1401  Bitcoin / Hardware / Thermal Compound on: June 06, 2014, 10:45:59 AM
Seeing as some manufacturers are happy to ship out mining apparatus with insufficient AND poorly applied Thermal Paste/Grease, i am interested to hear what people think should be done...

i will include an example of what i mean and i would appreciate anyones advice on how it should be done wrt brands, amount, thickness & placement etc

i am in no way educated on these matters but even a blind man could see that what is hidden from view is atrocious and costing us money & shortening the lifespan of our already dismal hardware.

Discuss, prove me wrong, educate us all....

Shite...

Shite...

Same Shite.!

Now i appreciate its just one blade 3 times BUT, if it wasnt DOA who would bother taking any of them apart??

I put it to you that every blade has potentially the same or worse treatment just tucked away out of sight..

what do??

i also appreciate they dont have 'much' mining time left in them so is it worth correcting and if so - how, exactly.

just on the chips, all around the chips too?

maybe you guys should borrow your girlfriends t shirt, grab yourself a fedora and saunter up to KnC HQ.

they might just let you in....

KnC - Who Goes There?

Victims - Reek!

etc...  sorry.
1403  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cointerra REFUNDED— People Asking for refunds.. NEWS UPDATE!!! on: June 06, 2014, 10:33:55 AM
sorry hombres, i forgot to post here but get in touch with BitPay if you used them to pay - they managed to convince CT to cough up my refund in a matter of days.

you can also try jc@cointerra.com

BOL, Yo!

On April 11 I cancelled our most recent order from kncminer.  On April 24 I received a "refund" that is short of the correct amount by more than $6,000 USD. I've gone round and round with support staff about this, and the final word (from Sam) is that they have no intention of paying me one cent more.

Sorry to pile on to this, but I thought it best to let you all know.

Can you explain how this came to be for the benefit of others who may be facing similar fraudulence?

sorry to hear they raped you too - the fearful part is we are going to get used to it and start liking it... Embarrassed

1407  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit, sales price changes daily, now $2247 per Kit on: June 06, 2014, 05:15:03 AM
Thank You Dropt!

how hard was that??

I have tried calling the telephone number provided  by Bitmain - the 1st timeit was answered but only heavy breathing/silence.

subsequent calls have been left to time out or purposefully ended without answering.

if anyone else is struggling to contact them, +86 151 124 53849 is the contact number that will more than likely not be answered.

BITMAIN - are you too busy to reply or merely ignoring my emails, PMs & telephone calls??

why would you provide UPS shipping information that UPS themselves cannot identify or accept??

The way this is going, it will be another 7-10 days to get this simple, single blade replaced.... what kind of service is this?

Quote from: edgar on Today at 00:27:55

can you tell me what the capacitors actually do?

do you think there is any risk of fire??

Hi edgar,
Relax, if it is wokring normally now, should not bring any bad results, the worst case is that the miner runs with less than 1 Th/s.

apparently the risk of less than 1Th/s is worse than the risk of fire/explosion...

and now it seems i may be back on the ignore list - UPS cant accept the package with the label Bitmain provided and he is yet to provide updated info despite being requested over an hour ago

we can only hope their greed is their undoing - be nice to see an electrical storm wipe out their entire dator hall(s)

People are still mad about the KFC 5PH farm?

You guys are aware AM is about to unleash 60PH on the network in the next month right?

so we should be more worried about the future??

more bizzare logic.

oh no, something is going to happen... lets ignore what has happened & continues to happen as we speak WITH OUR MONEY... for the future is nigh..

How come so many people are having issues with getting refunds. 54 days is two months. Especially when they can send you BTC in a matter of seconds. I wonder why they would be doing that? So when the time comes they have no choice to put people on a cloud hashing plan so it makes it looks like they have customers or something?

presumably they prefer to refund when it suits them ie. when btc is high

they are trying to be the chinese manufacturers of europe.

pinching pennies and shaving every satoshi they can.

we can only hope their greed is their undoing - be nice to see an electrical storm wipe out their entire dator hall(s)
1411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit, sales price changes daily, now $2247 per Kit on: June 06, 2014, 03:41:05 AM
BoJaques - the 'newest' rigs /blades come with 4 extra caps on each blade.

whereas older ones do not have these.

im not sure what they do as they seem to function even when broken and or snapped off.

UPS does not recognize the tracking number sent by bitmain and are unable to assist in any way until they have the correct information.

guess it means more waiting or paying for it to be shipped myself!! (where its anyones guess if they will collect it/acknowledge it)

and all the while he sits with thousands of blades unwilling to replace a single DOA blade until 'we get back DOA board first'....

1412  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit, sales price changes daily, now $2247 per Kit on: June 06, 2014, 02:57:32 AM
Do you guys take pennies?

pubes?

i has got millions..

