should also add a link to Firefox extension if it exists.
987  Economy / Reputation / Re: SebastianJu accepts transaction buying/selling bitcointalk accounts on: July 04, 2018, 10:03:04 PM
Seb is one of the noted members on Bitcointalk and tagging for his service might actually make him leave bitcointalk. A lot of knowledgable and reputable members have left already, we don't want honorable members to leave, we want shitposters to leave.
I think if the community is frowning against account sales, then it should be total. What is the main purpose of doing this? We all know the ills that comes along with it and the escrow in this case is a respected member of the forum and should have declined such trade in my opinion.
Then the community only includes a quarter portion of DT members and a few others. The main purpose of this frowning upon is to avoid scams and then spam. Other than that, nothing. The escrow has nothing to do with this. And Sebastian isn't the only escrow who has escrowed accounts. People give their bitcointalk accounts as collateral for loans and those are also escrowed. Point is, escrows shouldn't be tagged for this. Period.
988  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative trust removal guidelines for those advertising fake/scam ICO's on: July 04, 2018, 09:49:12 PM
I don't mean to like be an asshole here, but is there really a need for trust removal guidelines(even for fake/scam ICOs)? Trust is entirely subjective, case by case, and asking users not to justify themselves no matter how made up it is, is just not fair. Just give them the benefit of the doubt. I sort of see a cliche of what some other DT members[1] do(like ignoring or blocking PMs, not hearing from the other party's perspective et al)
And seriously, don't ask anybody to delete their posts. There might be legal consequences for that, I believe the SEC are going after these fake ICOs, and theymos has been subpoenaed before, for other matters, but all related to illegal activities. And archive every possible thread/post on and off the forum, just in case.
[1] I am not going to say who they are, it is public knowledge, and there's public proof for it. And I don't mean to offend anybody here.
989  Other / Meta / Re: Special Hero question on: July 03, 2018, 11:46:08 PM
That is if he gets the required number of merits for the new rank, his activity might be due for the new rank in next 4 weeks or less just like you said but he also needs the merit to move on to the legendary rank.
When people tell you,"Post in meta dude.. You'll get merits easily..." And then you come here saying crap without knowing anything. Nice.
You could never actually estimate at what level of activity you'd turn into legendary, even before the merit system. People could see the potential activity(the real activity level if an user had posted 14 posts every 2 weeks to estimate) from achow101's website(which is down indefinitely due to clouldfare) but they could never see when a person would turn into legendary. I got legendary rank at around 1000 activity. It differs from user to user, don't know why only legendary accounts have that floating activity rate.
990  Other / Meta / Re: Please get the TwitBook threads off the newbie board. on: July 03, 2018, 11:36:38 PM
...
I, personally, waste a lot of time to read useless posts, I read more shitposts than useful ones. Even AI bot could make more quality posts than them
Do bots really post here on the forum? I just can't belive that people can post so useless things in any topic...
What if we implement a recaptcha for e.g. a week, for every post? If it's only a week, I won't care much... This way we could analyze if it has any effect on the post count, so we could hopefully get the answer for the bot question...
Dude... The recaptcha thing would be a nightmare for somepeople. Especially for those who use TOR(everywhere). And those who use VPN/TOR in banned countries because they block access to it(sometimes). People take atleast 15 minutes to just get through one freaking captcha to login to this forum.
Twitbooks should be in off-topic and not in Beginners& Help. They have got nothing to do with bitcoin, assuming that by twitbooks you mean those who like offer twitter re-audits and crap like that(?).
991  Other / Meta / Re: Scam Accusations or Reputation? on: July 03, 2018, 11:29:18 PM
Scam accusation probably. IIRC, reputation is for bitcointalk accounts and the trust ratings a person receives/sends(related to that aspect) or for crazy butthurt people to come up with allegations. Scam accusations are for business/people that are scamming or trying to scam.
992  Economy / Reputation / Re: aTriz account has most likely changed hands on: July 03, 2018, 10:43:04 PM
reserved to post a sign message.

the account is still in my control, never sold nor even want to sell this account.
Can you sign with these addresses: 1LjT88X7Zu8BdbqJw8vfRa83NJuzYL9kqm and 1aTrizet7ocQ7nrfPcYiFhbtDPMF8Wfri
And with today's date on it? The first address was used here.

