1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) | Pure PoS | Original COMM MultiPools Coming Soon on: September 28, 2014, 12:30:17 PM
This coin has been tagged for participation in Project XUC :- Project XUC

The dev of COMM has stated that he will give remaining bounty coins to a reviver of the coin. Perhaps you are well placed ?
1202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Notice:: PROJECT X, Come Join the Movement on: September 28, 2014, 12:25:38 PM

I now have daily snapshots of 78 coins

Is there a list of which coins you have snapshots of and the dates you took them of?

Yes :  A regular update post with the full list of coins would help you to generate interest in this thread. List the coins with their abbreviations (tickers) as well as full names.  Snapshot dates for each blockchain , and extra detail can be added later.
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Notice:: PROJECT X, Come Join the Movement on: September 28, 2014, 12:23:14 PM
1) Limited redeem time

I like this idea cause it give everyone else less possibility to claim and it increases your total % in reality while keeping it low on paper!

LOL, yup gives the scammer more coins while having the appearance of legitimacy. Cheesy

Have you checked the code on this project ?
1204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) | Pure PoS | Original COMM MultiPools Coming Soon on: September 28, 2014, 12:21:47 PM
watching this coin
nothing to see here atm.
I hope some capable dev see the potential of this coin, does a takeover and brings new drive to the coin.
It's far from dead and still traded with some volume on big exchanges like bter.

Have a look at project XUC. The principle is interesting, and projects similar to it will lead to the revival, and then consolidation, of coins like COMM.
1205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN] Unique Most Advanced Anonymous Trustless Multisig Technology on: September 28, 2014, 11:53:09 AM
@SUPERCOINTEAM
hello bro,
Can you answer me please i getting bored with this hard to get game....
I
Know you dont want to do anything right, so give me the chance i can do a lot if u let me....answer some question tell the dev to post and we will be ok Smiley

Do u like ppl talking for a take over ? Sad
Cone on say something its the weekend  at least write  a little info

Peace
Cryptobull

The best way forward is to make your suggestions to the community at large, get feedback , promote and you may assume control in that way.

The original dev. will either join in or eventually the community will find a direction itself. New ideas and active promotions always attract dormant posters and holders. Many people have multiple coin interests, and they can only concentrate on a few at a time: they choose the ones where there is new activity apparent. (this may also be the case for the dev. : we don't know how many coins he is working on)

Supercoin is working fine atm.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ECCoin (ECC) Community Has Taken Over! [Griffith Is Now The Dev] on: September 27, 2014, 11:22:04 PM
I see good mood around overall progress so far. So let me append some more motivation:

To pioneers I urge to help/review/comment over the ECC Source Code...

To traders please do help over daily vote...
- Vote for ECC over BTer exchange: https://bter.com/voting#ECC [#35]

I have asked cryptsy to include ECC/LTC market again.

Do we really need a LTC market? Maybe we can shake off all LTC markets and get back to BTC. I like a ECC/BTC market on Cryptsy..

BTC market would be dead at below 1 sat.
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - High Fast Stake - Version 1.5 Beta Release 2 - Full S4C on: September 27, 2014, 09:22:29 AM
Wow, this project is still alive and kicking?

This was my first proof of stake coin where I actually used the wallet. Such fond memories Smiley

Pretty sure I still have some on ice somewhere. Keep up the good work  Grin

This one is very much alive, and kicking more than most of its age !
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHARE]ShareCoin - Pure POS - The only coin backed up by a real bussiness on: September 26, 2014, 10:47:16 PM
Can't sync wallet!  Sad

Thats because the blockchain is dead. You don't need it.
1209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AnimeCoin [アニメコイン] ANI on: September 25, 2014, 09:52:19 PM

..and I am sure Alibaba will have a manufacturer for them soon !

Good to see exchange trade gradually rising.
1210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Notice:: PROJECT X, Come Join the Movement on: September 25, 2014, 05:25:14 PM
actually, I am confused how it work exactly. How? In short word.

S C A M

Not necessarily..

Similar to Lottoshares : coins are allocated to addresses copied from the other blockchains...private keys can sign and unlock the coins without being compromised.

The software is open source.

