I just did a test withdraw from Poloniex into my own wallet.  I have hosting contracts working and the wallet seems to be working fine.  I made one new address and had Polo send my coins to that address.  However I end up with a Completed:Error status on my Polo Transaction list.  They are trying to fix it now.

Any ideas on why the transaction might not have worked, or anything I can do to verify the wallet can receive coins properly?

Also, how long can I shut down my wallet and not get penalized on my hosting contracts?  I'm assuming a quick restart will not hurt anything.

Thank You

Good question on the shutdown? I just checked and I have 62 contracts with .78 GB used. Earnings to earn 56.62 Sia woot! lol

And I only have had Sia hosting for a day and a half now...interesting  Grin

I run gsoil and still doesn't sync? I can open Soilsafe,  I see my acct. and supernova is sending my payments to that acct addy, but without my gsoil updated ... I am not seeing those coins in my Gui wallet... any suggestions on what I am missing with syncing gsoil? I have about 53 coins somewhere lol

Block explorer shows my address and proper coin balance.

I got the same problem before. So, I added all nodes at page 1. Sync right away.
how did you add those nodes? and where exactly... as a conf file in apps data?

thx

Show you conf file  Grin

Sia is an awesome concept. I am just glad to have been privileged to see it launch and be involved from ground floor, watching it grow even with its inherit pains.. lol It is taking on a life of its own. (and coin value has had a pretty decent floor overall that can only go up)

Taek is a fantastic dev and communicator as well. I feel the project is in good hands  Smiley we are in good hands

Yes patiently waiting for the pool as well. Almost thought it was imminent as in a few pages back  lol

Me too  Tongue

It's still a high priority.  Lot of big things are coming on Friday, not the pool unfortunately. But we're doing a huge marketing push that should bring Sia to a lot of eyeballs. Stay tuned  Smiley
Yes, will be watching for it! Lets move Sia up a notch now. Hopefully generate some new users  Wink

Any chance of updating the explorer to show the current difficulty. Looks like you can see it when viewing the block details. And from what I can see difficulty is very high at 440T (and is that for the next 350 blocks?). I do think the difficulty adjustment algo needs to be enhanced to more quickly retarget. I'm eager for a pool to be released by @ocminer as I would like to start mining this coin.

I know these things take time however. And as is being discussed, perhaps some tweaking on the block lag. But it would be sorta neat to see how or if things would level out and become stable and consistent on its own after a pool. But as ol92 mentioned, a pool may not be enough... see what Taek maybe has up his sleeve?  Grin

Yes will be waiting to try the windows miner  Wink

Thx Taek!

Hey,
New user here--got the GUI wallet for Windows and running it. Managed to create a wallet etc.

The problem I'm having is that it doesn't appear to be syncing the blockchain. Am I missing something? It just says in the overview page that the Block Height is 0.

Thanks.

unlock the wallet ...

that should allow you into the system ... unless i have it wrong of course ...

if the new wallet was anything like the old one - then DONT unlock it unless its fully sync'd - as it will take a LONG time if you do ...

anyone else help? ...

#crysx

If I were to speculate:

I noticed that sometimes the main tab of the wallet will continue to read 0 blocks until you tab to "wallet" and back to "overview." That seems to force a refresh of the information. If I wait it seems to refresh automatically on the overview page, but can take a full minute.  Also, it can just take a while for the wallet to build the database at first, but the new wallet is much faster. The wallet and SIA in general does not respond or look exactly like what most people are used to so the initial thought people have is that it is being "non-responsive" but so far 0.4.3 seems to be working very well. And yes, you don't unlock until the database is caught up and the balance will still read zero until you unlock. This is more of a feature than a bug if I understand correctly.
Your speculations are spot on! lol   Wink

ocminer that sounds great! as mentioned we all have been getting a 400 or 500 HTTP:code when using 4.2/4.3

So to mine we all will need the fix for these 2 versions or we can mine from 0.3.3.3

If you wanted to test a pool using 0.3.3.3 most of us have a miner that works well with that version. Let any of us know and we could help test. I have a supernova account  as many do I am sure. So quick and slick hopefully lol

But I think we are a day or 2 away from the fix as Taek mentioned. Then mining should be fine then.

Thanks again,  Smiley

I wish someone would sell me a Sia Fund or 2  Smiley

Did you check the Sia Trader thread on the Trading forum on Slack? Individuals there post SF for sale regularly. Seems the going price is 10m SC, which to me sounds a lot.
Hey I will take a peek and also I see in the trading thread someone selling at that price, but ya seems a little high nowadays having and knowing the market for Sia. Will scout for a good price, but need to brush up on how to receive and store the fund addresses etc.  Smiley

Use to be no one would sell early on.... now they will lol

I still can't get the miner to work.. fml
Taek mentioned a fix coming for the miner. But like mishax1 said, wait for a pool soon and the updated miner. You can still mine using 0.3.3.3 if you must with existing miner.
