Well it's been fun guys but the difficulty just shot up to 21,000 GG

I would have to agree. Its been fun messing around with cgminer and GPUs again, as brief as it was lol.

Yep even the diff shots up to 100k, if the price still holds it is super profitable in comparison to mine altcoins.
I never seen such a DDoS attack at this scale. even ypool and 1gh pool were doomed to die at least 100 times. Those poor boys.

1842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 08, 2014, 04:28:18 PM
I made a commit to the github repo that increases the size of some arrays in salsa_kernel.cu to prevent buffer overflow.
It should now be possible to pick larger kernel launch configurations without crashing the program.

I found that now I can use two times the number of CUDA cores as the blocks number in my kernel launch config
on my GTX 780. However the screen updates get a bit laggy now,.

I also commented out some MyStreamSynchronize() calls, so now the following cudaMemcpy() does an implicit synchronization
(however CUDA may use a busy polling mechanism here, taking more CPU).

Overall it's a bit faster for me now. GTX 780 -> 160 MHash. GT 660 Ti -> 115 MHash.  GT 640 -> 30 MHash
numbers before were 140, 100, 25

those who know how to compile themselves can already benefit from these changes.

Thanks Christian for your hard work. Today is your birthday and you still working.
But again I think we lost our advantage. My GTX 780 which costs 500 Euro able to do 180Mhs.
My R9 280x which costs 300 Euro can 330Mhs.

Again AMD wins in this crypto-race. Damn I feel so bad for nVidia.
1843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 08, 2014, 03:05:26 PM
best bet right now, is to solo mine waiting for a ddos attack on the pool... (well on ypool)

state your hashrate before we can decide if you are delusional or not !
Yes I am delusional 300Mhash

I have the same...

Yes you are hoping to get EXTERMELY lucky.... I seriously hope you are !

I know math better, but then even pool mining is getting scary as I just said.

edit :

we are somewhat polluting the topic dedicated to cudaminer :/

I have 8Ghs in total and don't even think about solo mine. You guys are very brave.
1844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 08, 2014, 12:17:12 PM
I just discover one truth. No one DDoSed the pool. It is us who bring all the big pool down. Look at the hashrates now Cheesy

We need a google spreadsheet for Keccak !

Did someone said spreadsheet?  Cheesy

cudaMiner Keccak (SHA-3) hashrates Survey

cudaMiner Keccak (SHA-3) hashrates Spreadsheet

Have at it! A couple of ATI/AMD entries for comparison would be nice I think.

I got 330Mhs for my R9 280x.

Diff is over 11000 Smiley))))

Ok let's share knowledge !

After having tried ALL the pools for 12 hours I can safely say the most reliable in term of reward is smalltimeminer.com where I only get 0-5% rejects !

Best config for GTX670 : cudaminer.exe --algo=keccak -i 0 -m 1 -L 128 -l K1344x32
small tweaks possible but minimal gains, would test more but starting too many times can get you temp ban on some pools it seems, could be ddos preventing me from connecting again though...
It WILL say insufficient memory when starting but this is the best speed and reward friendly setting I've tried so far !

If this help anyone do not hesitate to share :  mf1VTxBVu6kvcSpPdZMmkrwf4Q9c1Gawxv

Happy birthday Christian, get better soon man !

smalltimeminer.com downs. I hope stratum server doesn't get affected. Every pools out there are down because of DDoS, except ypool.net. To be honest I never like ypool but in this case I need to have more respect to the owner. Another theory is that hackers just avoid ypool  Grin

Nethashrate goes over 10000 Ghs. It is a gold rush fever.  Roll Eyes
1848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 08, 2014, 10:10:49 AM
Happy birthday Christian and thank you for all your work !

Difficulty just dropped to 2500 lol

It it just temporary because someone DDosed every big pool. I just see some big guy jumps in. He has 250 Ghs. Unbelievable !!

Edited: I can only partly connect to small pool and big pool.
1849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 08, 2014, 12:51:05 AM
I can confirm the cgminer_keccak works. 300mhs per 280x.
We nVidia folks don't have the advantage anymore.