BARWIZI IS A SCAMMER!  BEWARE!!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789290.0

You shouldn't say this stuff in this thread.

It is for everyone to make their own judgement.
1212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Crypto! [POW PHASE STARTED] on: September 24, 2014, 11:58:00 AM
for starters there should be a more lively discussion in this thread to keep it on top of the ANN page.

going by other coins examples i would say the most effective marketing is to swarm out and spread the word everywhere on the web. twitter, facebook, reddit and whatever else there is.
we need an army of 'footsoldiers', fun memes, well done animated videos, some artwork to spread and show the possibilies of the tech. its important to explain on how to utilize the coins unique features in a fun and easy way.

a reddit add campaign would be good, if we can come up with a good slogan and some artwork. maybe something along the lines of 'explore the world and hunt for treasures' and some cool pirate treasure artwork to go with it.

edit: what we should not do is spam bitcointalk with useless threads.
are there any other major crypto forums? if so we need threads there and someone to maintain them.

edit2: how about a bounty for the best ideas? you were going to pay a marketing firm for this. doesn't have to be much.

+1

All good ideas.
1213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Crypto! [POW PHASE STARTED] on: September 24, 2014, 09:04:14 AM
Hello Checkcoin enthusiasts,

Even though we have been working on PR for a while. Today officially marks the start of our PR phase!

Things we are working on right now:

Creating a promotional video for Checkcoin.
Updating the Checkcoin websites.
Updating the Checkcoin blog.
Updating the Checkcoin Facebook page.
Setting up a Reddit channel for Checkcoin.
Translating the Bitsend website to English.
Updating the Bitsend website with more information about Checkcoin.

We feel that right now these are the things that require our attention first. We are still waiting for some quotations from PR firms and have been speaking to several PR firms that could help with the promotion of Checkcoin. Unfortunately we have not yet spoken to any PR firm that has been able to convince us that they are capable of promoting a cryptocurrency like Checkcoin. This has everything to do with the fact that most PR firms we have been speaking to don't even know what Bitcoin is. Because of this, we believe that it might be a better idea to use our already strong community to come up with great ideas that will promote Checkcoin.

For now we would like to ask you a very simple question: What would you like to see happen to promote Checkcoin?

Bitsend

You should do a preliminary paid pressrelease via http://www.prweb.com/ it will cost $500
All PRweb releases are picked up by Yahoo finance and other large news outlets. That will give people on Twitter an easy way to share links to articles and create a little buzz.

Make sure your pressrelease is well written and checked for spelling errors. You might want to set a bounty for having native English speakers proofread it and correct grammar and sentence structure.
Also emphasize the fact that Checkcoin is the linking pin between crypto and real world applications, this is key.

After the initial distribution via PRweb you can look for PR firms.

If you send the press release to me by PM I will proofread it for English grammar and syntax etc..
1214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CrazyLoaf's CrazySteak(TM) High PoS Investment Journal on: September 24, 2014, 12:14:51 AM
Looks like HBN  is on the upswing  Smiley

I think the floor of hbn was .00005, but will rise steadily until a new floor of .00009 or o.0001. That's another great thing I like about pos coins...there is big incentive to buy at the floor because its a fairly save investment, wheresas pow clins , if they hit a floor and you can't stake, there is much less chance they will have a resurgence. (I.e greater incentive to buy cheap pos coins than cheap pow coins, because the pos ability encourages more purchases just for the pos ability alone, which means less likely to ever fall to a new floor.)

To the hbn crowd: if you have big holdings I recommend putting a few k on cryptsy at around these levels, as just stimulates the market overall. It can be discouraging for potential buyers that want to get hbn but seeing nothing much available at around market price. (0.0000+/-2)

Agree...

There is a decent quantity (10,000) offered at around .00008 right now. It is a good opportunity for entry.
1215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CrazyLoaf's CrazySteak(TM) High PoS Investment Journal on: September 24, 2014, 12:09:02 AM
Guys, I will mention Super one more time, its lowest price ever and worth some gambling money you can aford to lose if it goes bad.
It wouldnt cost much to pick up enough for their POR, if the coin turns out good, it will bring a substansial return on investment...
I took the gamble myself.

