PCI-e power connectors are keyed so they only fit one way. If it was possible, we'd have read dozens of stories just like this over the past year.
Unless you have gorilla-strength and are able to force square pegs into round holes, then it's impossible.
I know, I know. It sounds increbible...  i did it twice last year, and was stunned it was possible AND that it didnt explode/destroy my hardware. but i do have gorilla powers. i think its down to how much 'give' is in a particular connector, but it definitely is possible. i imagine more people have managed it but kept it to themselves for fear of ridicule. and i am yet to see a PSU connector with 'round' holes fuck the haters, i say - let them cry themselves to sleep don't cry |

after a painful morning and an extortionate afternoon - its 1630 and i am mining with the loudest machine ive ever heard, and i had avalons!!
i managed to convince the weekend staff to release shipment for 'just' 100 USD (no receipt) on top of the 290USD previously quoted, so all in all - im happy!
very nice to just plug it in and go!! (i haven't upgraded fw yet)
due to its size i moved my 2 (SILENT) jupiters indoors & put the sp30 in their place.
Noticed my November Jup has got 2 burnt connectors - but fukkit, if they burn any more ill have to pull out them shitty 'extension' things and wire it directly... nows a good time to clean 10 months worth of dust out of em too!

Mine says the same which is unusual, last ones I sent arrived the next day, and looking at the tracking its arrived at the local depot at 5.30am so not sure why it won't be delivered today and a public holiday on monday  edgar, Just got off the phone with FedEx and it's just an error with the online tracking, parcel will be delivered today, maybe yours is the same ? thx tigggger, but dhl are the worst in this region. any excuse to increase fees & they're on it ive been sent an official 'bill' for 290USD to be agreed upon before 'release' with 'additional fees' to be presented upon delivery including 'overtime' fees it is a genuine extortion racket - take it or leave it, essentially im going to go to the depot tomorrow morning and try to buy it out. (even though they insist i dont & wait until monday - probably) Good Luck with yours today!! Pics if it turns up!!! |

NOT that i hold you responsible for DHL's company practices - i hope that is clear. i have exchanged 8 emails with DHL who insist i pay 'overtime' fees despite it being a regular weekday (here) IF i wish to receive delivery on MONDAY they will not allow me to pick up myself - i presume that would negate their extortionate 'overtime' fee |