Crazy theory: Something makes me believe that aTriz's account was being used by someone else until today(forum time). Now the aTriz who used to manage bounties, is back to prove that he is the owner. Maybe to protect the buyer, if the implications about the account being bought and sold are true?
993  Other / Meta / Re: Simple answer to getting rid of all the trash threads here on: July 03, 2018, 10:01:23 PM
I would be curious to how many users are reporting weekly, and how many messages are being reported on a weekly basis. An educated guess would be that there just isn't enough users reporting. However, without the in depth statistics that theymos likely has access too it might well not be the case, and there's simply just too much spam currently, and restrictions would be the better option.
Yeah, there aren't enough reporters, only a few people who are like full-on dedicated to this forum report posts. And theymos will never bring in restrictions. He has said that he would ban signatures ultimately if the spam increases, but this is definitely not going to happen in the near future.

Honestly, just let things be the way they are. Spam cannot be reduced by putting merit restrictions. People would just find loopholes.
994  Other / Meta / Re: I'm just curious about a negative feedback on: July 03, 2018, 12:04:33 AM
if you feel that any rating by a DT member is not fair or valid, do create a thread in Reputation.

You are a funny comedian I'll give you that, creating a thread in reputation usually earns you more negative trust because DT members don't like it when you speak against their fuck buddies.
Thanks! I'll be honest too, you were a good troll before, but now you ruined that too. Your jokes turned into mere paragraphs with no wit,as time flew.

But creating a thread in reputation doesn't warrant you a negative trust. That is a stereotype. If you have valid concerns, do voice it out. DT members might speak against it, but if you have undeniable proof, either they'll agree with you, or they'll be removed from DT because of their lack of mature understanding.

I'll give you an example or two about this:

People defended aTriz left and right(including me because I thought he was a good manager) before he was tagged and I stood corrected.

People defended alia(because of her/him being a great contributor) until theymos made the possibility of the con attempt true.

TheButterZone was removed from DT because of his auction rules and his strict tags.

There are more cases, just because you didn't know how to handle a situation, doesn't mean others don't.
995  Other / Meta / Re: I'm just curious about a negative feedback on: July 02, 2018, 11:47:10 PM
I'm just curious about a negative feedback, I see in illustrating the negative feedback is "You were scammed or you strongly believe that this person is a scammer." but I see many members have negative feedback by describing outside the scammer. I know that DT members when giving trust are not moderated and depend on each member of DT itself.

please give me an explanation.

Edit:
I'm reading the explanation answer from the members below me
Trust is subjective. The rating you give or receive , from a DT or non DT-member, is all dependent upon the circumstances.

Initially the trust system was just to tag scammers or to give out positive trust to those who people have trades with. But now, its more than just that. Personal feuds, account buying/selling, Counters, merit/trust abuse, lying, promoting a ponzi et al have become a part of the ratings that people send/ receive.

There is constant misuse of the system, by DT and non-DT members, but it is usually because of the system being too complicated. Sometimes people act out of their mind, if you feel that any rating by a DT member is not fair or valid, do create a thread in Reputation.
For example: read my red tags, I dare you to find a single scam victim of mine, this forum is operating based of giving freedom of everything to people including freedom of abuse and harassment. once you speak against a DT member they'll find something on you to tag you red.
Usually scammers would do that, when you try to expose them for what they really are, they get stupid and would try to bash you with everything they've got, in our case it's DT red tag.
The tags you received are justified and have been explained on numerous occasions. No one can do anything, if you're too stupid to understand anything or if you don't realize why you got tagged in the first place. You were lying, you were offering a service for money for which you gave a guarantee(?)and you were accusing every DT member with many many allegations without any proof.

