3581  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITMAIN REFUSE TO REPAIR FAULTY S9 - DOA on: August 24, 2016, 11:34:58 AM
Well that's pretty shitty policy.
So their advise to make a claim for the logistics agent makes no sense at all.
Best case scenario with that claim would be getting 45USD back if I'm understanding this correctly.
3582  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon 7 on: August 24, 2016, 11:27:53 AM
Yes, with all the problems Bitmain is having at the moment, Canaan Creative could still rule this miner generation if they soon come up with a good energy-efficient miner and have good customer service!  Cool
3583  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITMAIN REFUSE TO REPAIR FAULTY S9 - DOA on: August 24, 2016, 11:25:42 AM
There must been some rough handling in some part of the shipment and although you packed it well, two heat sinks fell of.
But as we have seen with the S7, Bitmain has had some quality issues with the thermal adhesive used in heat sinks and pictures about suddenly detaching S7 heat sinks have been posted in this forum.

Tupsu:
I'm not on Bitmain's side in this, but I was just barely able to confirm that the picture Bitmain sent for you is your board.
I used zoom and sharpen effect with Irfanview.

See picture below.

It corresponds with your original picture of the hash board, posted here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1540037.msg16016240#msg16016240

3585  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: August 23, 2016, 10:45:38 PM
Yeah, the rattling sound which comes from the boards being loosely attached almost made me shit my pants when I received my Ant S9 and carefully turned it around 360deg few times.  Tongue
It was kind of tricky to find out if there is any loose heat sinks before turning it on.
Luckily my unit turned out too be a good one, at least so far.
Sorry to hear about you guys' S9 problems though  Undecided
3586  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: (hacked) S7LN Group Buy on: August 15, 2016, 08:37:33 PM
Damn! My Super Flower Golden Green 500W PSU just broke today  Undecided
The S7-LN is fine though, I tried running it with another PSU just fine  Cool
Some idle time now though before I can get it running 24/7 again with a new PSU.
3587  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S2 Discussion and Support Thread on: August 10, 2016, 07:31:44 PM
Also if you have some other Antminers, you could save the BeagleBone Black board for a spare part.
3588  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: hi guys i have electric 3 phase how much can i put each 1 phase take miners s9 on: August 07, 2016, 11:14:35 AM
IMO you need some professional help or otherwise you could end up burning everything.
3589  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hacking the S7 - improving efficiency through minor hardware manipulation on: July 28, 2016, 06:52:31 PM
The hacked S7-LN from the group buy is working nicely, thanks again Sidehack and Phil!  Smiley

I have now some measurements for you Phil.
The PSU I'm using is Super Flower Golden Green SF-500P14XE 500W.
The meter used for both voltage and current, with my test setup is HT Instruments HT7011 clamp meter.
Voltage is approx. 222 VAC
Current is approx. 2.0 A
So the power at the wall is approx. 444 W

Not bad.  Cool

It is almost the same as you measured Phil (442W).

Hi All,
Can you use 14 Gauge extension cords (max amp 15) with these S9's. I know the instructions say that these machines are 20 amps so i wanted to see what the rest of you guys were doing extension cord-wise. Thanks a bunch,
MM333
Yes.

No problem, good to hear.
3593  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: (hacked) S7LN Group Buy on: July 14, 2016, 02:30:40 PM
Yeah, I'll soon have my one mining  Smiley
I paid the VAT 24% and it's on the way to the west coast.
I'll measure the consumption with my clamp meter and test cable -setup soon as I have my hands on it.

I emailed them again:

Hi!
I see that you recently updated the miner page at BW.com.
When can we expect a public release of the miner? Smiley
They answered:

thx for your questions!
3595  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LEPA G1600 PSU question on: July 12, 2016, 10:10:41 PM
Yes, I know all that.
The issue specifically is that:
2 of the RED connectors are 20A
4 of the RED connectors are 30A

Which is which?
I specifically need to split the 30A but not the 20A.

This is the most clear I can make this.
All of the red connectors are behind a 30A 12V rail.
They are ultimately the one and same 12V rail, but it is splitted for safety.
This is the case for most of the "multi-rail" PSUs.
This info is based on http://www.lepatek.com/eng/product_content/1/1/20/
3596  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LEPA G1600 PSU question on: July 12, 2016, 09:54:00 PM
The red connectors in this scheme are marked with the 12V rail:

The same view in the PSU back panel:

If anyone tries it out and compares the DK and NL nodes from wherever they, let me know how it fares for you.
Here are the latency values in Vaasa, Finland.
NL and DE are pretty much equally as good, DK latency is little bigger.

Batch 6 and batch 7 are sold out, I'm eager to see what is the price for the batch 8  Tongue