@BoJaques - i have mentioned this in 2-3 threads now, yes i have a similar experience with my B4

my B3 with OCZ1000w psu sits at 1xxxGH all day

my B4 with enermax1000w sits around 9xx

by 'B5' (actually i think its an old B3, no metal plate, no foam) with enermax1000w & only 9 blades has settled around 89x

and just for clarity - i can NOT access 'Miner status' NOR 'Miner Config' without pulling the ethercable (i tried for 18 hrs to explain this to bitmain yesterday)

and checking the 'miner status' when its not mining is pointless!

Very Poor Service/Support , although he does appear to be 'trying' - i just received the shipping label to return the DOA board...
1413  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My second attempt at BTC mining- need advice on: June 06, 2014, 02:44:36 AM
the problem is the goal posts have yet to stop moving.

whatever you come up with will be trumped in a matter of months by better tech.

20nm chips are already on their way, so you could start there but by the time youve got something set up, 14nm tech will render your effort redundant.

not trying to stop you from trying but its going to be difficult to keep up.

love the mental image of a solar flower btw, i have a couple of pre-order/kickstarter 500w panels i paid for in feb that will not even scratch the surface of what im using now... roughly 6kw.

and thats assuming they even ever arrive.

if you have the space/time/capital id suggest wind + solar flowers + the best chips/rigs you can find and an aggresive strategy to keep updated with the latest tech - best of luck and keep us informed on how it goes.

i love your enthusiasm, dont let the trollfags hold you down!!
1414  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Avalon ASIC Gen1 batch #2 pledge on: June 06, 2014, 01:43:59 AM
fuck em all!

typical thieves!

stole the ip to even get started

stole the trade ins

stole the profit by mining everyones rigs to death for over 5 months

but in china that behaviour is rewarded with government contracts and extra fish heads/chicken feet in your lunchbox. yum!
1415  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Capacitor repair on an Antminer S1 board? on: June 06, 2014, 01:36:28 AM
i also have recently received and S2 with broken & missing caps.

had exactly the same struggle trying to get bitmain to comprehend the situation.

dozens of messages relayed and he almost always says , try it again, reseat it, off & on, try again, dont worry - try again.

i have already seen images of exploded caps and the resultant non assistance.

as it happens my rig is running 9 0f 10 blades seemingly fine but it will live its life outside, im not risking my wooden house catching on fire so bitmain can save 0.01 dorrar worth of caps & 2 dorrars worth of thermal paste....

Disgusted.!

but hey....moar coupons....ffs!!
1416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 04, 2014, 01:56:12 PM
strange - my jupiters are the coolest & quietest rigs BY FAR..

1417  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit Sales Open, official sales price $2260 per Kit on: June 04, 2014, 06:58:54 AM
ok so i went balls deep and powered her up - 9 blades hashing @ a better hashrate than my other S2s that were not damaged and are running 10 blades....

1000w is clearly NOT ENOUGH and anyone who hasnt upgraded is losing GH by the second.

myself included...

@freebit - despite my last 6-7 orders being dleivered by UPS , this time i was blessed with the talents of SF shipping..

25USD fee

instead of the 100+ from UPS (my personal choice)

and the 300+ from DHL (who are villains)

so when shaving pennies you clearly do get what u pay for - it looks as tough this rig was removed from the box, foam and bubblewrap then thrown onto the floor with some force before being repackaged minus the bubblewrap that was just stuffed inthe side.

anyway - ive learnt that they need more power for a fact and i will be lucky if the ever helpful bitmain can sort me out
1418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 04, 2014, 05:31:49 AM
agree about KnC and their hopeful delusionals. it could be a 20Gh/s unicorn miner but the fact that KnC are shitmongrel cunts means that your continued support of them fucks us all - datorhall 2 wont be far away if indeed it isnt already filled with 20nm magic

disagree about referral links - its against forum rules and like spam in general, cheap & grotty
1419  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit Sales Open, official sales price $2260 per Kit on: June 04, 2014, 05:06:37 AM
rig ordred on 25th just arrived.

No metal plate holding the boards down

a huge crease all the way across and 2 corners dented & scratched.

damaged boards, something silver and red missing from the power board (capacitor? its not inside unless the psu has eaten it)

this will be my karmaic reward for being flippant on others troubles...

as well as awful shipping - zzzzzzzz

Bitmainnnnnnnnnnn!!!!.........
1420  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ARE YOU A COINTERRA BURN VICTIM ? on: June 03, 2014, 10:27:21 AM
have you contacted bitpay (assuming you paid thru them)

elyse giles is a very helpful person who has got me a promise of a bank transfer today - i am still waiting for it but i have received 3-4 emails from cointerra indicating it is literally 'being processed now'

i decided to wait before posting this and in the meantime it was refunded.

the cash is now in my account.

the person who contacted me advised using this email.

jc@cointerra.com

Good Luck All, and get in touch with BitPay if you can - i cant express my appreciation for their input.

Ed.

seems i lost 100GBP in the exchange but i can live with that..... just.
