I guess the lack of firmware available for download could also be because there exists so many versions of Antminer S9's and firmwares. So there is a possibility to do something wrong when dealing with firmwares. I believe you could have the firmware if you simply ask them and tell your miner specifications. Those who need the firmware, have you been in contact with Bitmain?

Canaan is selling A6's and are soon to be selling A7's to the public.
Bitfury and BW.com are only selling miners to industrial scale customers and they are also mining themselves. Innosilicon A4 is an altcoin miner. If we add altcoin miners into this then there is also Baikal Mini miner (X11), which I have four pcs. incoming.
I asked BW.com about the public release and at first it seemed like they were going to do it (my 1st e-mail conversation with them). Then they suddenly cancelled and continued on the big scale road (my 2nd e-mail conversation much later after the first one).
I'd forgotten about the Baikal - don't know if the other 2 X11 ASIC are still selling or not at this point, though I suspect that original one isn't as it's been blown out of the market so badly since. And yes, it would take about 6 KW to run a 60TH miner with the stated efficiency of their bitcoin miner. Not impossible - Spondoolies DID announce that SP50 with *10* or some such PS in it and may have actually built a few for private data hall(s) somewhere before they died - but NOT likely at all in a 4u form factor. Yeah, PinIdea Dr2 (x11 miner) is also available for the public

Dear Bitcoiners,
We are back from the Chinese National Day holidays and we have good news for all: we are releasing two new batches of the Antminer S9 today (10 October 2016) at 2300 hours (GMT +8, Beijing time).
Batch 16 and batch 17 can deliver a hashrate of 12TH/s and 13TH/s, respectively.
We advise all to confirm their order here (https://goo.gl/CxQZx0) for batch 16 or here (https://goo.gl/ZRqVao) for batch 17 soon after the sales open to secure their order while the stock lasts.
Happy mining,
the Bitmain team What about new batches of the R4?

CoinTelegraph should have some journalistic responsibility and not release all kinds of bull shit for money.

There is now pretty much only two companies that sell real miners to the public. Bitmain and Canaan Creative.
Actually, just Bitmain - though Canaan has announced they're working on a next-gen miner, and the Innosilicon A4 should be shipping real soon (dunno what happened to the A3 though, have heard NOTHING about that for months). In theory, BitFury and BW.com (LKEtc and co) could do so but they seem to be sticking with sales to "industrial" scale miners. Canaan is selling A6's and are soon to be selling A7's to the public. Using the Google picture search you will realise that the "miner" in picture is the same is than the Minerslab one, so definitely a scam. See this thread about Minerslab.com https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=883534.100Can you OP change the title to for example "THMiners is a SCAM!" before lots of people trust their money again in a scam company. This shit has been losing people's money for too long. edit: thanks!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1640776Seems like a scam, there is no more detailed technical specifications and only one small picture. I would wait at least that they give one miner for a trusted member here for a review and see how this company goes.

Both boards on my newest A6 have burned power sockets. The PSU tests perfect. Well...guess I'll see what warranty is like at Canaan. Wow , did you have 16AWG or thicker PCI-E cables?
|
|
|
My overall net is actually slightly more over the past week or so...no complaints. And that's with a PSU brick starting to go out...one board on one of the A6s isn't getting but about 11v. Gotta order a new brick, I guess. I've got extra PCIe leads on any of the other three bricks (I use 2 1KW bricks for one A6). Any comments on whether supplying a single board from two PSUs? I've heard it can cause problems depending on how the board manages things. It is not advisable to power a board from two different sources, all kinds of "funny things" can happen.

Hello when i am powering my s9 the power supply fan is starting but on miner no fan are working and no light near LAN port what can be the reason for this ?
Is the power supply output giving out 12VDC? First thing I would check is if the power supply is okay.

Mining with desktop PC - Yes. Mining with laptop - Hell no!
Earnings are low and you might end up breaking/burning your laptop.
