So for those of us who killed siad using task manager, does this mean we have also lost our coins and any uploads stored in new wallet? Hard to imagine that.
No you still have your coins : try deleting resources\app\Sia\consensus\* or - copy your resources\app\Sia\wallet\* - start with a fresh install, but copy & paste the wallet directory and start the client. Ok, Option 1 is the way to go! All good! Coin balance is correct and sitting at block 16448. password works fine, showing host etc. Conclusion: If you corrupt your data base, delete consensus file, Kill siad (if running) restart wallet, let it fully sync up, then unlock wallet. PS: I still don't see my file I had uploaded? not a biggy right now Just not sure after closing wallet again if we should just let siad process stay running? oh well.

Hey I tried the second option first, not much luck other than I was able to unlock the clean install of wallet. So I am back to my original wallet and deleted the consensus file and wallet began to update blocks etc. BUT, during that sync I went ahead and unlocked the wallet and it now seems that the blocks/wallet has have stopped syncing? and I do not see coins imported yet from legacy wallet nor do I see a file I uploaded. ok, just saw post where it says to allow full sync before unlocking lol Step 1 seems to work better than step 2. Will edit if I sync and see coins and stored data. Thanks! EDIT: just deleted consensus file again and killed siad. Restarted wallet but will allow it to scyn fully before unlocking... see if that prevents it from getting stuck syncing. The unlock.... there is also the issue of it slowing RIGHT DOWN with the sync process whenthe wallet is unlocked before it fully syncs ... taek mentioned this a little while ago - and it is still a bug in this version of the wallet too ... so chances are that it WILL sync - it will just mean you need to go on a holiday and come back before it finishes ... from what i can see from my wallet - its up to block 16446 ... #crysx lol, ya really,, well I am still syncing right now "ok" once done I will unlock and see how it goes in the meantime either a holiday or better yet, I am going to go make omelets and sausage gravy for me and my son

Ah good morning nothing like a good nights rest and a good cup of coffee before studying SIA wallet lol Boy this thread came to life overnight! lol Ok, I think I left off last night dealing with database corruption if I kill siad"
|
|
|
Hah, this is peculiar... I just went to copy my wallet.dat file from the "corrupted" wallet folder and its not there? its gone.. so where did it go? I guess this partially explains why I was getting that error message " siad exited with code: 0 ,, strange lol its not a .dat file anymore ... its a .json file ... so where the original .dat was - is now the .json file ... #crysx lol I just remembered that and had looked on that new wallet I was installing just now... I forgot But thx for that heads up... I'm about to fall asleep lol

Ah, I have been killing siad from task manager (after closing out wallet) since day 1 (as needed) with no problems until today after reopening my wallet... IF that even is the cause for sure? so suddenly doing that corrupts the database? how or why would anyone have known differently? I mean there should be a high level alert - "not to kill siad from task manager" if that's all it takes to corrupt your database lol, anyways I am installing another 4.2 on another PC ..its seems fine so far. Will experiment on that wallet see if I can corrupt it.

I couldn't get past block 16420, so I stopped the gui and killed the daemon. Now when I run it I get this error and it stops:
database guard indicates inconsistency within database
What to do?
Ya I am noticing now when I launch wallet I am getting a pop up message saying "siad exited with code: 0 What to do? lol And I have coins and a file in wallet Now 0.3.3.3 seems to load fine, siad included. Of course that wallet is now empty cause I did the load legacy wallet option yesterday. Weird because all was working so good. And yes I am closing out siad after starting 0.3.3.3. Even did a reboot 4.2 won't load up... it opens and that's it with that error code.

Loaded my wallet up just now, first time today since closing out last night. Now it opens and all, but is just sitting there as if its not connecting to the network? no peers, no balance, no host, no blocks, no addresses and when I click on LOCKED_STATE it does nothing. Anyone else seeing this after completely closing out SIA -UI? today? Seemed it closed and opened fine yesterday a few times after initial run and getting password etc.

Hello, I am mining on windows. The new wallet has a strange behaviour : - correct amount on "overview" (without the new block mined which is normal I presume) - On the wallet tab (the wallet is unlocked) : "Balance: Locked Pending: Locked Unlock" Is this normal?
Hey, yes I am seeing that as well in the wallet page. Not real sure why it looks like that. I think everyone most likely sees that as well right now. Mined blocks wont post until 144 blocks if I am thinking right lol still drinking my morning coffee

I don't think you need to use staging anymore you can now go directly to https://siafiles.com but there is only 1 file there as well. Hey thanks for that link. Will play with that one

Updated blocks, clicked on "unencrypted" in wallet page, got new password, saved it (copy and paste to word doc). Closed SIA out and killed "said" in task manager. Reloaded new wallet, clicked unlock, prompted for password, pasted my password and it unlocked.
Why is it called "unencrypted" ? Will it be more intuitive to call it something like "create a wallet" or "get your password"? lol I think" it said unencrypted or something like that, someone correct me if I'm wrong. I was going on memory since we only get one chance to see what it says Once clicked it generates pass.. anyways" long as it works

Just downloaded the wallet... very nice, I'm liking this project more and more
Ya agree! the new wallet is great. I just uploaded my first mp3 lol. Was trying out the share feature, pretty cool. This is going to be really good (SIA) as it keeps getting better. I just fired up a miner on 4.2, so far so good. Seems to be hashing just fine.

Please someone explain why I see only once the new address that I created? I neglected to write it down and now I do not know! How to see who? Is there a problem to use the old wallet of version 0.3.3.3 to version 0.4.2. At least I know it. Compatible Are? Thanks!
Are you referring to an SIA address (send and receive) or the new SIA password that is generated at first when you encrypt your new wallet? I mean SIA address (send and receive)! Ya it would be in your address list if you don't see it, but you may not spot it real easy or just create another one or I think you could use one from your address list as well.... so..

Still 0 confirmation of the 20 test coins sent to poli? I suppose hash rate could be real low that may explain it? EDIT: 3 of 6 confirms! All confirmed

New wallet works perfect. Updated blocks, clicked on "unencrypted" in wallet page, got new password, saved it (copy and paste to word doc). Closed SIA out and killed "said" in task manager. Reloaded new wallet, clicked unlock, prompted for password, pasted my password and it unlocked. Next, I went to "load legacy wallet", the file window opened, pointed to 0.3.3.3 directory and found the wallet.dat, opened and new wallet shows may balance carried over in the overview page of wallet. I tested and sent 20 SIA coin to Poloniex, was ask if I was sure, clicked yes and it said sent to SIA network. Coin appeared shortly thereafter on Poloniex. (0 of 6 blocks confirmed) lol Great job Taek! Thx
