The probably faked leaked emails are weird because the idea for Paycoin 2.0 is actually a pretty good idea.

The idea to give retailers an incentive to hold XPY, by collecting information about users and releasing that info to the retailer only if they hold XPY?

I think it's a dumb idea, but dumb in a very Garza-esque fashion which is one point in favor of the emails possibly being genuine. Look at it from the retailer's point of view. You've sold a widget for $100, and accepted 120 XPY in payment. You have suppliers to pay, employees to pay, utilities to pay, etc. If you took in that $100 in USD you wouldn't hold it. Most companies don't keep large cash reserves on hand. The money comes in and goes right back out (some into your pocket, hopefully, if you're the owner).

How much less attractive is it to hold those funds in an alt coin that you can't use to pay any of your bills, and whose value could double or be cut in half at any time? You're playing roulette with the cash instead of paying the bills.
That's correct. No retailer holds any coins when paid in crypto. They are instantly reimbursed in fiat from the sponsor company like coinbase. So with that said, unless Josh has the means to convert xpy into cash for the merchant,,, nobody will except it. Maybe some little guy selling t-shirts or hot sauce may take it with out an instant fiat conversion. Merchants have no liability when excepting BTC and alike.

Was wondering, has anyone dared to buy anything from the original GAW miners, like the ant miner s4's etc? didn't know if that wing of GAW is still creditable.

I'll not touch anything "GAW" with a stick ...it's like touching shit... Grin

I used to buy a lot of physical miners from them..."founder status" ...but after all these twists and empty promises ..."hashlets", cloud "mining", Poopcoin...etc...I don't trust Homero even with a penny... Wink

IMHO...

Ya I hear ya! lol, kinda the way I feel also. But always looking for the best deal....  Grin

And yes always use a paypal... they have always reimbursed me when things go wrong  Wink especially and usually with crypto gear lol

Just was looking through HT, I guess all that's left there is bag holders, reminiscing of better days gone by.. lol I have to laugh when I see some of them actually getting excited at the thought of moving GAW operations out of the country! have they absolutely lost it? When will they ever learn that Paycoin is and always was just another shit coin. Not magical, not spiritual, not anything but an Alt shit coin. Now worth .97 cents, on its way to dead coin pile.  Grin

lol yeah, reminds me of how the Peoples Temple followers got excited when Jim Jones said he was moving them out of the country to "Jonestown" and we all know how that ended, cult mentality never ceases to fascinate me

lol, ya I remember seeing that Jim Jones stuff on the news when it happened ( getting old Sad ).... how people can put their blind faith in mortal men is beyond me... Jim Jones, Hitler, Josh  Grin and the list goes on,,, lol

PS: don't drink the Kool-aid was the lesson learned

Super! I just sent them an email about 30 minutes ago, basically asking them to resolve the issue as it was a main attraction for me as well as others Smiley

I will let you know what their response is when I know.

THX

Just finished my ticket to them offering my assistance. We did have an issue a few days ago with hamster pool on ubuntu 14.04 (not the other versions which was weird), we were able to fix by updating the checkpoints with that specific block they were getting stuck on. So I did point advise they may want to make sure they have that update from the source code.
That's great, lets hope they take a look soon and reach out if they need to. So far my communications with them have been very cordial on their part. They did indicate that after checking the problem, it had been there for a couple of days, I guess no one had notice or made mention of it? lol So perhaps it is a checkpoint and or stuck wallet.

I will give then time to respond. Please let me know if you do hear from them.  Smiley

Make no mistake, I am for the most part anti-multipool lol, however With Dnotes as their primary coin, I couldn't resist and at the same time was still helping to grow Dnotes circulation and check out a new pool concept. that's about it  Wink
1773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOTE]DNotes - DNotesVault Now Open for Registration! on: February 13, 2015, 10:16:39 PM
Hey gang, I got the invite to the open house Smiley I will be around

THX!
MMNC

PS: I am still mining Dnotes of course, However I decided to try Ihash Multipool (Arch coin) It had Dnotes as the main scrypt coin ( or I wouldn't have mined there )  Wink  with about 120 MH devoted to it. However my first 20 hours of mining resulted with all orphans. (Dnotes only) I notified support and they took it out of the rotation. Said they felt it had forked, but I informed them I had not seen anything unusual with Dnotes. This was all yesterday. As of today they still do not have Dnotes Sad

Perhaps a dev from here can look into it? maybe offer to see where they went wrong.

This was the main contact: https://archsupport.freshdesk.com/support/solutions

They were very quick to respond and also I was compensated for the lost Dnotes that orphaned.  Smiley

I just dropped the bootstrap in the roaming folder and didn't delete anything lol, but all seems to work fine either way I guess.  Grin I also did a doge wallet today and used a bootstrap and simply dropped it in as well, no issues. But I have read it best to delete all else but the wallet.dat etc., but seems to make no difference. Food for thought  Smiley

Why this coin take so long to download have all updated nodes and taking so long to download blockchain.
I used that bootstrap when I installed my wallet this afternoon, and was updated within a few hours or less

As of now I have five receive addresses with an even amount of coin waiting to mature. I think its 8 hours is that correct, before staking can occur?

4 hours after they last were involved in a transaction, and 510 blocks after they were last staked.

510 blocks takes about 8 hours.
ok, got it, thats better yet! lol

THX

a cool concept by the way,  clams Cool surprised it hadn't caught my attention sooner lol
1779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMS, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Pearl, Recent Mandatory Update on: February 09, 2015, 03:37:57 AM
ok, another silly question. Is their any advantage to running more than one wallet, on different PC's verses using just one wallet on one pc? since clams can be split, or is there any limitations using one wallet for everything lol  Grin

THX again,

Bad things can happen if you run the same wallet.dat file on multiple instances and/or computers etc..

I read in the past about how you shouldn't do that,  I would have to dig up a link

I think it would be ok with different wallet.dat files though on separate machines.

Yes you are very correct on that if using the same wallet.dat. What I am wondering is the latter, running say 5 wallets on their own pc, clean installs (own wallet.dat) So say, which is better or no difference? ex: 500 clams staking in 1 wallet on 1 pc, or 100 clams each staking on 5 different wallets. (100 on each wallet) Just didn't know if their is anything to be gained by multiple wallets, perhaps better for the client network I suppose but probably no real gain in actual staking rate or odds.... If you see what I am saying lol but I still wonder or maybe I am thinking to much into it  Undecided

THX

Just show advanced options in send..  and use the inputs button.

Send coins to different addresses (that you create in same wallet) using that,   to split them up..   no reason to use other wallet.dat's

You can keep them all split up in the  same wallet,  I'm guessing you could even split the inputs/stacks up in the same address.

I keep my coins split up in small stacks/amounts, so others don't get tied up while staking.

Is that what you're talking about?

Hey thanks, both great answers from you and superclam. I got the big picture now   Smiley and see how the splitting eliminates the need for other wallets etc. I sure wish I could have that problem one day of my cpu meter tacking out due to too many coins in a single wallet. (or bottle necking)  lol

As of now I have five receive addresses with an even amount of coin waiting to mature. I think its 8 hours is that correct, before staking can occur?

Thanks for the clarifications  Wink