Refer here:
Marlboroza changed email address after getting on DT2!
Voluntary service to defend your case!
Do not trust suchmoon, a blatant trust abuser.
Do not trust actmyname.
@DT1 and DT2 members.
According to TP it's OK to tag hacked accounts.
996  Other / Meta / Re: A question about some email spammers on: July 02, 2018, 10:47:08 PM
I signed up for some airdrops where the spreadsheets make everyone's email public. There have been a few users who take those lists and then spam everyone's email with other airdrops/referrals, etc.

I've been able to trace which users are doing this and the airdrops they got the emails from pretty easily. My question is, is this something that users can still get banned for on bitcointalk even though the main spamming took place outside of the forum? And if so, what is the correct way to go about reporting it? Thanks!
Are the people who are sending you the emails newbies? If yes, then it is a lost cause, because even if DT members tag them, they'd create more accounts and more emails to spam your mail. Just block the emails. The mods or admins won't be able to do anything. If they are high ranked members(Full Member and above), like welsh said, create a thread in reputation and list the people sending you those emails with valid proof.
997  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaign which pays for merits? on: July 02, 2018, 10:34:12 PM
To be honest, merit shouldn't be a requirement for anything other than ranking up. There are good posters that haven't received a reasonable amount of merits or merits at all, and they exist, but just aren't visible to the active merit givers.

And a wise man once said, "Judge a person by his post quality and not by his merits".

I don't know who that guy is tho.
998  Other / Meta / Re: System error in double Merit submissions on: July 02, 2018, 09:30:32 PM
When you send Merit to any person, You are directed to the page where your incoming and outgoing Merits are displayed, and you are warned with a bold and big note that your submission is successful. When you refresh this page ; System will be sending a second submission to the same person. Everyone be careful.
Yeah, it has happened to me, and I foolishly refreshed the page twice I believe, meaning I sent 3 merits instead of one. I don't regret it that much, but just want to confirm that this is possible.

Its almost 6 months now that the merit system has been introduced, and people are aware of it now. There are more threads stating the same, you can lock this now.
999  Other / Meta / Re: Application for a merit source on: July 02, 2018, 07:05:08 PM
Bump! Up to the top you go.
Friendly bump  Grin
PS: Not sure why Welsh locked his merit source application topic?  Undecided
Thanks for your support.  Smiley
And Welsh has already become a merit source. Hence the topic is locked.
1000  Economy / Reputation / Re: aTriz account has most likely changed hands on: July 02, 2018, 03:36:53 PM
I was in one or two of his campaigns and he was always on the ball, which is why it sucks that he let greed get the best of him.  He's not a stupid person, so it wasn't that.
I don't think aTriz did it for a few bucks. There's probably more to the story than what it seems. Would he risk his reputation for a few hundred bucks? Maybe not, but since a lot of people are jeopardizing their reputation for a few bucks, it doesn't seem to be a new thing now.

I noticed that at the time as well, but nobody seemed to say anything about it as it was happening.  It was definitely kind of weird.  I was in one or two of his campaigns and he was always on the ball, which is why it sucks that he let greed get the best of him.  He's not a stupid person, so it wasn't that.
I think a few people were talking about it, not directly but people were talking.

If I recall correctly, before he got busted for his shenanigans, he applied for a relatively low-paying signature campaign, which I found surprising at the time.  I can't remember which one it was, but I remember wondering if his campaign manager days were over at that point.

Don't know what happened to him, but it's possible he just gave up the forum and moved on.  With the merit system nowadays, it would be pretty tough to rank up a new account to the level he had the aTriz one at.  I'm sure he could buy an account, however, but who knows if he did or not.
aTriz shouldn't have any problem earning merits, he was naive but he wasn't a shitposter (until now). But he'll most likely buy another account, if he has done the same before.
Honestly, aTriz should have come clean the moment he figured out about the bitblisscoin scenario, and he would have still been around. People started getting really hard on him after the alia con-attempt. Even if he is gone, he shall not be forgotten. That's all I have to say.
