So far we on the way to 500 ...moving in the right direction My advice, sell when we see 1000.00 again It could be that again... remember when some analyst were saying 10,000 lol what ever happened to that kind of talk....

Long term prices are driven by adoption that's the most significant one
|
|
|
I don't get what drives the price.
That's always a bit of a mystery.... and likewise what drives the price down. Its as clear as muddy water lol Edit: of course as in anything demand sets the price, but what drives that demand like, as in now?

Huobi moving fast 2992 already I wish I had bought a lot more this summer oh well, this is a lot of fun to watch even if I only have a few coins. Beats the shit out of watching tv.
Yep, and even a few coins is better than no coins right now

Get a million of those little buggers out there in use, and somebody will have a nice chunk of the network hash rate for their pool.... 21

... We need a storage platform that people love using...
Yes, nothing else actually matters. Nothing. Please read the Steve Jobs biography.... Obsession with "user experience" built the biggest corporation in the world. You're mostly on the right track with Sia... But running 3 programs, console interfaces, excessive locking, multiple passwords, lost coins, required router settings, dodgy upgrades, etc... Show that you really DON'T GET IT... and are the sort of person Jobs would fire on the spot. With BitTorrent, I can download a torrent with exactly 2 clicks... it's not too late to make Sia work. BitTorrent is well over a decade old and is built by a company with 100 employees. Sia is about 6 months old and has been built by ~3 people. There is only one password, nobody has lost coins since 0.3, upnp is working, and you really only need to touch the UI. I'm not sure what problems specifically you are talking about, but we've made substantial progress over the past 3 months. The iPhone was not built in a day, and Sia cannot be built in a day either. I think you will like 0.5.0 and apple was about to go under as a business until bill gates helped with something along the lines of a 300nillion usd injection - and a deal to get microsoft products into osx ... then apple came out with the ipod - and that made them BILLIONS - and they are what they are today ... i cant remember the specifics - but im sure its there in the internet history books ... i have yet to look it up myself - but if memeory sevres me correctly - apple were in dire starights had it not been for the bill gates 'helping hand' ... either way - sia is probably one of the best storage systems ive seen to date ... very early stages of will be ( if taek and team continue ) one of the most profound decentralized storage packages in history ... i remember the days of the original bit torrent too ... damn those command line functions you had to punch in when it first started out ... hehehe ... #crysx your very close on that bailout deal from Gates http://www.nytimes.com/library/cyber/week/080797apple.htmlGosh I loved the tech explosion of the late 80's into the 90's. I guess that's why I have enjoyed watching Sia develop in a similar new explosion of data storage. Its simply refreshing. its a whole new world in how that data is best stored and by whom.... stay tuned.....

Just luv your critical encouragement Zer0Sum All said, if that is all you find wrong with it thus far, to me that means Sia is on the right track when you consider its still very much in Beta...... By far.... it is not to late, to the contrary, its only just the beginning PS: Even Steve Jobs and Apple were not always on top nor did they start out at the top....and went through many twist and turns and growing pains.... before Finally becoming one of the largest corporations. To your point I think the team with Sia is doing an outstanding job when compared. http://www.nytimes.com/library/cyber/week/091797apple.html

Hey great read Don't anyone give up the faith on Sia. Patience Is a Virtue One day this will be the preferred decentralized storage option for the masses.

As far as the 29 word pass, I just copied and pasted it to a notepad file, copy and paste when unlocking wallet. Of course keep it well tucked away on your Pc and on another flash drive etc. as not to be easily found if ever hacked It'd be pretty easy to scan the computer for a set of words that are used in the mneonics, keeping the file on-disk is not going to protect you against a sufficiently sophisticated hacker (a full computer scan takes a while but is not hard to write if you've already got access to the machine). True, I guess its just a matter balancing the risk verses convenience But I do definitely agree it can be discovered if a determined hacker so desires. suppose it would be wise to at least lock/encrypt the folder the pass file is in....

Thanks a lot killerstorm for the feedback.
Personally I am fine with 15 or 29 word mnemonic because I just write them somewhere. I don't trust my memory to memorize 15 or 29 words. You always need at least a backup.
I can't wait to see people using Sia as a storage. If the devs succeed, the demand will be huge.
Like many I am being patient with Sia, its coming and yes demand will be huge! As far as the 29 word pass, I just copied and pasted it to a notepad file, copy and paste when unlocking wallet. Hey Motty! How have you been. Me, doing ok. After 6 months of my account MMNC being held ransom, I finally worked it out to get it back. I see the mining is still steady, and I deciding to mine some more Fuji. As you know my PC was hacked and not only did they steal my Bitcoin talk accounts but also got almost 5 million FujiCoins from my wallet which unfortunately I had not locked. Also, got into a couple of other wallets and took other coins. A big lesson learned. I did not discover that theft until a few months later. Since that time I have mined a little Fuji, and got a new wallet as well. its a shame there is so much evil in the world today. But that is the way it is. Ok just wanting to say hello and grab a few more of one of my all time favorite coins, FujiCoin! MMNC Ps: did I tell you my son got a 92 on his Senior project using FujiCoin as his theme on Crypto and mining.

Time to sleep... this will most likely drop below 300 when I wake up.
Same here... sleep! but I think there is still room for some optimism.

Thx for posting that,,, its rather vague exactly what kind of "cyber attack" ... hmmm, oh well it doesn't describe a crippling though for OKcoin. Sounds more like they were responding to the attack as a preventive measure... time will tell But whenever BTC is riding high on a wave, everyone really is on pins and needles wondering were it will stop, and the slightest little hiccup in market (or exchange in this case) causes panic so fast lol

I'm worried with the OKcoin thing. If they are insolvent then it will be like a Gox event with steroids
What, when did this happen? (The rumors) - It's insane how many of these exchanges are scams. Ya is there any more to this OKcoin thing? Even if they were hacked, most coins should be in cold storage, hard to imagine insolvency,,, these days" They are insolvent. Roger Ver guarantees it. lol

My my where has all the Bitcoin gone lol I posted 2 nights ago, we'd be lucky if 350.00 would become the new floor, after the first flash crash,,, and was mocked for posting that... appears that may be where we end this little ride at, around 350.00 Which in my opinion is decent and more realistic. But I fear it will go lower again. But what do I know or any of us apparently.. lol I think it looks as if it goes lower soon. IDK, I think for a long time at 250 ish it was under valued, so I like to see this as a overdue needed correction.... maybe If it can at least wander around 350 for a few days then we'll be ok with this rally. And its been fun!
