1741  Economy / Services / Re: FastBets Signature Campaign ★ Earn Up To 0.08 BTC! on: June 13, 2015, 09:55:29 AM
I can't see any negative trust, lol..

Could that perhaps be because you changed your trust list? With the Default Trust list, I see you at "Trust: -4: -2 / +0 Warning: Trade with extreme caution!". At any rate, you have valid negative trust from hedgy73, and John (John K.) - both trusted at a depth level of 2.

Too bad that payments are rather low, they aren't inclined to use escrow (especially considering this is a monthly campaign), and the required post count per month is somewhat high. Roll Eyes

EDIT: disregard this post - FastBets have updated their signature campaign. Please see the following post instead: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.msg11626837#msg11626837.
1743  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitco.in - is it even worth it? on: June 13, 2015, 02:37:29 AM
how long have faucets been around?

were there faucets when BTC was worth 15$?

I want to know, because when btc was still at a low value, faucets probably paid out much higher amounts of btc.

what was only pennies a few years ago would be quite a lot now.

it would be the only time faucets have been worth the hassle and time... I guess if btc goes to the moon there will be some happy present day faucet users out there.

Take for example the following thread, started by giantdragon, in 2011, relating to his ad sponsored faucet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=32532.0. Initially, the faucet seems to have been giving out somewhere between 0.0005 btc and 0.005 btc per hour - definitely not bad, going by today's prices - and I'm sure others paid out even more.

By the way, nice leet post count (are you deleting posts to keep it at leet?). Smiley

You would probably get more if you got a job and then bought BTC with money from the job.
It is true. But if you consider that they are giving money away for free.
I must say this is the best faucet ever.

But, unless you have referrals working for you, the coins you get from the faucet aren't really free, are they? You still have to pay for them with the cost of electricity to keep your computer running, and more importantly, with your time and energy - time and energy which could be better spent doing something productive, instead of solving captchas for a living. And has mallard pointed out, you would probably be getting a lot more coins that way. Tongue
1744  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk AVATAR Campaigns [11-Jun-2015] on: June 13, 2015, 01:46:16 AM
Thanks for this, I'm looking for a campaign right now, actually.  I believe bit-x also has their avatar campaign, but is currently closed. (still might to want to add it as reference)

I think this is the link for the Bit-X avatar campaign, azguard (I don't think a more recent one has been started): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1024258 - the rates aren't the same for everyone however; they are to be negotiated with marcotheminer.

Also, Squallcoin increased its monthly payment to 0.012 btc, back in May:

upped a touch to 0.012.

I will bump every few days in case anyone want's to help out.

Best.
1745  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cost of Bitcointalk Accounts. on: June 13, 2015, 12:39:54 AM
[...]

I think that has been answered close to a million times already, in this thread alone, real789. Tongue

I think users with high trust ratings shouldn't be allowed to sell their accounts - the only purpose the buyer would have (99% of the time) would be for scamming.

What if they've just lost interest in the BTC scene?

I don't think there's any way of stopping sales and the subsequent abuse of trust. Perhaps there could be some type of voluntary and ongoing pgp verification that the account is linked to the person who earned the trust.

I'm sure that would make it quite inconvenient to sell, as well own, those accounts (and raise their price considerably); but, in the end, it still wouldn't stop those accounts from being sold, unfortunately - nor would it really prevent (at least, shorter term) scams from occurring.

Perhaps there is a "technological" solution to this problem, but I think the best solution is finding a way to encourage and educate users (especially newbies) about the need for them to do their own research and taking adequate precautions when parting with their money, instead of relying on a crutch.
1746  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: need 1 btc on: June 12, 2015, 10:04:23 PM
Can  help loan me for 1 btc?
Interest 20% for 3 montly
Reason: mining for hashnest

It might be a good idea for you to offer some form of collateral for an escrow to hold; for example, some altcoins you might have - otherwise, I don't think anyone is going to loan you the 1 btc. For other types of collateral members here might accept, check the following thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0 (another form of collateral, not mentioned there, that some users may accept is forum accounts, though probably not for loan requests of this size).
1747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC in your country on: June 12, 2015, 05:45:46 PM
I try to educate, It's just shocking how many people believe the TV, without questioning anything  Shocked

In my experience it is the same everywhere. The pleb is not exploited without reason. They are fucking dumb.

That's quite the over-generalization (and pretty unfair), isn't it?

Is it really surprising "the plebs", after a long day at work, have neither the time, nor the energy to look into what's going on behind each story they see on the news? Also, you can complain about people being "dumb", but what education are most of them actually receiving? Most countries don't have real education - only some inept training to pass tests and eventually get whatever job people can find.

