Nobody cares about Maxcoin in this threat anymore?
Diff has increased 2folds and the price 4folds as well.
Mine this while it is still possible, my cudaminer folks, my prediction is it will explode again soon.

I was able to mine 1k Maxcoin in few days when the price so low and the diff low as well. I mined and won't sell a single coin.

Yesterday when the price was increased 5folds I sold a few coins to cover my lost in the last few days. Keep the rest for the next explodes.

might give it a try again, the R9 290x has just arrived... and it has a backplate... (the real question being why the gtx780ti doesn't have one...)

R9 290x are awful to mine. Too much expensive and consumes too much power.

these price hikes are usually called pump and dump :-)
Huge market manipulation by a few heavyweights (whales)...

Of course they are pump and dump. But you made money from it? I assume you all are miner, aren't you? Sorry if some of you are investors. I rather invest in my hardware to mine than invest in some coins. Too much risk. Have lost a lot because I truly believed in some coins and bought a few.

People who complain so much could I ask how old are you?

Did you expect the dev having so much free time to develop a coin for you to mine, to trade to earn money and promote the coin so hard to make you rich ??
She has her real life to and need to earn money to survive. This coin has no premined too. If you want to promote this coin, donate all your mined coins to the dev.
Or shut up.

Hey Christian,

Maxcoin's price has increased 3folds. You see, I told you before.  Grin. It's very profitable now.

I think I will give up solomine this coin truly.
60 cores for the whole day and found nothing  Grin
Good luck people.

Harder to get MRC and the price still the same. Gonna hold it for a while and it will explode like VTC. Very nice coins.
Btw who still mining Maxcoin right now?

I bought some VTC at 0.005 and now they're at 0.004. Hmm

MRC: my stash is at 32 millions now. Good that I mined them while they were still easy Wink

Maxcoin: don't even mention... This currency is done for.  Ah, the memories of good times.

Christian

I don't think so. It is still profitable if you mine with AMDs. And it requires less power. VTC will rise again. Now everything goes slowly because bad news with BTC. But next week after bitstamp back to normal it will back again.
I got 18mil MRCs after 3 days. It's much harder now. IMO scrypt coins are done for. Even DOGE will die.
1809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 12, 2014, 07:07:24 PM

So what is everyone mining right now?

I am mining some MicroCoin at the moment because I find the coin has potential.

A newly setup rig for a friend is test-mining Yacoin on some low end cards until the six GTX 660Ti cards arrive.

Christian

Me too, Christian. But diff is almost double since few days. Harder to get MRC and the price still the same. Gonna hold it for a while and it will explode like VTC. Very nice coins.

1810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RIC] Riecoin launched - Thank you! status, lessons learned and what's next on: February 12, 2014, 04:59:43 PM
Great launch!

yeah especially for those with server farms or botnets

wasn't very wise decision to launch without any pool in existance

I was really looking forward to Riecoin and this 'fair launch' thingy but now it's just a shame

The dev admit his flaws and want to improve it. I don't have a CPU farm but IMO this coin is very fair, and the dev too. Will support it.

2x Xeon (716598 knumbers/s) got 0 accepted  Embarrassed Embarrassed

Forget to solomine now people. My 12-cores Xeon need average 10 days to found a block. Waiting for a pool. Anyone has contact to ypool or xpool could contact them. Potential CPU-coin like riecoin would get support from them.

Lucky one. How is your total knumbers/s ?
15,575,660

So I should give up this coin now  Grin. I have 1/100 of your hash and you don't even get 1 RIC, how high should I hope.  Tongue

2 blocks to go

Yep and diff goes up to 460. It will be hard.

ig0tik3d would you release a better miner soon ? Grin

Gatra is just moron, because he did not check build of wallet for Windows. New PrimeCoin ? Hahaha...It is simple usual next scamshitcoin.

No he's not. He learned from the best. Max Keiser.

You don't release a Windows wallet until you've mined the crap out of it yourself.

Linux-only is the new pre-mine. The only way to win is not to Windows.

+1

Very nice start. I will support this coin.
I managed to mine 3 blocks  Grin. We have 150 blocks to go.

This coin is difficult to mine because people can only solomine now. Pool for primecoin, datacoin has proven to be very difficult to set up. Expect riecoin is the same. So although I hate solomining, somehow my client only accept 4 connections from other PCs, it is the only way to mine riecoin now.

Put this into your riecoin.conf

rpcthreads=10

Doesnt have to be 10, just >= the number of miners you have.

That's what I'm looking for. Thanks so much.  Grin

- Calculating prime number with GPU is a given problem from long ago. Almost a few decades and nobody was able to do it. I don't think we will have it soon.

I wouldn't make so broad statements.

I have implemented a GPU accelerated sieve of erathostenes myself as a tutorial project, and it was faster than on the CPU. But it was for small prime numbers (think <  2^^32) and the acceleration wasn't that great.

But doing the same for BIG numbers (integers with 1024 bits or so) requires specialized maths libraries, ported over to GPU. This is effort.

there is prior art in this area though: the gpuPrime and prime grid projects (I think its a Boinc project). Maybe one could take some inspiration from there (and also code, license permitting)

Christian

You're right, there are some improvements in this field but in general it doesn't improve much for a few decades. Prime number is still tough for GPU, except we totally change the current GPU design.
Sorry if I made some broad statements but IMO it is still nothing in comparison with the speed up of another GPUminers
