Well, I can't speak from experience but, according to the article from TechInAsia¹, the real used panties vending machines (and shops) disappeared over a decade ago; however, it seems the "super used kakou" panties (that is, panties manufactured to appear used) can still be found in sex shops, and going by the video I posted above, sometimes hidden within other types of shops.

But, of course, while those might be harder to find in physical shops nowadays, their online counterparts seem to be doing well.

I suppose he means: an account that might not have a great post history (as in, the post quality might be poor, making it harder to use in joining signature campaigns), might have been banned in the past (so, potentially incurring in greater penalties if it gets banned again), and if you have no escrow to check it for you, perhaps with negative trust as well.

At any rate, even if the general idea is right, comparing the rating of a computer chess program with a human player directly doesn't tend to work very well, due to the way ratings are calculated¹ - basically, there aren't enough high profile computer versus human matches for that to provide very accurate information by itself (though, again, it's undisputed that computer engines can be much stronger than human players).

Pretty much - Possum577's point seemed somewhat of a meaningless distinction to make here, when any way to acquire BTC (or just about anything else, really) will require users to spend a minimum amount of time and effort (even if just to provide a Bitcoin address for a giveaway, as you suggested), and whether or not someone considers them free may depend only on how much time/effort/whatever they are willing to spend for it - some consider faucet rewards free and worthwhile; some many others consider them a waste of time and money (money that could more easily be acquired elsewhere).

By the way, AnimeFanJohnLee, there is an online game you might want to try out: PipsTycoon - it's still in Beta (so, expect a lot of bugs), but it allows you to withdraw the money you make in-game to real currency (through several means, including Bitcoin). Now, it won't give you anywhere near the amounts of BTC you're looking for, but it's a nice extra (for me at least; I'm currently making about $0.80 a day), and it requires almost no time to play (unless you have started / manage a lot of companies).

Yes, I suppose you're right; the admins should be able to stop any such attempts if needed, by directly resetting the account's password and email. This should allow cryptopaths to still access his account and perform whatever business he needs, even if it won't provide privacy; although, the terms can be rearranged so there would be no need to provide access information to the lender, relying only on the admins to transfer the account in case of default. Still, I imagine they might be somewhat reluctant to get involved like this - have there been any cases where they have intervened in this fashion?

As for the value of the collateral itself, I have no idea; I still remember Hero Member accounts being worth more than 1 BTC, but I guess that has changed a lot since.

Yes, of course, the person holding the account will be able to read through your private information and change things¹; however, you won't, because your account would have no value as collateral if you could access, and potentially recover it, unilaterally.

EDIT2: yes, definitely not the case; I just noticed blockchain.info adds a warning after "Estimated Confirmation Time", clearly stating it if a transaction spends an input which is unconfirmed.

Unfortunately, censuring those posts won't help the uninformed public suddenly become informed - it will only ensure one side of the argument is heard, while the other isn't. Personally, I'd rather see those posts, and the ideas they expose (regardless of how much I might disagree with them, or how fundamentally wrong they might actually be), challenged and defeated in an open, rational debate.

I'm not sure how Facebook goes about showing edited posts (I very rarely go there) but, for the most part, you're right - users here can't usually see what has been edited in/out of a post (and in fact, as Muhammed Zakir pointed out, you won't even know a post was edited, if it occurred within 10 minutes of posting).