And ultimately, this way of thinking seems counterproductive to me: giving up on the mass of people because they can't understand Bitcoin yet (or what other alternatives they have available to them) just ensures we limit ourselves to our own little bubble, and that the narrative they see on the mainstream media goes unchallenged.
1748  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fun facts on: June 12, 2015, 04:35:46 PM

I guess it wouldn't be as bad if he had, at least, chosen a good post to copy. Tongue

"Coca Cola was originally green" - From their site: "This is indeed just a rumor. Although the famous contour bottle is green, Coca-Cola has always been brown in color, since its start in 1886."

"Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair" - This is quite vague (intelligent people as determined by IQ test results, successful lives, accomplishments, or what exactly?), and as far as I know, there is no scientific backing for anything like it. At most, it could be indirectly related to people suffering from lead poisoning.

"Honey is the only food that doesn't spoil" - Not only can it spoil if it's left unsealed, but it isn't the only food capable of lasting indefinitely if well kept; examples include: several types of rice, salt, sugar, hard liquor, and a few others.
1749  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk AVATAR Campaigns [11-Jun-2015] on: June 12, 2015, 03:03:10 PM
Thanks for starting an Avatar Campaign overview thread, azguard - I thought about doing something like this myself, but decided I was too lazy for that. Cheesy

By the way, how about adding information on whether or not escrow is being used in these campaigns? Also, are you planning on adding any information on mixed campaigns, that ask you to use their avatar in addition to their signature - like LuckyBit, for example? The Signature Campaign overview thread might be a more appropriate place for this, but as it isn't currently included there, I thought you might want to consider at least including a small indication for these.
1750  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Time, technology, numbers, and perceptions on: June 11, 2015, 07:57:00 PM
Back in the early 90s when I ran a dial-up BBS in a small town, I would have been surprised and happy if one of the many shareware files on the BBS was ever downloaded more than one or two hundred times. Today, I see how many times the high-res versions of my photos on morgueFile have been downloaded -- around 175,000 -- and feel disappointed.

When I first started writing novels in the late 70s (yeah, yeah... showing how old I am), I would have been very happy if I could have had even a couple dozen people read what I'd written, and all of them would have been local to me. Now, the first novel that I published on Amazon has been downloaded for free thousands of times by people all over the world (you can get a copy via the link in this thread) -- but I'm disappointed.

As recently as the beginning of this century, I could have reasonably reached out to a hundred people or so, maybe a little more. Now, with multiple social networks, I can reach out to thousands in my first and second degrees of separation. Yet... I'm disappointed my reach is so limited.

I was always a little fish in a big sea, and I'm still a little fish, but maybe I'm just more aware of it now. Celebrities like Emma Watson can potentially influence millions of people with a single Tweet. A popular author like Hugh Howey can post something on Wattpad and potentially have tens of thousands of people reading it in a matter of minutes or hours. I'm not even in the same ballpark... but I know people with less "reach" than what I have, so I can intellectually say that it's all a matter of scale... and still feel disappointed.

The passage of time, the advancement of technology, and the increase in a person's potential global reach can sure shift a person's perceptions.  Undecided

(Just some ramblings....)

Is it really all a matter of scale though? I can understand your desire to be able to reach more people - it's a validation of sorts - but isn't who you reach equally, if not more, important? I mean, would you really be happy reaching the same millions of people that Emma Watson reaches? Wouldn't the message you have for them have to be different, and would you want it to be, just for the opportunity to reach them?

It's perhaps a bit off-topic here, but this kind of reminds me of something Noam Chomsky often says: he started out giving his public presentations to a couple of neighbors here and there, and later maybe in a church with some four people attending - the priest, one or two people that wandered in from outside to escape the cold, and someone who wanted to kill him. Smiley Needless to say how popular he and his message is now - many, many decades after he first started.

Please add me on skype. (Name is in thread)
And then I will get some info that I need from you and add you on the list.

Hmm, I don't really use Skype, and to be honest, I would rather keep this "forum only" and as anonymous as possible - for now, at least. But feel free to PM me to discuss any details.
1752  Economy / Securities / Re: Looking for investors. on: June 11, 2015, 05:32:07 PM
Yup, get the shares while they last.
The second the last one is bought, this  will start and go live within 10 days.

Oh well, why not? Please reserve 1 share for me as well. Smiley
1753  Economy / Securities / Re: Looking for investors. on: June 11, 2015, 11:34:30 AM
Hey everyone.

I am looking for someone that wants to invest into my site.

200$ is needed for this to happen.

The 200$ will give you a share worth 20% of the profits made.
These 20% can be sold all the way down to 1%.

1 Share costs 10$ and will give 1% of the site profit.

Shares for sale: 20.

If you are interested in investing, then PM me and I will give you some info about the project.

Skype: HamukiLS
PM me
Or Post below.

~Hamuki

I might also be interested in this - if you are still looking for investors, feel free to PM me as well. However, it would be nice if the OP had a bit more information, rather than just how much we could profit from this. Tongue
1754  Other / Off-topic / Re: Master of Orion - Announcement Trailer :-D ! on: June 10, 2015, 06:07:57 PM
MOO was a great game.

