I really thought yesterdays stock market dump would have benefited btc.... perhaps it has and we just don't know it? lol we could be looking at 550.00 right now perhaps...

Still overall I am pleased with btc last few weeks. Still thinking 800+ by halving. Just my thoughts/wish  Cheesy

i still think that this DAO-fuckup and the finex-panic killed momentum towards 840$ and higher. but thats crypto! this place is still full of amateurish participants flooded with too much money. be it devs or investors.
ya definitely it did, left a stain on the moral of would be crypto investors,,,, took the wind out of the sail" a little bit

Was moving along just fine an hour ago....

I pray there are not many libtards on this forum.
I hope not!!

Most Bitcoiner's are pretty cool I feel anyways.... Id say they are into it because they don't like Big Gov. control, unlike the libtards  Grin

Old BTC trying hard to come back tonight. We would think with the down stock market that we would see some folks scarf up some bitcoin for there lacking portfolios lol 700+ works for me tonight .. maybe  Wink
1305  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 24, 2016, 06:54:33 AM
U.S. stocks are tanking,,, any guesses that this could be good for bitcoin?  Grin
1306  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 23, 2016, 01:36:08 AM
Not looking to good for the home team here tonight. This slippage is worse than I first thought.... yikes!  Sad

What do they say,,,, no where to go but up" now maybe? lol

I like BTC .

I buy for 1100 sell for 200 and now I buy back for 750.

I like BTC.

I buy for 750 and now in 650.

I'm sure you will get it all back, just sit tight. You bought in a the peak of this last run, but another should be coming soon  Smiley

I am a bit surprised to see btc fall as it has in a day,,, but the rise was rather sudden and fast. I'm chalking it off as a correction. Its now where I would have thought it to be this close to halving.... I still say 800-900 at halving time with a little luck perhaps.

or perhaps the catalyst that signaled the trend reversal was BFX going offline . just speculating .
I'm sure it has something to do with it. Folks are a little jumpy after "the other news" a few days ago with "another coin"  Grin

So long as it was not a hack etc. I think the fear of (bfx) going offline/freeze will pass quickly.... I hope!

I am a miner and think a fork is in order in this particular instance.

This same exploiter person could have just as easily exploited 10 coins, then stopped and reported this bug to the devs and allowed for a quick fix.

But no, he chose the more criminal path,,, that of a common burglar,,, he should be denied every pennies worth of Ethereum he stole.

Ethereum will still be decentralized and justice will be served- through denying the burglar his bounty.

Hurry up and put the fork out there and let us miners decide. The devs cannot be held responsible if they write the code fix and put it out there for a ton of anonymous miners to decide to act on the new fork.  Wink

Ethereum is still a great concept although not perfect.
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: June 20, 2016, 05:51:04 AM
Starting to look pretty awesome and with a big competitor DAO gone, this might be the one to actually succeed Smiley
That's what I am hoping for  Grin was thinking the exact same thing, a great chance to maybe pickup some disillusioned and disgruntled eth and Dao players lol

Expanse surely could help fill the void....

The attacker joined the DAO slack and posted btw. http://pastebin.com/CcGUBgDG

===== BEGIN SIGNED MESSAGE =====
To the DAO and the Ethereum community,

I have carefully examined the code of The DAO and decided to participate after finding the feature where splitting is rewarded with additional ether. I have made use of this feature and have rightfully claimed 3,641,694 ether, and would like to thank the DAO for this reward. It is my understanding that the DAO code contains this feature to promote decentralization and encourage the creation of "child DAOs".

I am disappointed by those who are characterizing the use of this intentional feature as "theft". I am making use of this explicitly coded feature as per the smart contract terms and my law firm has advised me that my action is fully compliant with United States criminal and tort law. For reference please review the terms of the DAO:

"The terms of The DAO Creation are set forth in the smart contract code existing on the Ethereum blockchain at 0xbb9bc244d798123fde783fcc1c72d3bb8c189413. Nothing in this explanation of terms or in any other document or communication may modify or add any additional obligations or guarantees beyond those set forth in The DAO’s code. Any and all explanatory terms or descriptions are merely offered for educational purposes and do not supercede or modify the express terms of The DAO’s code set forth on the blockchain; to the extent you believe there to be any conflict or discrepancy between the descriptions offered here and the functionality of The DAO’s code at 0xbb9bc244d798123fde783fcc1c72d3bb8c189413, The DAO’s code controls and sets forth all terms of The DAO Creation."

A soft or hard fork would amount to seizure of my legitimate and rightful ether, claimed legally through the terms of a smart contract. Such fork would permanently and irrevocably ruin all confidence in not only Ethereum but also the in the field of smart contracts and blockchain technology. Many large Ethereum holders will dump their ether, and developers, researchers, and companies will leave Ethereum. Make no mistake: any fork, soft or hard, will further damage Ethereum and destroy its reputation and appeal.

I reserve all rights to take any and all legal action against any accomplices of illegitimate theft, freezing, or seizure of my legitimate ether, and am actively working with my law firm. Those accomplices will be receiving Cease and Desist notices in the mail shortly.

I hope this event becomes an valuable learning experience for the Ethereum community and wish you all the best of luck.

Yours truly,
"The Attacker"

If this guy is legit " The attacker"  I say fork him!

With this little shenanigan, albeit possibly within the terms of the code" what he has done is rapidly devaluing ether. At this rate he wont have much to sue over  Grin

He is guilty of exploitation and should return all ether, and let the code be fixed or edited to avoid this in the future.

What just happened on Stamp? Did someone go stop loss hunting?

sometimes the feeds get broken (like bitcoinity) when it gets wild like this so be careful to double-check and/or verify prices ... also there are some huge arbitrages opening up between exchanges now, this bull is going to get crazy methinks, getting that old bitcoin-crazy tingle coming back (only for 3rd time ever)
(only for 3rd time ever)

lol, ain't that the truth  Cool

Lol, reading some of this funny stuff.

Bitcoin is the greatest invention since sliced bread.
BTCeanie BTCabies are the greatest invention since sliced bread. Ty Warner was the guy Satoshi stole the whole "value through artificial scarcity" bit.

Ya, so what if some folks have to pay hackers in Bitcoin when they get hit with Crypto Locker or something  Grin always going to be criminal activity with everything that's has a value.
Bitcoin is as suited to crime as Mausers are to killing people. How many times does this need to be repeated?
Ok, since you have it in for bitcoin, Do you like Ethereum or Dogecoin or any alts or anything digital? currency wise?  Huh

Edit: Personally I could really care less lol, I am just killing time waiting for my son to get here with some lime pie, that's what really matters!  Grin

Lime Pie only .004 BTC per slice! will except alt coins of equal value  Wink
