Narf... The 16nm curse strikes again. Yesterday totally lost one board on a s9 batch-11 I got a few weeks ago -- no lil' red light on the hash board so means no Vcore turning on BitmainWarranty emailed getting my loony batch-1 board and are looking at it. Looks like another board going to be headed their way even though the miner IS in warranty, even with repair cost is faster/prolly cheaper than sending it to Hong Kong. I've heard about the loosely attached inductor in some hash boards that makes the board not to show up, but I guess that this is not that kind of a case? 1st I've heard of that and good to know. I'll find out tomorrow when I pull the board out during lunch. Here is a picture of it (click for zoom): And here is a video about that kind of a case by Youtube user "Yemira": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiDkCCBIq58

I'm renting 0.5PH +pointing all the miners here (except the S9) for a while to test my luck! edit: no luck this time Ant S1 keeps going as a lottery ticket here though.

I used one these hex files with PICkit3 for undervolting and underclocking a S7, batch 9 and everything went smooth. I sold that miner but I'm going to do the same thing again soon to a S7 when the S9 arrives and I rearrange my miners and PSUs. Here is my setup: Antminer S7, 640/670mV, 4.223Th/s (60 min avg), 625 Mhz
Power supply: Enermax Revolution 87+ 1000W Voltage: 227 VAC Current: 4,7 A
Power (at wall): 1066,9 W So that is 1067W/4223GH. Or 0.252w/GH. You obviously lowered the watt draw, but I'm confused as to whether you are running more efficient as s7 is rated at .25J/GH, right? You have to take the PSU efficiency in account. The consumption in 12VDC side is maybe something like 0.88x1067W =938.96W (I used 0.88, since it is 87+ efficiency PSU with almost 100% load)And the efficiency for S7 is then about 0.222.. J/GH. The number Bitmain gives for the miner efficiency doesn't take the PSU into account (power at wall -efficiency). I'm getting the most hash out with the Enermax PSU by using these settings. With 650Mhz frequency the load is too much for this PSU and it occassionally turns off.

Computer mining is over! Bitcoin mining today is done with ASIC hardware.

Has anybody had problems with low hash rate in one board with S9, batch 2? That particular board hashes about 2.5-2.9Th/s. I had this problem once before but it went away after few restarts. Now I'm stuck with the one board performing at low level.
Ideas?
No x's are shown in ASIC status. Firmware is original. edit: I was able to fix this back to normal after all. It required maybe like 30+ restarts. What a strangely acting miner..
I have this exact problem with a batch 3. I installed the low voltage firmware which seemed to help slightly (fewer restarts needed to get the 3rd board to hash normal speed) and I also downclocked which also helps in the same way. But I still sometimes need 4 or 5 restarts to get it working right and even then that low hash board always hashes less than the other two. This miner has been this way from the day I got it. I have spent 20+ restarts trying to get it to hash normal at full freq before but I don't even try anymore. This happened to me as well and I almost gave up on restarting the miner. When I now finally got it back to the normal hash rate, I'm avoiding any restarts etc. with it. edit: This is how it looks like for me at the moment. The problem was with chain#4 board and it is still hashing with little lower hash rate than the other two boards. The total hash rate is little under what it suppose to be (12.93Th/s). (click for bigger picture)Mine looks nearly identical except the freq is lower. Top board has the highest hashrate, middle board is close to it but slightly less, and bottom board (which is also chain 4) is always atleast 100 GH/s less than the top board. And that's what I get when I get a good boot which sometimes takes several reboots to achieve. I'd like to add that one thing to notice is that my miner had 2pcs V3 (version 3) hash boards and 1 piece V1 hash board. The low hash rate -problem was with the V1 hash board.

Did KNC mining finally go under? For about the last 5 or 6 days, there are no more blocks listed as being found by them: https://blockchain.info/blocks/KnCMinerThey normally find about 3 to 5 blocks a day. Oh that would be wonderful ...now if we can get a few more big corp miners to bow out too, maybe home mining can be doable again Who knows, they could have their miners pointed to elsewhere.

Antminer S1 is still me favorite Antminer.
s1's were great reliable miners , im still partial to the 12 s2's i still have running to this day they have been on 24/7/365 for a long long time , only reapirs on them have been regular cleaning and a few psu fans have needed replaced that being said all my s1/s2/s3 miners have been the most trouble free miners i have ever had , seems like quality started to take a turn at the s4 I agree with the S2! I had only the 2x front case fans replaced since one of them failed. I used 2x Arctic F14 PWM and saved 1x original fan as a spare part. I sold it few months ago to a guy in Helsinki. Here are some pics in memory of my Ant S2 (batch 4) the day before it was sold (click for bigger pictures): Ant S1 still going strong with the 3D printed frame parts (I made them for fun and for possible boards of sidehack's community miner project):I have to put it to sleep again though when I receive my new S9. It's just pointed as a lottery ticket to the solo.ckpool.

Is anyone here with the S9 11.85Th/s (550Mhz) -model overclocked to ~12.93Th/s (600Mhz)? Is it running stable and ok with 600Mhz settings or do you notice instability in miner operation?
I've found it depends on temperature. The other morning it was 40F so my machines were running very cool. I turned one up to 650 it ran at 13.85 great for 3 hours. Temperatures here rose so I got nervous and turned it back down. I've never overclocked a s9 before so I am still very leary, especially while they are still under warranty. Except for the one I overclocked of course. Ok, so you are long-term good with 600Mhz and ~12.93Th/s? I wouldn't consider 3 hours long term. Ok. I thought 3 hours was for the 650Mhz OC session.

I'm upgrading my gear, a S9 replaces one of my S7(already sold) and I should be at 34Th/s pointed here as soon as I get the gear.

I'll bet it'll be delayed for at least another two weeks, if not more- I doubt they even have production up. At least there's no preorders, that would've gotten out of hand quickly.
I was watching at bitmain and saw ALL their S9 / R4 were sold at same time last friday... I think they are specting some news, too (from A7 or something). I wanna see what happend with the price of the new batch... Ant R4 is available again with the same price 1395USD. edit: yeah, new S9 batches available as well now, with HIGHER price than previous batches.