They should be doing more reboots like this, however they might screw it up. That's my concern. Hopefully they focus on modernizing graphics and working on the AI.

I'd love to see many games simply revamped with better graphics, but developers all too often mess with perfection in an attempt to make it "new".

I have to admit, the first few seconds of the trailer got me worried, graphics wise. Cheesy

Now, it seems the team that's going to do the remake includes some of the people involved in the original Master of Orion series, so that should be good news - as in, it will hopefully not turn into another Master of Orion III (for those who didn't play it, it was probably the worst of the series). Still, I'd prefer it if they went on to include more options in the game, more in the style of the Space Empires series, as opposed to just revamping the graphics and AI of the original.

because im member, and no more slot to member for high payment

im join bitcointalk 1 year but im not know and not interesting about signature campaign that why i'm lose more activity
my friend invite me to join Bit-X but my rank is low, that why i choose yobit,

i have question, can i get Sr. member or hero Quickly ? if i can creat 15post/day for 1week

I might be wrong, but I'm under the impression that the Secondstrade's signature campaign is still accepting members (Junior Member and higher ranks) - payment is still low, but it's almost double what YoBit is paying you at the moment (per post).

In relation to you being able to regain enough activity to reach Senior Member, it seems possible: you'd need a minimum of 240 total posts, assuming you were relatively active in the forum this last year, which appears to be the case - Hero Member however, would require you to have been registered, and active, for longer than what you were. But I would advise against trying to do it at the pace you're suggesting, unless you really have that many constructive posts to contribute to the forum; if you don't, you'll likely end up being banned for spamming.
1756  Economy / Lending / Re: Need loan 0.12 BTC with collateral on: June 05, 2015, 07:25:36 PM
So ran out of coins today after lending 'em myself. I could also offer collateral by depositing the FULL amount of BTC loaned to me in USD into your paypal (as a personal payment/payment owed), until the BTC are repaid. thank you.

No newbies, I can do a full/senior member here. I will be depositing first.

loan_amount: 0.12BTC
your_reason: MicroInvesting
your_address: 15nZJJzEzD55JiRhLsvyh9j29GmV9b8qeG
number_of_days_for_repaying: In 7 days MAX

Unfortunately, I don't think a lot of users will be willing to consider the Paypal payment as valid collateral - after all, it's all too easy to reverse Paypal payments, unlike Bitcoin transactions. Perhaps it would be best if you could provide collateral in the form of altcoins.
1757  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Welcome to Earth on: June 02, 2015, 11:31:56 AM
You have read scientists statistics, we have something in the region of ''75 thousand million million'' stars/suns in our universe and they reside in around 400 billion galaxies the number of planets is uncountable, We are one planet with life and how many more are there?  Roll Eyes We are not alone that is a statistical impossibility, but... How vast is the universe we will never even get out of our one galaxy in our life time until new tech is created but we could have destroyed ourselves by then. Nasa has a world flag because they know something we don't know  Tongue The guy was right above the ''flower of life''

I don't think NASA (or any official entity) has chosen this flag to represent Earth - fortunately, because it's quite ugly. Tongue

Also, do we actually need a flag? What will it distinguish us from? It's not like we've found any alien life yet, and even when/if that happens, I'm sure there will be a lot more differences than just the colors and patterns in a piece of cloth.
1758  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Selling my top reputation Freelancer.com account on: June 02, 2015, 11:09:33 AM
Anyone interested in buying a freelancer.com account?
3+ years old, 5 star reputation, $20.000+ earned to date.
My business has grown and now I get my clients directly through my website. I don't need my freelancer account anymore and I don't have time to access it anymore either.
This account is a good investment for individuals / companies that want to start taking projects right away.

You should probably add the areas you worked on with that account - a programmer's account, for example, won't necessarily be as much of an advantage to, say, a writer. Also, aren't you concerned about the possibility of your account being misused (intentionally or otherwise), and that reflecting negatively on your business? I imagine some of your old clients might still be reached, or might themselves try contacting the account for additional work.

Finally, and don't take this personally robertlukka, but to anyone interested in this, make sure the account wasn't hacked, and that the account can't be easily returned to the seller somehow.

Can't you use the gifting option? I thought gifts are non reversible in PayPal? Could be wrong though, but is worth checking out.

Hmm, to be honest, I've never really used Paypal a lot, but I'm under the impression it makes no difference whatsoever if you send it as a gift - it can always be reversed.

I haven't read the full thread, but that is discussed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=14632.0.

A quote from one of the posts there:

If they send you the payment as a gift (there is an option to do so), they CANNOT charge you back / get a refund.

Not true. They can fund their PayPal account with ACH, which is reversible. If they reverse this ACH transfer, PayPal will take back the funds.

Gift payments can also be made directly with a credit card, which is even easier to chargeback.