Happy staking

Thanks for the update. I would say to anyone who is new to high PoS or doesn't have the funds to risk to not make SUPER their coin of choice. To get the 100k for Proof of Rich, which is not yet confirmed, will cost almost 1+ BTC, depending on what prices you can pick them up for. I'd say build a portfolio of the 4 coins mentioned in the thread, or, if you REALLY want to go all in on one, pick Hyperstake (HYP).

Stake alone won't carry a coin, and the 100% level is pretty crowded atm. I've already lost a good amount (0.5+ BTC) on SUPER myself to pick up like 20k or so Tongue

The coins are generally priced according to risk.. and Super is fair value, being much cheaper than the others. I always like to trade binary outcomes, because the rewards are much greater for success : there is a way of managing the failures to get a little capital back.
1216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: September 23, 2014, 01:35:29 PM
Is a web based wallet available for ViaCoin or only a desktop version?

i think "only" desktop

Clearwallet(https://clearwallet.co).

Yes : Clearwallet : Web wallet, client side password etc, for VIA and XCH
1217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ECCoin (ECC) Community Has Taken Over! [Griffith Is Now The Dev] on: September 22, 2014, 04:37:25 PM
@griffith

look at this....that would be a game changer

Project XUC

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=791338

this is great but sharing private key does not seem to be good idea...

As I noted, there will be a shapshot of the blockchain for each coin at a fixed date. Private keys can be used after coins are transferred to another address.

The use of the private keys is actually fairly safe (depending on a check of the software), but transfer to another address will satisfy security worries.
1218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Notice:: PROJECT X, Come Join the Movement on: September 22, 2014, 04:34:44 PM
I don't know if this has been said or not. Tired, long day and don't want to read every sentence.

1) Snapshot is taken.
2) Move your coins to another wallet.
3) Use private keys from original wallet that had your coins during the snapshot.

Problem solved.  Wink

Yeah I already figured out that this was a decent solution however I am unclear whether or not every address is being implemented from all included coins because having to do something like that poses its own problems not to mention the inconvience of having to move coins that would otherwise receive PoS and now resetting your coin age

You wouldn't be moving coins by inputing your private key into his wallet.  You'd be showing him that you own the coins and you'd also be exposing those coins to security risks.  You could move your coins to a new wallet after the snapshot, yes.  But when the snapshot is taken would be decided by barwizi or his people while they potentially control your keys thru their software.  This leaves enough time for your keys to be exposed and your coins to be stolen.  If the pillage process is automated then it only takes a few seconds.

Problem NOT solved.  Wink

Problem is solved.

1. Snapshot is taken of your BTC address XYZ with 100BTC balance
2. Move your BTC to new address ABC from XYZ -> essentially moving any coins from your original private key to new private key.
3. Input your private key from bitcoin wallet for XYZ (which now has 0 balance) into project X wallet.

That way even if the project x wallet has bad intentions (which I don't believe it would) by the time you input your original XYZ private key there would be no balance to steal anyway.

Totally fail safe. Just quite a hassle to move all your coins from all the various wallets to new private keys after the snapshot....

Thanks

For the issue you raise, i guess it's up to the user to decide if they want all their coins Smiley

Of course its a snapshot  at a selected date. The date needs to be set for each coin, or globally.

How many coins are you intending to incorporate ?  There are scores of big communities (by length of BTCtalk thread) where the coins have low market cap.
1219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH | Proof of Stake & COIN CONTROL | On Cryptsy | 0 PREMINE on: September 22, 2014, 08:51:41 AM

Is CASH dead?

This makes me very very sad.

It is (or will be) one of the many casualties of the Great Extinction of altcoins. I believe we are entering that process, and it is best for supporters to pick their currencies carefully. Good ideas, technicals are not enough. Collaborations between successful coins are the best way to survive.

1220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Crypto! [POW PHASE STARTED] on: September 22, 2014, 08:45:38 AM
Bter volume is small. You need to add to the bittrex.

I cannot see Checkcoin on Bittrex. Do you have a link ?

read.. its not on Bittrex yet..

OK,thanks, yes, English grammar error : interpreted 'add to the bittrex..' as add volume together. Bittrex is a higher volume exchange.