Expected diff spike and price drops.

Btw happy birthday to Christian. Send you VTC and LTC as gift Grin
1850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 09:20:43 PM
You are working for us too hard Christian. Take a day break and enjoy your birthday.
I will send my donation on your birthday as a gift Cheesy

Btw FYI, I just got 20 Max from mining with http://maxcoinpool.com. Cannot compare to 1gh pool but now it is the only pool that works for me.

I long did you mine there and how many mh/s ?

I got 2Ghs in total  Grin But the pool is very unstable now so I got a lot of disconnects.
1851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 09:14:18 PM
christian, im waiting on a block confirm, how much are enough beers to get you shitfaced? :p
say and i will send some moneys when my new block is confirmed

really shouldn't get shitfaced tonight because I am having a bad cold, cough, headache etc.

Christian

Yeah I'm sad too Christian. But it can't be helped since Maxcoin is super profitable. But we have earned enough to make you a birthday party in Ibiza, Christian.

What time is it in your zone now Christian?

almost 10 PM. haven't been to Ibiza yet. ;-)  oh right, it's my birthday in 2 hours.  Just don't remind me that I am getting 40.

why did the difficulty just drop to 1693? it was above 3000 earlier.

Christian

Lol I won't, but we will wait and say happy birthday to you at the right time. So you live in Europe?

Diff goes down because the biggest pool ypool is down.
1853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 08:47:24 PM
is there GPU radeon miner for Maxcoin ? Cheesy

yes, but this thread is home of the nVidia CUDA fanboys. prepare for a beating ;-)

http://maxcoinpool.com/ downs right after found the first block  Grin

Nethash is 450Ghs and diff over 4000 already. Keep my last 500 MAX and will see the market Cheesy

Difficulty is over 4k already? what?!

It is expected since the new miner for AMD comes out. Nethash increases 20folds.

Here is the cgminer source for everyone with AMD cards.

well explained. but the price is still tied to what we as the sellers, sell them for. supply and demand, cut the supply down to high prices, does everyone stop buying them?
no, people buy them for a higher price expecting them to go up even more

You think the money supply is forever? Where does it come from ? You think who could pay you 500$ to 1000$ daily just mining with a few GPU cards ? I don't think it will last. So enjoy it while you still making profit. I have experienced the same with many altcoins.
1857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 07:45:33 PM
yes it is working but extremely low selling price.
unless everyone stops selling for so little and starts forcing prices up this coin is going to be worthless

Much of the reason MAX coin was trading for so much was a lack of confidence in BTC (since it tanked yesterday lol) and the "whales" did not want to shift to fiat currencies due to a lack of confidence there as well. This left Alt coins as a solid choice. LTC is too heavily tied to the value of BTC for any sort of trade beyond fast and small, and so MAX coin, in particular, had a level of hype going due to the recent release causing a goodly spike in trade rates.

As the BTC market begins to right itself the value of MAXCoins will go down, how far is anyones gues but the coin itself has a very very solid idea behind it that can make it a long term contender.

TL:DR - BTC Tanked, MAX was released with NVidia having a STRONG advantage at early Diff, this caused early trades at high rates.

Well said. Respect. Thanks

https://mcxnow.com works very well. Very fast deposits and instant trades

except that I do not like a lot how the exchange rates collapsed.

Christian

And the price is nearly 1/2 of coins-e ??
1859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 07:12:26 PM
hmm dif has stop up to well over 2k, amd has started and solo mining seems dead

solo mining is NOT dead while each found block has a value of 600 dollars.
Then it may not matter much if it takes you 1 week or 3 weeks to find one.
It will still be profitable.

I can't agree with you this point Christian. The problem is after 3 weeks the price is not the same anymore. I think it will be at least 10 times lower. So sell it all while you can.
1860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 07, 2014, 06:00:49 PM
The biggest pool ypool and his brother 1gh were ddosed to doom just because of Maxcoin.

Really crazy this world  Grin.

Having fun solomining people. But I will pass.
