Whatever happens it needs to happen before the split halving I would think.... so that is another time frame marker on the horizon now. More pressure on everything perhaps

And some are like "ohh something needs to get done"....Then roll it out this crap has been plaguing BTC for a while now.... and nothing seems to stick in the minds of the powers to be One of the criticisms is that SegWit has a lot of new and untested code. So if you rush it out you get "oh no this must not be used, it's unsafe". Plus you are labeled irresponsible. If you test it out thoroughly (as you should), you are attacked for " dragging the issue unnecessarily, just get on with it and release it". So whatever they do, they'll get flamed. It doesn't change anything. That's is very true as with most things new... I am all for testing, rather to get it right the first time... but good gosh, there has been so many solutions thrown out there its enough to make your head spin. Most of them would have solved the block size issue to some degree,,, so what's next if SegWit loses steam and support...

After more than two years, I learned from this thread it temporarily can go up, down, sideways or diagonal. But inevitably it only goes into one direction permanently. So why bother short term?
lol yep its been going up and down for a very long time now. I'm sure this is temporary. But you know how it is.... when ever overnight the price slides this much everyone comes out with theories and pointing fingers...

I wouldn't be surprised to see some shocking news about some core devs mysteriously disappearing.
this has VERY often been the price to sticking to one's principles...
Heaven forbid! lol that's all we need to see,,,, however I really hope that wont be the case... but you definitely have a point. Yep it has to be China again,,, that's it

i'm fairly certain this drop is pricing in Core/Blockstream 's hard headedness
I don't care what solution they agree on just get something done! hard fork whatever lol lol true well HOPEFULLY they can get segwit going in time but if they either don't get it out in time or it does not effectively increase block size by much, these devs are toast! Yes, I prefer to see a soft fork none the less mainly for the rest of the worlds sake" lol

but you can always fork off and play with eth dapps derps.
ETH: Price > 10x in 2 months BTC: Keeps tanking, predictably Man, you must feel AWFUL And if you even decided to invest in Ethereum, you can hope to see tears once the whales start dumping their coins and dropping the price back down to where it's supposed to be, and feeling bad about not sticking with bitcoin. Seems as BTC falls in price Ethereum rises... kinda self corrects it value against BTC prices.... amazing PS: Not an investor here, only mining it ETH

The halving will certainly put the miners' faith in Core's roadmap to the test. If BTC price doesn't rally to compensate, miners will be forced to decide what policies will lead to the highest profits for them. Some will likely go bust anyway.
You nailed it! was having that exact conversation with a friend a few days ago BTC will have to rally or else........

what's going on with price slippage... or so it seems

Noise23 runs acidpool, he may have suspended payouts due to his recent troubles. I'd contact him directly. Meanwhile, http://gmc.cryptocloudhosting.org/GMC/public could use some miners In other, much better, news, the block explorer is now fixed, and we can stop speculating about Coinmarketcap, it's now showing the correct supply. Be one hell of a coincidence if they were pulling their data from somewhere else and fixed it at the same time the official block explorer came back to full function My apologies and thanks to all who waited it out. Usually when something goes wrong on the BE, it's easy to fix. This time, it was anything but. And I must own a part of that. After rebuilding it, I miskeyed a command, which made the front end go even more goofy. After I figured that out, it took about 22 hours to get everything right again. Much longer than I would have liked, but it's all good now. Had the same problem with acidpool but contacted noise23 - he sorted it within minutes and paid me the 7000+ GMC that were showing unconfirmed in my pool account balance - they're now confirmed in my wallet Thanks to noise23 for responding so quickly Yes, same here Thank you for contacting him, and he did a good job taking care of problem. Be back soon PS: Nice hash there btw

Ya baby, I just got home with a trunk full of goodies 2- 280x's (Asus) and 3 -7950's, 2 - 3 way PCI-E (Asus) motherboards, an 850w corsair PSU and a 1200 watt corsair PSU and of course hard drives, ram and assorted risers and cases and an open air rack..... all used of course. but barely. Got some serious rebuilding to do! But plan to have a least 2 more 7950's running before I go to sleep lol Feels like Christmas time Just had to share my excitement lol i think you were rather a bit late mining now, should be mining 6 month ago... yes if entirely so, however I did mine earlier on.... but moved around a bit with existing small farm, but may throw everything back at Ethereum now. Its all for fun anyways make a little extra along the way perhaps

Quick question, what is an estimate in MH to yield 1 coin in 24 hours, or what could I expect to earn (Ethereum) with 100MH in a 24 hour period. Ballpark figure Thanks for any help. it`s around 3.2-3.5 ETH for 120MH/s ok, cool THX! I experimented with a 345mh rental on ethpool.org, and got 5 ETH every 12 hours approx I am mining with about 125 MH now and picking up: 2 x 280x, 3 x 7950's tomorrow $$$$ used of course lol but hope to see a fast return on added gear. THX for that input... great way to test with rental rigs

What sort of hash rates are people getting with the 7950/7970 and the R9 270?
Somewhere around 22 MH with 7950's when peaking. 7970's maybe 25 MH. I am mining with both on the other coin lol Also mining with a 7870 and getting about 17MH which they are comparable to a R9 270
