1741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COINO] The Coin(O) Community Discussion thread on: February 23, 2015, 04:46:28 AM
At one time this coin was my favorite coin to mine. Besides making me a handsome profit in its day, the coin actually was a great coin. Very fast transactions. To this day I haven't really found a coin that comes close.

I only wish the devs had stayed with it a little longer.

Who knows maybe one day it will rise once again!  Wink

It may would but without exchanges........  Cry

Heya

Just FYI that we're mining CSC on our multipool: www.xpool.ca and miners have the option to keep their CSC when it gets mined just by entering your CSC address in your user settings.

Cheers!
Well, so what makes your pool any different then these 2 pools besides the layout?

This first pool is a complete rip-off in terms of Mining MH vs. payout ..... (and xpy sucks, just was testing their multipool)

http://xpypool.com/

And this pool hasn't performed a payout now in almost 5 days. However, payouts have been seemingly fair at Ihash ( when ya happen to get one) but now no payouts.

http://ihash.co/

Both stated daily payouts. neither came close......

My point is: your pool and these 2 multi pools are "cut from the same thread" (format) And I wonder if they are all operated by the same people?

Ok, Just for fun, I may give ya a shot anyways. Just hope your a better managed pool.  Wink

You don't know what you are talking about.  Faster blocks doesn't mean anything.  If bitcoin forked to 1 minute block times, then a transaction with 10 confirmations would be just as secure as one with one confirmation how it is now.  It's not the number of confirmations, its TIME.

That's not true. Each block race is a discrete event, so the chance of a specific miner beating the world to a set of, say, six blocks in a row should be roughly the same regardless of the time between blocks. Difficulty might change the curve a little, but, for the most part, it's the chance of winning a set of races cumulatively that matters.

Given X amount of hashpower and Y difficulty, the time to find a block on average is 10 minutes.  The block time is manipulated by adjusting the difficulty, so your statement is incorrect.  If you want 1 minute bitcoin blocktimes with the same amount of hashpower that exists today, you must decrease the difficulty by a factor of 10, you can't get around that.  So you see, decreasing the time between blocks does nothing, it just decreases the difficulty and thus the security.

So I say again..security of the blockchain given X amount of hashpower is proportional to time, not blocks.

Your belief is a common misconception.
The above is correct, and simple enough for most to understand... hash vs. difficulty = block average.  Wink

Just a quick update. There will be an upcoming patch soon, the fix will require a fork. As soon as we are ready, we will provide everyone the updated source code to update the daemon and start notifying everyone, as well as provide the new desktop wallets.

Sounds like a plan!  Wink

THX!

PS: we will all work through this hiccup together.  Cool

I remember those days! And, I miss them... But, DNotes continuing success far outshines the mining rewards.

Yes I would agree! The mining is fun and can be rewarding, but I am at the point of looking at other means how to personally benefit and gain form crypto, such as CRISP. Especially at my age  Cry lol

This is a first, Crisp, I am not aware of any other such plans out there? This is really innovative, keep up the great work! and everyone in Dnotes

Hi everyone.

I got a forum posting education from my kids so I could try and help out with your open house.  The education came with a lot of eye rolling  Roll Eyes and sighing as I am the ONLY mother on the planet that doesn't know how to use Facebook, Twitter, or a forum.  This seems like a really friendly bunch here and I haven't seen anyone who looks like they might bite, so I will start by telling you my retirement story.

Both my husband and I work hard and save for retirement.  He has a pretty good government pension that he will get when he retires in about 10 -15 years.  My savings are mostly in mutual funds and the magic number is no where close to where it should be at this point in my life.  2009 was a real blow to my retirement fund.  We both contributed to Canada Pension Plan which we will receive at 65 but it won't be much.  I was told you are supposed to be debt free 10 years before you retire and with a mortgage and kids in university, we just seem to keep spinning our wheels.

We seem to have missed out on every gold rush, oil boom, and internet craze that came along.  When a friend explained DNotes to me, even though I didn't understand anything technical about it, I knew I had to take a chance.  I won't cry if I lose the $100, but I will cry if it becomes the best investment in history and I had a chance to get in on it and didn't.

Thank you everyone for giving me this chance and I'm holding you all to all the case of wine promises you made. Smiley

Honored to have your confidence! Check your DNotes Vault balance (it may take 24 hours to hit). 2009 was hard on a lot of us. Here is a little help from Smokeyland.

Smokey

Thank you very much.  I can't believe you are giving DNotes to a perfect stranger!  I think the world is going to be okay. Smiley

I enjoyed reading your post, and you really are in a great thread with a great coin and a generous team  Wink

Like you, its seems I have always missed the booms in life, but was at least fortunate enough to catch the tail end of BTC coming of age. But Dnotes is the most stable coin of all with continued upward growth. Who knows one day it could be the next Bitcoin, or at least knocking at its door! One day one year at a time.   Smiley

Hey Dnotes! Happy Birthday  Smiley

My first mined coins came in on March 10th 2014, at a little past 10pm at night. I had learned of Dnotes somewhere along the way after realizing my GPU farm was slowly taking a backseat to Asics when mining BTC. So the search was on for a stable Alt coin that would be suitable for my GPU's. Hence I found Dnotes and boy it sure has been a great ride, in regards to mining. The early days were more profitable than I could have ever imagined for an Alt. For the past year now, Dnotes has been my primary coin to mine. Not sure how many coins that is but is well into the thousands and thousands. Now I only wish I had sat on them, had I done so, I could looking at a very nice retirement portion just from Dnotes Smiley But its all good.

A special thanks to the coin dev, team and community on an excellent well managed well maintained coin with a lot of vision for the future. The very things that most other coins are very lacking in! I know I haven't posted much nor contributed a lot to this thread, but going forward I will try to lend support wherever I can.

Again, Happy Birthday and congrats on a job well done! Lets make the next year even better  Cool

Thank you MinermanNC, we are glad you found us!

Hey gang,

I'd like to post a few screen shots later. For some reason I must being doing something wrong, needles to say I never have posted an image lol. Ok, I make the screen shot, I am able to save and make it a gif and or jpg file, but when I go to copy and paste it wont let me? also, I read instructions on posting images, and it shows a way to browse for the file but when I do a reply/post, I did see an option to browse my PC for an image. Ok, any help would be great. Its probably something so simple, that's why I am having trouble lol

THX Smiley

I upload the image somewhere and post the url between the img tags.

Code:
[img]http://someurl.ext/image.png[/img]

You can use a site like http://postimage.org/ to upload and get the direct link to the image.
Hey thanks, I will try that later on. Smiley

Ya Know, I am just glad I stayed clear of GAW and paycoin. I did find it an interesting concept however, but it had to many inherent flaws that should have been worked out first. But the biggest 2 reasons are simple. 1. way to centralized and under direct control, which is and always will be too risky in the crypto world. 2. My friend a long time ago, ordered a few Zeus miners from GAW. He never received them, and had to fight with poor customer service to get anything done and ultimately had to do a charge back. So, that in itself smelled a little fishy and risky. ok,   Cry`
